Guess we all got the alert Iwobi confirmed.

A good signing, much more an Everton player than Zaha for me, pity we did not spend money on a centre back and a striker, the money is obviously there. Chasing Zaha was folley.

Arsenal agree fee for Pepe clears way for Zaha.

1.) 27 Jul 2019 16:59:29
I know it leaves path open for us but I just get the feeling he won't be signing for us as I think palace will won't 80 mil in money and won't be interested in any of players we are willing to give them.

2.) 27 Jul 2019 17:58:13
Hope we get him but there's always Chelsea.

3.) 27 Jul 2019 18:20:22
Agree David, i highly doubt they will accept McCarthy and Tosun as part ex for their star man, plus i'm not sure he is even interested to be honest, he would be a good player for us though.

4.) 27 Jul 2019 20:02:55
Dgold I would even throw in bolasie in the mix with McCarthy and tosun just to get bolasie wages of the book but I can't see palace excepting it as for zaha he has very few options know unless he waits a year to see if Chelsea come in for him which is dangerous as a lot can happen in a year. I just saw Marco say that we need 5 new players in before the start of the season to do better than last season it's going to be an interesting 12 days or an extremely frustrating 12 days.

5.) 27 Jul 2019 21:20:34
Can just imagine Zaha’s unveiling photo with him looking as horrified to have signed for us as Lennon did.

6.) 27 Jul 2019 22:00:46
Give them Sandro too!

7.) 27 Jul 2019 22:11:30
Good job were in talks with Kean as well.

8.) 27 Jul 2019 22:35:09
Pennysarn blue - Do you think he will get us 20 goals in any of the next 2 seasons? I think he’s one for the future but still think we need a top striker for 1-2 seasons Costa would be perfect Kean and DCL both learn so much from someone like him.

9.) 28 Jul 2019 04:28:28
Yeah think your right jaybo would love to see kean but he's very raw, would love to see him and an experienced player like manzukic or dzeko to work with kean and dcl and pass on that experience, doesn't fit into brands model but think it would be a very smart move especially for those young strikers development.

10.) 28 Jul 2019 06:39:38
I wouldn't worry about his age whatsoever. If you're good enough then you're old enough right?!

He may be raw but he's certainly showing signs of being a prolific scorer, roughly 1 in 2 at club level and 2 goals in 3 games at International. Of course you have to take into account who those goals were against but impressive nonetheless.

Also, let's not forget who he's had the luxury of training with, hopefully learning from, over the past year. A certain Mr. Ronaldo. What better player could you have as a teen to pick up some advice from on a regular basis.

Side note, i don't usually get involved in this social media bollox and consider it all a pile of useless nonsense. However for once something on there piqued my interest. Zaha just started following Moise on instagram. Possibly 2+2=5 scenario of course but you really do have to wonder why he would do that other than getting to know prospective teammate (Zaha making a big money move to Juve Eds? )

11.) 28 Jul 2019 08:01:43
Hi J, who do you think will get us 20 goals.? Costa won't get 20 games in 2 seasons the way he gets sent off mate.

12.) 28 Jul 2019 17:37:55
Zaha also posted t tweet saying “Ride the wave” couple of days before new stadium was seen 2+2=5.

Just seen new third kit. Maybe my eyes looks good but isn't it last years home kit. If we can't use the home kit we won't be able to wear it?

Cookie1978

1.) 23 Aug 2019 16:24:27
Never understood why you need a 3rd kit.
Stupid - purely just to ring out more money from fans.
England don’t have a 3rd kit.

2.) 23 Aug 2019 17:21:26
If you saw what we played in on first game you will know why we need one.

3.) 23 Aug 2019 17:25:43
No - we just need a 2nd kit that does not clash with our 2st kit.

4.) 23 Aug 2019 17:28:52
Just checked them out - nothing like each other how come we couldn’t wear our 2nd kit vs palace. Solid orange doesn't clash with palace blue and red stripes!

Seen Moyes doubts we should have bought Moses Kean. Guess if he was manager still we would have resigned Anichibe?

Cookie1978

1.) 13 Aug 2019 20:49:06
His track record with kids and how to handle them wasnt the best so I want be taking too much notice of him in respect of Kean.

2.) 13 Aug 2019 22:26:00
Or strikers for that matter!

3.) 13 Aug 2019 23:04:31
He’s probably worried that he will no longer be the Moise people associate with Everton.

4.) 14 Aug 2019 18:48:58
Moyes a far better manager than Silva and a very good judge of players bought well for us, very well.

5.) 14 Aug 2019 19:44:55
He bought well but not very well. There were plenty of poor buys along the way.

6.) 15 Aug 2019 13:06:50
There's an article in the echo, dated March of this year, which gives a brief summary of each of his 74 signings. Believe me, DC, although he bought some good players, there is far more on the list that would struggle to get in a lower league team today! I'd forgotten some of the names until looking at the article.

7.) 15 Aug 2019 17:53:32
I have to say going through the list Moyes bought some absolute gems for us who went on to become Everton legends Jagielka, Baines, Neville, Cahill, Stubbs, Arteta, Lescott, Howard, Coleman, Distin, Dier (but only for Tottenham) , Naismoth, Pienaar, Stones, Mustafi (for Arsenal)
but this is out of 74 players he signed

There were some failures in that 74 but some of that was caused by a low transfer budget, albeit as much as Kenwright could get for him.

As I said Silva and Brands have only had 3 windows so there is still time for them to make mistakes but any failures yet? Not that I can think of.

8.) 15 Aug 2019 17:56:10
24 out of 64 I would see as being good purchases. There was a lot (and I mean a lot) of dross bought under Moyes. Whether that was him or not, who can say but one only has to mention Per Koldrup, Niclas Alexandersson, Idan to name but a few to realise how bad it was.

9.) 15 Aug 2019 17:46:28
I have a lot of time for Moyes and it's difficult trying to compare managers from different periods. I'd of loved seeing what Moyes could have done with the Moshiri money back when he was manager but that was then and this is now.

I'm happy with the progress made under Silva (with the help from Brands on recruitment) and wouldn't swap him for Moyes at this point in our development.

DC it's very early days I know but tell me one bad signing from Silva/ Brands so far? The biggest doubt has been Mina but he has been hampered by injuries and played very well, albeit for one game, against Crystal Palace. Do you honestly believe the same of the Moyes signings? Some good ones certainly but also some failures wouldn't you say.

Moyes Signings

I know you want to criticise Silva at every opportunity but please help me to understand whether it's based on logic or just purely some deep seated antagonism towards him.

10.) 15 Aug 2019 20:06:12
It's difficult to compare. Moyse had a long time at the club but won nothing despite having the 5th biggest transfer budget for most of his managerial tenure.

I mean if we finish above 17th this season does that make Silva better than Moyes?

David Luiz to Arsenal. Guess that moves Zouma up the pecking order at Chelsea. Time to look elsewhere. See we have been sniffing around Smalling. Could be worse decent defender and sometimes leaving United improves players as less pressure.

Cookie1978

1.) 07 Aug 2019 17:47:55
He gets injured to easily.

2.) 07 Aug 2019 19:26:36
Plus he’s crap.

Fa said if we submit 25 players in squad they are unlikely to sanction amendments to squad after today. If we name 24 they will allow.

He can play centre forward like Richalisson. Would be comfortable if he is only attacking purchase. Do need a fast defender though.

Similar criticism was aimed at the ox when at Arsenal. Liverpool fans not complaining how that turned out.
