Board meeting happening now. Let's hope for a decisive response and the end of Rafas reign of terror before the night is out.
Give it to Big Dunc to instill some passion and some fire. It won't be pretty but it will be effective in enough games to save our status as a premiere league team. Gives the board lots of time to plan the next appointment and the next era of unity at the club. Also gives Wazza the chance to save Derby and put himself in the frame. Think we need somone who "gets" Everton.

Brownshoes

{Ed025's Note - please dont even mention rooney, i would want benitez before him..

1.) 15 Jan 2022 19:46:49
With you there Ed mate, don’t want Wayne, Wayne Sleep or even John Wayne but no Wayne Rooney.

{Ed0666's Note - Everton are definitely on the ‘Wayne’ tho

2.) 15 Jan 2022 19:55:22
Love it Ed.

3.) 15 Jan 2022 20:18:35
If Rafa goes, which seems likely it should be Thomas Frank, Graeme Potter, Ralph Hasenhüttl, one of those three, all doing excellent jobs. Not Rooney, not Lampard.

{Ed025's Note - im with you swinners..

4.) 15 Jan 2022 20:20:37
Not funny GB/ Ed.

5.) 15 Jan 2022 20:31:32
Potter for me Swinners mate.

6.) 15 Jan 2022 20:34:22
Seeing Martinez and Fonseca names being mentioned on tinternet.

7.) 15 Jan 2022 20:34:57
I honestly think this club is at rock bottom now. Knowing how ridiculous the owners are they will appoint Rooney. He shouldn't be anywhere near the job. Potter, brentford manager, ajax manager etc etc yes. Stick with Duncan for now.

8.) 15 Jan 2022 20:37:25
Would he swap Brighton for Everton at the moment?

{Ed002's Note - Because of the weather?}

9.) 15 Jan 2022 20:38:13
Hasenhüttl? You mean the guy that lost 9-0 in consecutive seasons? Not for me! I like Potter and Frank though.

10.) 15 Jan 2022 20:38:57
Cant see any of those managers being released till the summer.
Seams daft sacking him,3 days after selling 1 of our better players, should have gone before xmas. Will panic again and call big sam knowing our luck.

11.) 15 Jan 2022 20:40:43
Surely this is duncs time to shine. Why people think he's going to be a tony pulis is beyond me. He was made for this job. He is rated at the club. He is rated as a coach. He gets the blame for past managers decisions and tactics. Its mad. The man bleeds blue. Remember your big legend CA wanted to take him to Madrid! Sometimes the answer is right under your nose. Potter? A draw special-ist. He has no pressure at Brighton. He wouldn't last 2 mins in the hot seat. There's no other option available. Most of these "big name" managers wouldn't touch us with a barge pole. It would be career suicide for them. Dunc would relish the opportunity and you'd at least know for sure that he's a man who's going to bleed for us. What is up with people not wanting him? Youve had everyone now and they've all failed. Most of them didn't have us in their hearts at all! They came for money! that's it! Give him the job and we won't look back.

12.) 15 Jan 2022 21:05:22
Dunc till end of season. 1 pt a game average should do it. Then see if Martinez will come back.

13.) 15 Jan 2022 21:14:17
I said it a few weeks back and I'll say it again, bring back Roberto Martinez. He just wasn't ready when first with us, but i think he has turned into an outstanding Manager (or Head Coach? Still never understood the distinction) with Belgium. Yes he had some supreme talent but he still gave chances to many of the less fancied players and helped them shine. Would many managers really have the balls to bench Edin Hazard in favour of his younger brother? Defensively they weren't the best but when you have to rely on the aging Vertonghen because there are very few options then it's not entirely the fault of the guy in charge.
Martinez has improved without a doubt and would be a much better version of the guy we once put our faith in.

Oh, and please stop making excuses for Mykolenko guys. No more of this "he's young" "he's not played much lately" nonsense. Utterly woeful and that's being nice. Made to look extremely mediocre against Hull and Norwich, so Heaven help us against the many higher quality teams we face. The spot now needs to be taken by Godfrey who we know can do a job at LB/ LWB, allow Mina and Keane/ Branthwaite to get in a groove together and cut out the insistence that Rondon should consistently get in the team. Those very basic changes should be good enough to steer us away from relegation. Only then should we start uprooting the team to make new signings. Safety first at all costs!

