Do any of the Ed's if there is any serious interest in Moises caicedo l? And is he any good?
I m probably wrong but I have a bad feeling about Eriksson, seems he left spurs under a cloud and hasn't worked out at inter. I doubt we would get him either on a loan or a perm anyway. Either way he is one I would swerve. I would be happy with just Aaron's and as few outs.

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - He cannot be compared to Eriksen at all, Khedira perhaps. My understanding is that Moises Caicedo impressed when Manchester United were following up on looking at another player who they had first seen in the Real Sociedad reserves. There has been interest in Caicedo from other sides including Ajax, Atlanta, Inter Miami, PSV and Chelsea. Someone senior at Chelsea is very keen. I am not aware of any approach by Everton but an independent scout who has worked for Everton in South America attended games to watch him in September and October.}

30 Nov 2020 15:58:55
Is this khedira news nonsense? Surely we don't want a 33 year old when we signed allan?
I don't understand why niels and anthony gordon can't get a game. Find the whole situation really bizarre. 1st half against fulham is exactly how I want to see everton play but last game and a half has been dire. I think we need a lot more pace and width which surely niels and gordon would bring?

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - There is no doubt the player would be open to working with the coach agains, and he will be available in January. Makes no sense for Everton at all.}

Was hoping we would be moving away from being a final pay cheque club.

Excellent result. Made up but also feel we should be going there and winning. With the amount of injuries they have why not? It's just 3 points and need to back it up and put some wins together.
Anyone notice how that fantastic broadcasting society 'the beeb' failed to highlight the disgusting cheating by salah and mane?! Ironic how he portrays his religion after goal celebrations yet he cheats every time he sets foot on the pitch! Not sure who is the biggest disgrace Salah or the BBC?!

Whitty39

{Ed0666's Note - can you please pinpoint where it says in the ‘Quran’ which is the central religious text of Islam where Mohammad Salah cannot fall to the ground when fouled? Just enjoy you’re three points and a well deserved win but please try and keep you’re ‘English Defense League’ rhetoric between you and you’re knuckle dragging friends.

1.) 21 Feb 2021 00:50:43
Can you also point out to me were in the Quran, Hebrew bible, tripitaka, bible or any other text associated to religion were it encourages cheating and dishonesty? Bet you don't publish this?!
Deeply offended by your pathetic response. I have no association to the edl etc etc far from it. So why you came up with that link I have absolutely no idea. Guess you are just very bitter about the result. For the record most of my mates are lfc fans (oh and non edl supporters too) even they all agree Salah is a cheat irrespective of his religious beliefs. I was merely pointing out the irony whether he be christian, jew, Muslim or Buddhist.

{Ed0666's Note - I have no problem with losing to you're team. You deserved it as you were Trojans and brave.
While we’re on the subject of religion weren’t the crusades fought in the name of God and how many innocent lives were taken? Isn’t that a form of cheating? slaughtering on battlefields hundreds and thousands of blameless people on either side.
You’re so quick call Salah a cheat yet there’s no stonewall evidence to the contrary. Who says he’s a cheat? You? Well let’s all listen to a keyboard know it all and let you be the authority on simulation. Salah gets manhandled game after game and he goes down sometimes. I’m sorry his falling on the floor isn’t graceful enough for you but newsflash when you’re getting kicked from pillar to post by a big solid guy grace goes out of the window.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 05:37:35
Leave it out lads. Let's not spoil the weekend with petty squabbles. The vast majority of footballers go down far too easily. We have a few in our team that have taken lessons at RADA

Just enjoy a great win. a deserved win.

{Ed0666's Note - there’s a difference between cheating and going down easily. Like you say fair play to you guys you came to Anfield and came away with the points. No complaints from me. Good luck to you boys for the rest of the season.

3.) 21 Feb 2021 09:29:02
I read all this and thought two things:

1. Simulation is a form of cheating. Whether it be Salah, Richarlison or anyone who goes down to manipulate decisions from the officials. Sadly, it’s part of the everyday game nowadays. Didn’t Rashford or someone recently talk about being coached how to do it? It’s part and parcel or the game - not one I agree with but it’s there unfortunately.

2. Religion has nothing to do with it.

4.) 21 Feb 2021 10:04:19
Good post BR. Sarah might want to get in touch with Rashford’s coach. I think we all accept that players will take advantage of contact these days, Richy does. In my opinion, Sarah and Mane did employ these tactics to an extent that should have been punished and wasn’t.

Anyway, forget that, we beat Liverpool at Anfield last night. Happy Sunday everyone.

5.) 21 Feb 2021 14:01:43
Banter is banter and it’s always good to have a healthy rivalry between the two clubs but draw the line somewhere and win with dignity. It was a good day for you guys and Richarlison took his chance well but leave religion out of it.

