Multiple reports that Sam is to be sacked within 48 hours and replaced by Silva or Fonseca. Normally I take these things with a pinch of salt but multiple different sources reporting it. Got my fingers and toes crossed on this one.

The other week Steve Walsh and representatives went to Italy to sound out some players. Is that dead in the water now or is there still interest from us in the Italian league.

{Ed002's Note - Which players are you referring to? Duvan Zapata was certainly an option to Sandro. Bacca was considered but it won't be him now.}

1.) 09 Jul 2017 14:21:15
Not 100% on who we were after ed. I think we looked at Brozovic and Murillo too. Just asking if we still have a team over there having talks with certain individuals.

{Ed002's Note - There will be no team wandering around talking to people. I am not aware of Everton interest in either player although both are subject to interest from elsewhere.}

2.) 09 Jul 2017 14:29:35
OK cheers ed.

02 Jun 2016 23:21:50
Looks like we have signed sambou from Coventry. 18 year old striker.

1.) 03 Jun 2016 08:19:18
ha ha Dentie, he has the same smile as Lennon, welcome to the Blues Sammy.

2.) 03 Jun 2016 12:08:40
Lukaku's replacement? 😂.

18 May 2016 00:05:44
Supposedly lukaku's dad has said he will leave Everton before euros. shame but he was a reserve team striker before he came to us and West Bromwich. he ain't the only striker to put a ball in the net. i'm sure if he goes we will get an adequate replacement. wilson from Bournemouth looks good enough.

1.) 18 May 2016 00:29:17
you really think replacing Lukaku is that easy? he has scored 25 goals this season, i doubt Wilson would get anywhere near near that many.

2.) 18 May 2016 08:54:35
That's the worst part of letting him go, his play is often frustrating but he gets goals, hence the price tag getting banded around.

I don't think it will be good for the team if we keep him against his will, bad sulker. Have to see if we get a manager in who can persuade him to stay.

3.) 18 May 2016 09:05:18
Have other posters got any opinions on Rondom the forward at West Brom. Always keeps popping up with a goal.

4.) 18 May 2016 09:51:33
We don't need an odd goal striker like Rondon. Would take Bony and Berahino as replacements.

5.) 18 May 2016 09:57:21
I'm sorry but a truly world class striker would have scored way more than 25 goals based on the amount of chances Rom had and missed!

6.) 18 May 2016 12:23:47
Bluegray, you say you don't want an odd goal striker but youd be happy with Berahino?

7.) 18 May 2016 13:28:22
Was thinking of Rondom as a second striker, say to replace Kome not as main striker.

8.) 18 May 2016 18:05:33
Berahino as a second striker Lewis the lad is young and has goals in him.

27 Feb 2016 16:52:09
I've just read that ex arsenal board member has purchased 49.9% of everton

1.) 27 Feb 2016 16:54:56
Yep, confirmed on the club website. Investment and bill stays. Win win that for me.

2.) 27 Feb 2016 17:31:20
Great news, I reckon he's bought Bill and Robert Earls stakes in the club for a controlling interest. As their shares conveniently equal 49%. It's great that he's keeping Bill on if this is the case as he can pretty much do what he wants now, great gesture.

3.) 27 Feb 2016 18:20:25
A very interesting development and hopefully a win for the club. I don't believe we have seen the end of this story. I can't believe Earl would not want to cash in so we can assume that he has sold his shares which I have read are about 23%. I can't believe that Bill would have sold all his shares and left Woods with his 19%. It will be interesting to see who the major shareholders are now and how the new funds will be spent.

{Ed002's Note - What new funds?}

4.) 27 Feb 2016 19:09:46
Well you are correct Ed002, I was hoping that the new shareholder would bring in some new cash but that may be wishful thinking.

{Ed002's Note - See other answers.}

5.) 28 Feb 2016 03:11:23
As I suggested above it would appear that Earl has sold his shares and Bill and Woods have sold some of theirs so Moshiri holds 49.9% and Bill and Woods will remain on the Board with Moshiri. Sounds like a wise plan. if Moshiri tries to do something that is not in the interests of the club, Kenwright and Woods with the other shareholders could block that move.

Do/ did we have and interest in sangare from Toulouse. May be available for 10 mill according to reports. young player in the doucoure mould. Considering how soggy and Davies have been playing, I'd have him challenging for 1st team spot.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 19 Sep 2020 12:05:02
OK cheers Ed002.

