this guy's name has popped up a few times today Elye Wahi plays for Montpellier he's 19 years old and has 7 goals in 15 games any eds shine any light on this rumour TIA.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed002's Note - Elye Wahl (LW/RW/S) Young Montpelier forward who is having a very good season but is perhaps not ready to step up to the Pfremier League but there has been interest from the Championship and QPR. Crystal Palace and Everton have sent scouts to watch him at the behest of Mendes.}

1.) 02 Jan 2023 07:51:01
Cheers ED02 the positions he plays fits what we are looking for and he's at the correct age young with the possibility of a larger resale value one to keep an eye on I think.

2.) 02 Jan 2023 12:12:37
Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
Player could be amazing, however when Mendes is requesting scouts to watch him when he’s a player of Mendes own agency sounds a little off and sure there’s something in it for Mendes if he gets a move.

{Ed002's Note - You clearly don't understand.}

3.) 02 Jan 2023 12:21:47
Gingerdan isn't that an agent's job get clubs to watch and scout their players to secure moves to better payed jobs while at the same time earning a living for himself.

4.) 02 Jan 2023 13:12:07
It was the use of the word “behest” that made me think it wasn’t a great idea. Probably read too much into that word which believe means order or command.
Don’t like to think of agents ordering or commanding teams to view players.
Agents suggesting or recommending viewing one of their clients sounds fine.
As I’ve said probably read too much into the word behest - apologies.

{Ed002's Note - It means request and Everton would not know about a lot of players if they did not speak with agents.}

5.) 02 Jan 2023 14:28:20
Do we not use scouts anymore then?

{Ed002's Note - The club and the scouts talk to agents.}

6.) 02 Jan 2023 14:29:23
Gingerdan I would be more concerned If it was Kia Jacobson ??? as we then wouldn't watch them just buy them.

7.) 02 Jan 2023 17:40:42
Based on some of our recruitments of late brassington, I don’t think we have scouts, just Doris reading the tea leaves….

8.) 02 Jan 2023 18:36:25
That’s why I asked BR. Thought they were supposed to go out and find the talent. If all you have to do is ring up an agent then I might apply?.

{Ed002's Note - Clearly you do t get it either.}

9.) 02 Jan 2023 20:13:54
Based on what we’ve bought neither do the scouts.

10.) 03 Jan 2023 12:10:01
Reckon they watched BT Sports last week. Done a couple good things so what the heck splash some money on him He will do.

27 Dec 2022 18:08:10
According to football insider we are close to announcing a 10 year naming rights deal worth 150 million pound now if true that sounds really cheap 1.5 mill a year but it's Everton so wouldn't suprise me.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed025's Note - can we have the cash up front and buy someone who knows where the back of the net is?..

1.) 27 Dec 2022 18:17:07
Meant 15 mill a year ha ha that would help ED25 unfortunately I don't think the guys at the top could be trusted to spend it wisely.

2.) 27 Dec 2022 20:26:46
15mill a year for where we are is an amazing deal. We’re a bottom half team flirting with relegation. Also from what I’ve read without investment like that we’d be in the rubbish with the stadium costs.

3.) 27 Dec 2022 22:48:37
Ed, if we had Haaiand he would never score, simply because we have no creative players and wingers who very really take on the fullback and send over dangerous crosses to attack.
Add to that we take an age to launch any form of attack, which makes us so easy to defend against.
I would seriously think again before we award lucrative long terms contracts to both Gordon and Iwobi.
Frank and his extensive and expensive coaching and background staff need to take a hard look at themselves. Six weeks of working on playing tactics to improve and despite the comments on addressing the issues, first game back against bottom of the table opposition, who have only scored 8 goals all season, normal service resumes.
Frank and the likes of Ashley Cole, who have played at the highest level, should see how the game is trending and ring the changes in tactics and substitutions to keep us competitive, but it’s not happening. Sending Cannon on with 7 minutes to go is ridiculous. How can he expect the youngster to even get the pace of the game let alone make an impact.
I appreciate Gordon squandered two golden opportunities, but he has been poor all season and both his and Gray’s performances have gone dramatically backwards. Add to that McNeill and. Maupay lack a yard of. pace means we offer no real threat upfront.
We are now in a precarious situation. Which decent player in his right mind would want to join a struggling club? Are we about to buy in desperation mediocre players? We need an injection of skill and pace in the team post haste and the willingness to give game time to Price, Cannon and Mills, who let’s be honest cannot do any worse than the present incumbents.
Frank, who has got to take responsibility for the teams lack of performance, has made it extremely difficult time for the Board.

