Real Madrid want DCL and prepared to pay 36million. Never seen so much b@$%&&$ as this week with everyone now realising we are real deal and a threat to CL monies. Think they might have the last digit off but no forgot Real are not cash rich at the moment.

Saw that myself, thought I had somehow hibernated through to April Fool’s Day!

Seen agreed fee agreed for Godfrey medical tomorrow. York City will also make couple million so will secure their future. Looks promising.

Hope so Cookie and I wish him well too mate.

05 Sep 2020 12:14:04
Heard that hold up on James is that Siggy doesn't want to give up number 10 shirt?

Cookie1978

1.) 05 Sep 2020 12:38:31
I’d rip it off his back and give it to him. How precious can you expect to be after the season he’s just had.

2.) 05 Sep 2020 12:53:51
Doubt that mate. It will be more to do with image rights etc etc.

3.) 05 Sep 2020 18:06:14
Sigurdsson apparently refused to be picked for Icelands home nations games to stay and fight for his place. Icelandic manager not impressed.

4.) 05 Sep 2020 18:13:58
Well he might as well have gone and played for Iceland.

5.) 05 Sep 2020 22:37:41
Way he played last season be lucky to get a job in Iceland, stacking shelves.

6.) 06 Sep 2020 00:19:41
Could you imagine it. Siggy to checkout one, 10mins later, Siggy to checkout one. I’m on my way!

7.) 06 Sep 2020 15:17:58
Everything will have defrosted by the time you’ve been served.

8.) 06 Sep 2020 20:45:31
Wouldn't trust him to make a brew. Sooner he's gone the better. I'll never forget the 1st time I watched him at goodison. lad in the row in front of me said '40 million doesn't get you much does it'since then he's progressively got worse. there's plenty at everton I would like to see sold but sigurdsson and pickford are in my top 2. don't think davies is good enough but i do think he gives it his all which is the minimum expectation.

9.) 07 Sep 2020 16:29:54
The reason James hasn’t signed yet is because he doesn’t want to let his lovely wage packet from Real Madrid go, holding on to it for as long as possible.

Just seen Rumour of Donnarouma in Pickford out! I know its bull but to even suggest!

With all the flack Pickford taken this week (wrongly) and Olson on bench I think the next month will make or break Jordan. I think if Marco o'silver was in charge he'd have no chance but hopefully Carlo will get him back to his best of 2017-18.

Cookie1978

1.) 20 Oct 2020 14:15:36
How has he wrongly taken flak? He seriously injured a player with an awful, awful challenge and was lucky not to break said players leg completely. He deserves every ounce of criticism.

2.) 20 Oct 2020 14:32:18
Seano, the truth is LFC fans want the guy horse whipped and his head served up on a platter left outside the Shankly Gates.

His name is Pickford not Bin laden!

This has gone too far now! you lot are embarrassing .

3.) 20 Oct 2020 14:52:51
Too right Blue. The book of condolence in the Red Echo was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.

4.) 20 Oct 2020 15:50:46
Will have red arrows doing fly pass, captain tom walking up his garden and the Thursday clap until he's fit again at this rate.

5.) 20 Oct 2020 15:53:08
This is the same team that’s had Diouf + Saurez - undoubtedly the most disgusting players ever in the PL.
Spitting, biting racists!
Speaking of spitting - Carragher

Get of the high horse LFC.

6.) 20 Oct 2020 16:28:31
Don't forget Sourness saying Pickford had assaulted VVD. Pots and kettles Sourness was an animal.

7.) 20 Oct 2020 18:54:50
Sean, so you think death threats are okay then? You won't find many on this forum that disagree with the view that it was an awful, reckless challenge. Did he mean to injure VVD? No, he didn't intentionally take your man out so some of the criticism and the threats are totally uncalled for. There's been far worse tackles in the derby over the years that didn't get as much attention. The bile needs to stop and some of your fans need to get a grip and get on with it, no amount of moaning is going to change the situation.

8.) 20 Oct 2020 20:44:11
Bad challenge. yes, Mistimed. yes
Malicious and worthy of death threats. No!
If you watch replays he’s watching the ball and then spots Van Dyke, split second hesitation continues his run realises he isn’t going to make it and clatters into VVD with some bizarre spread challenge that just goes all wrong!
I think VVD‘s challenge on Mertens was worse but that did get a yellow.

Just seen Walcott expected to start tomorrow and panicked. then realised not our problem this year.

10 years is enough let's right this wrong blues!

Cookie1978

1.) 16 Oct 2020 11:07:52
Far too long Cookie - I’d rather we gave it a go and lost than try and play out another 0-0 though.
Could be a cricket score with the 2 keepers.

2.) 16 Oct 2020 17:50:28
I would rather stop them scoring ( that always helps) give it a go and lose is the Brown Shoes Everton. Go into the game believing the hype ( who have we played? ) , we will get hammered.

3.) 16 Oct 2020 18:20:01
I'm with Bill. The difference this time is we have a squad full of match winners which we haven't always had. Keep it tight and its usually a bit of quality that wins these games.
There's only really Seamus and Keane from our starting 11 that have witnessed the horrible run we are on against them.
Doucoure and Allan have both been in teams that have beaten them.

