Article in Everton rumours says we are in for a forward from Nantes called Moses Simon apparently he is pushing his agent to make it happen and we are pushing the deal from our end according to the article any of the Ed’s any knowledge on this one or fellow posters with inside info?
Thanks in advance.

Big C

{Ed025's Note - nothing my end just yet Big C, but that means very little at this stage mate..

1.) 24 Apr 2025 18:44:13
Cheers Ed thanks for your reply, keep us posted if you hear anything. Also that should be in ‘Everton rumours’ not rumours damn autocorrect.

{Ed025's Note - thats ok mate..

2.) 24 Apr 2025 19:09:09
That change from news to rumours appears to be happening at your end ed.

{Ed025's Note - that is probably down to me mate, i have got fingers like a blind cobbler.. :)

3.) 24 Apr 2025 19:17:44
Moses Simon seems to have been around for ages. Decent player. I read he's pushing his agent for move because he wants to play under Moyes.

4.) 25 Apr 2025 10:42:42
Isn’t he 30 this year? No real experience outside of France which isn’t exactly the most competitive league. I am hoping we move away from this type of signing unless he is a cheap stop gap until we can get in someone young with potential that has resale value.

5.) 25 Apr 2025 18:30:54
He can play anywhere over the front line. Good player and whilst he's unproven at prem level, a lot of players are until they end up signing. Would be a decent addition.

6.) 26 Apr 2025 13:22:03
Not the wide man I would like us to go after tbh. End product is poor and inconsistent. Good physical attributes but nothing great from a technical perspective.

09 Apr 2025 09:15:25
Echo saying us and Brighton are looking at Delap £40m bid apparently.

Big C

1.) 09 Apr 2025 09:37:02
Apparently City have a buy back option on him that I'd be surprised they don't use, to either use themselves or sell for a profit.

Love seeing us get the lad. ?.

2.) 09 Apr 2025 19:56:46
Alot of clubs will be interested when it's finally confirmed Ipswich have been relagted especially at that price. can he turn city down if they used the buyback clause.

3.) 09 Apr 2025 20:52:54
Not sure on that Ron mate, read they have first refusal at £40million. Lads going to be top drawer so may buy and loan out for season as doubt he will want play 2nd fiddle to Haaland, he has strong chance of being Kane's long term replacement he's that good.

4.) 09 Apr 2025 22:35:16
He’ll move, but not to us I’m afraid.

5.) 10 Apr 2025 10:04:19
Don't be afraid JB, be confident you just never know.

6.) 10 Apr 2025 11:30:54
How can you know that JB mate.

7.) 10 Apr 2025 12:35:06
It would be some coup tbf GB. a lot will be interested with better salary to offer and European football, depends what way the lad wants to go. I'd be surprised and very happy but not expecting.

8.) 10 Apr 2025 14:18:32
Ok, for the uber pedantic posters, there’s a very low chance that he’d sign for us over the many other Prem teams that would match/ better our offer. Good strikers are gold dust at the moment. Being positive does not change the facts of the matter.

9.) 10 Apr 2025 17:22:07
Wish we had a list of potential strikers incoming that is based on actual possibility.

I don’t think Delap will be on our list unless Rory is coming out of retirement….

10.) 10 Apr 2025 18:43:28
We’d be dangerous from throw ins BR.

11.) 10 Apr 2025 23:20:03
Can’t stand Delap, he is a sly twat just like James Beattie who I went to school with. Hated watching us play when Beattie was on the pitch and the same would be true if Delap were to sign for us. Would rather get behind nice guys like Beto, Ndiaye, and Alcaraz.

12.) 11 Apr 2025 07:37:07
Can't see city letting him join utd but who knows. and he will want to join a team playing European football no doubt.

13.) 11 Apr 2025 18:14:52
Too many nice guys won't get us anywhere mate.

14.) 13 Apr 2025 22:43:18
If he goes back to City then maybe a cheeky swap. Doucs for Haarland.

17 Mar 2025 15:59:53
The echo have us linked/ interested in a young Rotherham defender Harrison Duncan, any of the Ed’s know anything about this and have we enquired before. Thank you in advance.

Big C

{Ed025's Note - hes only a 16yo kid Big C, one for the future maybe..

1.) 17 Mar 2025 17:32:53
The next john stones they are calling him.

2.) 17 Mar 2025 21:57:05
Well if he turned out like Branthwaite that would be a result.

3.) 17 Mar 2025 21:57:13
They said that about Holgate….

4.) 18 Mar 2025 09:41:16
If only we sold him for £35m eh?

03 Mar 2025 23:29:44
Apparently we’re looking at a midfielder from Marseille Luis Henriquez, do any of the Ed’s or fellow posters know anything about this one? Thanks in advance.