6.) 21 Feb 2021 16:43:23
Yeah fair play and good comment. Irrespective of my thoughts on Salah and or mane I'm not doubting there ability. Also I for 1 also think klopp is a class fella and manager. Good luck to lfc for the rest of the season. I'm sure you will pick up and this season was always going to be a difficult task with unprecedented injury levels (I know every team has injuries in a season but liverpool have been very unlucky in this area)
I won't say anymore on the matter and never wanted to set out to offend anyone so more than happy to draw a line under it and move on.

{Ed0666's Note - yes mate let’s just move on and draw a line. This is a conversation over a glass of something rather than text.
Talking about having a drink the amount of abuse and ridicule I’ve endured since yesterday should have me being a raging alcoholic. I truly hope you don’t beat us for another 22 years otherwise I’ll have to go into hibernation 😂

7.) 21 Feb 2021 19:18:22
To be fair it's one win at anfield in 22 years. Like I've said majority of my mates are reds and they have battered me with abuse for sometime lol. Bigger picture is liverpudlians are class irrespective of whether red or blue and the city has 2 fantastic football teams (5 if you include tranmere southport and marine! ) . If i see you in a pub in liverpool post C.V. 1st drinks on me :-)

What a game of football. Absolutely bonkers. I've no nails left and cracked open a bottle of rum to calm my nerves. I'm one of the 1st on here to criticise him, but tom Davies was absolutely sensational tonight. He has picked up lately and that's the best I've seen from him in sometime, a really mature performance from him. Broke up play but looked forward as well. Delighted for him. The creativity from sigurdsson for the 5th just wow and the finish from bernard sublime. Dacoure is a 1st name on the team sheet for me as well as godfrey. How many corners did spurs have was that some sort of record?! Wow they can take a corner but the defending was very worrying. Despite shipping 4 olsen to me still has to be our number 1.
Onwards and upwards.

Thought andre gomes was class tonight. Decent performance all round i thought. I'm convinced that a right back won't be coming this month or in the summer. I think defensively we are sorted. Honestly think godfrey is too good to not play and either he or holgate will step up for coleman. Good the youngsters got a run out.

1.) 25 Jan 2021 07:21:01
Whitty, I agree mate, a good night all round.

1st game was 86/ 87 season. Dad took me to the everton home game against norwich, we won 4-1 think it was the game sheedy had an assist were he chipped the ball over there defense.

Apparently at half time I asked my dad if we could go home now! I was only 5 at the time. My dad has been a fan since the 60s having had season tickets in the past he use to work for the gas board on bold street and had plenty of colleagues he would attend games with.

Anyway in summary a great start to my everton watching career which has gone a bit west since then. God that team with barry Horne in it was awful but they did have spirit, worst team since supporting them (imo ) last season's. Worst manager walker.

Have to say I couldn't stand bobby brown shoes and Allardyce was different levels of embarrassment. I'm optimistic now though and hope and think we will see better days and times!

Think some perspective is required. Yes it was a poor performance however west ham were poor and nicked it by a scruffy goal. Should have done far more to be up by halftime. I'm not sure if a sitting midfielder was required against west ham. Thought keane should have started ahead of mina. Would have gone with gomes and dacoure in midfield with james on the right and richarlison or Gordon on the left. Think had we had some intent to be up by half time it would have been a different story. If someone had said we would be were we are I the table now I would have taken that As would most of you. It's a shame we couldn't make it 5 wins but hey if it's a one off poor performance I can accept that. In summary I don't think carlo selected the right team tonight. Another thought is left back. Godfrey is absolutely class but we never seemed to want to attack down the left which leaves me scratching my head as to why the french left back we signed doesn't at least come on 2nd half. I feel he would bring us much more threat down the left while digne is unavailable.

1.) 01 Jan 2021 20:19:32
West Ham poor? They could have won that by 3 or. 4 goals. They ran at us at every opportunity, and we had no answer to it.
And it’s not about being happy at where we are in the league now. It’s about having the chance to consolidate that position and totally wasting it.

2.) 01 Jan 2021 20:39:00
Respect your opinion but from the game I watched a draw was absolutely the right outcome. We played into there hands but I personally didn't see how they could have beaten us by 3 or 4 goals. I'm disappointed by the result and more the performance but what are fans realistic expectations? That we are going to win every game? Win the league? Top 4? Personally I would be happy with top 7 still. We are far from the finished article but i can see much progress / improvement since Ancelotti appointment.

