Richarlison basically confirming Rafa had agendas from day one. James came back to the club and worked very hard in training, to get fit and to make an impression. Really dedicated.

Benitez then randomly said "I can't count on you anymore"

So we lost James because Rafa valued his own agenda over the good of the club.

Thanks mate. Lost our 2 best players because of a man child.

Swan117

1.) 19 Feb 2022 15:59:42
Yea richarlison also mentioned losing Bernard who he said was an important player to us. On the upside, James and Bernard was 350k a week for us which you could argue is relatively significant when you are in an extremely dire ffp situation.

2.) 19 Feb 2022 19:03:27
But not if you get relegated and lose millions.

3.) 19 Feb 2022 23:03:24
C’mon lads, Bernard wasn’t pulling up trees. Richy might have liked Carlo, but who doesn’t? Click bait.

4.) 19 Feb 2022 23:31:51
Bernard and James where the best thing we had since arteta, and worst thing we done was lose them for nothing, 350 k PW, so be it, atleast we wld still be in the top flight.

5.) 20 Feb 2022 01:08:16
Bernard wasn't good enough for the prem.

6.) 20 Feb 2022 07:16:21
The club had to streamline the wages, both James and Bernard were on silly amounts for the amount of games they participated in. It was the right move by the club as we needed to save some cash. Bernard one of the two best players at the club? Bit of a stretch that mate. I liked him as a player but he was too light weight for the prem and didn't exactly weigh in with tons of goals and assists did he? Take Rafa out of the equation for a moment, it was still the right decision on both counts.

7.) 20 Feb 2022 07:27:00
Having James was like owning a race car that always ended up at the garage. No point having him if he wasn’t able to play half the time.

Our issue has been an inability to strengthen areas we need strengthening. We keep buying wingers when defence has been an issue for 2 seasons - mainly CB and RB.

I have no issue with James going or with Digne if they weren’t showing it in the pitch. As for Bernard, he never set the world on fire. He was a European football squad player but we never managed a run in Europe.

I doubt Rafa was out to destroy us. He played antiquated tactics and his ego got the better of him. He also had a load of injuries to deal with.

Let’s turn our attention to the current team and Lampard’s task of saving us from the drop. No point wasting any more energy on Rafa. We can avoid relegation - it’s in our hands. Get behind the team and get some points off City next up.

8.) 20 Feb 2022 09:10:51
Spot on there Bluepotato. We got rid of two highest earners and replaced them for buttons - and we're on track to score at least as many goals as last season even though centre forward been injured all season. The issue is we can't defend and make huge number of individual errors.
The way I see it, now that Rafa is gone they can't blame him and have to accept the playing squad isn't up to scratch - so in order to still hound Rafa need to move onto his transfer business.
As I've said before, we got 19 pts from 19 games with Rafa - if we match that we'll stay up. We've now got the centre forward fit and have signed two new midfielders so if Rafa was so bad we should now absolutely cruise to safety, surely?

9.) 20 Feb 2022 09:13:28
One last thing on this. when it comes to losing them for nothing, I don't think we were knocking back offers for them. Look where they are both playing football now and ask yourself why? Why did nobody in the top 10 (or 20!) leagues in the world show any interest in them, even for free?

10.) 20 Feb 2022 23:12:51
Rafa should be consigned to the history books now, people should just let it go, TD. I would have agreed with the OP if it was Digne being mentioned but not those two.

30 Jan 2022 21:04:23
I'd love to have Gueye back, one of the best midfielders I've seen play for us. One of the best in Europe while he was here.

Yet our fans seem more interested in Barkley, very weird.

Swan117

1.) 30 Jan 2022 21:36:40
Tbf Mate I don’t think many fans would pick Barkley over Gueye. Gueye strikes me as one of those players who won’t start declining until 35+. Get it done Everton!

2.) 30 Jan 2022 22:01:08
Gana was so good for us he made Gomes look like Pirlo, would love him back. As for Barkley, wasn't it Lamps who sent him on loan to Villa? Doesn't look like he thinks much of him, lazy rumour.

3.) 30 Jan 2022 22:14:01
Would love Gana back. aren't many in the World that do it better than him.

4.) 30 Jan 2022 22:19:41
Actually think he would come back to efc a better player if he were to return.

