Liverpool sack Slot after winning PL first them in his first season. Decisive! Shows nothing but the best is good enough for the reds.
Hope our owners live up to our motto Nil satis nisi optimum and get rid of DM, but I doubt they will.
Thoughts fellow blues?

I can't see it happening PH, as much as I'd like a change.
30 May 2026 14:06:32
Shows what a clown show LFC are, nearly as bad as Manu getting rid of Mournio after finishing 2nd and winning a cup. Not worked out well for Manu since. Can't wait ta see how many managers get blamed for LFC being crap for the next 10 years. Get Yergan back will be the cry.
30 May 2026 14:25:45
A clown show? What does that make your shower of a set up?
30 May 2026 15:05:40
Slot finished 5th after spending a fortune and playing very dire football.
Very different from United sacking Mourinho.
30 May 2026 16:30:46
You wonder if a conversation was had around Christmas with Iraola saying they'd be sacking Slot if things don't improve, so hold back committing to anything.
Let's not kid ourselves: we are not run well and haven't been for a decade.
The current lot are better than Moshiri's mess, but we can only hope things get better. Roma aren't doing badly, so you'd think we will turn things around eventually. It would have been such a different story if we hadn't bottled the last 7 games.
30 May 2026 18:10:20
Thought Arsenal won.
30 May 2026 19:31:24
Hahaha. Absolutely bizarre behaviour to sit on an Everton rumours site, being a Liverpool fan.
Like a weird ex, stalking you and your new piece type of behaviour.
What can you possibly get out of it. Utterly criminal stuff.
30 May 2026 19:49:19
Bloody sad, if you ask me, BN mate.
30 May 2026 21:30:54
We can only dream of being Liverpool right now.

BN, GB, Pure entertainment.
30 May 2026 13:21:44
Liverpool see a fault, they fix it, they see a problem, they get rid of it, their fans are the same way, they demand better, they won’t accept not being great.
Our board look at a fault and think “Well I’ll sort that later, they see a problem and go “Well it could be worse”, our fans say “Careful what you wish for”.
This only further cements what absolute losers we are inside and out, Liverpool should adopt Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, because they live by that motto. We don’t, we just drag our feet and refuse to act until it’s too late.
But at least we have stability, right?

We wait till nearly relegated before we do anything.
30 May 2026 15:34:58
Liverpool sack a fella who won more in two years than we've won in 30. Let that sink in for a minute.
People on here say give Moyes another year because he is safe, or maybe he'll change his ways after 20 odd years. All it means is we'll fall further behind the big clubs.
If we want to be a big club again, we need a decisive owner who is desperate for success & not just survival.
Moyes should've gone after the final whistle against Spuds. Proactive owners would've already had a new coach waiting to take over the next day. If TFG are waiting another week, then we can assume they're happy with Moyes & we can forget another year.
UTFT NSNO. ? ? ?
30 May 2026 15:42:55
Slot won with Klopp's squad, and was then not strong enough to stand up to his players throwing a hissy fit. As soon as Iraola left Bournemouth, Hughes was always going to make a move.
30 May 2026 16:38:42
Reds dropped off when Salah dropped off. If they'd have planned for that and got a replacement, they'd have been fine. I always thought Kudus would have been a fitting replacement.
30 May 2026 21:32:55
Remind me, where did they finish again?
31 May 2026 10:58:32
Bit of a difference between the two clubs don't you think? He has been sacked as they were defending champions and finished well below expectations, how many points off their total last season? These cheap shots at fans who don't share your opinions are getting tedious swan!
30 May 2026 13:05:36
Our friends across the park have just dispatched a manager who in his first year, won the league, in his second, qualified for the Champions League. Their American owner, have been ruthless enough to dispatch a manager who failed to meet their expectations.
So, TFG, please note, and act accordingly. If they are genuinely ambitious, Moyes simply has to go, not in a season's time, but right now.

So there we have it, Slot just been sacked from the other side… you can bet you’re bottom dollar they’ll be going all out to get Iraola in the one manager that we should of been going for, beaten to it again because of the slowness of our dithering owners, so Everton that!

30 May 2026 12:49:35
Don't think our owners have ever been dithering, mate, plenty of good managers about if the time ever comes and DM leaves.
30 May 2026 13:04:28
Name them, GB?
30 May 2026 13:22:38
DM, Giasner, Slot Alosnso, Xavi, and the list goes on, mate, how many holes will you put through them.
30 May 2026 15:33:12
Alonso has a job, but there's no point getting DM if DM goes, mate. Slot is crap. Glasner will have a job by then.
So again, who are these good managers that will be around if Moyes leaves around Christmas or next season?
{Ed025's Note - the Grinch?.. :)
30 May 2026 16:20:33
Probably Santa Claus, mate.
30 May 2026 17:07:54
As hard as it is for some to grasp, it doesn't look like the board are looking to replace Moyes so they haven't dithered or been beaten to anything!

