Ed002 I appreciate this may be a bit of a vague question so shoot me down if you have no idea. But you've nentioned player sales would be needed to help towards ffp, do you gave any idea who we might be looking to, or happy to, sell? And is there any interest in any of them?!

ToffeeDavey

{Ed002's Note - Aside from the fringe players who do not have significant value, nope. Obviously there is money in the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Morgan Schneiderlin.}

1.) 19 Feb 2020 09:29:23
Happy for either or both of those to go tbh. Sigurdsson has just been too inconsistent since we bought him, the odd fantastic game then nothing for weeks.

2.) 19 Feb 2020 16:02:30
Cheers Ed. Yea agree gibbo. Not convinced we'd get much for either but at least something plus massive wages off the books! Sickening to think siggy schneiderlin Walcott and sandro costs us somewhere near half a million a week and none of them are good enough!

My best memory of Sig’s was that wonder goal against Leicester, I couldn’t get tickets in the away end so had to sit with the Leicester fans. I had to look annoyed when it rifled in. 😂.

I watched the whole thing and the professionalism from our club was wonderful the committee all congratulated the club on how amazing the presentation was and any queries raised were answered straight away and just before the vote a couple of the committee actually had a few things to say about the world heritage association and how they would be happy to leave the city derelict. We should be very proud of the club for what they have done.

2.) 23 Feb 2021 18:44:23
Very true, a very professional job. I can't understand how anyone in their right minds can agree with the world heritage association, who actually goes to see the site as it is now? The people objecting have probably never been close, or if they have not more than once.

3.) 23 Feb 2021 21:57:41
World heritage association are crazy for objecting and very short sighted.

We’re in an economic crisis as a country and they are worried about the infilling of the sick and its impact on heritage.

The stadium will generate much needed economic boost to the city, create jobs, support local businesses and allow new jobs and businesses to hopefully flourish.

What does the site currently bring to the city - nowt!

Well that was pretty bad - thought we were woeful all over the pitch both in terms of quality and workrate. James is clearly top class, but we need to work out a way of playing him that works for the team.
Out of our last 13 games he has been involved in 8.
The 5 games he didn't play in we took 15 points from (which included Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal) . The 8 games he did play in we have taken 6 points from.
I'm not trying to blame or scapegoat him - we all know how good he is and what he offers but Carlo needs to figure out how he can make it work with James in the starting lineup and needs to do it pretty quick if we want to stay in the battle for top 8 this season.

He is a brilliant player but more importantly a luxury and there is the reason he was out of favour at his other Club. Carlo is a wonderful coach/ manager but like others, perhaps allows sentiment to creep into his thinking. So here is an idea! How about employing the system and players that appears to be working away from home; at home. Without fans, Teams (except us apparently) do seem to be playing their best system home and away. Just a thought.

Ah yea West ham losing yesterday was a good result for us. I referenced the Leicester game in my response - I think we will be a lot closer to arsenal than we will to Leicester so I personally would not class that as a good result for us!

Agree that with our next couple of games we have a chance to move up the table - we have to take it. Not sure how results have gone our way though? Palace v Fulham is irrelevant to us, and think realistically we're going to be in more of a battle with arsenal for gable position that with Leicester.

Surely we have someone lined up?! It's been very clear that carlo doesn't want to play youngsters/ they're nowhere near good enough so essentially we have no attack minded subs if tosun and Bernard go. Yesterday was a good example of that. Utterly devoid of ideas going forward and the only attacking player on the bench, Gordon, remained on the bench for the entire match. Looking as though we'll only attract players through ancelottis name this summer because European qualification seems pretty unlikely. Does make you wonder about the ffp situation though because surely we won't be able to spend loads again and it's not like any of our unwanted players are particularly saleable.

Guernsey you're believing the papers that we're interested but telling others not to believe the papers with regard to whether he wants to come or not 🙈.

Yea get a new rb and the back 4 looks in great shape! Keane has been largely outstanding, so absolutely not trying to rush him off, but think Branthwaite looks a massive talent. Think it's exciting to think that him and Godfrey could be our centre back partnership in 2 or 3 years time and then for years to come!

Was thinking the same Woburn. If league is wrapped up and they're in champs league final surely they'll rest loads! Mind you, their bench isn't too shabby! Long way to go and lots of points to be picked up between now and then though for us to still be in the mix 🙏.

Think you need to re-read my posts. I have stated, very clearly, that he did well against Liverpool. But making a big save that was only required because of his own mistake for me is not him winning us the game - its him redeeming himself for his error and as a result not costing us the game.

How has he won us 6 points in the last 2 games? He did his job very well in the derby, as did the rest of the team. He had very little to do against Southampton and made 1 good save which he only needed to make as a result of his own error.

We'll have to agree to disagree on his performance in the saints game. He looked an accident waiting to happen to me, but credit where its due on the occasion when his mistake directly led to an easy chance he redeemed himself by keeping it out. He's already cost us a lot of points this season but as I say I do agree that he's a decent enough shot stopper so maybe if he suddenly develops the ability to dominate his box in a calm manner he will be a decent keeper!
