Think Carlo is going to find like every Manager before him at Everton. With Transfers you don't get the player you want, you get the player you are given. Difference is with Carlo, Everton don't have the lee way to hum and hah, he will just walk.

{Ed002's Note - It will be much better now. He wants and will get Ivanovich to give experience - but at 36 it will only be in the short term.}

1.) 05 Aug 2020 13:45:21
I like that reply from Ed - sounds more positive than usual, hoping that’s because the third party advisors are long gone and brands and Carlo working together.

Ivanovic for experience on a short term deal sounds ok. Just hope it’s not because we’ve missed out on Gabriel.

Be interesting to see how the window progresses for us.

Probably 90% of the players we are being linked with are not even on our radar just click bait or stories to try and spur other interested teams in to bidding.

Brands I believe had already come out and said probably only 2-3 signings this window - let’s hope they are good ones.

Majority of his work this window will be continuing to move players on.

{Ed002's Note - Brands and Ancelotti have better control but have to work within a budget.}

2.) 05 Aug 2020 14:07:31
Cheers Ed. Good to hear they have better control.

Whilst it’s frustrating as a fan to hear the word budget as most fans would love their team to go out and spend x amount to buy the player they think will make the difference. £35mil Allan, £25mil Gabriel, £50mil Edouard, etc.

It’s totally understandable that those days are gone for us.
We’re a mid table team at best at the moment with no European football income.

We have to spend within our means and make sure we start making the right decisions in the transfer market.

We’ve been crazy in the market before and we are running the risk of breaching FFP.

Hopefully we can strike a good balance this window of moving some players on and replacing wisely.

There’s also a moral issue as the C.V. C.V. has also severely affected incomes - not just football clubs but those of the fans.

I’m not sure how I’d feel seeing the team spend £40mil on a player then pay him £100k+ per week when there are probably 1000’s of fans out there who have lost probably lost their jobs because of the C.V. But will still spend what money they have on supporting the team.

Will be interesting to see if the C.V. puts transfer fees and wages in to any perspective.

{Ed002's Note - Many clubs are in serious financial trouble and many (e.g. Barcelona) are looking for players to take wage cuts.}

3.) 05 Aug 2020 14:10:07
Carlo coming to the Club has been a huge positive. Thanks for the reply Ed002.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 15:33:47
Thanks for the reply Ed.
On the Barcelona financial issues - I imagine they are still keen to move Tobido on, I remember we were previously linked to him but was reported we weren’t keen on the deal offered (possible buy back clause) do we still hold an interest or has that now gone?

{Ed002's Note - Jean-Clair Todibo is still an option for Everton. Jean-Clair Todibo (CB) will be sold with a buy-back clause and €25M - plenty of interest but Barcelona do not see him as good enough - was available in January and is being offered around to clubs including Everton who may well look to push for him, Manchester United and Inter. Milan have had talks but concerns over injuries saw a lower bid made and rejected. General interest from RBL (gone), Rennes Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton but no discussions. His agent has offered him to Napoli as a Kalidou Koulibaly replacement but they have their mind set on another. Roma are being messed around over another player and have turned to declare an interest in J-CT but it looks like that issue will be resolved - so they will drop interest.}

5.) 05 Aug 2020 16:46:03
Thanks for the reply.
Will be interesting to see how our recruitment pans out over this window.

01 Dec 2019 22:00:07
Ed002 a call out. Benitez a possibility?

{Ed002's Note - He won’t want to be the assistant to Moyes BCT.}

1.) 01 Dec 2019 22:22:09
Whoa moyes coming.

2.) 01 Dec 2019 22:24:01
Do I know you Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously I cannot answer that.}

3.) 02 Dec 2019 00:32:53
Please, let it be benitez.

4.) 02 Dec 2019 15:39:19
alrite everyone first time blue on here i thought we played well yesterday okay we lost in the end like but just think its time for silva to go with derby coming up this wednesday its not ideal i would like see eddy howe get job with big dunc as his number 2 but just my opinion or maybe rafa Benítez he can go back basics sort defence out none this zonal marking that seen in last few weeks but again just my opinion.

{Ed025's Note - welcome to the madhouse andy..

5.) 02 Dec 2019 16:42:45
(ed025) who would you want as next manager that you think could do good job at goodison with current players there.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think im the person to ask andy, i have been happy with our choices previously only to get bitten on the arse every time mate, i can tell you who i dont want though...moyes, hughes, allardyce or howe, we need a serial winner who will shake things up imo..