30 May 2026 13:51:39

30 May 2026 15:10:19
Come on, GB, take the blue tinted glasses off for a minute and just look at the football.
30 May 2026 15:37:06
I was referring to Slot, mate.
30 May 2026 13:52:42
Ed25, suggesting we might get slot, that qualifies as cruel & unusual punishment, but knowing Everton, quite possible.
{Ed025's Note - his teams plat terribly boring football AB...so he would fit in really nicely mate.. :)
30 May 2026 10:13:57
All this talk about Moyes not playing young players or new signings would not have been an issue had the first eleven been playing well. But it is very clear that Micky has been struggling and when Aznou got his chance he performed well.
O'Brien struggled at right back at a time when both our centre backs were playing poorly as a unit. Meanwhile we had Patterson sitting on the bench.
Last few games of the season, both KDH and Ndiaye's form dropped off. We had replacements on the bench who could and should have been given their opportunity.
We got a glimpse of this near the end of the Spurs game when Alcaraz, Armstrong and George all came on. All three looked to push forward and bring energy into the team. Unfortunately the changes were made far too late.
No player, however good they have been, should be nailed on to start if their form drops off. Yet this is what we have seen this season. The manager is a fault for this, and it has cost us a European place.
Moyes is not protecting the young players. He just doesn't know how to use them or trust them.
Agree7
Disagree0
30 May 2026 11:59:38
So true, Brass, and that is why so many of us are up in arms. If we lose Alcarez, George gets sent back and Aznou (who has lost his international place) asks for a transfer. How the hell are we going to attract young players going forward? Moyes may have support on the board and in the media, but if this board really cares about the club, they need to thank Moyes and move on.
29 May 2026 21:32:24
Does anyone think that we will start next season reasonably well and be comfortably sitting just above mid-table after 10 games?
The reason I ask, is because, previously when we had a bad season under Moyes then the following season, we always seemed to do much better by qualifying for Europe.
And it does look like Moyes will be here for the start of next season even though we have had one off, if not our most disappointing finishes to a season that I can remember.

29 May 2026 22:11:13
I always remember us historically starting poorly under Moyes, Joe. He always seemed to turn it up after the winter break.
I think how well we do will depend on who we bring in, because this team isn't good enough atm mate.
29 May 2026 22:36:29
I remember the same, BN. Used to finish the season strongly under Moyes - this year we seemed to stop seven games out.
30 May 2026 04:10:49
We need a few in, mate.
30 May 2026 08:08:07
While I completely agree that full backs are a huge priority. The more I think about it, the more I want a striker. Simply because of the amount of absolute sitters missed by B&B. I think we'd be in Europe next season if half of them were converted.
30 May 2026 08:58:56
As always, the excitement will build towards the new season. Same as above for me, we need a pretty serious rebuild of the first team, there's only 4 or 5 players that are of the required standard to push us on. If TFG back some big signings, the fans will be back on board.
29 May 2026 14:28:16
With the younger players we signed this season I believe Moyes is protecting them. They've all moved a significant distance and probably need protecting from us who demand perfection and if they mess up we will crucify them. I think next season we will see a lot more of them or they will go out on loan. Have faith in them.
Agree1