3.) 01 Jan 2021 21:24:17
We looked a tired team today. Plus players coming back in ie Coleman James looked off the pace but not surprising they need game time. If we’d have sneaked a lucky goal like West Ham did, everyone would be praising Ancelotti and rightly so. We r what we r and that’s not a top 4 team. With the players at his disposal the Don is doing an awesome job! DCL looked tired out and when Tosun was his replacement it shows how paper thin r squad is.
I don’t think there will be any incomings in Jan so we all need to get behind CA and stay positive!
COYB! In The Don we trust.

{Ed025's Note - i will have most of that PHH, but we are dire to watch at times mate and we need to be less negative in possession..

4.) 01 Jan 2021 21:28:20
I get what you're saying whitty and a 0-0 draw should have been the end result from 2 horrendously low quality teams.

But we had the team and players with the ability to absolutely steam roll that West ham side that turned up today. But for some reason the same dross played that have consistently failed and that was probably the worst Everton performance I have watched this season.

{Ed025's Note - i agree chris..

5.) 01 Jan 2021 21:41:26
I too agree Ed 25 we were dire today but I really think tiredness and poor depth of squad plus returning players not fit were reason. I don’t think Sigs, Davies, Tosun are good enough to hit top 4 but it’s what CA has inherited and he will need a few windows. In 1 window he has made r squad so much better so let’s not let doom mongers get carried away is all I’m saying.

{Ed025's Note - i can see that PHH but the least we can ask for is effort and application mate, there was not much of that today imo..

6.) 01 Jan 2021 22:03:04
I agree with u Ed25 I didn’t see much of that either but ever team incl the reds have had some poor performances over this hectic period. Today was ours. Let’s all move on but not get carried away when we get a lucky win or unluckily lose.

{Ed025's Note - that was not an unlucky loss though PHH we got exactly what we deserved, we cant even play the tiredness card either, we are fit enough to play the ball back to the keeper then run back 50 yards to get it back off him, then play it sideways then back again, its about movement without the ball and making space for yourself which we dont do enough mate..

7.) 01 Jan 2021 22:21:35
West Ham deserved the win because they went for it in the second half. We produced nothing. That was their full back who scored, ours hardly got beyond the half way line.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that woburn mate..

Any links to defenders surely must be nonsense a right back maybe although I'd be very surprised if we signed a RB this window whether loan or perm. I'm not sure we will sign a RB in the summer, offensively is were we need to concentrate on after we have got rid of the players surplus to requirements.

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - Everton have been looking at RBs as I have explained.}

Just throwing it out there, do we need a right back? I was thinking Aaron's would be a great addition however, branthwaite just gone on loan to Blackburn (looks a quality future CB) leaves us with mina and keane who are both playing well and holgate and godfrey, however am I right that godfrey can play RB? (Could be totally wrong as I know he has covered for digne) digne is our 1st choice lb but the young Frenchman seems like a quality understudy. Holgate can play rb? Maybe Ancelotti wants to adapt him to play there?
Now thinking rb isn't actually a priority (again forgive me I could be totally wrong lol)
I'm not an advocate of pickford but he's been ok of late, Olson good understudy.
Still think we are missing a midfielder with some quality to unlock a defence and obviously a striker or forward that can play across a front 3.
Dont think sigurdsson or davies are reliable enough. Iwobi having a stormer means i think the following will go (eventually! )
-Besic
-lossl
-Bolasie
-Kean to psg
-Kenny
-Walcott
-Bernard not cut it and iwobi keeps him out

I don't rate davies or sigurdsson but I think those above will go way before sigs and davies. I think Ancelotti is getting a tune out of sigurdsson and using him quite well. I think the reality is he's going nowhere as he can be utilised within the squad and we will never recoup anything like the 40 odd mill we paid for him!

Umtetti is a nonsense rumour imo. We have a lot of centre backs but a severe lack of quality on the right and right back. The problem area in the team is if richarlison or Calvert lewin get injured. The other issue is although we had a great window, gomes (jury. is out) is still coming back from a terrible injury and the other options off the bench in the spine of the team is the icelandic statue of liberty and davies.

Not going to get on Ancelotti back but he baffles me at times. Iwobi deserved a shirt today at rwb seeing as he did a good job there last weekend. Why he is then switched to the left when we have nkonku (probably the wrong spelling! ) Is just weird. The lad has looked unbelievable when he has played and is good going forward down the left therefore surely compliments a back 3? Davies and sigurdsson should be training with marine or southport as far as I'm concerned. Where is gordon? He was our best performer end of last season. Can understand why posters are annoyed. what do I know lol.

An lfc fan / mate of mine scoffed at us asking 70 million. thing is why not. Not saying we will get 70 million but surely a significant profit on what we paid for him. Maybe he's not suited to the prem but certainly on current form one of the best strikers in europe so maybe not unreasonable to expect upwards of 50 million?!