5.) 30 Jan 2022 23:34:09
Would have him back till end of season, but need to find a younger version if we are looking to develop for the future.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 00:24:31
I thought that we can only have two loan players at any one time, which I thought meant in any one window. We already have the Villa guy and the United player is on the fringe of coming so how do we get Gana back until the end of the season? Are overseas loans not included in the two player restriction? I know that we can have four loans in any one season.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 02:26:58
blue Mike, it's two domestic loan deals and one from abroad from what I have read.
I'm surprised that some are so open to having him back when some have said in the past that anyone over 30 is too old. I'd take him back for the season but we need to be aiming for younger players that will be here for a good few years.

8.) 31 Jan 2022 08:02:03
Age is not the concern for the next few months. Staying in the league is. If a 32 year old can protect our back four, and we know he can, then I’m fine with him for the foreseeable.

9.) 31 Jan 2022 08:47:55
We won't be buying Barkley and we can't loan him so its a non story. As for Gueye he would be a great addition. can't see it happening though as he is playing a big part in the PSG squad so why would he leave.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 10:28:54
Rumours that Chelsea might waive a transfer fee to get Barkley off the books ??‍♂️
Also seen we are looking at Weston McKennie as a loan to buy, not sure how much truth in that but is back to the lower risk option.

{Ed002's Note - Weston McKennie may not easily be available to agree any move today. Juve want him gone as they refresh their midfield but it is right now looking more like the summer.}}

11.) 31 Jan 2022 11:29:50
Thanks for the update Ed
Are the rumours of our interest true?

{Ed002's Note - Weston McKennie (CM) Fiorentina would like to take the player and Juventus are looking to add a leading CM and need to raise funds and offload, ideally Ramsey and Arthur - but an option would be to sell Weston McKennie to Spurs or Bayern Munich who have both have shown an interest - although it seems to be waning in respect of both sides. A representative of Juventus was in London for talks with Chelsea about another player and was asked to meet with West Ham who have declared an interest. I am not so sure the player would be interested and I would discount them. Juventus will keep him if they cannot raise €30M from a sale they will keep him until the summer. I am not aware of any approach from Everton.}

12.) 31 Jan 2022 20:57:49
Do we not need a centre back or can 24 midfielders help the situation? Asking for a mate.

20 Jan 2022 17:54:51
Apparently we have interviewed Fabio Cannavaro.

Moshiri Out.

Swan117

1.) 20 Jan 2022 18:04:57
Guess who is agent is?

{Ed025's Note - kia?..

2.) 20 Jan 2022 18:34:02
Apparently so!

3.) 20 Jan 2022 18:58:51
Cannavaro. What a defender he was.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 19:03:26
Why doesn’t Kia send any of his good clients our way? How come it’s only ever the ones no one wants ? and more to the point why are we dumb enough to take them?

5.) 20 Jan 2022 19:38:08
Must be taking a bung from Kia’s bonus.

6.) 20 Jan 2022 19:47:48
Maybe he was asking him to replace Keane at centre back for the rest of the season.

05 Jun 2021 17:24:18
Any truth in these rumours that Rafa is set to join Fenerbache?

Swan117

{Ed0666's Note - I’ve just spent the last 3 days eulogizing about him and advocating his move to Everton and now you tell me this???!! What a waste of my time.

1.) 05 Jun 2021 18:02:56
I though Martinez was going to Fenerbache.

2.) 05 Jun 2021 23:05:31
Maybe they're both going for a holiday. Are they on the green list?

3.) 06 Jun 2021 07:52:17
They will be fine bud if they say there second nationality is German then they don't have to self isolate and if they say they are related to Gove they won't have to self isolate if they take a test daily ha ha.

18 May 2021 00:03:42
Against Wolves, it won't happen, but I want to see some of the kids play. Fans will be back and I expect them to give dogs abuse to those players. I don't want to see anyone complain ever again about the fans being the reason we struggled to win games when we've had no fans all season and have the worst home record ever.

If Carlo wants the fans to actually appreciate the team and hopefully allow us to play without constant anger from the fans. Then the likes of Onyango (if he's fit, don't think he is) , Nkounkou, Warrington, Broadhead etc or whoever, should play. Not saying give the game to the Under 23's. Keep Pickford, Godfrey, Doucoure, James and DCL in the team and put some youngsters around them. The season is finished now so why not, get the fans onboard for the last 2 games and go again next season.

Swan117

1.) 18 May 2021 09:40:58
Nkounkou should be in in front of Seamus, the kids got energy to burn and we have seen how he likes to attack. He is our future Seamus god love him is our past.
Oh and before people say any of the players Swans named are too young. Remember we lost to a single goal scored by a seventeen year old.