Big C

1.) 04 Mar 2025 11:40:53
Yeah read that too Big C, he’s supposed to be quick anyone that can ping good crosses into the box would be a big help eh.

2.) 04 Mar 2025 11:42:38
Brazilian winger @ Marseille mate, predominantly left from what i remember

we've been linked before pretty sure, but think he's having a good year this year in comparison to last few

don't really know much else.

3.) 05 Mar 2025 16:57:33
Yextor was saying he was the elite type player he would sign. Think that was previous link.

4.) 06 Mar 2025 10:40:10
Thanks everyone.

5.) 06 Mar 2025 13:45:46
Sounds like a Harrison replacement to me….

6.) 07 Mar 2025 14:58:20
Iv heard he is meant to be a cracking player.

03 Feb 2025 23:20:45

Just reading in the echo about the new board appointment a none voting role but to advise on finances and to develop the club on and off the pitch by the looks of things his company manages 30billion in assets.
Hopefully we now have proper owners and are not a billionaire’s toy.

2 points from mathematical safety with todays results and if Newcastle beat Man United we go up to 13th . Happy weekend blues.

Big C

1.) 13 Apr 2025 16:08:30
Best weekend in yonks mate.

2.) 13 Apr 2025 18:03:18
We are on our way to 13th lads. This Utd team are bloody awful, why on earth would Branthwaite want to join that car crash?

3.) 13 Apr 2025 18:08:32
Yes GB. I’d second that. Looks like every result is in our favour. Man U conceding four as I write.

4.) 13 Apr 2025 18:31:41
And we’re 13th ?.

5.) 13 Apr 2025 18:32:13
Spurs are the same as well BMD mate.

07 Mar 2025 16:40:11
Club statement on leadership changes, the guy from Leeds will be the new CEO, Colin Chong will oversee the development of the area surrounding BMD and BMD, Kevin Thelwell going at the end of his contract and a new structure for recruitment including Moyse . Good to see the Friedkins getting the communication to the Fans early, I feel in days of yore that we would have found out after it had all happened.

Big C

1.) 07 Mar 2025 17:14:49
Wasn’t expecting that. Let’s see who they appoint on the sporting leadership team. Hope we are moving forward with all this.

2.) 07 Mar 2025 17:36:28
Just hope Moyes doesn’t get too much of a say in the recruitment - for far too long we’ve bought players for managers who then get sacked and the players they brought in are not in the new managers plans.

This has left us with a mish mash of players.

We should be recruiting for the club and get the managers to manage the players that suit the club system rather than suit the manager.

Otherwise all looks positive and nice to see Chong being kept on as he’s done well with his role.

Hopefully onwards and upwards.

3.) 07 Mar 2025 18:50:28
Surely the manager picks the players that he wants to fit into his system.
Why can't we give Moyes a chance with a few bob in his picket. I think we forget that he bought some decent players over the years on a restrictive budget and i would put a few of them in out team for next year.

{Ed025's Note - myself i would like there to be a joint decision between the DOF and the manager on incoming players BL..

4.) 07 Mar 2025 20:09:00
DM has a decent track record when buying players so I'd trust him more than most when it comes to bringing in talent that suits the club.
I've said it before in here, the DoF has brought us nothing but trouble. Having two people wanting different players has cost us dearly in the previous regime, both financially and on the pitch. I'd rather go back to letting a manager use his own trusted scouting network so he can live and die by his own sword.

5.) 07 Mar 2025 22:11:59
The problem with buying players managers want is if you go through managers as quickly as we do you end up with a load of players managers don’t want and then you spend more money recruiting new players.

If guaranteed Moyes will be with us for the same length of time as a recruits contract then fine - unfortunately our players out last their managers and get left with a mish mash of players.

We did make some decent signings under Moyes but also some poor ones, same as him at Utd and West Ham - not all are great.

Genuinely think we need to get an identity as a club and get the manager to manage the players we recruit - obviously can have some say but shouldn’t be completely in charge of recruitment.

6.) 08 Mar 2025 01:29:51
Moyes like every other manager has his own style of play and philosophy on the game. There is no point bringing in players that he doesn't want.
The manager should give the DoF a list of players he would like and then the DoF should assess it and come to an agreement of which players they will target.

7.) 08 Mar 2025 08:44:31
Whether a manager or a DOF buys players, the next manager may not want them. At least if Moyes has a big say then we know he wants them. West Ham’s squad is littered with quality players bought in under Moyes’s tenure.

8.) 08 Mar 2025 09:09:15
Chong needs a big shout out and real appreciation for what he's done at the club. He's been an outstanding CEO in what can only be described as impossible circumstances. He's had to manage the club from the top, with a vacant owner and a stadium to get finished. What he has achieved is miraculous.