14.) 15 Jan 2022 21:14:57
Pauly, I'd love to see him do well but if he was that good they would have given him the job already or he would have left and gone to manage elsewhere.

For me:

Jesse marsch - just left RBL after not been given a fair crack there, did well at salzburg.

Mark Warburton- beat us with QPR this season, plays decent football, takes no sh*te, managed rangers.

Lucien favre - done well at various clubs across Europe, linked to most top jobs.

Harry Potter- took 3 years but got Brighton playing well, even though they drawn loads, did inherit most of the players tho,

15.) 15 Jan 2022 21:19:39
Fk me! Are you for real ducks?

16.) 15 Jan 2022 22:04:59
Martinez nearly took us down with a top 8 side, imagine what he'd do with this lot.
No, no and no. Can't happen.

17.) 15 Jan 2022 22:06:58
i am 60 and been an evertonian all my life season ticket holder in same seat for the past 12 years after moving around the stands. I have to say all our supporters do is hound out manager after manager without giving them enough time but the same supporters still support and stay loyal to the cowardly persons that wear our shirt. Well i am done with this fuking club and our so called loyal supporters most of whom would not know loyalty if it bit them on the bollocks oh and by the way i would have more respect for some of them if they actually went to the fukin games. So if it is true and they sack another manager and put a fuking drunk in charge my season ticket will be back with them on monday and i will never watch them fukin cowards ever again.

18.) 15 Jan 2022 22:14:55
Whos the drunk? Surely not duncan? You absolute idiot! 6 points in 4 months and you want to see the end of the road? If its dunc you're talking about you need help.

19.) 15 Jan 2022 22:17:27
Sorry to tell you this thomo but our greatest ever manager was, what you would call, a drunk!

20.) 15 Jan 2022 22:35:34
I know that pauly and if the loyal supporters had their way kendall would have been sacked but in those days we had a board of directors with a set of bollocks and i suppose you are loyal to the crap that put on the shirt each week?

21.) 15 Jan 2022 23:00:41
No. I'm not loyal to crap. I'm loyal to a man who will sort out this bunch of crap because I know he has our interests at heart. Its never about the players at Everton football club. It will only ever be about the heart of the man who is called the manager. He ticks every box for me. You should wake up a little bit.

22.) 15 Jan 2022 23:10:22
Pauly Smitt we were 11th wgen the plane flew and Moshri stepped in. Got us 5th. Nobody come close since. As I said bring a good defensive coach with him and it would work. Mind you all pie in the sky as Moshri will ignore all in favour of these mysterious interfering advisors.

23.) 15 Jan 2022 23:13:31
Rather bad language for a 60 year old Alan but I think I get your drift.

24.) 15 Jan 2022 23:14:31
Keep the faith Alan.

25.) 16 Jan 2022 01:36:35
We need someone with experience, who knows the club and can work with a rubbish squad. Only one man if we can pry him away from West Ham. I will probably get slaughtered for saying it but is Moyes not a logical decision now?

{Ed0666's Note - Why would he come for a relegation battle when he’s challenging for a champions league position. lives in London and has a better caliber of player to choose from when it comes to transfers

26.) 16 Jan 2022 14:36:52
Why do we have to get soneone who "gets the club" it' s utter nonsense.
It has to be the best man who can do the job and there are none in this catagory I can think of "that get the club"
As for Martinez taking us down, we were 12th when Martinez was sacked with 1 game to go so we weren't going down so why sack him?
Moyes finished 17th his 2nd full season I don't remember too much screaming for him to be sacked, we gave him time, something todays Everton fans won't do, and things became better.

Soon it will be "did he sign on time" sweating here ?.

2.) 22 Aug 2022 10:18:09
Seems like the debate to close the windows before the 1st game should be revisited but this time fine with some common sense and agreed across all the euro leagues. But hey that'd be like too much joined up thinking, so they're definitely not going to do that.

{Ed001's Note - why does it need to shut before the first game? There were never any of these issues before the transfer windows arrived. Why not just go back to the old system? Then teams can stop stockpiling players in case of injury and smaller clubs can hold onto them for a bit longer and be more competitive.}

3.) 22 Aug 2022 10:30:34
Or that Ed no bother but either way I thinK we agree this setup is flawed.