Let's hope its our day.

4.) 16 Oct 2020 19:34:23
I must admit the pessimist evertoian in me feels tempted by the idea of a point. but there is a beam of light shining through the dark saying "hang on, let's see what happens" we're a different Everton just now, and a very wise man from Peckham once said " he who dares, wins". COME ON BLUE BOYS! N. S. N. O!

5.) 16 Oct 2020 20:45:59
Let’s keep up the good run going, goes tits up and we may just get our first appearance of the season of Dark clouds.

{Ed025's Note - there will certainly be dark clouds over our house bignev.. :)

6.) 16 Oct 2020 20:58:00
We Will Win have faith.

7.) 16 Oct 2020 21:01:36
I reckon go at them like Leeds and villa did and we’ll have a decent chance of getting the 3 points.
We’ve finally got a world class manager and a team of players who seem to be enjoying their football and actually working together as a team.

Stop being pessimistic.

You say who’ve we beaten, well so far all the team we have played:
Spurs - who have been great since and are now being touted as serious challengers this season (not convinced myself)
Brighton - who went toe to toe with Man U and only got done by a ridiculous VAR decision.
WBA - who drew with Chelsea
Crystal Palace - who beat Utd.

Admittedly apart from spurs none of the top teams but look at the form lines.

Come on fellow blues stop being pessimistic let’s enjoy this and hopefully get the result we all want.

8.) 16 Oct 2020 21:30:17
To just throw everything at Liverpool is suicide, it doesn't matter how far we have come, Liverpool are an excellent side. don't get me wrong, if we score a couple early the by all means go for it but they are a top side who will carve us to pieces. We are on a good run and a draw would keep us ahead of them, top of the league and still full of confidence.
A 4 goal hammering (which they are capable of handing out to anyone) would dent the bigger pla for us.

9.) 16 Oct 2020 22:17:02
Don’t think either Leeds or villa just threw everything at them. Surely we’ve got a better squad than Leeds and villa so if we play the way they did with a high press and a bit of man marking we could come away with a decent result.

Carlo a top manager and he’s hopefully got the nous to set us up with our best chance of getting a decent result.

10.) 17 Oct 2020 08:19:13
First time in many a year I actually have 'hopes' instead of 'fears' LFC are the PL champs. also they have a top manager and with or without recent results they are capable of beating anyone anywhere.

However we are now 'capable' of doing 'exactly' the same so chins up fellow Blues.

11.) 17 Oct 2020 09:02:27
I reckon if we score first, we will go on to win. If they score first, it’ll end in a draw. If no one scores, it’ll be a draw!

For the first time in years, I think we really have a chance of a win. Fingers crossed it goes well.

12.) 17 Oct 2020 14:12:28
The team is full of confidence so I'm not going to tell them to sit back and avoid a big loss

Go out there. Do your stuff and enjoy it. You can win this. It won't be easy - Liverpool are a good side but so are we this season

Arias has broken his leg badly in Colombia game last night after alledgly coming close to signing for Blues in summer. Maybe just Maybe it is our season. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Cookie1978

1.) 10 Oct 2020 10:41:33
Tell you what Cookie, having a bit of 'providence' is long overdue mate 🙂.

2.) 11 Oct 2020 12:47:38
But the butterfly effect would mean he wouldn't have broken his leg if he'd signed for us would he?

Most likely would have broken his neck or something worse.

06 Oct 2020 20:30:58
Just going from reported salaries and I think the players that have left so far were costing in region of £27-28m in wages per season (inc 1/ 2 of Walcott) . Bolasie and Besic could add 5million to this. The 6 new additions would add around £15million to cost but significant upgrade with reduced wages. Hopefully this goes someway Offset the net transfer cost which again was in the region of £75m very similar to past years but doesn't really help with FFP. Think its now or never for top 4 to sustain this level of investment.

Cookie1978

1.) 06 Oct 2020 21:04:14
Transfer costs for those players will be closer to 20million as the club will have amortised them over the contract length. No fee for James. Allan and Doucoure would be around 7 million each based on 3 year deals with Godfrey around 4 mill over the 5 years.

2.) 07 Oct 2020 08:32:08
There would also be additional hit to ffp though from players like Schneids and Sandro who left for knock down prices, I believe. But this would be more than off set by getting the wages of the books at least.

3.) 07 Oct 2020 21:15:47
Its a bit tricky to fathom because schneiderlins transfer was before June 30th so will report in last years books but Sandros will be in this years.
Last summer we had the sales of Gana, Lookman, Onyekuru and Vlasic which was around 60 million in total I think. Similar to what we have paid for Doucoure, Godfrey Allan, James and Nkounkou. Although these will be Amortised through the contract I would guess.

Bet we would win the league with him in goal now even at his age. Saw him at Torquay at the very end of his career and still had it. Top 10 goalkeeper of all time (Southall not Pickford! )

Champions League qualification will help as well as prize money with being Champions, plus the money from both Wembley finals. Might have spare money left over to pay for Messi next year!
