Hi Ed’s, sorry if this has been asked / answered already but I did have a quick look Q: Do you know what the situation is with Sandro Ramirez? There is nothing to say he has returned to The country let alone the club or pre-season training.

{Ed002's Note - He was priced out of the move he wanted. I really don’t know where he is.}

1.) 24 Aug 2020 21:40:51
Cheers Ed, thought it was strange that as one of our ‘huger paid’ players that the local papers never seem to mention him anymore. I can’t imagine we wanted a return on him (7mil was he? ) but I expect we wanted half that at least on top of his wages off the books. Hey ho, another marvellous transfer that has gone our way 🙈.

2.) 24 Aug 2020 22:07:34
I don’t know if this is true or if this sort of thing is even possible but I read he has a clause in his contract that he can’t be loaned out in the last year of his contract unless it includes an option to buy.

3.) 25 Aug 2020 15:04:12
Hi Blue, Everton and Real Valladolid eventually reached an agreement, but it seems it was Ramírez making sacrifices that made it happen.

According to Pucela Fichajes, he earns around €5m per year at Everton, but they claim, citing journalist Christina Bea, that the striker has foregone a ‘significant amount’ from that total to ensure his short-term stay in Spain.

How much he’s given up isn’t mentioned, but it seems likely to be a reasonably high one as it’s stated that his full salary is ‘unattainable’ for Real Valladolid.

What remains to be seen is whether he’s willing to do the same to secure a permanent exit from Everton this summer.

It’s been made clear that Valladolid can’t afford his current packet or anything near for that matter, nor can they afford Everton’s demands for a deal.

If Ramírez is willing to take a permanent pay cut, though, that could open the door to a deal and let Everton get rid of a player they’ve made clear they don’t want. hope this helps.

4.) 25 Aug 2020 22:48:25
Thanks BigNev, I pretty much new some of that and thanks for filling the gaps in etc. but he ain’t with Valladolid currently and hasn’t returned to us like Kenny, Besic and Bolasie is my understanding? I wonder where he is then and why no return?

5.) 26 Aug 2020 00:36:09
Doubt we can even give him a free transfer, see him winding his contract down onloan, while still taking a big chunk from Everton.

27 Jul 2018 20:58:42
Lookman and Walcott not travelled with the squad to France today due to ‘injuries’ . anyone else smell a rat? This story that came out that we rested Lookman when RB Leipzig has sent a scout to watch against Bury? Anyone else think. you have had the lad for the best part of 5 months, why on Earth are you sending a scout to watch him ‘potentially’ play in a pre-season friendly? Is it just me folks or can anyone male any sense of all this?

{Ed025's Note - sounds a bit fishy to me blu..

1.) 27 Jul 2018 21:21:09
Hi Ed . any thoughts? Or Ideas what could be going on, I’d even listed to conspiracy theories at the moment 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣.

{Ed025's Note - things will become clearer next week blu, we are guessing at the moment mate but the lookman issue does not seem to be going away so that is a concern..

2.) 27 Jul 2018 21:43:46
Just let him go if he wants to, or anybody else for that matter. It was said about Klaassen earlier, Koeman, Unsworth, Allardyce and now Silva and the kid (Lookman) obviously can not get any guarantees. If he came through our youth system he would have been long gone but because we paid a decent fee I think we have false hope for him.

3.) 27 Jul 2018 22:02:19
Part of me agrees with that but given our precarious defending capabilities, I'd have thought we should at least protect the creative capabilities we currently have. which lookman is a very big part of imo. at the moment the squad is actually weaker than last season. Mori gone, Rooney (top scorer) gone. there is still time left and I'm positive we'll sign at least 2 more players, but I'd like to see us bring in players before we consider offloading anyone else.

4.) 27 Jul 2018 22:20:46
Jcl I don't 100% want him to leave I just feel we had so many reported divisions in the squad last season it maybe time to ship out players who have a higher opinion of themselves than is true. The guy scored on his debut when he went to Germany, went about 8 games without scoring and finished the season on fire when other players were knackered/ already on their holidays. People say we underachieved last year, did we? Or have we just got a load of average, overpriced prima donnas? Obvious players excluded from that criticism.

