Maupay on his way to Brentford, loan with option to buy.

Any truth in the Calvert-Lewin to Roma story Ed's? .

gibboEFC

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach and at best he world be well down the list. Mr Mourinho is pushing for a striker to pair Dybala with whilst Abraham is out injured. They would consider a player on loan but have a very clear first choice they will look to buy. They have also spoken to other sides about options - so for me it seems unlikely.}

1.) 26 Jul 2023 13:44:43
If we could sell him for a decent amount and reinvest in some goal scoring strikers that don’t get injured then it would be an amazing window!

I’m in the ‘sell DCL and cut loses’ camp with another season of him out injured coming up.

2.) 26 Jul 2023 15:58:00
I'd keep him, we're having problems buying 1 striker let alone selling him and find another one to replace him . And when he's fit he does make us a better team, let's hope this season he's over the worst and ready to kick on!

3.) 26 Jul 2023 12:57:45
Hi Ed. a lot of talk about cannon going out on loan. Anyone privy to the clubs plans re dobbin?

{Ed025's Note - I have not heard any plans for him to go out on loan yet Witty. But that could change if we get a decent striker in. I really like him mate and for me is miles better than that waste of space Maupay..

4.) 26 Jul 2023 17:16:50
Dobbin could have part to play. Looks for the ball and turns and attacks defence. Play up front, no10 or on wings.

{Ed025's Note - i would take him over Maupay all day dentie, he must be a bit frustrated though when he sees that crab get in the side ahead of him mate..

5.) 26 Jul 2023 21:33:49
Against Bolton he showed a bit of skill megging the one guy and then playing a perfect pass for iwobi before he chops inside and missed the chance. My mate supports derby though and wasn’t fussed about him so who knows.

6.) 27 Jul 2023 01:09:35
Cheers Ed. Some great insight as usual. It would be great to see him in and around the 1st team even if it's some cameo appearances off the bench. Agree with you all re maupay, I was pretty appalled when we signed him, he's a player I have always loathed, unfortunately he's done nothing for me to change my opinion.

30 Jun 2023 07:07:51
Do we have any interest in Piroe Ed's? . I assume Gyokeres is now Sporting bound? .

gibboEFC

{Ed002's Note - Joel Piroe (S) Leicester City have been discussing the player with Swansea for a couple of months but Swansea deferred discussions until after the play offs. Leicester have made a verbal offer to test the waters but right now I think that is it. Salernitana, who will see him as an alternative to Boulaye Dia, have asked for discussions. There may well have been general enquiries from other sides but nothing I can confirm.}

1.) 30 Jun 2023 18:13:28
Take this as you want but, I’m an Everton fan living in Swansea. My freinds, who are Swansea fans reckon they were speaking with Ellis Sims today in Swansea. They said he’s signing for them but again, I was not there so cannot comment either way. Just putting out there what I’ve been told. Could be a make weight in the Pirroe deal ?‍♂️.

2.) 30 Jun 2023 20:39:15
He been spotted at training ground apparently.

3.) 30 Jun 2023 22:09:42
Can’t see Swansea matching out valuation if we’ve already turned down a £4m bid.

The most they’ve paid for a player over the last 5 seasons was £3.4m and that was 5 seasons ago. Most recently £2m highest price they’ve paid for a player.

Only way I see him going to Swansea is if it is in a deal with one of their players joining us and Ed002 has mentioned on several occasions those deals are very unusual.

4.) 30 Jun 2023 23:14:33
We been linked with there striker like joel piroe but not many swap deals happen now.

5.) 01 Jul 2023 09:21:19
Not swap deals maybe, but does allow for negotiation on transfer fees paid.

6.) 01 Jul 2023 10:28:09
Always worry about deals we make with Swansea - they seem to come out on top and overcharge.

We paid way too much for both Ashley Williams and gylfi from them - hopefully Thelwell is a decent negotiator.

7.) 01 Jul 2023 11:45:56
A swap deal might be complex but there are other ways to work around it?

You can have simms for 2mil but you need to accept an offer from us of “x” amount for another one of your players?

I guess a bit like the lukaku plus £80mil and Rooney swap? There wasn’t actually a swap involved but everything was agreed beforehand, to send a player in each direction?

How accurate the reports are not sure but a foreign journalist has said Sulemana has chosen to go to Southampton.

gibboEFC

1.) 31 Jan 2023 12:25:08
Another 'respected' Jouralist said yhree medicals booked today, one of them Sulemana, didn't know who the other two are. Our sum ambition is Ayew.

2.) 31 Jan 2023 12:49:50
And Ben Johnson.

3.) 31 Jan 2023 12:53:38
Respected, maybe but at the moment appears to be wrong with Kamaldeen Sulemana.

28 Aug 2022 12:42:46
Think I know the answer to this, given you've already said neither will be signing for us, but read a report the Chelsea have bid 25m+ Gallagher and Broja. I suspect I know the answer but I had to ask?! .

gibboEFC

1.) 28 Aug 2022 14:45:37
Obviously I’m not an Ed, but the best source out there is The Bobble and he’s said nothing about it. It’s also ridiculous anyway. It’s the equivalent to Arsenal offering Saka and Smith Rowe for Jacob Ramsay at Villa.

