Reading this morning that Andy Bell and George Downing have been offered a stake in Everton by Dan Freidkin seems a good idea.

Not sure why he would do that?

Same reason anyone would offer/ sell a stake.

But he doesn’t own the club yet. So doesn’t have a stake to offer.
From what I have read about the guy he likes ultimate control of things. So given that what would he actually be offering them. If and when he buys the club.

I think that bringing them in is brilliant strategy. they can run the club day to day while he oversees things. Everton run by Evertonians is brilliant PR.

I might be wrong but doesn’t the club still owe them 2 money? If so could be another reason to offer a stake in the club?

Wasn’t that the loan they paid back straight away?
Likewise I might be wrong but I know they immediately paid off one loan.

They have been paid off. As for Everton being run by Evertonians haven’t we been there before?

Can eds 02 confirm this?
{Ed002's Note - I can confirm that they are looking for additional investors and this would be to offset some or all of the debt owed to them if the sale goes through.}