5.) 27 Jul 2018 22:35:51
U make some good observations. on gut alone I think he is going to be class and we've struggled creatively. I'd like this lad to b given a chance with us.

6.) 27 Jul 2018 21:34:11
Agree Ed, if it means we can bring others in that want to play for us and more importantly improve us then ok, I wait with intrigue and hope 🤞 Thanks as always.

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

02 Sep 2017 18:52:10
Jiminez, Raul Jiminez, trying to get him on loan at the 11th hour SA90 doesn't not seem like a manager who is happy with his lot, in fact it seems like the complete opposite, ala Valencia last season who is that good that he is not plying his trade in Mexico! Don't make me laugh! As for Drivel GB, I've been to Anfiled and watched us for the last x9 Seasons running and trust me, I know Drivel when I see it, I really do. I want Nil Satis Nisi Optimum to mean something, otherwise take it from our badge. I want more, I expect more and don't want to be sold down the river anymore. Markee Signing my arse!

1.) 02 Sep 2017 19:49:02
Jesus dude, I'm an Arsenal fan. Your team was unbelievably pro active in getting the players you wanted. alright so you missed out on one or two that you wanted. I'd kill to be in your position. honestly I think your team will finish above us!

2.) 02 Sep 2017 21:13:18
I know, I don't want to come across that we have had an awful window but I feel the opportunity was there this time to do something more that's all. As for killing to be in our position, . really? You seem to have finished above us for the past 20 odd yrs and I can barely remember our last Arsenal away win, Kanchelskis I think? Thanks for the nudge for me being a bit over the top, but nudge back "kill to be in Everton's position" come on.

3.) 02 Sep 2017 22:19:16
As a team of young, hungry combative committed footballers? Yes, I would. That crap we had to put up with recently is awful. You guys really seem like a team on the up. I'm envious is all!

4.) 03 Sep 2017 09:59:26
I think the whole having money to spend was smoke and mirrors. Our net spend was down there with teams like Huddersfield and Bournemouth. We are putting to much depency on Rooney who's ability to last the season is up for debate. That said I like the post above about our potential future line up which could have Josh Bowler, Sambou, Foulds, Anton Donker and I'm sure we have more coming through.

5.) 03 Sep 2017 15:30:08
The usual post transfer embarrassing posts.

6.) 03 Sep 2017 15:58:28
Hi Smit666, i'm not embarrassed about our transfer activity, more personal frustration as I had bought into the (media led) Markee signing and step change mentality. Yet again our best player has left and on paper and we have gone for what I see as development players and not a proven replacement. Hope you understand. Love the blues jus frustrated which is strange as I should be so immune to it by now. P. s - I am a big Lukaku and Barkley fan so that doesn't help either!

7.) 03 Sep 2017 17:28:51
We have had a sniff of marquee over the last couple of Windows like Mata and witsel non of which were signed or even targets. Siggurdson is enough of a statement signing. I don't want to go back to reliance of a big man like we did with Lukaku. City, liverpool and Arsenal have had good success in this league without that type of player I'm sure we can.

8.) 04 Sep 2017 11:41:42
At then end of the day am sure we were trying our hardest to get a "Marquee" signing, Its not the RK's fault or Bill's or Moshiri's or Walsh' if the big name player couldn't be convinced to join us. I for one am happy we didn't panic like we did last year and sign drivel. I am glad they looked at the very best and then when they couldn't get them they stuck with what we have. I also think DCL will get us goals bewteen now and January. If we are in and around the top 4 by then, we might be able to attract a top top striker. Heads up Blues! This is the best position I have seen us in (I am only 23)

9.) 04 Sep 2017 12:23:00
Hey zck I'm 27 and it's the best position I have seen us in. I'm excited for the season and the next few after that. I trust the staff/ owners at Everton and I believe they will produce, it will just take some time.