29 May 2026 14:53:04
DM stated from when they signed that they would not get much game time, mate.
{Ed025's Note - i get that GB but do you really splash out £40m on someone who is not going to get much game time?, he may come good but thats a massive gamble in my book mate..
29 May 2026 15:10:44
He's protecting them by halting their development for a year and likely selling or loaning them for less than we paid this summer?
Okay, whatever helps people sleep at night, I guess.
29 May 2026 16:46:01
If you don't play the younger players you have signed, how will you ever know if they are going to make the grade at Premier League level?
Our "recruitment team" must have seen potential to sign them in the first place, but they have to be tried at some point, as those signed will not all make it, unfortunately.
If you are not going to bother trying them, youngsters will not have the incentive to come to the club, and Moyes will continue with a team of mainly 30+ year olds.
{Ed025's Note - i agree FG..
29 May 2026 16:51:28
Plenty of other Prem teams buy young talent and don't throw them in the team. Arsenal have disrupted the progress of plenty of young talent, and won the league. Perhaps Dibling will have a great season next year?
29 May 2026 16:53:12
40 million on a future player. I've never heard so much crap. A player who shone in the Premier League the season before needs protection. Ha ha ha. He needs protected from our useless, inept, dithering manager.
29 May 2026 16:06:06
I don't know Ed mate not sure if DM ever really wanted him, I remember him saying he wouldn't play him, just wished we had spend that £40 million on a top striker myself
{Ed025's Note - me too mate..
29 May 2026 17:20:59
Arsenal can afford to do that, JB. Everton cannot. Simple.
29 May 2026 17:21:03
What club has spent £40m on a player to purposely not play them to protect them, that's then shone next season under the same manager?
29 May 2026 17:59:01
Since when have we demanded perfection? All we want is for them to play football.
29 May 2026 18:41:35
Should have put that 40m with the 20m we got for Barry and got a proper striker.
29 May 2026 19:22:25
It's a curse that so many of our fans have 20/20 hindsight.
29 May 2026 19:46:51
Like Wissa or Strand Larsen Dev? Not having a pop there, btw, mate, but just stating, you can chuck double what we paid for Barry at a player and it still doesn't guarantee success.
That being said, there are plenty of strikers out there, a lot cheaper than the above, that would be less of a gamble, as they are simply better all round players.
Out and out goal scorers are in shorter supply than they used to be.
They come at a premium, and all the big clubs are probably in the mix. It is near impossible to find another Haaland these days. I would rather take less of a gamble and focus on getting a decent football player to lead the line for us, who can make goals by bringing others into play or draw fouls by clever IQ.
29 May 2026 19:47:43
Well, everyone makes mistakes. We seem to make a lot more than most teams. Right now we need to recruit players who can fit into the team right away, which means, in Moyes language, only those over 30 who have worked under him before.
29 May 2026 20:53:05
I don't think anyone is disagreeing with the concept of buying young players for the future. I don't think anyone is saying they don't want these youngsters doing well.
What I think is different between us and other teams is this: we are not there yet. We are not in the position to buy lots of expensive kids and never play them when we need at least three major positions upgraded with quality starting players. £40m+ for a prospect when we haven't got a starting XI worthy of the prem is daft. It's running before walking. Sort out the team, get us winning games and consistently in the top half, then buy these potential kids with the idea of developing them.
Given this season was for the taking, we should have planned better, recruited better and had cash spare for back ups. Instead, we put ourselves in the position of playing people out of position. We made poor substitutions as the manager didn't think the players are ready. That £40m could have paid for a half decent RB and LB. Both were needed this season.
As for the £30m spent on Barry, could have stuck with Beto and signed someone like Wilson as backup for a lot less.
29 May 2026 22:44:00
What you say, BR, makes complete sense.
We need to get the full back position sorted once and for all, move OBrien to central defence and see how he performs, as he has not really had a chance yet in that position. Further, a decent central defender needs to be signed also, due to doubts over Branthwaite's fitness.
29 May 2026 14:22:02
Moyes often in the past quoted Whisky Nose as being a manager of whom he praised the most highly, but the 2 management styles couldn’t be quite different as if Moyes could learn a lot from his mentor if he homed in a little more as Fergie's title winning teams were also built on youngsters coming through from the academy set up and also played much more attractive football than the tosh we’ve all witnessed the last couple of months… Moyes never trusts youth, Fergie did and ended up with Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Butt to just name a few… My fear is that Moyes now being the age he is, is unable to change in his ways and has become truly Jurassic and a bit of a dinosaur type manager, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think I am… For me we need a change of manager in time for pre-season to show ambition going forwards and a manager who trusts younger players and plays a more up to date attacking game whoever that might.
I expect what will happen is that the current owners will start with him as gaffer next season, but if things spiral fast then he will be replaced. One things for sure, what we have all witnessed on the pitch these past couple of months and also in Moyes' interviews afterward each match has been nothing less than unacceptable for this our beloved club.

I think football has been overcomplicated with tipy tapy football and you need to play certain ways, yes, everything evolves, but set pieces and long throws have come back in the last couple of seasons. Can't wait for teams to play with 2 strikers again because it will come back. Centerbacks love it, just marking 1 guy between them, especially when it's us. Just stay organised and press together and defend together.
We have Beto closing down their keeper and we are all in our own half. They keep possession with ease and attack as they want. The opposition keep pressing us on the edge of their box and we end up back with Pickford, with them still pressing, and hoof we give it back to them. So either bad tactics by the manager or just bang average players we have.
29 May 2026 20:57:29
Even with world class players, hoofing the ball and gifting teams possession will never win you games. The occasional direct ball can create a chance, but only when unexpected. Teams know to double up in the forward and cut off the second-phase ball if it's your main line of attack.
As for Moyes and his tactics, he does himself no favours with terrible subs (or lack of) and flogging the dead horse of one lone striker with no support until the game is long gone and over.