{Ed025's Note - great post fancy and i agree with all of that mate, may i just add that ellis simm is terrorizing defences in the championship and we are playing maupay, i know our service is terrible but could he do any worse?..

4.) 28 Dec 2022 08:32:15
I disagree in a way Sir_Loin bud as they are not just sponsoring a football club. we want concerts to be held and the site will be open 365 days a year with cafes ect open add in its on the banks of the royal blue mersey so will be the first thing tourists see when the ships sail into Liverpool so will get massive coverage. I don't think we are on par with city's 40 mill a year and I think spurs will get even more than that due to the NFL and it's in London but I genuinely believe it's worth more than 15 mill a season.

5.) 28 Dec 2022 08:56:29
Lamps, I know it’s the premier league and all that but just to point out that Bayern get around the 5million mark a year for the Allianz. That’s 5million for a CL regular and the largest tourist destination in Bavaria!
Apples and Pears and all that but for a club not in the capital, 2nd fiddle in its own City (For the majority of neutral fans around the world outside Merseyside) , it’s probably not that bad a deal ATM.
Think we missed a trick with the NFL / Transferable pitch but won’t lose and sleep on that!

6.) 28 Dec 2022 09:14:29
Fair points Blu1 the only counter argument I can come up with is the size of the prem compared to Germany so has a much higher audience reach. I do agree with you maybe I'm just so used to the club being so poor when it comes to sponsorship deals just look at the fanatics deal with DBB banging on they have agreed to open a store at the new stadium ?‍♂️ why are we not opening our own store we are so poorly run I'm prob looking for the downside more than the upside.

7.) 28 Dec 2022 11:17:47
All things considered, sounds like a decent deal to me. With that and the increase in revenue from home games, it’ll improve our spending power against FFP. Of course, if we’re in the championship next season, that all goes out of the window!

8.) 28 Dec 2022 12:09:25
JBtoffee it would just be another kick in the balls look throughout history we won the league World war 1 started then we won the league 2nd World war started we then look to have a team that can dominate and we get banned from Europe now we look like getting a new stadium which means we spend more and try to compete and we will prob get relegated and the stadium won't get completed ?? I have to laugh or I would cry.

9.) 28 Dec 2022 13:17:05
As hard as it is, the squad’ll need our support.
Plenty of big teams have found themselves in worse positions over the years: Forest, Leeds, Derby, Shef Weds etc.

{Ed025's Note - I agree to a certain extent JB but it’s hard to support such an abject bunch as we have in our side at present mate..

10.) 28 Dec 2022 13:21:26
They simply can't afford for the stadium not to be completed. Otherwise they would have to return it to as it was, and that would cost a ridiculous amount of money.
The only priority the club should have right now is staying in the Prem. Lose that you lose the finances that go with it, and then at best you become a yo yo team which is not sustainable for a club this size.

11.) 28 Dec 2022 15:04:27
Yes, I know what you mean Ed. I also know I’ll moan and groan, but still watch, and still hope, beyond all evidence to the contrary, that we can improve and stay up. Lacking character as much as anything. Moyse’s teams didn’t have the most quality, but you always knew they’d put a shift and a foot in.

{Ed025's Note - I have turned into a serial moaner as well JB. That’s what this club does to you mate..

12.) 28 Dec 2022 16:36:24
Is it possible to get Simms back from his loan? I thought bring players back was next to impossible.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know the terms of the loan chris but if it is a season long loan deal ...then he is there for the season, shame we even let him go there imo with our options up front mate..

