Richarlison basically confirming Rafa had agendas from day one. James came back to the club and worked very hard in training, to get fit and to make an impression. Really dedicated.

Benitez then randomly said "I can't count on you anymore"

So we lost James because Rafa valued his own agenda over the good of the club.

Thanks mate. Lost our 2 best players because of a man child.

Swan117

1.) 19 Feb 2022 15:59:42
Yea richarlison also mentioned losing Bernard who he said was an important player to us. On the upside, James and Bernard was 350k a week for us which you could argue is relatively significant when you are in an extremely dire ffp situation.

2.) 19 Feb 2022 19:03:27
But not if you get relegated and lose millions.

3.) 19 Feb 2022 23:03:24
C’mon lads, Bernard wasn’t pulling up trees. Richy might have liked Carlo, but who doesn’t? Click bait.

4.) 19 Feb 2022 23:31:51
Bernard and James where the best thing we had since arteta, and worst thing we done was lose them for nothing, 350 k PW, so be it, atleast we wld still be in the top flight.

5.) 20 Feb 2022 01:08:16
Bernard wasn't good enough for the prem.

6.) 20 Feb 2022 07:16:21
The club had to streamline the wages, both James and Bernard were on silly amounts for the amount of games they participated in. It was the right move by the club as we needed to save some cash. Bernard one of the two best players at the club? Bit of a stretch that mate. I liked him as a player but he was too light weight for the prem and didn't exactly weigh in with tons of goals and assists did he? Take Rafa out of the equation for a moment, it was still the right decision on both counts.

7.) 20 Feb 2022 07:27:00
Having James was like owning a race car that always ended up at the garage. No point having him if he wasn’t able to play half the time.

Our issue has been an inability to strengthen areas we need strengthening. We keep buying wingers when defence has been an issue for 2 seasons - mainly CB and RB.

I have no issue with James going or with Digne if they weren’t showing it in the pitch. As for Bernard, he never set the world on fire. He was a European football squad player but we never managed a run in Europe.

I doubt Rafa was out to destroy us. He played antiquated tactics and his ego got the better of him. He also had a load of injuries to deal with.

Let’s turn our attention to the current team and Lampard’s task of saving us from the drop. No point wasting any more energy on Rafa. We can avoid relegation - it’s in our hands. Get behind the team and get some points off City next up.

8.) 20 Feb 2022 09:10:51
Spot on there Bluepotato. We got rid of two highest earners and replaced them for buttons - and we're on track to score at least as many goals as last season even though centre forward been injured all season. The issue is we can't defend and make huge number of individual errors.
The way I see it, now that Rafa is gone they can't blame him and have to accept the playing squad isn't up to scratch - so in order to still hound Rafa need to move onto his transfer business.
As I've said before, we got 19 pts from 19 games with Rafa - if we match that we'll stay up. We've now got the centre forward fit and have signed two new midfielders so if Rafa was so bad we should now absolutely cruise to safety, surely?

9.) 20 Feb 2022 09:13:28
One last thing on this. when it comes to losing them for nothing, I don't think we were knocking back offers for them. Look where they are both playing football now and ask yourself why? Why did nobody in the top 10 (or 20!) leagues in the world show any interest in them, even for free?

10.) 20 Feb 2022 23:12:51
Rafa should be consigned to the history books now, people should just let it go, TD. I would have agreed with the OP if it was Digne being mentioned but not those two.

30 Jan 2022 21:04:23
I'd love to have Gueye back, one of the best midfielders I've seen play for us. One of the best in Europe while he was here.

Yet our fans seem more interested in Barkley, very weird.

Swan117

1.) 30 Jan 2022 21:36:40
Tbf Mate I don’t think many fans would pick Barkley over Gueye. Gueye strikes me as one of those players who won’t start declining until 35+. Get it done Everton!

2.) 30 Jan 2022 22:01:08
Gana was so good for us he made Gomes look like Pirlo, would love him back. As for Barkley, wasn't it Lamps who sent him on loan to Villa? Doesn't look like he thinks much of him, lazy rumour.

3.) 30 Jan 2022 22:14:01
Would love Gana back. aren't many in the World that do it better than him.

4.) 30 Jan 2022 22:19:41
Actually think he would come back to efc a better player if he were to return.

