Apparently denayer from city wants to move on with otamendi joining.
Would take him in a heartbeat. Young and was arguably a better performer then van dijk last season for Celtic and everyone on here seems desperate for us to get him!
Guessing he wouldn't be too expensive either which would suit bill and the board down to the ground!

Owen Coyle on talksport about 10. 30 saying Kone expected to leave this week and EFC is his preference. Looks like a done deal. Good player but doesn't help with the average squad age! let's hope it's a decent price

1.) Good player?. please debate.

As for price, that will be a minimum of 5 million.

2.) Why is he not a good player? quick, strong & more importantly SCORES goals. what is the point in having a low average age? surely its about ability and not age

3.) So what if he is 29, if he can bang in goals for 2-3 seasons, better than having neville on the books and doing f**k all

4.) I hate fans who are so concerned about age, he's 29 not 50, you can't just bye a 18 year old no good for next season

5.) Point is he's 29 and and DOESN'T bang in goals.6mil off everton. Whelan has done well.

6.) The fans who say "I hate fans who are so concerned about age" are completely missing the point, normally we would not be bothered about signing a couple older players, but it's the fact that we have about the 2nd oldest squad in the Premier League, and we don't want to add to that and become the oldest squad! A list of the players who are over 27 (including Alcaraz and Kone if they sign)

Mucha, Howard, Jagielka, Baines, Distin, Hibbert, Alcaraz, Osman, Pienaar, Hitzlsperger, Jelavic & Kone

We should be aiming to get younger players, and fans who "hate fans who are so concerned about age" seem to think this means 17/18 year olds. Well it doesn't, it means younger than the likes of Kone & Alcaraz.

7.) I thought mucha and 'der hammer' had been released?

Well embarrassing again. We are now the 4th best team in Liverpool after Liverpool, their reserves and their u18's that villa destroyed. Surely our whole scouting network and brands need to be let go now. Not one player put in a performance.

1.) 05 Jan 2020 19:54:11
Surely you mean 5th?
Tranmere had a cracking result yesterday.

Looks like Onyekuru is done. Could prove to be a bargain looked really promising last season.
Has to go on loan next season but will only aid his development.
Onwards and upwards blues a few more now please Mr Walsh! It's finally great to be a blue!

1.) 27 Jun 2017 21:43:52
its always been great to be a blue, but I know what you mean Richris198.

Surely if we do lose lukaku to Chelsea in the summer we have to be asking for Tammy Abraham as part of the deal? This kid looks like he could be the real deal.

1.) 09 Apr 2017 14:35:16
Surely we would want a more recognised top striker? although the lad is decent.

25 Apr 2016 13:32:49
Frank de boer for me great pedigree as a player and doing a fantastic job with Ajax. Knows how to defend too which would be something different to what Bobby has put us through for the last 2 years!

Heard rumours FM was willing to pay JM £12 million a year over 3 years. Would Diego Simeone not consider £ 10 million a year with a £100 million a year to spend plus the activity from new invest regarding a new ground, training complex and youth development. Surely it's down to FM to convince the best that this is the start of greatness for our club and make the best want to be a part of it.

{Ed002's Note - You are living in a fantasy land LIam.}

2.) 25 Apr 2016 14:20:07
Ed 002. Has there been any news that you have heard over the last few days that would give credence to what's been posted on this site regarding a change in manager. Or are we all getting too excited over a Twitter storm in a tea cup?

{Ed002's Note - No TA. I don't know where this has come from, I know some were saying they had messages from inside the club etc., but perhaps Twitter was really to blame. As far as I am concerned, I expect we will see out the coming couple of weeks or so and then the club will sit down with the manager and discuss the future. From my perspective, I would think advice is perhaps already being taken, but I cannot confirm that.}

3.) 25 Apr 2016 14:38:48
Nice one Ed.

4.) 25 Apr 2016 14:48:14
Ed002: the idea that a "name" will come in, spend "mega-bucks", wave a magic wand, and bring guaranteed instant success is, I agree, sheer fantasy.
We need imho a sound strategic plan for the club - on and off the field and in the community - that is intelligently and diligently carried out by all concerned.
For all the criticism of ManCity and Chelsea about their spending and lack of first-team opportunities for young players, they have recently been very successful at U-21, U-18, and FA Youth Cup level. ManCity have done good work in the local community. Chelsea are well run financially and no longer rely on the owner to constantly bankroll them.
Everton fans should regard FM's investment as "seed money" to help start a regeneration. It's not a bottomless pit to be frittered away. We must hope that FM and his associates develop Everton into a self-sustaining viable business that (hopefully! ) delivers all-round success.

{Ed002's Note - Most of teh money will come from the new television deal Sid. It is significant. Add to that money from the likely sale of Lukak and teh possible sale of Stones.}

So Bobby thinks the game against Arsenal was a one off? I think losing 8 times at home with the best team/ squad we have had in a long time is worse than a one off! This dope has seriously lost the plot and we must get rid at the end of the season. It's no coincidence that 4 of the top 5 have the best defences in the league. No point being great attacking if you have to score 3 every game to have a chance of winning.

Brands needs to go too can't come out of this unscathed as these are his signings. Silva is poor but working with terrible players that cost a fortune to assemble which is brands faultso they should both be removed.

Didn't think we could make a worse signing than bolasie. Steve Walsh must still be pulling the strings! this guy is worse than lookman and vlasic the business is embarrassing. Would be poor if he cost £10m never mind 4 times that brands has undone all his good work with one desparate transfer.

Surely no one in here wants Moyes back? Everyone called for big Sam's head because the football wasn't good enough! Same old be careful what you wish for. Sam got the best out of a terrible bunch and proved he is ten times the manager Marco will ever be and has a clue how to defend! No point getting rid now though as no one of any real quality available who would join us.

yeah great record for Atlanta but poor everywhere else he has been. Not sure he is the answer but if brands and Marco are happy who are we to disagree. Hopefully just a late bloomer.