When you consider some of our previous CEO's, Colin really did steady the ship in its time of need.

Made up he's staying to continue overseeing the stadium with, aside from the finance deals made by Moshiri, has been super smooth during the building process and he's kept everyone informed right through and was the one that wanted regular video updates with the fans. I haven't felt, build wise, that this wouldn't get done.

9.) 08 Mar 2025 09:21:19
Whatever the case may be, DM should have at least have a veto on transfers and loans IMO.

10.) 08 Mar 2025 19:46:27
Could this be a possible set up for Moyes to move onto the leadership team in the future when we get a new coach?

07 Mar 2025 12:18:55
Just saw a piece on Angel Gomez from Lille, out of contract in the summer and is looking for Premier league. Some stats gizmo company claimed that we were the best fit for him. He was capped 4 times during Lee Carsley’s tenure . From what I remember he looked decent and not out of place for a young lad moved up from the 21’s . Obviously no direct link transfer wise but I would love to see him in an Everton shirt.

Big C

1.) 07 Mar 2025 12:57:22
Fabulous player and a real bright spark in those England games. Would love it but one for the wish list and it'd be a nice surprise but just feel he's out of reach.

2.) 07 Mar 2025 16:16:55
Great shout Big C. I mentioned him a couple of months back when someone posted about getting an AM in.

What surprises me most about him is his tenacity and willingness to get stuck in.

You could be right FBS but not sure the top clubs would be in for him and then I think we could battle it out with the other clubs when you take into account the new stadium, new owners and hopefully a decent finish in the table.

We are definitely a better prospect than we were a couple of months back. My hope has definitely gone up.

3.) 07 Mar 2025 16:35:38
Think we would be a good proposition for him.

4.) 07 Mar 2025 17:14:15
FFP has suddenly hit some of the "bigger" teams, so don't be surprised if he does get his head turned. Barcelona could sign him for nothing and sell him a week later the way they are being run for goodness sake. His spell in Ligue 1 after not getting a sniff at Uni-turd may have given him some grounding, all depends on the agent selling the situation though unfortunately.

21 Feb 2025 12:48:43
Just a ponderous musing on a Friday afternoon, what if we were to match United’s lineup and play

Pickford

O’Brien Tarkowski Branthwaite

Garner Dacoure Gana Iroegbunham

Lindstom Beto Alcaraz

Thoughts please.

Big C

1.) 21 Feb 2025 13:35:22
Why not just play what’s been working for us. We are at home let’s get at them.

2.) 21 Feb 2025 13:56:11
Would take that Team Big C mate we definitely have a good chance of beating them eh.

3.) 21 Feb 2025 15:39:53
We'd get wholloped with hat line up. United aren't great but they've got players that can hurt any team.

There's no protection down the left hand side and they'd have free rein. I'd stick with the current plan. It works and is adaptable during 90mins.

Keep Charly in though and not put Doucs back in.

4.) 21 Feb 2025 15:45:02
Or stick to what is currently working and players in more natural positions.

5.) 21 Feb 2025 17:19:03
Yeah I wasn’t sure myself, I get Doucoure coming back in with him and Beto bullying their centre backs and was thinking of how to accommodate that and competing in the and keeping Alcaraz in the team in the 10 role where he seemed to thrive . I’m all for keeping a winning team as I stated it was only a ponder
UTFT.

6.) 21 Feb 2025 18:19:16
Theur formation is causing them more proble. s than it's worth and they have been struggling against most teams under their new manager. I'd set us up in the same way DM has been so far and try and take the game to them. Keeps doucs on the bench and start Alcaraz, he deserves a chance at cementing a place in the team. If we press them regularly then we should be able to cause them a few problems of our own.
Was looking at the odds for the game and, for a change, we are favourites, albeit slight favourites. I think we will take 3 points tomorrow ?? UTFT.

I asked ed1 about this in another thread, Lindstrom overseas loan with option to buy, Alcaraz is a loan with an obligation to buy subject to conditions being met. As it’s an obligation to buy it’s not counted as a loan. Mangala may have returned which would free up a loan space as well.

Sorry Ed but I suppose my question was double even multi faceted, are both deals subject to conditions with obligations to buy or just this deal for Alcaraz?
And do/ does they/ it count as loans to our total of two overseas loans
Sorry for the confusion and thank you in advance for your knowledge and time.

Big C

{Ed001's Note - I believe Alcarez is obligation if certain conditions are met, but Lindstrom is option to buy.
The obligation to buy means it will not count towards the loan total.

It is very confusing and makes little sense. I do wish they would just scrap loans and that would stop bigger clubs being able to hoard youngsters.}
