Being reported time frame for our takeover will be one, onto as opposed to the 9 that 777 had, can't come quick enough .

Month.

What have we done to the Premier league we ask for the last game of the season to be played at the old lady, but no let's bugger them up and have the last game away on the south coast.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2024 11:25:05
Also potentially day after cup final too! In the unlikely event we got to final we would need to play midweek on a Tuesday, Wednesday. ??.

18 Jun 2024 11:30:54
i did not know that newcastle was on the south coast!

18 Jun 2024 12:26:21
Think the request was for us to play our last game a week before the end of the season. This was granted. So we now play Southampton at home (our last home game) , then Newcastle away is our last game of the season.

18 Jun 2024 12:30:37
The club asked for it so the last game at Goodison gets the coverage it deserves rather than lost in all the other end of season relegation and top four positions news . There’s a piece in the echo .
It does kind of make sense.

18 Jun 2024 11:21:59
That's the opposite to what the Echo is reporting.

18 Jun 2024 15:22:13
We asked for our last game not to be at home. The prem agreed, simple.

18 Jun 2024 22:22:15
None story this one. Journalists spinning to get a story.

17 Jun 2024 12:27:30
Dan Freidkin given an outline of what he intends to do at Everton when he takes over, excellent read just the guy we need.

Agree5 Disagree0

17 Jun 2024 13:14:12
I think outline is just a rehashing of what he said when he took over at Roma, GB? Could be wrong, but I don’t think he’s come out and spoken about Everton yet.

{Ed002's Note - It is simply a statement he made in 2020.}

17 Jun 2024 13:32:46
You mean the regurgitated interview he gave when took over Roma? What? 4 years ago? The one that read like a brown-nose match program blurb?

17 Jun 2024 13:34:40
I don't think he has, this is yet more cheeky journos twisting things. This is his outline of what he intended when he took over Roma - don't think anything has been said about Everton
This was 4 years ago, a lot may have changed since then.

17 Jun 2024 13:47:52
Just what we have been waiting for then Ed, the three main issues to start with he said are get us up the table, be truthful to the fans and run the Club honestly, can’t ask for more than that mate.

{Ed025's Note - if it comes to fruition GB that would be great, i have to be honest though i dont know enough them to declare them as our saviours just yet mate, so i will be sitting on the fence for now and biding my time..

17 Jun 2024 14:14:42
Roma have done well since he’s been involved mate.

{Ed025's Note - they have apparently GB, im just not sure on this multi club ownership though mate, but maybe im a dinosaur.. :)

17 Jun 2024 14:37:16
A lot are owned in this manner with no probs mate.

{Ed025's Note - oh ok mate, i was just sceptical of if one club takes president over another or if one gets in trouble do the others suffer as well?, as i have said this lark goes right over my head im afraid..

17 Jun 2024 16:34:30
There are a lot of multi club ownership models out there but then I am sure there is still some hierarchy
Like if both qualify for the same tournament in Europe, who defers ??‍♂️
And we might all sit here thinking oh send him to Roma and let’s raid them for talent, is it really going to work like that?

Part of me wants it to work but then the major part of me wants owners like Bell and Downey who have the clubs interests and desire to restore the club but then that has drawbacks depending on who else is in the plan, if it’s MSP then it’s multi club again.

{Ed002's Note - The lower placed team drops down to a lower tier tournament.

Transfers between clubs najority owned by the same party have to be assessed to be of a fair value.}

16 Jun 2024 15:51:27
I know it’s good news we have a buyer, however people getting a little ahead of themselves.
The £540m is to buy Moshiri off £400m, the remaining money is for MSP, this leaving us still with massive interest payments on debts.
Yes we will likely restructure some debt, get some money in for sponsorship, but we still need to sell Branthwaite, Onana and get shut of other deadwood if we are to not have to worry about more points deductions next season.
I agree there’s some positivity but we’re not out of the woods yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2024 17:36:32
There is no scenario where the next owner comes in a "gets rid of the debt". We have just built a stadium that has cost over £750m. On top of that the short term loans we have been getting will have large interest rates attached to them.