5.) 30 Jan 2022 23:34:09
Would have him back till end of season, but need to find a younger version if we are looking to develop for the future.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 00:24:31
I thought that we can only have two loan players at any one time, which I thought meant in any one window. We already have the Villa guy and the United player is on the fringe of coming so how do we get Gana back until the end of the season? Are overseas loans not included in the two player restriction? I know that we can have four loans in any one season.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 02:26:58
blue Mike, it's two domestic loan deals and one from abroad from what I have read.
I'm surprised that some are so open to having him back when some have said in the past that anyone over 30 is too old. I'd take him back for the season but we need to be aiming for younger players that will be here for a good few years.

8.) 31 Jan 2022 08:02:03
Age is not the concern for the next few months. Staying in the league is. If a 32 year old can protect our back four, and we know he can, then I’m fine with him for the foreseeable.

9.) 31 Jan 2022 08:47:55
We won't be buying Barkley and we can't loan him so its a non story. As for Gueye he would be a great addition. can't see it happening though as he is playing a big part in the PSG squad so why would he leave.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 10:28:54
Rumours that Chelsea might waive a transfer fee to get Barkley off the books ??‍♂️
Also seen we are looking at Weston McKennie as a loan to buy, not sure how much truth in that but is back to the lower risk option.

{Ed002's Note - Weston McKennie may not easily be available to agree any move today. Juve want him gone as they refresh their midfield but it is right now looking more like the summer.}}

11.) 31 Jan 2022 11:29:50
Thanks for the update Ed
Are the rumours of our interest true?

{Ed002's Note - Weston McKennie (CM) Fiorentina would like to take the player and Juventus are looking to add a leading CM and need to raise funds and offload, ideally Ramsey and Arthur - but an option would be to sell Weston McKennie to Spurs or Bayern Munich who have both have shown an interest - although it seems to be waning in respect of both sides. A representative of Juventus was in London for talks with Chelsea about another player and was asked to meet with West Ham who have declared an interest. I am not so sure the player would be interested and I would discount them. Juventus will keep him if they cannot raise €30M from a sale they will keep him until the summer. I am not aware of any approach from Everton.}

12.) 31 Jan 2022 20:57:49
Do we not need a centre back or can 24 midfielders help the situation? Asking for a mate.

20 Jan 2022 17:54:51
Apparently we have interviewed Fabio Cannavaro.

Moshiri Out.

Swan117

1.) 20 Jan 2022 18:04:57
Guess who is agent is?

{Ed025's Note - kia?..

2.) 20 Jan 2022 18:34:02
Apparently so!

3.) 20 Jan 2022 18:58:51
Cannavaro. What a defender he was.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 19:03:26
Why doesn’t Kia send any of his good clients our way? How come it’s only ever the ones no one wants ? and more to the point why are we dumb enough to take them?

5.) 20 Jan 2022 19:38:08
Must be taking a bung from Kia’s bonus.

6.) 20 Jan 2022 19:47:48
Maybe he was asking him to replace Keane at centre back for the rest of the season.

05 Jun 2021 17:24:18
Any truth in these rumours that Rafa is set to join Fenerbache?

Swan117

{Ed0666's Note - I’ve just spent the last 3 days eulogizing about him and advocating his move to Everton and now you tell me this???!! What a waste of my time.

1.) 05 Jun 2021 18:02:56
I though Martinez was going to Fenerbache.

2.) 05 Jun 2021 23:05:31
Maybe they're both going for a holiday. Are they on the green list?

3.) 06 Jun 2021 07:52:17
They will be fine bud if they say there second nationality is German then they don't have to self isolate and if they say they are related to Gove they won't have to self isolate if they take a test daily ha ha.

18 May 2021 00:03:42
Against Wolves, it won't happen, but I want to see some of the kids play. Fans will be back and I expect them to give dogs abuse to those players. I don't want to see anyone complain ever again about the fans being the reason we struggled to win games when we've had no fans all season and have the worst home record ever.

If Carlo wants the fans to actually appreciate the team and hopefully allow us to play without constant anger from the fans. Then the likes of Onyango (if he's fit, don't think he is) , Nkounkou, Warrington, Broadhead etc or whoever, should play. Not saying give the game to the Under 23's. Keep Pickford, Godfrey, Doucoure, James and DCL in the team and put some youngsters around them. The season is finished now so why not, get the fans onboard for the last 2 games and go again next season.

Swan117

1.) 18 May 2021 09:40:58
Nkounkou should be in in front of Seamus, the kids got energy to burn and we have seen how he likes to attack. He is our future Seamus god love him is our past.
Oh and before people say any of the players Swans named are too young. Remember we lost to a single goal scored by a seventeen year old.

