Dan Meis is no longer involved in our new stadium. Not sure what this means or the reasons he’s no longer involved. Maybe one of the eds can shed some light on it.

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed025's Note - im not sure whats happened there joe, but i will try and find out mate..

I'm not sure how reliable but this Insta post says Architectural right given to 'Pattern' and this was always the plan! Also says Dan Meis offered a position to stay on in some capacity.

Seems sudden and he's not happy.

Heard a rumour from a Everton fan that Everton have offered £5m for Evans but they want close to £10m. he's usually spot on when it comes to anything Utd but fingers crossed he's got this one terribly wrong.

Hope your wrong he pants

{Ed025's Note - i agree dixie..

2.) 10 Aug 2015 19:57:05
I meant to say I heard it from a United fan not an Evertonian. I hope its not true too but he does seem to get good info on anything Utd related.

1.) According to the times wigan want 20 million for Mccarthy.

Lotan

2.) Mcarthy an gibson are so similar can't see it happening

3.) That article is 2 weeks old and just speculation.

4.) This is from days ago, was expecting recent news.

5.) That's from a week or so ago. The day RM was appointed.

6.) Story was written before Martinez was unveiled.

7.) Jesus just because we haven't signed anybody yet doesn't mean we won't. And why does everything come down to the board, we have a manager you know, one that I have been impressed with so far, who knows how to deal with transfers well and will not necessarily rush into signing players for the sake of it. Martinez clearly wants to improve Everton and deep down all you haters know that the majority of the board do too. Start moaning on the 30th August if we have yet to sign someone one. Until then enjoy the fact we now have a manager who smiles. {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

8.) Southernblue, when was anyone being a 'Hater'? all the comments are referring to the article he posted being old, no ones complained about who its linking us to.

9.) Had to laugh " A manager you been impressed with so far". Impressed with what exactly?

Thats Martinez all over Southernblue. Media darling. Already got you sucked in.

10.) Lets give Martinez a chance, the one thing I like about him is he is dignified, very much in the way Moyes was, as we haven't any results or signings to judge him by why don't we reserve opinion till then

To break from another managerial merry go round at us what’s people’s opinions of our team?
GK :- Pickford, much improved this season concentration ways but still a mistake in there. Hopefully keeps maturing as he gets older

Defenders :- Kenny, not good enough for epl.
Coleman, great servant and professional but too old and should only be playing when we’re struggling or resting players
Holgate :- Expected him to become a rock for us but not too be. He will be loaned or sold soon.
Godfrey :- strong tackler with pace but far from the finished article. Needs to improve positioning and heading or he’s going to be the next Holgate.
Keane :- the enigma that he is, 1 game looks very good defensively then next 10 games he’s like a rabbit in headlights. No fight and easily bullied.
Mina :- Easily our most important defender but he’s only interested in playing for Colombia. Too many injuries so unreliable and probably best replacing.
Branthwaite :- still developing but looks a prospect for future
Mykolenko :- so far not great but he’s only played 2 games so hopefully he can become accustomed to epl.

Midfield, Gray :- been outstanding since he joined, long may his direct play with pace continue.
Delph/ Iwobi :- offer pretty much nothing to our club, should be moved on asap
Gomes ;- not the player we 1st signed. Should be bit part player or moved on.
Doucore :- great engine but 1 game he’s unplayable then he has games where he can’t pass water. Needs more consistency
Allan :- good defensively but how slow is he. Think he’ll move on soon too.
Davis :- don’t rate him at all. I wish he would develop into a great player but doesn’t look likely
Townsend :- has done well since signed but can go missing in games. Keep as does offer goals.
Gordon :- still developing and looks good. Keep on the same track and he could become very important to us

Forwards :- Richarlison, as much as he’s a sulk he is our most important player. How long we keep him I don’t know.
DCL :- has developed into a top class cf, needs to get back to fitness.
Rondon :- there’s nothing I can say about him other than hopefully he finds another club soon.
Simms :- only seen him once and wasn’t impressed at all (big and slow)
Dobbins :- looked lively in the 1 sub appearance I seen him.

I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few but that’s my take on the squad at present. Didn’t mention Patterson or El Ghazi as I haven’t seen them play.

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed025's Note - very fair assessment there joe, we might only be able to field 6 players mind.. :)

1.) 16 Jan 2022 19:20:39
Still a few to move out by the end of the summer, but there’s some talent there. Can see Richy or Dom leaving which would be a shame, but would fund a rebuild at least.
I’ve always thought it might benefit Godfrey to blood him at DM whilst he progresses, a bit like Dier at Spurs.