13.) 28 Dec 2022 17:09:02
I know it is ed. Just like letting both our cover LBs go out last season. At this rate I'd start mina up front over Maupay. I'd like to see cannon get some starts but not sure if it's a good idea to do that with him being so young. Maupay offers nothing.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid NM is not even an upgrade on rondon chris..

26 Dec 2022 11:27:05
Anthony Elanga from utd according to the athletic.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 26 Dec 2022 13:54:48
Yep saw that mate.

2.) 26 Dec 2022 19:42:19
Isn’t he another winger?

3.) 26 Dec 2022 21:10:10
Woburn what do you mean another winger?
From what I’ve seen we haven't got any so a winger would be a welcome addition.

4.) 27 Dec 2022 01:59:44
Dan it’s hardly the position that needs most attention. And I think that’s what Woburn is getting at mate.

5.) 27 Dec 2022 09:13:27
I think we need a winger a striker and a creative midfielder get 2 of those 3 positions filled and we might just stay up otherwise we are getting relegated.

6.) 27 Dec 2022 12:04:26
We need two strikers (because ones bound to get injured) , and a creative midfielder much more than we need another bloody winger.

7.) 27 Dec 2022 15:45:59
totally agree ltm i honestly think we could get relagated after waiting for nearly 2 months for everton to play and i go match yesterday was really annoyed and frustrated just side way passes players getting knocked off the ball to easily sitters loosing the ball and yet he brings maupay off in the 80th minute should of been taking off at half time some people moan you can't give the kids a chance cause we are in a relegation battle sorry but you can they will give it there all what's the point in are academy seriously you never know how good they are until they get giving the chance not buying some fans that say that 33 years old i am i havnt seen us win anything no passion no desire no fighting for the ball we ****ed up only team to spend 500 million and go backwards i love my club really do but christ watching us is hard at times.

05 Dec 2022 12:05:48
Any of the Eds know who we are looking at in January and who would fans like to see.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect too much in January particularly given the financial mess. But Frank Lampard does want Coady to sign a permanent deal. He would also like Daniel Podence and Mohammed Kudusbut that seems unlikely right now.}

1.) 05 Dec 2022 16:42:37
Such a shame we couldn’t get the Kudus deal over the line in August. Looks a talent and is likely to be even more out of our price range now. Hopefully it suggests that the scouts will have some other similar targets in mind. Can’t imagine Podence would be cheap either.

2.) 05 Dec 2022 22:01:43
Cheers ED02 I read that Coady couldn't sign permanently until the summer and I really hope we can get a couple of forward players in otherwise staying up will be a real struggle.

3.) 06 Dec 2022 14:36:11
Agree JB, think the lad would definitely have been an upgrade on what we have.

4.) 06 Dec 2022 21:46:28
For me Gray has everything a top professional needs but is far too inconsistent and Gordon needs a good talking too as all the transfer talk seems to have gone to his head and he's JB what a shame we couldn't get that over the line as we have no chance especially with our league placing my only saving grace is Thelwell and Lampard have done well in the market so far so hopefully they pull a rabbit.

5.) 07 Dec 2022 19:57:00
I would like to see us sign a few release forms ?.

6.) 22 Dec 2022 14:21:21
Gray has everything a top professional needs? The only thing he has is pace but he doesn't know how to use it and runs into blind allies constantly. He is physically weak and can't look after the ball. He cannot track back and defend. He cannot finish - Yes he has scored a few nice looking goals but the amount of easy chances he fluffs in between is ridiculous. He does not possess a footballing brain imo and always looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

Perhaps the most telling thing for me is his attitude. His body language on the pitch when he doesn't get the ball when HE thinks he should get it is embarrassing. He sulks his arse off and it has been apparent for a long while now.

Its not like we can even fall back on his output in terms of numbers. A player in todays wide attacking position that gets 1 goal in 10 games is nowhere near good enough if we ever want to be rubbing shoulders with the european placed teams.

08 Nov 2022 11:16:24
Any of the Eds know who we are targeting in Jan.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed002's Note - I understand a RW is the priority for January and Daniel Podence is seen as the preferred option, but there are others.}

1.) 08 Nov 2022 14:33:07
Cheers ED02 if we could pull that off then I would be over the moon.

