To ordinary folk, 200 million pounds, sounds like an awful lot of money. However in the world of professional football, it really is little more than pocket change, thus I am more than a little surprised that such a sum, and one well known before negotiation, was enough to derail the takeover.

It does seem very strange that the takeover feel on this relatively, small sum, particularly as it was always there up front. so perhaps we should be looking for an alternative explanation?

It could be that he is playing hard ball and will re-enter if resolved, or he just thinks all the legal shinnanagins with 777 just isn't worth his time and money. I think he will come back to the table if there are concessions from Moshiri, which is anyone's guess as we all know he isn't the sharpest negotiator.

I am sorry but 200m is not a small amount in investment terms as if you had 200m spare you would probably invest it somewhere safer. It is also not the 200m that is the issue, it's the legal shenanigans that could leave us liable to having profited from illegal activity would is much larger problem.

I think the 777 money is the reason being put forward however as I understand it Freidkin offered Moshiri £1 for something Moshiri wanted £50m for and the unresolvable issue is that either would budge . They will settle on a figure in between or someone else will swoop in with more money than friedkin and give Moshiri nearer what he wants.

Agree Big C. If we all knew how dodgy 777 were then I can't believe a business the size of Friedkin's didn't. Think they just want to get the club as cheap as possible.
