We won yet I don’t feel ecstatic…

The Luton win has taken the wind out my sail a bit. That coupled with an imminent points deduction and the fact we won out of luck rather than dominating the game or playing well.

To be an Evertonian hey!

{Ed025's Note - tell me about it BR..

I mentioned to a friend yesterday that I'd take a fluke 1-0 victory as long as we got the 3 points. A win is a win at the minute, regardless of how it comes. I didn't think we played too bad. Pressed them well, which ultimately led to us getting a fluke goal.

Very bad decisions yet again by Dyche. He should of brought on fresh legs when they went down to 10 men, but he waits until the 83rd minute and brings on 2 players that won't chase the ball down like the ones he took off. Beto is not the player for me. He is lazy, got no speed or strength and falls over far too easily for a man of his size. But a win is a win and very vital at this moment.

07 Apr 2024 08:47:51
I must have been watching a different game?

07 Apr 2024 11:36:57
A win is a win, at the moment I don't care how we win, but we aren't playing half as well as the first half of the season. We've lost our spark. If Burnley come to goodison and played aswell as us, that is a concern. I pray we win our 6 pointers, because we're going to need the points. especially if we get another deduction. There's more fight in the forest and Luton teams than we have, that bothers me, especially as we're facing both of them b4 the season ends! We won but I'm concerned!

07 Apr 2024 19:27:12
Agree tomtom was a terrible match yesterday especially at home but on other hand its 3 points is worrying this next point deduction and am just hoping we can make try pick up as many points between now and end season hopefully fingers crossed and stay up but changes need to made and starts from top then if dyche stays or goes which in my view i can see him staying with us having no money and then players need moving out think keane alli gomes holgate maupay to name few can get our wages down if we can shift them on like.

06 Apr 2024 20:34:06
Well a win is a win but we had 37% possession and 200 accurate passes verses Burnley's 403.
Now I know Ed025 we have had this discussion before but at home verses a team that are next to bottom and have only won four games all season!
If anything these statistics just about sums up our tactics under this Manager. We may have to put up with him because of our financial situation, but longer term, get rid ASAP.

{Ed025's Note - you are preaching to the converted Mike mate..

06 Apr 2024 18:10:38
I have to agree with Ed025 I was all for Sean Dyche but now after seeing what has been happening on the pitch with Team selection subs etc for so long, I too think its time for him to move on and we got someone else in, not a clue who but Potter seems a contender.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Apr 2024 18:41:55
Agree GB, have thought the same for some time. Regardless of what happens, hoping we stay up of course, a change in direction is required. A clear out and a reset onto the right path towards some sort of style of play. Dacoure, Young and Guaye to start with, and as much as I love Seamus, he needs to take a step back too.

06 Apr 2024 19:00:24
We’re brassic and potentially could go into administration.

There is little to no chance that dyche is sacked and paid off. All the hiring and firing has helped to get us into the mess we’re in. We’ll be with him until the end of his contract which is 2025.

06 Apr 2024 19:08:42
Sad thing is: we can’t (physically) afford for him to go. We’re in enough financial trouble as it is without paying off another manager and staff.

When will there be a silver lining?

Can see us losing another 4+ points to PSR. Such a shame Luton won - I’d have fancied our chances of survival if we were 7 points clear?

06 Apr 2024 19:42:23
Not so sure I think when and if we get new owners they will want to be well away from all this uncertainty of staying up or going down and a new manager will be high on their list, let’s just hope the appeal will be in our favour we are due some luck surely plus we have a gap in the table so let’s keep it, and fingers x we will be safe.

06 Apr 2024 20:04:53
SD has to go, but if 777 do buy us, then my worry is they will keep him, regardless of which league we are in. If another buyer comes in with no sporting background, one can only hope they install a board who knows the football world.

06 Apr 2024 20:25:51
Our luck has to change Nick.

06 Apr 2024 22:06:04
At least they gave you a good birthday GB ?.

07 Apr 2024 08:53:05
If we get relegated then we need to keep him. If we stay up then we should go for another manager. Maybe Potter….

07 Apr 2024 14:27:55
I can see us ending up with Moyes before the start of next season. Probably only because he will be the only one to touch us as our job is career suicide just now. That's providing he leaves the hammers as is expected according to reports.

06 Apr 2024 18:11:44
We all know that was all about getting 3 points
However the performance was shocking and got worse when Burnley went down to 10 men
Plus I lost count how many times we were caught offside ( BASICS)

06 Apr 2024 17:02:54
Well we won. That's about all I can say about that.

{Ed025's Note - i just cant watch us NFM, my stomach goes in knots and i must owe our swear box about £100,000 mate, football is supposed to be enjoyable but for me its a bloody nightmare..

06 Apr 2024 17:07:30
Spot on lads.

06 Apr 2024 17:09:08
Rubbish team selection, rubbish hoofball tactics, rubbish performance, rubbish subs (why was Dacoure left on when he was having a poor game? ) , lucky result - Dyche out!

06 Apr 2024 17:16:50
3 mile walk and been asleep till now. 1-0 I will take all day long. The bloke is still a tosser though. Looking at stats Youngs' are the worse. No fing imagination. Fingers crossed for a slap on the wrist or suspended. Heard they argued double jeopardy, let's see how that goes.

06 Apr 2024 17:17:54
A win is a win but I agree Ed we make it hard for ourselves and I s%#t myself every game. Can't believe Luton won as well. Hopefully Forest get beat.

{Ed025's Note - but if we survive will it be the same crap again next season TB?, it seems that we are on the back foot from the get go and i cant watch that week in week out mate, yes our players are poor but a lot of that is down to tactics and lack of ambition from the manager, my only hope is that we survive and get rid of that dinosaur Dyche who has basically turned us into Burnley, mind you thats a terrible slur on them..