2.) 08 Nov 2022 18:11:43
Final pieces of the jigsaw mate.

3.) 08 Nov 2022 19:09:07
Ha ha.

4.) 08 Nov 2022 19:25:58
One piece GB, we are still missing the other 6 ??? oh ok throw lampard in the mix too ??.

5.) 08 Nov 2022 20:59:36
How many “pieces” do you think we need Guernsey?

Personally don’t see Gordon or DCL being part of our solution unfortunately - Gordon little end product and too many yellow cards, DCL too injury prone.

I reckon we need atleast 3 new players.
Right winger, attacking midfielder and a striker.

6.) 08 Nov 2022 21:08:11
Final piece of the jigsaw or first piece of the jigsaw GB?! ??.

7.) 08 Nov 2022 21:29:18
If we get creativity in midfield and a forward, we would be some way to having a half decent team.

8.) 08 Nov 2022 21:31:56
First piece of the championship jigsaw based on tonight. Podence is garbage possibly even worse than McNeil. I would rather we play mills than go and sign another poor wolves player. Good to see our director of football using his contacts to sign players not good enough for wolves! Sure fire way to get relegated.

9.) 09 Nov 2022 08:56:03
Guernsey, are you here all week ? because that was a gem.

25 Jan 2023 20:33:27
So Anthony Gordon has asked to leave well don't let the door slam on your way out. I mean considering he couldn't get a game for Preston 18 months ago then has a great 10 games he seems to think he's a superstar asking for ridiculous things in his contract to obviously not trying during games and then asking Lampard to leave him at home last weekend as he didn't want to risk injury and jepordise a potential move away he's everything that's wrong with modern young footballers.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 25 Jan 2023 21:04:03
He's definitely got potential but every time he comes on he frightens the life out of me he's a red card waiting to happen he's like a lose cannon.

2.) 25 Jan 2023 21:13:40
Lamps, Shakey I tend to agree with you in terms of hype etc…. But ‘IF’ it’s true, I’m just concerned that his message that everytime a half decent ‘one of our own’ player comes along they get off?, why is that? Are all of them greedy? Can you remember the last one that didn’t leave and stayed with us?

{Ed025's Note - tom davies?

3.) 25 Jan 2023 21:16:40
He's basically a lower quality version of Barkley.

4.) 25 Jan 2023 21:56:13
They get offord big money and think their better than they are. You would think Barkley would be an example to these boys. But then again Barkley has made loads of money, and maybe he feels that's good enough.

5.) 25 Jan 2023 22:14:18
Sorry Ed, I said half decent ?
I’d be made up of Tom Davies was half decent ?.

22 Jan 2023 07:25:50
My view is that this team is better than it's showing and as much a I wanted it to work out for Frank Lampard he's not getting the best out of this team.
Yesterday chasing the game he brought two midfielders on but didn't use Simms Maupay or Gordon which I found strange especially with them sitting back and wanting to hit us on the break 1 goal and they could of buckled so unfortunately it's time to wish Frank well for the future and bring in a new manager who will get a tune out of these players.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 22 Jan 2023 08:47:31
I reluctantly agree Lamps, because I was also hoping Frank would do well. But results don’t lie mate.

2.) 22 Jan 2023 08:50:35
Lamps, It's as though he just wants to play around with the ball and that is it, as for scoring well that must be a bonus or something?

3.) 22 Jan 2023 08:53:01
The only one that will come and should stay even if (when because honestly where are we getting 23/ 5 points from) we go down is Dyche. People don't get the good setup he built at Burnley.

{Ed025's Note - and on a shoestring DFS, the only answer for me..

4.) 22 Jan 2023 08:59:26
How was your Greek mate! Mrs didn't shove the sheftika where the Sun don't shine I hope.

{Ed025's Note - it was everton that done that DFS..

5.) 22 Jan 2023 09:03:33
DFS I did mate, the job he did there was an example of how to really manage a football club from top to bottom.

6.) 22 Jan 2023 09:19:04
He has a strong personality as well. One of he and Moshri will have to give a little but I honestly think Dyche could do it.

