Once again Beto absolutely ineffective first half and as for Barry did he actually touch the ball in the second half both need to go into the under 21s for as long as possible and Ndiaye move to the front we are losing points hand over fist just change it even if Braiden Graham some playing time can't carry on with the 2 Bs itc costing us big time.

Struggle to see how Barry gets criticism last night, came on, got no service and was still more effective than Beto.

As for starting Graham, he’s a kid who is not ready for the premier league, he will be ruined if he starts games. But this is a constant with our fans again, “throw the kids in! ”, heard it with Cannon, Simms, McAleny, Duffus, Henen and Long. In the end none of them were or are premier league quality or ever will be.

30 Sep 2025 18:11:02
Funny that a certain Rooney started at 16 did it ruin him, of course it bloody didn’t what a load of codswallop mate.

30 Sep 2025 18:44:09
Like it or not Beto and Barry are our first choice strikers. Barry is a work in progress, very young new league/ country etc. you don't get to be a French U21 striker by being rubbish.

That said they are not scoring. Ndiaye as a different 9 option is a decent option. Dibbling and Alcaraz can come in.
I'd even consider Alcaraz up top to see how he does.

Rb, if Rohl can get fit i'd move Garner there.

30 Sep 2025 19:12:12
Agree Bunkbeds they are what we have but we can change it with Ndiaye Dibling or Alcaraz as you say mate put Barry in the under 21s for a bit.

30 Sep 2025 19:15:50
So your example is a freak talent who is arguably the greatest English player of all time? So your 1 example beats all the countless others? Okay.

Louis Saha was a great French striker we signed. Thierno Barry is French, therefore he will be great too. Thank you.

30 Sep 2025 19:45:22
Not at all freak, also that young lad 17 yr old didn’t he score Liverpools winner a couple of weeks ago oh yes another freak, not having that it’s just rubbish thankyou.

30 Sep 2025 20:08:32
Macheda scored a winner at 17 for Man United, he went on to be a league 1 player at best.

Not all teenage players are the same, both in terms of quality and maturity.

So your solutions to our striker problems have been:

A 17 year old who has never played professional football at any decent level and Dan James, a winger notorious for having no end product.

Genius.

30 Sep 2025 20:23:21
Not at all one of many on here that have been mentioned just saying some make it and a lot don’t.

01 Oct 2025 17:54:43
Braiden’s also best in the number 10 roll. Throwing him up front would be a lot of pressure for the young lad, with that being said I still see him being involved with the first team before the season’s out. He’s a gifted player. I think a big difference between him and Rooney is that Wayne was built like a 30 year old at that age where as Braiden’s fairly lightweight.
Can’t wait to see more of the kid though, it won’t be long.
Beto’s had a couple of bad games (including the last) but is clearly the best we have, at least till January anyway.
We all knew we needed a right back and a striker in the summer but we all also knew everything wasn’t going to be done in one window. We done a lot of business and we are better than last season.
I’d rather be watching this team than last seasons.
3 points on Sunday and don’t settle for anything less
COYB ??.

30 Sep 2025 12:03:40
So another 2 points lost and not for the first time. Yet again the same failings from both the players and the management. We can't continue with Beto and Barry Chuckle up front as it will continue to cost us points.
I think the way forward until we can get a proper striker in January is to move Ndiaye into a central role, with Dibling on the right and obviously Grealish on the left with KDH behind them. As we now have some decent footballers we should keep the ball on the floor and play it into feet. I really don't see the point in hoofing the ball up the pitch only for us to lose possession and give the opposition the opportunity to punish us.
We can't persist as we are, as all momentum will be lost. The option is there within the squad to make positive changes until matters can be addressed in January but I'm not sure I have the confidence in Moyes to do so and feel that he may continue with his policy of rotating the alleged strikers.

{Ed025's Note - spot on for me Shropshire mate..

30 Sep 2025 13:43:09
Well said Shropshie but I doubt our scouts would recognise a proper striker if he bit them in thecarse.

30 Sep 2025 14:33:11
" we can get a proper striker in January" how many years have we said that mate?

30 Sep 2025 11:26:44
The club made some great additions over the summer, but a proven goal scorer, and a right back, surely should have been priorities.
In a year, or so, Barry, might turn out to be a player, and the same might be said of other signings, but the need in not a good performer, in 18 months, the need is for right now.
Would give Beto 10 out of ten for effort, but 2 out of 10 for technical ability, and O'Brien has done a good job, as far as it goes, but he is a six foot five C/ back, and against a quick tricky winger he is always going to be found wanting. Thing is, if us the great unwashed can see these obvious weaknesses, then surly these problems must have been obvious to team of professional coaches, and should have taken as first prioritys.

We may have brought in 9 players this summer but only 2 of them started last night. So it's hardly surprising we are getting what we've had for the last 6 years or so, 2 good performances 2 poor ones and half a dozen bang average ones mixed in with them. Also I reckon Gana's age is catching up with him now as he seems half a yard off it whereas in the past he was all over the man with the ball.

It was a disappointing night last night. We should have come away with all three points but to be fair to West Ham, they had the better chances and should have grabbed the win.

