More chance if it was George and Mildred.

11 Sep 2026 13:37:14
I'd love this GB!

I have a feeling it might go one way or the other with Spurs. They might roll over, or finally "click."

Hoping it's the former, because a win would mean it's a great start to the season.

11 Sep 2026 13:45:49
We cannot allow them to click. If we unsettled them to begin with, they have 0 leaders and will fall apart - I worry Moyes is too respectful, though, and we will allow them to gain confidence.

11 Sep 2026 14:07:38
Pressure them from the off, their fans will go scatty.

11 Sep 2026 14:36:27
If Dibbling gets on, he scores, I reckon.

11 Sep 2026 15:13:21
Not given anyone a good slap since Brighton so I feel a good old hiding is way past due. Something stinks at Spuds. 0 5.

10 Sep 2026 22:22:26
Seamy Coleman on the overlap is a good watch, that man can't get any more of a legend.

Agree Bb, I really enjoyed it.

10 Sep 2026 21:31:12
If Richardson gets his contract terminated by Spurs, does that make him a free agent?

The On Your Side project
Just a quick thought my fellow Evertonians,
I watched with interest the news item above tonight on the BBC.
It made me stop a think, could I have helped someone in the past.

A sobering thought.
At the next home game let’s ask that question?
Sorry if this seems a distraction from the normal banter.
But sometimes there are more important things than football, just.

Great post, Buggers, and it certainly puts football into perspective. ?

10 Sep 2026 22:42:53
Certainly need helping up those steps. Good post, Buggers.

10 Sep 2026 16:04:43
If we are seriously interested in this Argentina striker, and given current options, way wouldn't we be, then for piteys sake let's get it done before our usual hesantcy, sees him sign elsewhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Sep 2026 16:18:02
Who is this Argentinian striker? Hope it's not Straquilersie, although he tried hard.

10 Sep 2026 16:19:12
I was hoping we would get Karim Benzema. Just so we could say he once played for us. ?

10 Sep 2026 16:49:45
No, you have it the wrong way round. It's so he can say he once played for Everton, would top off his c/v.

10 Sep 2026 19:48:36
Icardi? If that's whom you are referring to, then there is a reason that, despite his ability, there aren't many teams rushing to sign him up. You only need to search him on the Internet to see some of the issues he has been involved in.

10 Sep 2026 19:51:10
Doubt he'd find us even with a map.

10 Sep 2026 21:37:50
If Richarlson convinces Tottenham to cancel his contract, does that make him a free agent?

11 Sep 2026 07:32:04
For a free transfer I certainly wouldnt say no. Question is, would he wanna join us, and also is he still with his missus Wonda? Blimey, she's fit, her.

10 Sep 2026 15:51:34
There’s a really good article on Toffeeweb about TFG and an assessment of any prospective sale, good read.

Can't believe there is still negative stuff going on, we are 8th in the table, 5 points from 3 games and the Team is playing some great footy. Spurs fans would bite your hand off to be where we are. Time to enjoy Everton, oh and a nice 0-2 on Sat I.

Calm down, GB, it's a bit early to be getting too excited yet. Yes, attacking wise we look easier on the eye, and it's certainly an improvement from hoofball. But you can't hide the fact that the defence looks very suspect at the moment, and that has to be sorted.

Normally, wait 10 to 12 games in before you get a feel for how the team is shaping up. Please don't think Spurs will be a pushover, mate; they have a lot of good players and once they gel together they will have a decent side. Just hope it doesn't happen this weekend.

10 Sep 2026 15:27:24
You know exactly what will happen on Saturday. We always do it. Spurs haven't scored this season. Spurs haven't won this season. This player hasn't scored in 200 games, but they are playing Everton. Boom. I really hope we get something on Saturday. COYB'S. ????

10 Sep 2026 15:28:47
We could be in a far worse position than we are, mate. The footy is so much better than the last few seasons. I don't need calming down any more than you do. I'm just happy at our good start, mate.