2.) 16 Jan 2022 19:21:30
That's more than turned up yesterday ed.

3.) 16 Jan 2022 19:27:05
Think Patterson will be a really good player for us. Doucoure has already intimated that he is happier in a three man midfield, probably because it allows him to get forward more often. Just need two good midfielders to put with him.

4.) 16 Jan 2022 19:10:26
I thought we were playing with only 6 at times ed as that many go missing.

{Ed025's Note - you are not wrong there joe mate..

13 Sep 2021 14:58:45
What does everyone think will be the starting line up tonight niw that Mina Godfrey and James are available. I think Mina will start ahead of Holgate but think Godfrey and James will only make the bench. The rest of team will be unchanged.

Joe Mc - EFC

1.) 13 Sep 2021 16:20:57
Would like to see Mina and Godfrey play. Mina because Burnley have a big c/ f and Godfrey because his pace will allow full backs to get forward.

2.) 13 Sep 2021 19:40:47
Well there both playing but somehow Keane has snuck on there too. ?.

11 Feb 2021 09:51:13
I notice lots of people saying how bad we defended corners last night against Spurs. What was it that caused us problems, the quality of the corner or was it Mina and Keane not performing like they normally do? Big Dunc said it was the quality of delivery from Spurs but normally Mina or Keane win these headers comfortably but they didn’t last night.

Joe Mc - EFC

1.) 11 Feb 2021 10:45:46
Both players lined up to the middle and back of the defence, with DCL and Richy at the front. Once the ball cleared the front two we had a gap that allowed them to exploit. The frustrating thing for me is that we didn't change our set up after their first goal. Spurs clearly had an area they wanted to drop the ball into, and were pretty good at it.
The other issue I have with our set up is the lack of cover we put on our posts. A couple of goals could have been avoided if we had set up with cover on the posts.

2.) 11 Feb 2021 11:07:20
As good as sigs was he was at fault for the 3rd goal and also him and Lewin for the first goal the 3rd goal I have no idea what he was doing didn't face the ball and had no idea where the ball was but they will work on that it can happen.

3.) 11 Feb 2021 11:26:04
Sigs was at fault for 2 of the goals. Poor technique which will need worked on.
Olson was also glued to his line - Howard, Big Nev, Martin would have collected a few of them.
Pickford would have snapped Sanchez’ ACL and job done 😂 - only joking!

4.) 11 Feb 2021 15:11:09
Tottenham had 15 corners. Even with extra time that's an awful lot and although the defending was suspect some of the deliveries were in the Hinchcliffe class.

27 Oct 2020 17:33:58
Can anyone explain to me why Digne’s suspension has been reduced to 1 game? It’s either a red card or it’s not. Are there different levels to a straight red now or did the FA decide it was worthy of a 2nd yellow so 1 game ban?

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed025's Note - im not sure joe...but ill take it mate..

1.) 27 Oct 2020 18:00:59
I’ll take it too ed025 because it’s much better than 3 games. I don’t understand how they can reduce it to 1. Do all straight red cards not carry an automatic 3 game ban?

{Ed025's Note - well i thought so joe, i actually think its a good idea to have like a traffic light system depending on the incident mate..

2.) 27 Oct 2020 18:11:28
Id like to apologise ed025 and bow down to your superior football knowledge I really didn't think they would listen to the appeal. The tackle clearly wasn't as bad as I thought. I honestly thought it was a bad tackle but happy to admit when I'm wrong.

{Ed025's Note - no need WYred, i was surprised they changed their minds actually mate, i thought it was borderline at the time and just glad for our sakes that we got a sensible outcome, cheers..

3.) 27 Oct 2020 18:28:01
Hi guys and Ed, I’m not sure if I’m mistaken, but violent conduct ( which Digne was sent off for) or serious foul play both carry a 3 match ban, but for other red card offences like professional foul (last man) only carry a 2 game ban, hence his reduction.

{Ed025's Note - good stuff logie...cheers..

4.) 27 Oct 2020 18:32:59
No probs Ed, just checked in fact last man is only a 1 match ban.

{Ed025's Note - thanks logie..

5.) 27 Oct 2020 18:37:42
No worries Ed, and I thought it'd gone to one which is usually when your sent off for two yellows.