Hi Ed’s, just out of curiosity do any of you know under what circumstances that Watford have now been given a WP for Joao Pedro? . I know it’s been over a season but given we have struggled with this in the past and this kid hasn’t kicked a ball outside of S. America? I wondered if it’s the ‘Special Talent’ but from what I have read it’s not 🤯.

{Ed002's Note - I would need to ask. Sorry I don’t know.}

1.) 16 Jan 2020 22:46:18
Of course Ed, - thanks as always.

2.) 17 Jan 2020 14:38:57
special talent would be my guess. rated very highly over in brazil and was talks at one stage of real or Barcelona buying him off watford before even kicking a ball.

12 Aug 2019 17:34:48
I am not 100 per cent ready just yet – and I need to be faster - I've had only one week of training with the team, so I will keep going and work very hard. these are JP comments folks, however what I further read into this is . But I was still worth the gamble ahead of Tom Davies! . What’s everyone’s thoughts? - I have never been a massive TD fan you see.

1.) 12 Aug 2019 20:24:19
I think Tom Davies is just turned 20 and is a different midfielder to both JP and Andre Gomes, I know at age19 he broke into the first team and scored a goal against city, I know Silva made him Captain of our club, I know that I will never get to pick the first team of our great club and thankfully neither will you, your thought process is devisive bordering on Machiavellian. Is Tom Davies the next victim of the boo boys someone to blame another local lad made good, Barclay, Osman, Hibbert. It puzzles me why people feel it necessary to point a finger and find someone to single out as not good enough.
I think if you haven’t got something nice to say about someone you should remain quiet, I also think that if you think you can read the mind of someone from them saying one thing and you spinning a different meaning out of moonbeams to justify your own dislikes is slightly worrying and I suggest you go and get a check up from the neck up, Mind you that’s only my opinion based on what you wrote?!?! What’s everyone else think?, and to be honest I don’t know you, I’ve never met you and I’m not sure I want to, and given the choice I’d play Tom alongside JP as they appear to be the only two fit midfielders we have . Get behind the squad or get off the bus .
Sorry rant over but the post wowned me up
I’m sure you a nice person just misdirected
Big C.

2.) 12 Aug 2019 20:36:06
Tom did well in a struggling team never hid always wanting the ball the lad needs a bit of support he's only 20.

3.) 12 Aug 2019 20:42:35
Tom is 20 and doesn't need to be a starter or even 1st choice sub.
He will come on here and there and will progress from the experience.

If in a couple of seasons he hasn't started getting on the team sheet then he might need to move on.
Until then he is ok.

4.) 13 Aug 2019 20:07:27
I like TD but think he is in a difficult position at Everton. I don't believe he, or anyone knows what his best position is.
He does not have the defensive qualities of a Gueye as the defensive midfielder but he also hasn't demonstrated the vision or passing ability of a Gomes or Siggy in the advanced positions. What he does have is a good engine and a passion to do well for Everton.

He's still very young and has the time to grow into a position but - and this is why I think he is in a difficult position. I=Is he going to get a run of games in the side, on one position, so he can learn that role? Unfortunately all I can see is, on the bench at best, and coming on for cameos at the end.

I'm sure Silva believes in him and will be working hard with him in training but, unless there is an injury to someone in front of him, I think he will struggle to develop into a top player due to lack of playing time and no consistency in position.
He, and Silva, need to decide on what is his best position and work on improving that role.

09 Aug 2019 16:43:50
From Zouma and Zaha to Iwobi and Rojo. now if that is’nt typical Everton I don’t know what is. Personally I am only gutted over the fact that we didn’t get a left footed forward as I still think that’s what we need and I know on a number of occasions both MS and MB have commented on.

1.) 09 Aug 2019 17:50:36
Blu richarlison, Keane, Bernard and Iwobi can all play either 2 or 3 of the forward positions plus we've got Walcott, Bolasie and mirallas to fall back on.
Ok. Forget the last part but we should be ok.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 20:24:39
Smit your comment was going so well until you reassured fans by using the names Walcott, Bolasie and Mirrallas hahaha.