{Ed001's Note - I can't stand the transfer windows, they favour only the richest clubs at the expense of the rest. So yes, I am with you.}

4.) 22 Aug 2022 11:47:49
What would Sky do if we had a sensible transfer process? I my mind it has also inflated player prices and player power which will come back to bite clubs eventually.

5.) 22 Aug 2022 12:16:02
Good call that Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - I just don't understand why all the small clubs fail to see how it weakens them because the big clubs have to have a huge squad to cover for injuries. If they could buy players throughout the season, they could run with a smaller squad and just buy when an injury occurs. Unfortunately they just want to whine about the bigger clubs being able to buy their players, when that is always going to happen, no matter when the window shuts.}

6.) 22 Aug 2022 13:50:47
Agreed Ed. Don't know why they couldn't return to a cut off of early spring for transfers.

Players who play well early season would still get the move to big club.

It's all to do with creating excitement on deadline day and Sky being able to increase ad slot costs on those days to make more money.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Sky.}

7.) 22 Aug 2022 15:11:59
Just so I am clear on the above. If we reverted back to the ‘old’ system, would this allow clubs with say 10 games to go in the season who were involved in say the title race or relegation to STILL be able to make signings and loans to each other? (Think it use to be a date in March the cut off) . It would only take one of the bigger clubs to tactically loan someone to a team who is playing there rivals in the run in for that system to blow up in everyone’s faces. Nothing is perfect I know but imagine the hysteria if that happened ?.

8.) 22 Aug 2022 15:14:43
It only weakens a team if it's done last minute of the window and they can't get a replacement. If you do away with the window altogether it means you can get a replacement.

It might also stop these players that can't get a move like what a lot of clubs have. We think its just us that can't move certain players on but there are dozens of them at all clubs. They can't get a move in the window and then there stuck at a club for 4 months gathering dust and by that time they aren't match fit and almost forgotten about.

13 Aug 2022 14:46:11
Let's be fair. Takes a while to change up the CBs in a team but if they can sort out their roles then lots of promise. Coady needs to be given green light to hit balls to the wings more and Onana! Wow this guy is going to be a monster, scary abilities and power. The game deserved to be a draw but that 1st half was ropey. Still patching positions with square pegs and all that but if we can get some pace up front and someone with an eye for goal. This start is just a slow blip. Need to start games with a mentality that we are there to score, attack and go for wins. Being reactive with a mountain to climb is going to kill us. We need 2 more signings before window shuts.

Brownshoes

1.) 13 Aug 2022 15:04:06
Yes, a poor performance but not an utter travesty like so many last season. The defence need time to gel and we all knew we were never going to get 90 minutes out of Rondon today, so saving him for the second half in favour of youth, creativity and energy was all we could put up front today. Didn't work, but highlighted the need for 2 strikers and a Gana Guaye. Onana looks the business. McNeil worryingly not so far, but it's early days.

2.) 13 Aug 2022 15:48:58
Rondon is no a prem player. Get rid now.

3.) 13 Aug 2022 15:53:50
Hope I'm proven wrong re mcneil but I think he's rubbish.

Massive results for us this weekend, it’s mad how easily things can change in a few days. Wednesday night things looked bleak, much more positive again now. I reckon Burnley will finish on 33/ 34 points so reckon we will need 7 more points, 2 wins, 1 draw from the last 8 games.

2.) 10 Apr 2022 17:12:09
I am working on the presumption of 9 pts.

3.) 10 Apr 2022 18:03:42
Looking at their fixtures and being rather kind to Burnley I could see them picking up 36 points so 9 should do it worst case. Here’s hoping! .

"American investors circling Everton" as FM looks for backers/ sale/ financial help.
Hope we stay up, get a new hierarchy in the boardroom and start to run this great club like a football club again and not a wallies toy thing.
Great performance today too, especially with the dreaded lunch time kick off, as we never perform well at the best of times. 5 or 6 fighting for MOTM too. Take a bow Delph and FL for using him where he was used for England, a screen for the defence, he's good at it.

Brownshoes

1.) 09 Apr 2022 18:56:21
Said about that yesterday abut US investors mate and got told it was nonsense, hope you get better luck.