I'm just going to keep banging on about it till we finally get one which hopefully, is in my lifetime, we need a right back.

O'Brien was shocking yesterday. Coming up against players with pace he looks like the CB he is but it also hinders the attacking play down the right hand side. I don't know what the problem is with getting one. I know the CEO mentioned if one was good enough we would have got one but that is pure BS.

Then the striker situation. You just can't play Beto. Lovely fella but he has no ball control at all and I don't think I've seen him win a headed challenge, ever. As for Barry, he held the ball and passed to others and won a couple of headers but he is not getting any service in the box at all. It took about 10 mins for him to get a touch. I don't think he's the answer at all but Beto is a complete liability

Finally Jack. Love seeing him play and he keeps the ball really well, draws fouls and does make chances. However, he needs to cross much earlier sometimes and realise he doesn't need to hold it as long as he does. If he mixed it up more and crossed from deep as well as getting to the line, then he'd be much more unpredictable. I just hope he stays motivated throughout the season and not get bored and frustrated.

Its still early in the season and plenty of games left. I still feel like we'll be 13th to 9th this season but we're still two more summer windows from being a decent team.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2025 10:30:59
The this is mate grealish has nobody he trusts to cross to imagine going from pinging balls in to halland to crossing balls into beto if say halland was playing last nite instead of beto he would of got a hat trick the 2ay west ham were so open at the back.

30 Sep 2025 15:14:05
Why is it BS?

30 Sep 2025 18:10:54
Because we've been after a right back for 3 years and you can't tell me in a world of 7billion people there isn't one good enough to play RB for Everton!

I'm pretty sure this RB situation has been talked about in public before once or twice or may be it's just been in my head.

30 Sep 2025 08:37:05
Seems to me, that other than Garner no one wants to shoot.

Ndiaye is a good on the right but not a goal threat like he is on the left or through the middle.

When you look at it, Garner, Grealish, Ndiaye and KDH are all playing well but I'm just not sure the balance is quite right.

As for the front 2, just so bad I don't know how we keep finding these players.

Draw in the end was fair, but should've been out of sight by 60 mins when the game turned, and agree with the post below - it was obvious pretty quickly once WH came into the game that O'Brien being high up the pitch and not having the pace to get back was causing all the problem, so why not tweak the tactics then, make subs, instruct Gueye or Garner to cover behind or anything.

Watched the match last night was also in everton live page disappointed we didn't win I have been backing beto on here numerous times but the lad can't hold the ball up and he can't take his chances Barry is still early days but one thing that does baffle me if we can see that west ham was going to equalise why can't the manager see it that sub bench can be you're game changer you can either make subs to kill a match off or chase a win if we are 1.0 down or at least try I like moyes really do but he definitely needs to bring on the subs earlier or tweak the formations during games for me.

Couldn't beat Wolves who are bottom of the league, couldn't beat W Ham who are second from bottom. Continually being told players we've bought aren't ready. Play a forward who is clearly not good enough but play him anyway. What the feck is going on?

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Sep 2025 08:30:42
We did beat Wolves though in the league?.

30 Sep 2025 11:05:26
But not in the one that really mattered eh.

30 Sep 2025 16:00:23
League doesn't matter eh!

30 Sep 2025 16:04:52
So the league Cup matters more than the Premier league? Ok.

Just lacking that finishing touch.

30 Sep 2025 09:40:20
the strikers have had absolutely zero chances created for them.

30 Sep 2025 16:01:19
Been out of the Country wblue2?

29 Sep 2025 22:00:36
Moyes.

Never won at anfield in his career, set the team up to fail.

Rests the team in 1 of our 2 chances of a trophy, for no reason, no game for 6 days. Lose.

Plays Beto for 70 minutes at home to west ham, negative as soon as 1-0 up as usual.

Sick of dinosaur negative managers, when do we get a forward thinking proactive one.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2025 22:05:48
Other than changing Beto for Barry, what would you have him do?

{Ed025's Note - play Dibling on the right and Ndiaye in the middle JB?, lets be honest it could not be any worse than having Hinge and Bracket up there mate..

29 Sep 2025 22:05:54
When can you start PB?

29 Sep 2025 22:39:47
Im not paid millions but i reckon i'd try some different stuff if i was. Ndiaye holds the ball up insanely well, play into his feet at false 9 and give dibling a go wide. Every single ball into beto in the air or feet, we lose it unless his first touch is that bad it bounces 10 yards away to our midfield looking like a pass.

Benitez, Dyche, Moyes all negative managers known for stabilising clubs.

29 Sep 2025 22:55:28
It’s hardly a negative tactic to play one of your strikers up front was my point.

{Ed025's Note - i suppose that would depend on how good they were JB and what they contribute to the team mate..

30 Sep 2025 07:48:59
I would rather play Keane up front than Beto or Barry. That’s how bad they are.

30 Sep 2025 07:49:59
Beto or Barry are not the answer they are both totally ineffective as I’ve said countless times time fo go wth Ndiaaye up front.

30 Sep 2025 09:13:19
It’s like playing with 10 men when they’re on the pitch.

30 Sep 2025 10:01:45
See how well bowen played up top for West ham when they struggled for goals, time to drop the donkeys and play illiman up top,