It's a bit mad we have already won more away games this season than the entirety of last season. 1 more away win and we will match the total away wins for the last 2 seasons combined.

gibboEFC

1.) 12 Nov 2023 09:18:09
Nice stat. Shows how poor we have been. But steady progress I hope now.

2.) 12 Nov 2023 12:12:11
How different things are when you take your chances eh Witty. Didn’t set the world alight yesterday but took the chances when they came. Think the aim of game this season is to finish 12+ clear of the relegation zone. Would be more than happy with that and think it’s possible in our current for with how the bottom 3 are playing.

3.) 12 Nov 2023 12:53:46
Just what we have always wanted, Sean has them in their right positions playing the Sean Dyche way, now we are winning, long may it last.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely GB..

4.) 12 Nov 2023 13:22:02
I'd be surprised if a team needs more than 26 points to stay safe this season. I think if we can get above the mid 40s would be a great season for us and I believe we can do that.

5.) 12 Nov 2023 14:39:52
Even the bench looks reasonably strong these days, 4 or 5 considered first team regulars at one point. Injuries will play a big part for us this season. No idea what our financial situation means for January, but if we can see off a couple more big earners in the summer (Gomes and Keane as a start) and get in 2/ 3 that improve on what we have, we can look forward to better league finishes.

6.) 12 Nov 2023 15:09:34
Agree jbtoffee. If we are going with priority order, can I request Keane then gomes?!?! ;-)

7.) 12 Nov 2023 22:03:31
Gomes, Deli then Keane. In that order. £250k+ a week saving there on players no where near the starting 11. Get in 4 hungry players for less than £50k each and we would have a chance of depth in the squad.

Anyone know if Southampton are wanting Holgate on a permanent basis?

8.) 13 Nov 2023 09:18:22
BR23-24 my mate support Southampton, he's been shocking and is now on the bench, they won't want him on a full, Forrest green wouldn't want him that's how bad he's been.

23 Apr 2023 08:59:45
Look on the bright side, at least Holgate is suspended for the next game.

According to the mirror, we have had a £180m naming rights offer from adult site stripchat, they want to call it the stripchat sustainability stadium. could you imagine. ???‍♂️.

gibboEFC

{Ed025's Note - I should get a discount then gibbo.. ?

1.) 07 Oct 2022 19:54:58
Hope they last the pace of the Premiership gibbo mate ??.

2.) 07 Oct 2022 21:53:46
Some of the fluffers we have left in the squad might still come in handy then ?.

3.) 08 Oct 2022 08:01:40
And all's I could think of was when I read that article, they make that much money on them sites ? where's my camera ??.

4.) 08 Oct 2022 16:15:05
To be fair it’s great marketing. I’d never heard of Stripchat before. Obviously now I will need to check it out, just for research purposes, nothing else.

5.) 08 Oct 2022 18:54:43
Stripping off to come on as sub will take on a new meaning.

03 Sep 2022 15:02:33
I know we didn't get the win but if we can maintain that level of performance then I have no concerns for the season ahead.

gibboEFC

1.) 03 Sep 2022 17:44:50
Not one bad performance today, a good team display. Matter of fractions of an inch offside for the disallowed goal, sooner or latter we will get VAR going our way.

2.) 03 Sep 2022 21:35:57
Probably when we are 3 0 up and it won't matter.

3.) 03 Sep 2022 21:55:32
He was offside! The other day though that was ridiculous 'we looked at shadows'.

Yes I do understand that, however if transactions have been given permission by the very body that wants to then charge us that is negligent.

In my business if I advised a customer something was above board and then they got prosecuted for fraud I would be professionally negligent.

It’s not a shock, personally I think this is a political power play by the EPL to try and prevent independent regulation, by attempting to show their house is in order. Hence the seeming change in opinion from we approve your spending to charges.

gibboEFC

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with that. Stop scratching around looking to blame someone else - are you a Liverpool fan.}

If this charge relates to a year when the premier league were supervising our books surely that could be deemed as professional negligence on the EPL’s part.

gibboEFC

{Ed002's Note - Try and get away from the Merseyside obsession with trying to blame someone else. You have known about the problems for a very long time and - I have explained over and over, none of it should be a shock.}

I mean he didn’t pick Keane, he was forced to just try and park the bus with Youngs sending off. If that didn’t happen he’d have never be brought on.

Shame he didn’t go before the deadline, may have opened up some more options for us…. Or was that the plan from the top…

Any good free agents out there? .

If we’re to bring anyone in it really should be right wing and perhaps a creative midfielder. Do we even have a natural right winger since Townsend left? .

Great result. Just a quick observation but I think the defensive side of Mykolenkos game has come on leaps and bounds this season. Made some great interceptions in the last few games.

Controversial to say, but it but makes me wonder if the fans are part of the issue, okay away from home with a few thousand but whenever they’re out in front the Goodison crowd they go to bits, almost like there’s this overwhelming pressure they can’t cope with.

Don’t get it, Garner has been excellent in centre mid and he puts him back on the right wing. I’m an advocate for Dyche but that’s poor.