3.) 10 Aug 2019 23:37:14
It’s not the position gents . it’s the Left Footed part that I was highlighting and has been highlighted by MS and MB. i.e a Malcom type player who cuts in from the right. You are 100% correct in terms of positioning but we need a natural LF player imo! 👍💙.

02 Aug 2019 22:46:36
Hi Ed’s, bit of a fact finding and thoughts question this one. Do you thing the Prem Transfer window cut off will get reviewed? Reason I ask is that to me there seems to be a shift change in opinions before it came in to the benefits?

{Ed002's Note - Possibly. The stupidly thought everyone would follow their lead on this.}

28 Jul 2018 21:04:04
All, I’m going to ask this for a bit of fun - Whilst being rather pertinent at the present time. Can you give me names of x2 CB’s that we could ‘realistically’ bring into the club over the next 13-14 days. Ones with ‘Pace’ please too.

1.) 28 Jul 2018 21:08:36
Alfie Mawson is available and would, IMO, be an upgrade on what we have currently.

2.) 28 Jul 2018 21:23:16
Smalling and we already have a nifty enough CB in Holgate,

3.) 28 Jul 2018 22:31:43
Currently injured but Kurt Zouma?

4.) 29 Jul 2018 01:10:04
Decide if Mina is a definite by no later than Tuesday if not go all out for Lascelles or Mawson certainly not Gibson who is no better than Keane I. e. lacking in pace and mobility.

Same applies to Digny (apologies for spelling) , though I suspect he is a done deal if Robinson has been loaned out to Bolton, if not for the difference of £5m sign Tierney from Celtic.
Also definitely need a creative midfielder.

Thought that myself JB, surely (as good as I want Ellis Simms to become) we need a third striker with DCL and Rich? . Want MK to do well really do but . we can’t wait forever as the more time he takes to deliver the small amounts of price tag starts to arose away from what is clearly a ‘saleable’ asset. Don’t think we are near that stage yet but if it ain’t working then no point it persisting forever esp if the lad wants gone!

You make some good points Oscar as I think BM recruitment has been excellent however don’t forget that some of their talent have gone to BM as they are BM and not Everton. Dortmund did everything that they could to keep RL but he was always going to go to BM as he wanted to - we unfortunately don’t have that pull I mean far from it. I think a better comparison would be RB Leipzig who from conception in 2009 have gone from strength to strength including losing player after player. The success of RB is based on adopting a plan - notably by Ralph Rangnick has been stuck to even in the face of difficulties.

I would much rather be Everton than Liverpool. - that’s where the statement stops imo. 👏👏. To then explain it as reputation being in tatters? Our spending has been nothing short of a laughing stock, manager appointments a joke and displays on the pitch ill fitting for our loyal fan base. ‘They’ have had really bad signings too, but have also won countless trophies and had the pleasure of allowing their fans to travel and watch them in CL finals across Europe - please let’s not compare the x2. We must strive for the best. Let’s not make Excellent the enemy of perfection . But we are somewhat of Excellent at the moment!

The Same Moshiri who employed Koeman then Alerdyce then chased Silva like the second coming. The same man who allowed his money to be spent on Sigurdson, Tosun, Klassen, Sandro’s wages, Alex Iwobi 🙈. I hope your right Trueblue 🤞🏼.

Good point BP, he didn’t make any decisions that stood out for me but in all fairness he didn’t have to as we quite frankly where absolutely shocking, beyond belief. What I am puzzled about is the fact that again, out of all the prem league refs That they decided to appoint one with this concern ‘even if loose’ . Anyone else in your household with an allegiance to another club some could say is a conflict of interest, being from the region again. on the boarder line. Does any of this mean bias - Not one bit, but I tell you what if there was a ‘controversial’ decision given the it just adds pressure on the decision to award him the game and normally you would try steer clear. Interesting points all round 👍.