So what we can expect is the new owner comes in and puts the debt we have over a long period of time at much lower rates that means we get the most out of the increased revenue from the stadium, sponsorship and future TV revenues.

Dan has done a really good job from when he came into Roma who were similar to us with debt and their own FFP issues, by all accounts (only what I've read and heard) . Again fans probably won't like him that much because they want someone to come in and spend £500m on 7 left wingers and 3 No10's and he tends to prefer player trading to raise funds (which is the norm for almost every club) . He ain't no Boehly.

Our goal should 100% be about Everton becoming self sustaining and not have to rely on outside help. It will take time but this new stadium and additional revenue streams when we are in there will have a huge impact which is already starting by our new kit deal.

It's going to be interesting to see how things develop but we all need to be patient and not expect things to change that much over the next 2 to 3 years. It will be tight and a lot of wheeling and dealing but hopefully without the issues of PSR.

16 Jun 2024 18:27:42
Don’t think anyone is getting ahead of themselves, just think they’re thankful a new owner with some understanding of how a football club should be run is taking over.
Most clubs are in debt it’s how you manage it that matters. Increased revenue and naming rights etc from the new stadium is a start. So let’s all be positive and stop worrying about the debt, and leave that to the people who know how to manage that.

{Ed025's Note - fair points Harlex..

16 Jun 2024 18:35:32
Brilliant post mate.

16 Jun 2024 19:34:26
Good post Harlex mate.

16 Jun 2024 21:06:29
Chicago Bears v 49ers, Ed Sheeran Concert, next Euros etc etc. going to take time but our income streams will grow. Let’s be patient and it will sort itself out. Let’s watch Pickford for now…….

16 Jun 2024 12:23:08
Excellent article from Sky re Dan Freidkin very detailed on how it now looks extremely likely he to be our next owner, hopefully should be completed in 4 to 6 weeks.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so upset at a player passing as I have with Kevin Campbell. Maybe it’s because he’s of my generation, don’t know. This has hit quite hard though and by the outpouring of genuine, heartfelt grief through the football world - fans, players etc - can only be seen as a mark of a great man. RIP Super Kev.

I agree Pierre, terrible news mate.

I remember walking through Manchester and Kev had come out of a building about 20 yards down the street and was walking towards me. I could tell it was him straight away.

As I walked past I simply said "Super Kev, how's things mate, are you well" whilst patting him on the shoulder, without either of us breaking a stride and carrying on to where we were heading.

His response "I'm alright geez, how are you fella".

I had always seen him as a genuine, nice. down to earth bloke and that short exchange confirmed everything.

He will be sorely missed. RIP Kevin.

16 Jun 2024 14:36:54
The good die young, a true club hero up there with dunc as a 90s legend without him where would we be today. RIP.

16 Jun 2024 15:42:05
The world needs more Kevin Campbell's. Nice guy always smiling, and always had time for the fans.
RIP Super kev?.

17 Jun 2024 15:10:26
Sad times. Not only a great player for us but a top bloke too. Not long listened to his two appearances on the under the cosh podcast, worth a watch/ listen if you get time.
RUP Super Kev, taken far too soon.

16 Jun 2024 07:32:16
Just curious if we could tell man utd we aren't selling Branthwaite. This season . Just offload the other deadwood. As Branthwaite hasn't exactly asked to leave yet! . Could we afford to do it?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2024 09:33:53
I am worried Jarrad will start playing up and have his head. turned. really hope he doesn't and those around him don't overly influence.

Utd know we are in limbo with fiances, probably be some middle ground met.

Would love for us to dig our heels in and get what we value the lad at, crazy amount of money but even in today's market could well prove to be a bargain.

16 Jun 2024 11:37:01
Utd don't have the money, that is why they are trying to get him on the cheap. They like a lot of others are sailing close to the wind with FFP.