2.) 18 May 2021 11:20:53
Not sure about putting a left back in front of a right back but if there is an right sided option from the youth setup then I don't see why not give them a go. Nkounkou if he does play would be better either at LM or LB with Digne playing the other position. Personally I would go Digne LB with Nkounko LM if you wanted to play both players.

3.) 18 May 2021 11:21:01
I think warrington is a good shout. Give someone with fire in belly and chance to impress a go. There's a 17yr old striker coming through too. Think he's called Charlie whittiker. Let em loose on wolves.

4.) 18 May 2021 17:14:20
Just move Richy over to the right.

5.) 18 May 2021 21:20:19
. right hand side of the bench next to big dunc to lecture him on where he needs to improve and why he's benched.

Seen a lot of people on social media say "well he can't score for us" or "it's not his fault we missed chances".

No, it is his fault we set up so defensively at home. 2 holding midfielders, Garner out wide, Danjuma coming on in the 83rd minute, why? .

He has zero attacking instincts or knowledge as a manager.

Yes we missed chances, but this defeat is mostly on the manager. He pretty much set us up for a point at home to Luton and we couldn't even get that.

Swan117

1.) 01 Oct 2023 06:35:11
Bang on.

23 Aug 2023 19:32:40
Chased Gnonto for about 75 years only to not sign him. Haggling over £5M for Che Adams AND MSP have now walked away from investing in the club.

This is in the space of 24 hours. Yet there are STILL people who will insist Moshiri and Kenwright are fine because "oh well one owns the club so who cares what he does with it and the other is a true blue".

08 May 2023 21:20:32
Whilst we will lose 8-0 to City on Sunday, we HAVE to keep Yerry Mina in the team. He's amazing, if he didn't have injury problems, he'd easily play for a top 10 team regularly.

Swan117

1.) 08 May 2023 22:04:49
Agree BUT he’s always injured and liable to a red! He won’t stay after this season. I’d play him (if he can) with Tarks till end of season BUT not idiolise a player who imo plays for himself and money.

08 May 2023 20:01:20
Well that was a bit shocking

Last time I predict us to lose a game heavily.

Swan117

{Ed025's Note - you keep predicting that swan..your our lucky mascot..

1.) 08 May 2023 20:10:20
Swan you are soooooo lucky mate.

2.) 08 May 2023 20:24:49
Love u Swan ❤️.

02 May 2023 01:22:30
It's all well and good saying "Keane isn't injury prone like Mina" yet Mina is fit at the moment and ready to play.

Swan117

1.) 02 May 2023 05:23:45
But for how long? Will he do a seamus and risk injury for the cause
?

Coady needs to come in.

Everyone moaning about Keane but if dcl scores that absolute sitter we win the game imo and. no one even mentioning it.

2.) 02 May 2023 07:27:34
Dom scoring would guarantee nothing that happens after that. Keane was awful throughout.

3.) 02 May 2023 08:12:19
You play your best available team that's never Keane he should never ever be considered ahead of a fit coady or mina.

4.) 02 May 2023 12:18:16
why coady ahead of mina?

we have 5 subs so if mina does get i jured you can put coady on its not like we make any subs anyway.

5.) 02 May 2023 16:31:34
Spot on Joe.

Ed002 any information on Lewis Gibson? He was highly rated for a while but just curious if Everton see a future for him or will look to move him on in the summer.

Thanks for any response.

Swan117

{Ed002's Note - I would expect him to be assessed in the summer.}

I’d like to see him play well more often instead of once every 5 games, maybe I’d be sad if he went then.

What is it with Belgium players always talking about how they can’t wait to leave their club? Lukaku, Onana, Mirallas, Courtois, Alderweireld, Benteke and Dembele all guilty of it.

Gueye, Doucoure and Garner for me if he’s fit enough.

If not, put Davies as the 6 and give Gueye more freedom.

Because as I’ve said before, Evertonians have a really weird (bordering on creepy) obsession with trying to bring back former players and managers.

It’s because a large portion of our fanbase have a REALLY weird obsession with ex players and managers. Never see it with any other club, but we are always desperate to bring back old managers. Moyes, Martinez, Silva, Ancelotti all in the space of 18 months. Barkley, Deulofeu, Rodwell, Lundstram, Vlasic, Niasse, James etc in the last 2 years. It’s very strange.

Everyone still pretending Martinez was sacked after the 2013-14 season it seems.

Failed with the best Belgium team of all time.
