Danjuma could be a goer, Notts Forest now in talks to take 31 yr old Chris Woods from Newcastle.

I hope we are not pinning our prem status on this guy he’s another journeyman.

Journeyman?. The guys 25 who's stats are decent, done well at Villarreal.

Get him in. Improves us.

Better than what we have, he’s welcome.

Has to better than what we have surely.

5.) 19 Jan 2023
19 Jan 2023 09:24:00
He is miles better than what we have. Scored goals in Holland, prem for Bournemouth who were garbage and Spain plus the champions league. We’ve got Anthony Gordon who couldn’t get a game for Preston in the championship and Dwight McNeil who hasn’t scored 10 goals in his whole career over 5 years!

19 Jan 2023 10:39:00
We need to start going back to the old moyes days of targeting good solid hard working players, Gravesend, Carsley, Cahill, Big Dunc, Stubbs etc. Not these final paycheck prima donnas.

7.) 19 Jan 2023
19 Jan 2023 11:19:35
Said that but name the players Moyes could get the best out of here.

Lets be honest! The club has gone to pot since Moyes left the club. Bill gets Moshiri in as the money man and unfortunately it hasn't worked out as the people employed are obviously useless. They Board need to look at themselves and resign. The sooner they go the better! Should be interesting at the weekend as both managers could get their marching orders!

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that.}

Whilst i agree he is better than what we have. To say he is miles better is a stretch. He still doesn't fill me with confidence that he could bring us goals. I think they are much better options, especially when you take into account that his fee will be around 20/ 30 million by all accounts.

He scored 1 in 12 in the Eredivisie. He then dropped down to Eerste Divisie and socred 12.

He actually scored 0 for Bournemouth in the Premier League.

5 in 20 in the Belgian League 9 (for some perspective Onyekuru bagged 22 before we signed him) ?

As for La Liga, Aspas bags in the 20's or high teens most seasons and he was shocking in the Prem across the park.

Anyone who wants moyes back needs to remember he signed these players to name a few:

Anderson silva
Simon Davies
Per Kroldrup
Andy van der meyde
Shkodran Mustafi - then let him go
Bilyaletdinov
Mageye Gueye
Vellios

Whilst we had some good signings under him we had some awful ones too.

Ah Bily could hit one though, every now and again.

Gingerdan. Of course there were those signings. On the whole I think it's safe to say Moyes won. How many managers never made a signing that didn't work out?

13.) 19 Jan 2023
19 Jan 2023 18:27:55
NBTB - there’s probably no manager that’s never made a bad signing.

However is it the manager that signs the players or the director of football?

There are loads moaning about Franks signings for us, but how many of them did he actually sign?

Like previous managers we’ll never know who was a manager choice, who was a director of football choice, who was a chairman’s choice and who was just a dodgy deal to appease someone.

Was Moyes good as he had an owner that bought who he wanted, was it because the league was easier back then?

Is Frank poor as he’s got an owner and director of football picking players for him that he wouldn’t want, is it because the league is now harder?

For me it’s hard to say which one is better as both managing the team at different stages - would Frank have been as good or better the time moyes was in charge? Probably.

Would Moyes do a better job than frank currently is? Probably not as he’s struggling with a better squad at West Ham.

All I can say is I definitely don’t want Moyes back.

{Ed025's Note - me neither dan..

19 Jan 2023 19:02:35
Please tell me you’re not seriously trying to compare frank to Moyes gingerdan? When Moyes was in charge he worked on a shoestring. Frank would have relegated us the way he will this season. He has signed 7 players and will have had a huge input into those signings, of which only one looks decent and that is only potential. He has spent decent money too so no excuses he just isn’t good enough. I’m not saying Moyes is the messiah, but he is streets ahead of frank and always will be irrespective of whether you want him back or not.

Ginger…. You forgot, and I quote “He will be the next England no 1 Richard Wright ?.

16.) 19 Jan 2023
19 Jan 2023 22:19:37
Frank would probably have done a better job than Moyes. what on earth is that based on?!?!

17.) 20 Jan 2023
20 Jan 2023 09:17:24
Based on nothing.

Which is exactly what some fans in here are using to suggest Moyes would be a good appointment.

He did well at a time the league was easier.
He left us and then tried to purchase players on the cheap from us.
He’s spent a fortune at West Ham and is on the same points as us.

What is anyone basing the suggestion he’d be a good re-appointment on? The past that's ancient history absolutely no evidence that he’d be a good appointment in this current time, in fact I’d imagine it would cause even more uproar with the fans if we did reappoint him.

18.) 20 Jan 2023
20 Jan 2023 22:41:03
He did however get west ham to was it 5th last season and to the latter stages of the Europa league. I'm not saying efc should appoint him by the way!
(Frank I think was the last roll of the dice and its failed. You could have pep and klopp in charge and we will still get relegated) I like Frank, just like I liked most of the prev managers. I think we are doomed due to moshiri as well as Koeman/ Walsh reign when they signed 20 of the crapest number10s and no striker. Its been an avalanche of garbage since and further mistakes that have tipped the iceberg.

Think West hams downfall this season is playing a different way less direct tried to incorporate a better quality type of player but hasn't clicked. To be honest I think they will turn it around anyway. With our mob I cannot see another win to be honest.

21 Jan 2023 00:09:37
Whitty, quick question on something you have said (others have too) but if tomorrow we unveiled Pep or Klopp as our new manager… Do you really think we would get relegated?
I understand if you are making the point that this is not all of FL, but you don’t think the lift to the players, us fans and the media (in wanting them to succeed) alone would have a positive effect? Let alone the talent they both have?
I’m talking about not being relegated here not winning the league btw?

23 Jan 2023 20:44:44
In reply Blu1 I have to say no. Not from what I'm seeing from this bunch of players.
Also some downright snobbery on here (not from your good self ) but comments like what has x manager won etc. Win something.? We can't win a game of football, need to try walking before we can run. Like it or not for a fair majority on here moyes is the best a lot probably would have seen, ok we never won any silverware but at least we had a squad of players I could be proud of supporting.
If i was going to pinpoint this mess on one manager then it would be keoman but I'm with the majority here that it starts and stops with the board.