03 Sep 2020 11:10:03
Not sure if any of the eds know tho s but dud Gbamin's agent say that he see's him more of a centre half than a midfielder? . I may be wrong but if and when fit, he could solve the centre half dilemma.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what his agent has said but he started out as a CB/RB.}

1.) 03 Sep 2020 11:46:19
It could be that he ends up playing RB, CB and CM, Although I'm not convinced we actually have a CB problem. A better midfield protects the defence and we have Holgate, Keane, Mina Braithwaite and Gibson. its far from our most problematic area.

2.) 03 Sep 2020 13:29:41
I don't think so too bunkbeds but about 90% of fans think we have a CB problem. It's just good to know that Gbamin could do the job if needs be.

3.) 03 Sep 2020 14:31:04
ED02 I might be wrong it might not of been you but I seem to remember someone saying he could be a world class centerback.

{Ed002's Note - No that would not have been me. It may have been his mother.}

4.) 03 Sep 2020 17:57:33
I don't think we have a CB problem. Our midfield was so poor that it put our def under so much pressure, plus we had injuries, plus we changed RB every other game - the CBs didn't stand a chance. I actually think we're potentially very deep with quality in this position. Keane improved with Holgate and then Branthwaite. I'd currently put Mina as the worst one we have and a priority to get out the door along with Sig. Holgate could maybe even turn into a decent DM option.

03 Sep 2020 11:05:02
Obsolutely chuffed to bits if these deals are done. Carlo got it hit on the head. Allan, who will rough it up in front of defence, Doucoure who has the pace and energy to go box to box, reminds me of Viera in a way and plonk Gomes with them who can spray ball around and not get caught out due to lack of pace. Play 433 with richy LF, DLC up top and Rodriguez RF. I'm looking forward to this season more than a few days ago.

1.) 03 Sep 2020 12:28:31
Hopefully it is true. Bit worried how this squares with our FFP situation though.

08 Jul 2020 11:16:33
My view is play Holgate in midfield. Was brilliant against man utd. Let gomes concentrate on getting ball forward. Or give Adenrian a go. He can power forward with ball given the chance. Mina next to Keane or even throw Branthwaite in. If he can be on bench he can play in 1st team. Beni at DM is also to be considered.

1.) 08 Jul 2020 12:38:27
Ultimately we need to sign the players needed to suit Ancelloti’s formation. There were more than a few players out there on Monday that weren’t good enough. I’m pretty sure Ancelotti saw that better and sooner than we did. I wouldn’t expect too much for now. Some players must move on and others must be signed. The constant needs to be the coaching staff, it’s the one world class thing we have.

2.) 08 Jul 2020 15:49:47
Baningime isn't good enough, the rare occasion he has been brought on, he did very little.

3.) 08 Jul 2020 20:48:44
How can you judge a player on a rare occasion?

I’d rather they be given a decent chance and then judge

Surely can’t be worse than anyone currently in our midfield?

4.) 08 Jul 2020 21:43:57
Because if he was any good, he surely would be getting a game, only on the bench now due to a shortage of players, he doesn't get a start as sub, maybe he needs to go out on loan for some experience.

5.) 09 Jul 2020 08:38:47
Toffee Ace, good post mate and my sentiments exactly.

11 Feb 2020 10:26:31
Just a thought. Is Niasse turning down clubs so he can sit on his 65k a week wages until contract runs down, knowing that as a free agent he will probably take a higher signing on fee. Had chance to go to Leeds for rest of season and tutned it down. Think the lads just pure greed to be fair.

{Ed002's Note - No, and there is still a chance he will leave this month.}

1.) 11 Feb 2020 11:34:38
Just thought when he supposedly said he wants to remain in prem, that dropping down to championship, for half a season, he would get games and if he us as confident in his abilities as he makes out, that he can score the goals to bring Leeds up. If he leaves soon I wish him well but just looks to us supporters like he is running contract down.