06 Apr 2024 17:29:14
I attribute today's win not to dickhead Dyche, but Guernsey Blue. Before the game the players agreed to give him a win and get his prediction correct (for once) . Well done GB ?.

06 Apr 2024 17:44:21
Awful game but cheers Nick.

06 Apr 2024 17:47:33
Ed 025: I thought you liked SD?

{Ed025's Note - he was doing well Skylark for what was at his disposal but since the new year he has lost the plot mate, he has turned us into Burnley and sets us up not to lose rather than to win, i dont think the players are happy either going by their demeanor and he needs to go imo..

06 Apr 2024 17:54:53
Totally agree Ed. Burnley played better football. All we did was lump it up for Lewin to win the header or hit it long for the oldest player on the pitch to have a foot chase. Harrison whilst he's not my favourite or has done anything for a starting place looks better in that system (and that's saying something) .
Gomez is definitely our best ball player and I thought he was trying but with no pace or movement off the ball what is he supposed to do.
We just need to stay in the league this season even by having these poor quality games and review in the summer. Only thing is that we'll keep him. ??.

{Ed025's Note - lets hope not mate..

06 Apr 2024 17:56:44
3 points was vital today so that was pleasing. That's about all that can be said about the game really. Started brightly without really threatening but that was about it.
Young was disappointing, maybe him starting will give Harrison a kick up the backside that he needed. Beto, is that man really a pro footballer? I wince whenever he starts or is about to be brought on. I like his work ethic but that's all the praise I can give him.
Gomes had a decent game and JB was superb yet again.
I suppose at this point of the season I'm just happy getting 3 points, the way we play is incidental. Let's face it, considering how we've been this season, we aren't suddenly going to start battering teams by 3 or 4 goals. Christ, how good would it be to score 2 goals in a game?

06 Apr 2024 19:18:46
Sd has to go either way at end of season doucs was dead on his feet young was offering nothing yet again! Burnley down To ten men and left it till the 82nd minute to Make any changes and still left doucs
On and took off our main threat in dcl
He blows my mind week in week out I’m sick to death of the boring long ball no imagination rubbish we are forced to put up with.

06 Apr 2024 14:44:32
Our right side has penalty given away all over it.

06 Apr 2024 14:08:12
4-4-1-1 again. Hardly going for it are we.
I give up.
Happy DCL is in there, however midfield has no bite to it.

06 Apr 2024 14:32:31
With Coleman and Young on the right and Gomes in the middle, Burnley could do us serious damage. I've lost all faith in Dyche. When he was at Burnley he said Everton did'nt know how to win. Seems that applies to him as well at our expence.

06 Apr 2024 14:32:32
Sick of saying this but at home we should be playing with two strikers.

06 Apr 2024 12:40:09
Time for these Everton players to stand up and be counted, whoever gets the nod to start needs to leave everything on the pitch, give something for the fans to feed off and make a tired Goodison bouncing again. UTFT ?.

06 Apr 2024 13:35:50
100% Andy.

06 Apr 2024 13:51:13
For the first time in weeks I’m feeling like we might get 3 points today. COYB.

06 Apr 2024 14:33:46
Well I hope you’re right BR. But again a negative team selection for me.

06 Apr 2024 14:39:57
Then I saw the lineup….

06 Apr 2024 10:59:07
If Dyche goes with the same starting eleven as Newcastle then we are doomed.
Have to start playing with two strikers at home, put teams under pressure and don't allow them time on the ball.
Onana, Gomes, Gana and Gardner midfield. Drop our two wide men far to slow. Keep the ball on the floor and play through the channels.
Back for picks itself.
Or change nothing and keep punting it long to the loan striker.

06 Apr 2024 14:19:30
Well there’s your answer. Prepare to have a sore neck.

06 Apr 2024 09:36:05
Has to be a win today after that well earned point on Tues and with our crowd as usual giving their all,3 points will be massive and put on well on the road to staying up, Bring it on.

{Ed025's Note - massive game this today GB, a win will give me confidence that we will stay up but a defeat or a draw will have the opposite effect mate, a lot will depend on how we go about the attacking set up and who actually plays, but i live in hope...until 5 oclock..

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2024 10:35:11
Think we win today Ed, I will go 2-0 keep the lad Fofana quiet and should be ok.

More worried about the 2nd charge and possible points deduction Ed, as believe if we escape any points deduction this time we will stay up (just) . But that may well change come like yasen at 5pm.

A defeat and dare not think of repercussions for Dyche.

{Ed025's Note - yeah Mocker like you my sanity depends on a win mate.. :)

06 Apr 2024 11:14:29
Pickford
Godfrey tarks jarrod Coleman myko
Garner Gomes onana
DCL Beto that would be my starting 11 today lads massive day big 3 pointer COYB ??.

06 Apr 2024 10:43:18
Deja Vu all over again Ed. This is a massive game as you say and one the lads should win, no excuses. It's the hope that does ya.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Mocker, we all just want a team we can be proud of mate, playing decent football would do even if we were not winning all the time, we need to see something that gets you off your feet and applauding but i certainly have not seen much of that this season..

06 Apr 2024 12:26:42
Yep totally mate, just want to see a spark and connection, this season has felt worse than others. tbf to the lads they imo played some decent stuff in a lot of matches and was unlucky with stats backing it up, then went on that 4 game run with 3 wins and draw and spirits were up then last 3 months just nosedived, coincidence with off field stuff maybe, but can't keep banging that drum, the lads need stand up starting today and as much as I try be realistic and balanced with my view anything less than 100% commitment today and 3 PTS, then my Dyche has to go wether be now or the summer as if he can't galvanized them for a must win and expected win today then clearly the rumours are true of a dressing room split against him.