7.) 22 Jan 2023 10:39:43
Lampardstheman, I thought the very same thing, we are 2-0 down and so need goals and no attackers came on. I’ve supported Lampard but he seems to have given up. I’m not the biggest fan of Gordon but if the club being mentioned are interested in him why isn’t he doing it at Everton.

Another thought is the club seem to want to offload Keane and Holgate. If and when they go where is cover for Coady and Tarkowski if they get injured as Godfrey and Mina are both injury prone. A right mess behind the scenes and perhaps the DOF is not the right man.

17 Jan 2023 16:01:37
Good to see Ian Wright apologies to the fans after having a dig on MOTD it takes a lot for someone to admit they were wrong and he is dead on the money saying that it's over between the fans and the board.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 17 Jan 2023 17:26:47
Was it all made up? I don't quite understand it all.

2.) 17 Jan 2023 17:37:15
He queried why it was never reported to the police. And given everyone these days has a phone and therefore a camera, why it was not all over social media.

3.) 17 Jan 2023 18:57:52
Bills probably making the film as we speak.

16 Jan 2023 19:53:48
So it looks like Lampard isn't getting sacked so we might as well get ourselves ready for Relegation to the championship this board have killed our club.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 16 Jan 2023 20:09:22
Frank is fireproof, he has the chairman's blessing Lamps ?.

2.) 16 Jan 2023 20:10:01
Not that I think this is possible (lest I be the last man of sanity in the world) , but could a club owner believe that relegation is a desirable goal?

My premise that running a club so poorly has got to be almost purposeful. Or is Mosh and BK that bad?

Is there some perverse way between PL parachute payments, contract cancellations, salary reductions, and the off loading of all players of worth (Yes we have some) under the guise of relegation, that relegation makes financial sense (to someone upstairs and not the fans and fellow Blues) ?

Again, grasping at straws here….

{Ed025's Note - i get your drift 770 but relegation will wipe £100,s of millions off the clubs shares and even the parachute payments will not compensate for the tv revenue and sponsorships we will lose mate, its a nightmare scenario..

3.) 16 Jan 2023 21:08:12
Once we move will we still own Goodison? Would be one hell of an insurance claim for a fire.

4.) 16 Jan 2023 21:10:34
I agree, but maybe BK bought accidental relegation insurance.

04 Jan 2023 00:04:04
Where do we go from here as I have no idea.

Lamprdstheman

1.) 04 Jan 2023 22:04:17
Most likely the championship mate.

ED25 regarding Gueye if he's played as a number 6 which for me would be protecting the defence and to claim the ball from the defender and GK then play it straight away he will be fine it's the issue of carrying the ball then passing it something he's never been able to do but seems to be asked to do just that by the manager.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed025's Note - i think the last thing we need is another midfielder playing as a defender lamps, our problem is going forward and if the defenders just do their job idrissa can get on with what hes supposed to be doing which is moving the ball forward mate..

I don't wish him good luck I hope he fails big time he's a local lad who has downed tools because he didn't get a move to Chelsea and is now jumping ship and I'm fed up of people blaming the board ect for him leaving no he's leaving because he thinks he's bigger and better than he is.

Lamprdstheman

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what move to Chelsea you are referring to but you are clearly one of the toxic fans intent on destroying the club.}

STB if we go down we are gone for good we will have a firesale of our players being sold for a lot less then they are worth and you do realise the EFL are a lot more strict than the prem when it comes to profit and sustainability rules so we could possibly be screwed by that. It baffles me when fans say going down could be a good thing ?‍♂️.

Sorry bud I disagree sacking Frank now will help and gives us our best chance of staying up.

Ask Tuchal and Poch they will probably say no but your no worse off for asking them then go get Sean Dyche it won't be pretty but he won't take no rubbish and he won't allow players to hide and IMO he's our best chance of staying up he will play direct football and make us horrible to play against.

Alanthomo who else do you think will want this job Dyche will at least give us a way of playing with direct football and gives us our best chance of staying up unless you want to keep Frank and see how quickly he gets us relegated.