2.) 18 May 2021 11:20:53
Not sure about putting a left back in front of a right back but if there is an right sided option from the youth setup then I don't see why not give them a go. Nkounkou if he does play would be better either at LM or LB with Digne playing the other position. Personally I would go Digne LB with Nkounko LM if you wanted to play both players.

3.) 18 May 2021 11:21:01
I think warrington is a good shout. Give someone with fire in belly and chance to impress a go. There's a 17yr old striker coming through too. Think he's called Charlie whittiker. Let em loose on wolves.

4.) 18 May 2021 17:14:20
Just move Richy over to the right.

5.) 18 May 2021 21:20:19
. right hand side of the bench next to big dunc to lecture him on where he needs to improve and why he's benched.

Will certain fans ever question Moshiri and Kenwright?

Swan117

{Ed0666's Note - I think everyone’s questioning why they hired Lampard mate?

1.) 08 Apr 2022 12:44:36
Grandson just said out of them all since Brownshoes the best one was Alardyce. Does anyone differ? All of you criticised and called him. Played boring football but didn't accept less than 100 percent. Lampard grow a pair and look further than the trees.

06 Apr 2022 22:14:02
"You've had good times"-Bill Kenwright, chairman and leech of Everton football club.

Swan117

1.) 06 Apr 2022 23:22:38
reckon you believe the world is flat also.

2.) 07 Apr 2022 00:03:17
If Bill told us the earth was flat, plenty of our fans would believe him.

3.) 07 Apr 2022 05:39:14
Get off Bill Kenwright’s back please!

4.) 07 Apr 2022 07:22:58
Kenwright is the go to scapegoat, God knows why! it isn't his fault we're where we are!

21 Mar 2022 20:55:39
We have 5 central midfielders

1 is never fit, which is Delph, who cares, he's garbage anyway.

1 runs all day but is awful on the ball, Doucoure.

1 is neat and tidy on the ball and that's it, VDB.

1 can't run, pass, defend, shoot or do anything resembling a footballer, which is Gomes.

And 1 who is competent and we desperately need, he just doesn't have the legs to go with his obvious talent for winning the ball back and running games on his own at times. That's Allan.

That's concerning, without Allan, we are screwed pretty much. No one else takes responsibility and no one else is intelligent enough.

What I would give for a Gareth Barry or Gana Gueye right now. Shows how great they really were when you compare them with this lot.

Swan117

{Ed0666's Note - I still remember the day when Everton signed Gomes I was checking into a hotel in Prague and the guy at reception who was a massive Barca fan was doing a jig of delight. I asked why he was so happy? He said ‘my soccer team has just sold the most useless footballer to have ever played for Barcelona for a lot of money. He can’t pass in a straight line and we actually got money for him’ I started laughing told him I was a Red, shared in his delight and he upgraded me to the the penthouse suite.
That story never gets old!!!

1.) 22 Mar 2022 04:38:25
He was excellent on loan. Got a permanent move and turned into a waste of space.

He’s massive, decently quick for his size, can pass and shoot really well when he wants to.

But doesn’t bother.

2.) 22 Mar 2022 08:28:13
That Barcelona fan doing a jig handing out penthouse suites etc. . are we talking about the same player here?
Gomes was arguably one of the best players in the PL until he was a victim of Son's petulance, after that well? all I can say Ed, the concierge was drunk and you had a lucky break mate.

3.) 22 Mar 2022 09:21:23
There were flashes of a good player when he was on loan with us but was never consistent. We definitely paid over the odds for him.

Also he has suffered a nasty injury and players rarely are the same after those type of injuries. I’d imagine it’s at the back of his mind when playing and probably doesn’t want to suffer another one so doesn’t go in fully committed to tackles etc.

Wouldn’t be bothered if he left, however couldn’t see anyone interested in him.

This is the sad situation we now find ourselves in having spent millions on players there are probably only 1 or 2 players that we may be able to move on for a fee!

4.) 22 Mar 2022 11:43:32
"Gomes was arguably one of the best players in the PL until he was a victim of Son's petulance". ? He's was terrible before Son did his leg in. He did okay on loan, looked like he had something to offer that we didn't have but I think that's more because we were terrible. Gomes has been on a downward spiral since he joined United. Son didn't make him crap, he's just crap.

5.) 22 Mar 2022 11:58:43
Yes that's right he was chummy, short memory perhaps it was only after Son that he lost the plot before that he looked like a real player .

6.) 22 Mar 2022 12:12:53
OH btw ''Gomes has been on a downward spiral since he joined United. Son didn't make him crap, he's just crap. ''???❓❔.