10 Sep 2026 15:54:38
Just my opinion, but I think if we had this team on the last day of last season, we would have sent Spurs down.

10 Sep 2026 16:31:56
We've played three games and got out of jail in two of those. Far too early to make predictions just yet.

10 Sep 2026 21:09:52
They were on an awful run last season and got a win against us, same with Newcastle.

Would be nice to buck the trend.

{Ed025's Note - it really would BR, i expect them to improve as the season goes on mate but hopefully we can do a job on them while they are vulnerable..

10 Sep 2026 11:43:40
I'm happy with start to season, football being played, and transfers brought in. I think we have played well and are in a good position to build - hopefully keep in top 8 until Jan and get 1-2 more in - think this could be a good season. First season in ages where we have an exciting midfield who can keep the ball and no longer just lose it or hoof it forward. Plenty to moan about in previous seasons - This is the best I can remember in a long time.

Moyes seems to have evolved his playing style - Personally I'd like to see O'Brien with Branthwaite in the middle and Graham get a chance up front. If only Barry scored that header or the shot that was saved well by Bournemouth keeper - also Pickford has had a poor start to season - however all teams can say this sort of thing - I'm pleased and think we will do well this year!

10 Sep 2026 12:21:39
I can't see Graham being given a chance personally. He's not a striker. He's played the majority of his games off the left for the U21s.
I'm not saying I don't want to see him play. I just can't see it.

I do agree that we've played some decent stuff so far, I just hope we can keep it up on Saturday.

10 Sep 2026 15:20:41
Moyes has mentioned that BD, if used, would be more of a wide player, as he isn't ready physically to lead the line up top. Probably right to be fair.

On the subject of Pickford, I've been a bit bemused by people having a pop at him so far. I'd go along with that he could have done better for the second goal last week, but apart from that, he has been solid and reliable.

Especially when we consider how ropey the defence has been. If we shore up that defence a bit, then we won't have to call upon as much in games.

10 Sep 2026 10:11:56
Something has now become very clear, the focus of TFG, is on the bottom line, not success on the pitch, if this is true, and there is every indexation it is, then it's time for them to leave.

If they do not leave, then the future, is an increasingley hostile relationship with the fan base, that is in no one's interests, so please go before things come to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Sep 2026 10:52:18
I'd not be as clear as that for me. It's a balance between being successful on the pitch and securing a bright future. We have massively improved our commercial standing, and this looks set to improve further.

We have also, in my opinion, improved the quality of our squad, if not the quantity. A couple of good acquisitions in January, and it could be a better season than most seem to think.

10 Sep 2026 11:58:45
Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3. We are finishing Phase 1 and moving into 2. They'll keep finding investment, and they'll slowly (that's what we're all frustrated by) fill the squad, give it 5 years, as they said on day 1. This Mexican food thing of asking the same question every 24 hours in slightly different forms, are we here until the winter window with this? Or can we have some good old fashioned blind faith and optimism? Just for a while? Can we just be footy fans and talk about the games? No? Ok.

10 Sep 2026 12:16:13
They had to sort the finances first - partly for SCR and partly to get us on a sound footing. Anyone who wanted them to come in and throw cash around like Moshiri did is crackers, in my opinion.

10 Sep 2026 12:17:10
Well said, Brown shoes - they have paid off the debt, signed some good players, are playing good football and have one of the best stadiums in the World - let's just support the players on the pitch who are doing a great job at the minute.

10 Sep 2026 14:51:38
You only have to look at the estimated value of the club is now from when they took over. Would it be nice to see them attend matches, yes, are they improving the stability of the club, yes.

10 Sep 2026 16:59:39
Can you see us challenging for the title under Their ownership? No.

10 Sep 2026 17:40:29
Not now, but in 3 or 4 seasons, who knows?

10 Sep 2026 18:32:55
Yea you're right, maybe we would have been better off staying at Goodison and looking forward to constant relegation battles.

10 Sep 2026 10:11:55
Just watched Seamus on the overlap. What a legend he is.