16 Jun 2024 12:14:11
It makes the most sense to string the Branthwaite one out over the entire summer. If we forget the ffp PSR for a moment. Those kind of historical massive transfers usually end up last day for record breaking fees. I'm not saying he's going to break the world or British transfer records obviously but he may well be the most expensive for his age etc. it could be multiples of 10s of millions added. I'd think KT and the sales team will be flogging off everything and everyone else first. I would not be surprised by a left field sale of someone like Garner for £30m and Goddfrey for a fee that reflects the final term of his contract to balance the end of year. Onana and Branthwaite really need to rumble on all summer to maximise the pay day.

{Ed002's Note - So you are happy for another points deduction or perhaps a transfer ban?}

16 Jun 2024 13:24:37
Sounds stupid and I understand if I am deemed as such but I would take a points deduction if it meant getting maximum value for our top assets.

We have turned 2 points deductions in 1 season on their head before. I think getting an extra 30/ 50 million to invest in wages or players is more important to us atm than 2-6 points.

16 Jun 2024 00:05:50
Gutted about Kevin Campbell some my earliest memory's of him . Was such good ambassador for club aswell.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jun 2024 17:24:57
I'm sure this hypothetical question would get me shot down by one of the eds, but here goes.

In theory. What is to stop Everton and Chelsea agreeing to essentially scratch each others backs by selling DCL and Broja to each other at an inflated price in order to circumvent FFP. If we sell DCL to them for £50m and buy Broja for £50m both of us would get most of that as profit this season, and spread the rest over long contracts going forward. Win win.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are proposing. Sorry}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2024 23:16:17
If we both sell for the same money how does that help, we are the same.

16 Jun 2024 07:30:15
In other words swap them? I'm confused ?.

16 Jun 2024 00:04:22
Ed02

I think he suggesting both overpay for players and it looks good both books but that would just leave us both in same boat.

{Ed002's Note - Why would Chelsea be interested in doing anything like that?}

16 Jun 2024 05:45:16
What he's saying is we sell DCL for 59m
As we bought him for peanuts and he's only got 1 year left on his contract we could book the vast majority of the sale as profit in the year ending June 2024

If we then bought Broja for 50m the 50m would be spread over the term of his contract, let's say 5 years. The first 10m (50 divided by 5) would be booked in the year 24/ 25 so the year following the booking of the profit on DCL

It would help profitability for year ending 30 June 2024 but does little or nothing for sustainability i. e. avoiding Administration

I can't tell you if it is legal but it's what would happen with unrelated transfers so why not?

{Ed002's Note - I really would advide you to stay clear of the finances.}

16 Jun 2024 11:05:03
As a qualified accountant I'd be interested why you think that Ed instead of a bland dismissal. It looks to me that you are the one staying clear of explaining yourself.

{Ed002's Note - Because you clearly have no idea about football finances. And as an accountant one would have thought you would know whether it was legal or not.}

16 Jun 2024 11:32:45
Welcome to the naughty step bw mate.

16 Jun 2024 14:33:18
Let’s leave any potential illegal stuff away from the club. City and Chelsea have done illegal stuff in the past which is coming to light and I hope they are dealt with accordingly. I only wonder what skeletons are in the cupboard at other clubs. Think it was Ed01 who alluded to there being a lot of corruption at the top.

15 Jun 2024 13:27:46
RIP SUPER KEV!

15 Jun 2024 17:20:02
So sad. an Everton legend.

16 Jun 2024 11:06:05
A great ambassador for the game and for Everton.

15 Jun 2024 13:15:03
Reiss Nelson has handed in a transfer request at Arsenal because he is wanting a more prominent role. Arsenal are looking for around £20m including addons. I wouldn't mind him at us although with several clubs interested already like Crystal Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham it would be difficult for us to get him I would guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2024 19:29:13
Palace would suit him especially if Olise or Eze go.