6.) 02 Dec 2019 17:46:10
fair enough ed just thought with eddy howe doing good job at bournemouth and also being a blue aswell he might know club bit more and maybe give us some stability that he has done for bournemouth aswell but thanks for reply ed.

{Ed001's Note - Howe is someone that suffers from the exact same issues as Martinez and Silva - can't organise a defence.}

7.) 02 Dec 2019 21:20:19
So you’re saying he fits the profile?

8.) 02 Dec 2019 22:29:06
What’s people’s thoughts on bielsa from Leeds?

31 Jul 2017 17:18:42
Everton ready 'huge' third offer for Sigurdson. 'Player plus 45 Mill' is the rumour. If they are serious and a third offer would indicate they are, then why haven't they offered the 50 Mill, Swansea can then take it or leave it and we can all move on.

1.) 31 Jul 2017 17:40:42
I've heard the same, but that this is an agreed approach between the two clubs. fingers crossed this one gets over the line and then we can focus on bringing some speed to work alongside that quality.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 18:50:25
Ed any news of this.

{Ed025's Note - i know nothing about this rich mate..

28 Dec 2016 19:52:25
van dyke must be worth 60 mill after that start against spuds.

1.) 28 Dec 2016 20:25:35
Just gone down by 20 million, he lost out on a header by Ali who scored!

2.) 28 Dec 2016 21:23:59
yep noticed and was just about to post but you beat me to it. Funny how the commentators missed what was obvious to us.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 11:41:41
Well after that result surely we should get him on a free now. 😀.

03 Dec 2016 21:37:24
The scale of Koeman's job is becoming more and more apparent every week now. Catch22 without the players we cannot progress and we cannot progress unless we can attract the players and to attract the players we need to be at least top 6.

Ergo as much as we want things to happen in the January window, nobody of quality will come unless we:
A) Pay over the odds

B) Pay wages over the odds

1.) 03 Dec 2016 23:03:31
It does seem that is likely to be the case until we establish our credentials!

2.) 03 Dec 2016 23:25:27
Get the chequebook out farhad.

3.) 04 Dec 2016 18:40:38
Have to agree there is no quick fix to oour problems but let's see more youngsters given a go. Holgate was excellent today and Davies deserves a chance.

Having said in earlier posts that this time above every other we really do need patience. Things are coming together but we are just starting to walk again. DCL and the Rodrigues can push us to a Europe place, case in point. We have had one game, against a Spurs side that did get behind us and did have chances. They are also a ball playing side. We need to see how we go against the gritty and pressure sides. Just saying!

19 Aug 2020 11:05:16
What is it with our Club. Martinez not good enough fired becomes successful Belgium Manager. Koeman fired, Netherlands and now Barcelona Manager. Ancelotti! let's break the mold. How are transfers going Bill?

1.) 19 Aug 2020 11:32:09
We've hit the jackpot with Carlo mate, give him a few Windows to sort out the mess on the field, no quick job.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 11:32:09

3.) 19 Aug 2020 12:49:02
It’s not a quick fix. Tricky transfer market to operate in. If we keep Digne, Richy, CL, Holgate, add 2 or 3 players of proven quality, this will support blooding of youngsters. Fingers crossed for Dacoure- exactly what we need. Important to get behind Carlo and the lads. Feel confident we’re moving in the right direction.

4.) 19 Aug 2020 13:09:59
Exactly JB mate, I see Wolves are going to bid for Dacoure as well.

5.) 19 Aug 2020 13:40:24
If they’re successful then look no further than the talent they have available. To answer your question “what is it with our club? ” Look no further than the squad. It’s lacking in too many areas.

6.) 19 Aug 2020 15:06:55
What's Martinez won with Belgium? What's Koeman won with Holland? What is it with these managers that leave our club then get a job with better players?
I echo what TA says, you can't compare our club squad to that of top international sides, silly comparison mate!

7.) 22 Aug 2020 10:31:00
Martinez couldn't organise, Koeman had no identity and couldn't relate to the players. He got the Neth job off his name and playing rep, God knows how Martinez ended up with KDB and Hazard!?!