2.) 09 Apr 2022 22:14:51
Oh right I see GB. I'm just repeating what was all over the sky and BBC paper round ups. Who knows? But surely FM has had enough by now of making himself public enemy and a massive tit to boot?

3.) 09 Apr 2022 23:37:32
Hope you are both right, sooner rid of moshiri the better as well as half the playing staff.
Glad for the win today but been here before all season. Cannot seem to follow up a win with a positive performance ie minimum a draw. If we lose to Leicester on Wednesday then we are right back in the rubbish again.

News nows gone mad. Spuds 50m offer on way. Chel up to 60m offer. And Coleman to start against Fleetwood. Its an odd assembly of headlines. Smirks aside that sounds like it's heating up for Gordon. We really probably want a mini bidding war and I'm sure Newcastle may get involved so who knows what deal will be struck. So long as we get 72 hours to spend it. Can't be left in a Lukaku last minute deal situation again as we're still feeling that co9k up. Also Gordon's going to want London right? And after deleting all Everton links from his social media (whatever that's meant to mean) Chelsea have 1 or 2 players we'd like in return right? They must be the final destination. T - minus 9 and its getting bonkers already. Going to seismic posters, proper evolution.

How old was RB when he left us? 23 24? a few England caps? Regular 1st teamer for what? 3 or 4 seasons? Occasionally wore the captains arm band when Baines went off. Gordon isn't even any of those things. He may well be but I don't rate him when I compare him to the lads in and around the England squad. Can't see him ever getting in the squad. He has so much to improve where as RB was only missing playing with elite players. That's partly why he didn't break in to CFC 1st 11 because they're so strong and talented and partly why its a shock he didn't become a mega star surrounded by all that international world class talent. The big pay day and bright lights of London were enough for him and his attitude stinks. Would Gordon be any different? I agree he's a bright future if he works hard but the money being spoken of is ridiculous. So ridiculous that he's surely going to be sold. I can't believe I'm saying this but for the 1st time I am 100% in agreement with Sourness. He gets to the ball fast enough but then falls over. He can't shoot can't pass and can't cross or take a free kick. He is getting a lot of attention because he can pass a man so long as he isn't breathed on. He has a really healthy spiteful streak and he's a local lad but that last point is blinding people who are desperate for him to succeed. He's a golden egg frankly and the 50m is too big a deal to turn down. That would improve our squad. I also agree with Chelsea fans who almost all don't want him. He'd never get on the pitch. He'd disappear into the wilderness and join the Everton conveyor belt to oblivion. He could very well have come out and distanced himself from the speculation he could have signed his new contract but he hasn't. He is like any young footballer, he wants the big pay day and he wants to win things. He definitely wants to go. He may well end up the best midfielder in the country but I don't see how.

You go to buy early in the window and pay top money, you go last minute and pay top money. What does that really mean? Players are sold for whatever the deal is. We can't be held over cash filled barrels for higher prices like the last 5 years as everyone knows 2 clubs tried to sue us for FFP possible breach. So I'm sorry but this is just some fan paradox. We will hopefully get that money for Gordo and already have our targets lined up. We won't be going out competing for 50m players all of a sudden. We will likely get a cheap or nominal throw in with someone like Bat's (like it or not, he's the one consistently linked and ed2 has repeated that all summer) last year of contract and clearly not going to play so they want rid. And then a possible Che Adams type or Diaz (my personal fav of the recent linked) and we will likely be looking at about 10 to 15m and we will still haggle to pay that over several seasons. If we do get 50m + then we may end up getting a surprise 3rd signing? I'm discounting Gueye here because I've a feeling he's going to come regardless, we're just playing Window chicken with PSG. Sounds like nobody else is in for him and they have the choice to get rid or keep a player who'll cost em a small fortune not to play. I think we've handled the window exactly how we had to. It's frustrating and unnerving obviously but that's our lot for the next 18 months. 2 strikers and 2 midfielders wod be just what the doctor ordered please! And if 2 of them are PXs from Gordon's deal and another is a cheap nominal for Gueye. That gets the next winter window into credit and gives us some breathing space with say 35 to 40m in the bank. We could be Leicester so it could be a worse window.
