Moise Kean to PSG on loan, PSG picking up his wages.

Paul Joyce is saying we are set to sign an exciting 19yr old left back back from Marseille- Niels Nkounkou. never heard of him but hope its a shrewd bit of business, especially for free.

Bunkbeds

1.) 02 Jul 2020 12:25:30
Confirmed.

{Ed002's Note - Compensation needs to be agreed with Marseille and Brest still, but it won't cost too much - they had a discussion with Marseille over another player and could have resolved it then. I don't think he has ever played for the first team.}

2.) 02 Jul 2020 14:09:06
ed 002 what's the chances of us putting bid in for alfredo morelos from rangers would he suit the premier league he sees more red cards than yellows in the spfl not sure on him if am honest like mate if it is true.

{Ed002's Note - Alfredo Morelos (S) Although Rangers don't want to sell, there have been equiries for Morelos from Aston Villa and Crystal Palace (way down their list). But his agent has been hawking him around Italy speaking with at least Napoli (who have no interest and are finalising a deal for Victor Osimhen), Atalanta (who continue to work on a deal for Adolfo Gaich), Lazio (who are expected to have Sergej Milinkovic-Savic money available) and Roma. A move to the Middle East (Qatar) is not going to happen. This leaves a player who is being made available by his agent and not his for about €20M. It is hard to see why Everton would want the grief of the guy. I am not aware of any approach by Everton at this time.}

3.) 02 Jul 2020 15:20:18
no worries ed022 thanks for the reply.

4.) 02 Jul 2020 17:59:14
Is this a Brands signing Ed?

{Ed002's Note - This is a kid for the Under 23s and it was Brands who spoke with the lady from Marseille, so it is reasonable to assume it was.}

5.) 02 Jul 2020 20:07:26
Hi ed did we get a positive answer about the player who I assume is Kamara? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

6.) 03 Jul 2020 02:39:56
Ed.002 you mean Kamara? How the discussion was end up?

{Ed002's Note - Kamara is not moving to Everton.}

Just seen Nzonzi name linked again in the ECHO. who's been linked more than him in recent years?

Riquelme? Rojo?

Or is he our most regularly linked player?

Bunkbeds

1.) 15 Jan 2020 13:02:33
funny enough we've been linkeed with rojo again today, apparently asked about a 6 month loan.

2.) 15 Jan 2020 16:54:17
UTD must see us a potential threat and are trying to sabotage us with him. No thanks.

3.) 15 Jan 2020 19:56:48
Everton for Everton got to be close.

01 Aug 2019 12:29:53
The Guardian is saying we might be in for Ratikic? Really? Wowzers.

Bunkbeds

1.) 01 Aug 2019 12:49:25
I think were the go to club for the rags when Barcelona want rid of a player, again i'd love to be wrong but can't see it at all.

2.) 01 Aug 2019 13:18:24
Neither can I but would love to have him.

3.) 01 Aug 2019 17:53:16
What a player I know he is getting older but what a player he would be for 2 seasons loan deal perhaps, Brands seems to deal well with Barcelona.

4.) 01 Aug 2019 17:54:48
He's a quality player on his day but i fear those days are few and far between now. To be honest i think the pace of the PL will be just too much for him.

5.) 01 Aug 2019 18:44:29
I thought the same when wolves signed moutinho he seemed to deal with the pace of the prem well.

6.) 02 Aug 2019 02:28:14
Rakitic is a class player, i'd take him if he can be a part of Brands vision of the club.

19 Jul 2019 10:32:57
Seen a link to Tousart from Lyon (I think) , I haven't heard of him before and not seen him play. Does anyone know if he better than what we have? Or even if we are interested? As we are linked to so many players currently.

Did we move any players out yesterday?

BBC Sports App reporting that an idea to reduce the Premier league to 18 clubs is being considered, its part of the possible bailout proposal for the EFL. Thankfully the report saying Everton would likely get a place at the special table with the 'big six' as we have been an ever present in the Premier league.

Bunkbeds

1.) 11 Oct 2020 20:56:09
It's utd and Liverpool pushing for it two classes clubs it won't happen.

2.) 11 Oct 2020 22:29:51
It's a power grab disguised as C.V. profit sharing - it's disgusting.

3.) 11 Oct 2020 23:45:07
"First they came for the socialists". Could be a slippery slope if this goes through I think. Consolidation of power by the Top 6 before an inevitable European Super League.

4.) 12 Oct 2020 09:00:01
It will be interesting to see how it develops, it is certainly a power play by those who will be at the top.

5.) 12 Oct 2020 18:53:38
'Project Big Picture' they must be laughing up their sleeves Project Coup D'etat' ' lol They are offering a carrot on a stick to the lower league clubs with financial stress, to place their clubs as the 'de facto' unopposed decision makers .
Shame on the greedy SOB's.

Thoughts on likely team tonight?