19 Aug 2020 10:49:06

1.) 19 Aug 2020 11:39:32
Have I missed something, what have Belgium won with Martinez?
Koeman with Netherlands? Why don’t we just see how long he lasts at Barcelona before we laud him for it.
Fact is they were poor for our club, maybe that’s why they went into international management.
And why the dig at Bill? I doubt he has any say in who we buy or sell anymore.
Can I suggest we look to the future, and leave the past where it belongs. It’s time to look forward not back.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 16:42:29
Amen to that Woburn, we moan about the negativity in the players the play the transfers the way the club is run!
Why don’t we cut our negativity we all know things are in need of correcting, we want to win and to improve but we need to lower the immediate expectations and let the wrongs be righted, going to take time folks.

19 Jul 2020 18:48:36
Have to be realistic. Compare the Everton of consistent top 7 with the current top 7, even reaching back to that level may not be good enough. Some work to do Carlo.

1.) 19 Jul 2020 19:12:29
Compare Everton to the team David Moyes left it’s not good.

2.) 19 Jul 2020 19:30:29
Poor signings have hurt us. Let’s see what a world class manager can do in his first meaningful window. I’m hoping Ancelotti is a bigger reason to sign than playing in Europe on a Thursday night.

3.) 19 Jul 2020 22:07:44
CA dose not do the signing.

4.) 20 Jul 2020 08:08:21
I will settle for adding a few first teamers and pushing top 8 next season as that's where we are due to years of poor signings let's give this manager and brands as much time as he needs.

5.) 20 Jul 2020 10:18:51
I watched Spurs v Everton from 2002/ 3, the game finished 4-3 to Spurs. We had 5 starters out injured or suspended and we were still a much better side than what we are at the minute.

6.) 20 Jul 2020 10:58:27
Skylark. Everyone on here knows the process of signing and who does the work. Why be so quick to jump on a detail that isn’t in context to the post. We say that Carlo will want this and Carlo will want that. But we all know that we have a DoF who does the job. Relax a bit, and assume we all have a similar insight into how the club is run.

7.) 20 Jul 2020 12:37:05
Regards signings looks like finally moving in right direction as read an article yesterday were CA discussed his relationship with Brands and how they both have to agree on a transfer before it’s finalised.
No mention of Moshiri.
Hopefully Brands comes up with some gems CA will agree to and CA May come up with some transfers he would like and Brands can try and get deals done.
Reading the article sounded like they’ve got a good working relationship.

8.) 20 Jul 2020 13:14:35
I’m really looking forward to the window. Not because of how much we might or might not spend, but what Difference Ancelotti will make in contrast to the coaches in the past. Between him and Brands, it’s the best combination we have ever had in a transfer window.

9.) 20 Jul 2020 13:22:05
top 8 we will be lucky to finish 10th next season never alone 8th.

09 Jul 2020 20:11:36
Ancelloti out! Only kidding. At least he can see the mountain he needs to climb, Add FFP into the mix and it is some mountain.

1.) 09 Jul 2020 20:22:31
I feel bad for the guy. I can't see how he's going to get us challenging for Europe in his 5 year stint here. We need 4 £50mil midfielders, doubt we can even afford one this summer. Next year is going to be a hard watch if we carry in like this.

2.) 09 Jul 2020 21:07:53
FFP is not going to get in the way, I know people keep banging on about it but it’s not like we would go on a spending spree if it wasn’t an issue we will still bring it 2 or 3 players into this first team, Ancelotti has not been bought in to get mediocre players to try and get into Europe he will improve some of the players we have whilst bringing in better.

ToffeeApple think you are giving Barton a lot more than he's got. Barton and Big Dunc wouldn't have happened, Big Dunc would have reached down Bartons not inconsiderable big gob and pulled his sack out with all attached appendages.

Well Moshri wasted two years of Brands contract, so I wouldn't bet on it. Mind you carry on like he has when allowed to do his job and if he does stay, he would deserve a hike in pay.

You all have to take that game in the context of where they are and where we want to be. Against that opposition, Pickford was awful I have criticised his lack of ability to take instruction but that game has shown he is going to prevent us reaching the progress we desire. In my opinion if Carlo is not looking for a solution I would be very surprised.

Not bothered about Richarlison scoring to be honest. The lad with his skill and work capacity makes things happen. If somehow we could unearth a bargain RWB before window end, that would be some midfield and forward line: Rikki, DCL, RWB, Rodrigues,
Doucoure, Allan.
Back 5 (with GK) .

And some quality bench.

We need a defensive RW. Allow Rodrigues to move inside, unfortunately that would be Gomes to the bench (he has done nothing wrong) we still need Allan, Doucoure in the middle.