7.) 22 Mar 2022 21:07:37
He was quality before that tackle so not sure why some are trying to rewrite history? Hasn't been the same player since, such a shame really.

8.) 23 Mar 2022 10:19:46
I never rated him even when he was on loan and stated on this forum not sign him permanently as we could get much better for that money but I got slated for my remarks.

20 Mar 2022 14:36:30
Just wish Lampard would stop changing the formation every game.

3/ 5 at the back has never and will never work for Everton.

Swan117

1.) 20 Mar 2022 14:50:50
Neither does lumping the ball to Richarlison.

{Ed014's Note - it was never a job for Lampard, way out of his depth after an uninspiring start to his short managerial career.

2.)

3.) 20 Mar 2022 15:13:15
Choice between Lampard and Rooney.

4.) 20 Mar 2022 16:20:36
Should have waited for the summer and had Dunc wrap this sorry season up was my 1st choice
2nd choice Rooney
3rd choice anyone but Lampard.
I predicted he'd be sacked before game 10 of next season and I'm sticking with it. Just need the lovin crew to wake up.

5.) 20 Mar 2022 16:22:33
I might have missed it, but why did Rooney rule himself out of the Everton job?

6.) 20 Mar 2022 16:47:47
Agree Swan - should stick to one formation so all the players can get used to it. Our squad is nowhere near decent enough to be able to keep switching between formations.

Would also like him to play players in their correct positions and see if that actually works.

7.) 20 Mar 2022 17:13:38
NickB he apparently refused an interview with us and utd but admitted he'd love to manage both clubs in the future. I believe Everton claimed Rooney was never offered an interview. BS
He claimed he "had a job to do and integrity was important to him and he felt he owed Derby and his players to finish the season" ironic considering some of the jip he was getting on here for apparently having no integrity etc etc.

{Ed0666's Note - Rooney advocating integrity. Am I the only one that sees the delicious irony here?

8.) 20 Mar 2022 20:01:24
No Ed you're not ha ha ha.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m glad to hear it mate I thought I was going nuts

18 Mar 2022 04:44:37
If, and it's a big if, IF we stay in the Premier League, Alex Iwobi will be forgiven for all his bad performances just for that one goal.

Sorry I said McGeady was better than you Alex.

Swan117

1.) 18 Mar 2022 08:00:17
Big if? Until it is mathematically impossible to stay up then there is more than a fighting chance of survival. With a few games in hand we are in a decent position, better than not having games on those around the dreaded relegation zone. Plenty of points to play for, Swan, have a bit of faith mate!

2.) 18 Mar 2022 08:30:05
Well the effort and grit is there and it was plentiful last night the fans were part of it all too, so many plusses in that respect, NUFC are a decent outfit and the 10 men factored into the equation you have to say that was a pretty damn good performance by us.
The talent is there also and with a tad more belief along with real genuine effort, it would put us in a lot higher than this team is atm .
Everyone connected with the club must see that languishing in the drop zone or close to it is not the true destination of this squad imho ''belief'' is the thing .

3.) 18 Mar 2022 12:37:52
Have always wondered why iwobi was picked under previous managers, but he us starting to look a better team player under lampard and can defend well when required, good luck to him.
3 points last night could be a turning point, avoid defeats against watford, burnley and brentford would hopefully be enough.

4.) 18 Mar 2022 15:49:05
Newcastle just about played us off the park. Our defence were superb with the midfield dropping back also. Players need to realise every game is now a cup final. Not going to pick out individuals but some are split personalities, looking/ playing like Prem top class at home and league 2 away.

People who say Phil Neville was better than Richarlison are the same people who said Lukaku was rubbish and we would’ve been better off with Anichebe or Jelavic.

Brownshoes is spot on, we let him down massively.

DCL will go to Arsenal. As for Utd, they’ll be aiming higher most likely. Depends who the manager is, Ten Haag, then worry, Poch? Nah.

Broja is miles better than Simms. Simms will be sold in the summer most likely anyway.

Broja can also play anywhere on the front 3 pretty much. Should never turn down good players.

Dobbin should be around the first team more next season, that leaves us with Richarlison because DCL will most likely be leaving. Potentially Rondon still but hopefully not.

So yes I’d say we need Broja.

Big Dunc is even less experienced as a manager and had one good game against Chelsea? .

I don’t get this mentality of “Dunc will bring PASHUN”, how will he do that when the players don’t care? “Oh they will care for Dunc because he will batter them” oh I’m sure he will lol.