6.) 28 Oct 2020 09:38:20
Apparently we only appealed against the severity and not the card itself and they reduced as clear no intent.

7.) 28 Oct 2020 10:01:36
The rules that were brought in the season are pretty much this around Red cards
Ifa player is sent off for a second bookable offence they will be handed a one-match ban.

A professional foul, for example holding an opponent back when they're through on goal carries a one match ban as well.
Straight red cards for dissent will result in being banned for two matches
And anything like dangerous tackles or violent conduct will result in a three-match ban which can be raised to four or more games in extreme cases.
Reds for racism will result in a more lengthy ban.

And in the current climate a Red for spitting will get you an automatic 6 match ban!
You can also gain an extra match ban if you do not leave the pitch in a reasonable time!
You also still get bans for totting up yellows 😬.

8.) 28 Oct 2020 13:22:15
I thought a straight red was too harsh, it looked worse than it was and it's definitely an accident, so a 2nd yellow, hence 1 game ban is fair. Well done the FA or whoever for bringing in some common sense.

I see David Unsworth has been promoted to head of youth and academy with Leighton Baines working at all aspects for young professional footballers. The article also said Brands will be working alongside them, are we finaly utilising Brands skills? Ed002 has mentioned a few times how we are not ising Brands skills the way we could be.

It was only a few seasons ago that Holgate was playing really well for us. He was our best centre half, right back and defensive midfielder. His form went and then his confidence quickly followed. He has numerous chances to regain some form and confidence but it hasn't happened, his form now would struggle to get him on an intermediate team.
Unfortunately for us, Ben Godfrey has went pretty much the same way. Godfrey and Keane were taken right out of their comfort zones against Doncaster and struggled with their attacking players.

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed025's Note - if you think he has ever played really well you have a better memory than me Joe, i have always seen him as a liability mate..

I don’t think it would matter if we brought in Pep, Klopp and Tuchel in to work together, we would still struggle to win games in epl as our players are shocking. They lack any leadership and fight to battle against other premier league teams. I have no idea who we’ll bring in but whoever it is is on a hiding to nothing.

We are terrible to watch, can’t pass, no movement and no patterns of play at all. I do think we will be safe this season though because there are 3-4 teams that are consistently as bad or worse than us.
If those teams pick up performances a bit and we don’t then we will be in trouble. It’s going to be another long and tough season but it’s been this way for far too long now. It’s only a matter of time before we get relegated if things don’t change soon.

I hope so to Ed, we did play some decent stuff during the game. But that'll get lost after the complete collapse. I think we'll be safe this season if someone/ anyone can get a decent run of goals. We created many chances and half chances that we didn't convert.

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed014's Note - there were definitely things to be positive about Joe!

Hopefully this quick break will let the players reset and be ready when they come back.

Ed14 you guessed right, our midfield were missing for all 3 of their goals. Mykolenko and Coleman never cut out crosses. Mykolenko was easily pushed aside for the 1st goal at the back post as was Coleman for the 2nd. I don't know where Mykolenko was for the 3rd goal but he wasn't marking the goalscorer at the back were he should have been. I seen Harrison doing nothing for 1 of the goals and Doucoure standing watching as the ball was crossed for the 3rd goal. No other midfielder could be seen defending. I don't know what Dyches tactics were for the last 15-20mins but they should all be behind the ball when winning 2-0. They played with fire and got badly burnt.

Joe Mc - EFC

{Ed014's Note - sounds like an absolute mess mate, hopefully you guys can turn this around! ??

Is there anyone on here that didn't think we would struggle once they seen the team sheet? Last season Michael Keane played at the start of the season and cost us a few games with his mistakes. He usually has a steady enough game if the opposition like hoofing the ball upfront but there's always a costly error in him.

Young was a liability (errors and red cards) in defence for most games he played last season. I thought Dyche would get sacked if he stuck with Keane last season, but fortunately he didn't and we tightened up at the back.

Now here we are 12 months later and Dyche has resorted back to playing these 2 in defence. If he gets sacked, he only has himself to blame for sticking by the same players that have continually proven they are not consistent enough for the EPL (Keane, Young, Holgate, McNeill, Harrison etc). Definition of madness is trying the same thing over and over but expecting a different outcome.

Go and enjoy the game and don't worry about the score. We have nothing to lose so a decent performance is all we can ask, and who knows, we could nick a point. Not everybody gets to attend 'El Cheatico' as it has been labelled Andy haha.