{Ed002's Note - If he sees his contract out he is available to the club. If he dropped down a level interest in him would wane. Lokomotiv Moscow will take him but want a wage reduction or Everton to release him from his contract - they may come up with another plan. Else he can talk to clubs in Turkey now and try and sort out a summer move - which I understand remains his preferred option.}

2.) 11 Feb 2020 11:51:28
Thank you for reply Ed002. Just wondering if he was really interested in leaving before windows shut. Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - If the right offer was on the table then yes.}

3.) 11 Feb 2020 15:04:57
To be fair it was the club that offered him that contract. So how many on here would take a pay cut to move to another job? No, then why should he.

4.) 11 Feb 2020 15:38:03
I think probably some people would if they had had a contract that made them set for life and had any self-motivation or desire to succeed. And from what Ed says that is the case with Niasse and he would go if gets the right offer of where he wants to go.

5.) 11 Feb 2020 16:04:45
This is what’s known as poor recruitment.

6.) 12 Feb 2020 04:55:58
It's not his fault he was never good enough

The fault is with whoever made the decision to sign him and give him the wages and the length of contract he has

Certainly one of the worst signings we have ever made imo, despite his smile and good work rate.

A bad, bad decision.

{Ed025's Note - im with you bw..

7.) 12 Feb 2020 08:53:37
Whatever said about Niasse the lads dignity in face of his (hopefully) , past treatment by the Club should not be questioned. His well goals at needed times should also be appreciated. Perhaps we should respect that and appreciate his contribution instead of castigating him. When he does leave, I for one will wish him well.

8.) 12 Feb 2020 09:32:04
Well he's never going to have a better wage packet. If I was him I'd sit it out too. Madness to think a guy who's been berated for 4 years is going to walk away to save a club ran by a billionaire a few quid. Would you? Thought not. Maybe he'll get a decent signing on fee for his next club as well. About the only sensible thing the guys done with his time here. Set for life.

9.) 12 Feb 2020 10:09:48
He could of gone to Leeds with the prospect of a bonus if they get promoted and certainly if he banged the goals in would then have been able to broker a good signing on fee and a decent wage.

He might be getting a decent wage now, however when that ends in less than 5 Months, then the next club can offer a lot less wages.

He said he wants to go to Turkey, but for a player who will not be attached to a club he could end up a lot worse off in the long run.

{Ed002's Note - Wages in Turkey are very good - but it is not about money.}

10.) 12 Feb 2020 10:35:47
I think Everton are part to blame with playing him during January and giving the player the incentive to stay.

Possibly to try and put him in the shop window, but it has backfired on the club.

It would have made more sense to give Anthony Gordon those minutes instead of Niasse.

Maybe Niasse has one last chapter to add to his Everton career, before he sails off into the sunset, in the Summer, if not before.

{Ed002's Note - I know Carlo Ancelotti well enough to say that he would never pick a player to put him in the "shop window". The situation is simple and as I have explained. The player would like to return to Turkey to play and he can talk directly with Turkish clubs about a move in the summer. Lokomotiv have spoken with the player and with Everton to no avail - they will very likely make a further offer in the coming week or so.}

11.) 12 Feb 2020 11:01:58
It doesn't really mater what Niasse does or doesn't do the fact is he is under contract and honouring that contract. He has been nothing but professional in the way he conducts himself and has always shown a great attitude and desire to perform to the best of his ability when given the chance. In my opinion he should not be getting any stick what so ever regardless of what opportunities he has been given to leave. It was obvious they not right for him so that's the end of the matter. If you want to whinge then look to the people that signed him on the terms he is on not the player himself.

12.) 12 Feb 2020 19:20:58
Absolutely right sa90 he signed for however many years and has every right to sit till summer when it runs out, if that's what happens.

{Ed002's Note - Niasse is not sitting his time out at all. He is available to be used.}

13.) 13 Feb 2020 19:11:22
Meant sit out his contract not sit on his backside, apologies for the confusion.

DLC won't go there. He is 1st team and enjoying his football. I really don't think man utd will sign him. They not guaranteed top 4 anymore and look like becoming like and arsenal or spurs. Very good teams, don't get me wrong, but they are scrapping to keep their lofty heights in the prem. Just my opinion tho. Most will disagree.

If not permanent then why hamper our kid defenders who can play 1st team (Branthwaite, Gibson) to help Chelsea bring on players. Branthwaite done nothing wrong to suggest he should be out the 1st team picture.

I hope so. We thought he was going to be our next Gareth Barry but not a patch on him. Get his wages of our outlay. Injured too much.