I think we should go for a strong line-up and with one slightly left field selection, due to playing Brighton next up in league.

Tonight's team

Pickford

Kenny
Mina
Keane
Delph

Doucoure
Sigi
Bernard

Gordon
Kean
Iwobi

Subs
Virginia
Digne
Coleman
Gomes
Walcott
DCL
Richie

I'd rest Digne and actually play him CB v Brighton with Nykondou at LB as Brighton are playing with very pacey tricky forwards this season, neither their first choice CF are over 6ft.

Bunkbeds

1.) 30 Sep 2020 15:24:52
I don't think Nkonkou can be dropped for this game, he's earned his place.

2.) 30 Sep 2020 16:00:56
Palace and West Brom played with pacy tricky forwards and Mina and Keane did fine for the most part

Nkounkou cannot be dropped with how well he is playing, Delph at left back basically kills all our attack down that side.

3.) 30 Sep 2020 16:27:54
I hear ya regarding nykondou, but I would be playing him in the league against Brighton.

4.) 30 Sep 2020 16:28:49
not dropping him, saving him for Brighton.

5.) 30 Sep 2020 17:01:00
Not a bad team bunk beds but would have a few changes:
Would go for Virginia or lossl in goal.
As others said Nkounkou undroppable and would be a travesty to put Delph in instead of him.
Wouldn’t have Kean start - we want to sin this game would rather start Simms than Kean.
Rest of your team looks decent.

6.) 30 Sep 2020 17:45:57
I'm happy if Nykondou plays, I think he is a fantastic talent. As I said it was a bit left field in thinking with Brighton in mind, they are small and tricky. I said Delph more to save legs rather than really like him as a player, that said he could easily be a solid option at LB, if not exciting.

7.) 30 Sep 2020 17:52:31
Or push nykondou further up on the left and switch Gordon to a central or right sided option.

16 Sep 2020 18:56:15
My predicted team for Salford

Pickford
Kenny
Keane
Gibson/ Braithwaite
Nkounkou

Allan
Davies
Bernard

Walcott
Kean
Iwobi

Subs
Virginia
Gibson/ Braithwaite
Mina
Doucoure
Gomes
Gordon
Richie
DCL
Rodriguez

If doing well and comfortable bring off Allan to save his legs for next prem games

Give kean full 90min unless playing awful hopefully give Gordon at least 45min

Ps I know I've basically picked rest of squad likely to be considered for games this season for the bench ha ha ha.

Bunkbeds

Nope class of 2019-20. Look at for how effective the midfield is playing against there peers.

2.) 16 Sep 2020 19:44:14
I wasn't that far off to be fair ha ha.

{Ed025's Note - it was a damn good guess bunk beds..

3.) 16 Sep 2020 19:56:19
Iwobi nowhere to be seen, is he injured or maybe leaving?

{Ed025's Note - hopefully the latter mike..

08 Sep 2020 15:50:06
Seeing a few reports that Tomori, CB from Chelsea is close to signing on season long loan. if true surely means Braithwaite and or Gibson going out on loan as well. Whilst I don't think CB is a particular area of weakness, Tomori is further along in his development and ahead of Braithwaite and Gibson at this stage

Hopefully see Doucoure in a blue shirt soon as well.

Dentie

I'd happily let Braithwaite and Gibson play and yes they've done nothing wrong, but Tomori is probably better at mo. If we get him for a season they can go on loan and gain experience or we can play 3 at back which given amount of games, injuries and form both our young lads would likely get good game time🤷‍♂️.

I like our CB on the whole but he is a very good player. if we kept Braithwaite and Gibson we could set up with a back 3. 3-4-3

Pickford
Holgate Keane Tomori

Coleman Allan Doucoure Digne

James DCL Richie

Although with current squad (including Doucoure) could have 4-2-3-1

Pickford
Coleman keane Holgate Digne

Gomes Allan

James Doucoure Richie

DCL

Or 4-3-3

Pickford

Coleman Keane Holgate Digne

Doucoure Gomes Allan

James DCL Richie

Or 3-4-1-2

Pickford
Keane Mina Holgate

Kenny Doucoure Allan Digne

James

DCL Richie

Subs from

Lossol/ other gk
Tomori
Kenny
Braithwaite/ Mina/ Gibson
Delph
Sigi
Gbamin (when/ if not injured)
Walcott
Gordon
Bernard
Iwobi
Kean
Simms

If we get these players it allows us the have various formations and options with better players.

yeah had high hopes for him when he signed, if he stays might be best used as back up LB, give the new young signing bit of time to bed in then he can push for 2st team action.

Yep happy to get that point in the end, played better in 2nd half. Thought Godfrey had a good debut in very tough circumstances. Thought Gomes was very poor, Mina rubbish for their 2nd goal, Richie deserved the red card and Pickford was lucky, Brilliant and a liability, Keane had another very good game.
