Not sure what is taken longer the time it too to charge Man City, or this international break?!

Its crap when the footy's not on. I have to talk to my family and everything!

Yeah and another week to go ahhhhhh.

04 Oct 2026 19:50:32
Speaking to my Son In Law today. 'Everyone, I mean everyone with a single football braincell has known about Man Cities ownership for years ever since their purchase' he is spot on.

04 Oct 2026 21:10:53
I'm a chartered accountant dms and its been obvious to me for ages.

The real crime here is that it has taken a nerdy hacker from Portugal to reveal what was going on and sell it to a German paper.

Ask yourself how on Earth have the PL not properly known about this prior to that leak. And I can only come to the conclusion that they either knew about and turned a blind eye, or were complicit.

As much as I love our club and the game in general, I'm finding it really hard to love football nowadays.

This comes on top of the FIFA Peace Prize, Infantino, Trump getting cards rescinded, Chelsea getting a slap on the wrist for also cheating and us getting hammered.

I just find it all depressing if I'm honest.

04 Oct 2026 23:00:48
It makes you wonder what skeletons exist in other clubs Benny.

The amount of reported debt United and Liverpool's owners are in makes you wonder how they have managed to still run the clubs.

I don't think any of the breakaway six are squeaky clean - I just don't know how they do it.

Micky injured and only other left back loaned out. Oh dear.

03 Oct 2026 14:40:34
We will be fine.

03 Oct 2026 14:46:29
Who will fill in there?

Was wondering if it would be one of the other centre halves.

03 Oct 2026 15:35:09
Garner would be my choice. Have plenty of options in the middle of the pitch, especially with Norgaard back in training.

03 Oct 2026 15:48:59
Apparently o'brien can play LB or may even go 3 at the back.

03 Oct 2026 16:53:23
Don't mind who plays just let's keep going with our excellent start.

03 Oct 2026 17:16:56
I bet he's fit for next Sunday.

03 Oct 2026 20:58:42
Jimmy ended up playing left back for England tonight so he can fill in.

03 Oct 2026 21:06:22
I heard from my uncles taxis driver that knows this women who's brother fitted a kitchen for this bloke, well he recon AMN can play at left back and has done on a few occasions and obrien will go in at right back, but don't take that as the gospel truth it could be just gossip lol.

If the premiership, confirm city's guilt, and decides that city have to be relegated.
Could the football league refuse to accept them, in that event, could they have to apply to the nations league for a root back into football?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2026 16:00:31
If they have points deduction enough to relegate then it is part of the system. If they are banned (my choice and owners barred) then they have to apply to rejoin the league and as the league is a relegation promotion system, the league if they approve would have to decide at what level.

League two would give them a 3 season ban. We know though none of that will happen. This is big and beyond our pay grade, big lawyers and big hitters involved, already Politicians, City and their lawyers are calling the verdict an opinion so can see where this is going.

03 Oct 2026 18:21:46
It's just all noise coming from City and their fans right now. They can call it opinions all they like, I'm pretty sure the PL aren't trying to sanction them on an opinion alone, they seem certain that they have the evidence to prove City have bot been honest in their dealings.

What their fans seem to be forgetting is that City, like every other club in the division, all vote and agree on financial matters. They haven't been caught because of the 'red cartel' as they are seemingly blaming, they have been caught out because their owners have shown a blatant disregard to the league rules.

Kick them out of the entire football pyramid and let them start again. Bar the last 15 years or so, they have been used to languishing in the lower divisions! If we get 12 points deducted for our own financial breaches, although this was reduced on appeal, then the PL should throw the book at them for 114 charges. Let's see how corrupt those at the top really are.

03 Oct 2026 20:59:59
I'm hearing a 60 point deduction and a transfer ban over a period not sure how long.

04 Oct 2026 00:21:48
We'll see just how honest/corrupt the Premier League is when the decision comes.
Imo City should be relegated to League 2 & start the next five seasons after that on -40 points.

Their owners thought that being gazillionaires meant the rules didn't apply to them. If us & Forest hadn't have been so severely dealt with over minor infractions, City may well have got away with a massive fine & transfer ban.

This may well reignite the European super league possibility & if it does, let's wave the so called top 6 goodbye & get on with honest football.

UTFT NSNO ? ? ?.

04 Oct 2026 20:01:28
What does a 60 point reduction do? It does not, cannot carry over to relegation, it has to be a ban and reapply. Nothing of the sort though will happen, owners are Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi is so thick with UK Government.

Yes they are found guilty because there is no other option, but now the Prem, FA, Government appointed independent regulator etc are hamstrung over appropriate punishment.

04 Oct 2026 22:04:06
As I also follow my local Doncaster Rovers I don't want the cheats anywhere near our level it would basically kill the season. I'm sure fans over all lower league clubs feel thexsame.

02 Oct 2026 12:25:56
City launch an appeal, going to be a roller coaster that could take forever.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Oct 2026 13:57:18
The FA and Burnham involved now, so political as Cities owners are heavily UAE Government interlinked and our Government linked very closely with major Arab states. I foresee a Infantino like obscure rule happening. Much bigger things involved and important than us Plebs.

02 Oct 2026 21:52:37
It has received too much global attention for them to whitewash it completely. City will probably not get what they deserve but it will have to be a deterrent to others otherwise why have regulations.

03 Oct 2026 07:51:16
Owners should be made to sell up, they are clearly not adhering to the Premiership rules on running a football club.
Or just say feck it let all owners do what they like and watch it implode.

03 Oct 2026 17:19:00
Well bluemike fair enough but UAE have billions invested in UK, one little indication those investments will be pulled, delayed, lowered, Givernment will be on their bellies.

03 Oct 2026 20:39:01
The whole thing is a farce dms. Chelsea and City can do what they like and teams like Everton and Forest deviate a little and immediately have points deducted.
I can't believe that the UAE would want to do anything rash over a football team or that the UK government would do anything either.

It will be whitewashed though mainly due to the Premier League officials who will be looking for ways to minimize the disruption to the status quo which benefits only themselves.

Just seen these figures doing the rounds regarding the potential financial losses suffered by clubs as a result of Man City's alleged financial breaches.

According to the figures published by Give Me Sport, Everton could potentially be looking at £28,944,186, which is apparently the highest amount of any club on the list.

The figures are based on potential losses relating to things such as league positions, European qualification, Premier League prize money, and the impact on league and cup titles.

And there's another important factor to consider: interest.

We've already seen with the Burnley case against us that interest can form part of a compensation claim. So if clubs were ultimately able to bring successful claims against City, the final amounts could potentially be considerably higher than the figures below depending on how interest was calculated.

The figures shown are:

1. Everton — £28,944,186

2. Manchester United — £28,118,305

3. West Ham United — £28,089,124

4. Crystal Palace — £27,333,243

5. Newcastle United — £26,902,577

6. Chelsea — £25,787,679

7. Tottenham Hotspur — £25,540,172

8. Liverpool — £24,423,357

9. Aston Villa — £23,052,791

10. Brighton — £21,769,248

11. Bournemouth — £21,415,229

12. Arsenal — £21,290,352

13. Southampton — £21,228,124

14. Wolves — £20,492,042

15. Burnley — £19,203,326

16. Fulham — £19,024,448

17. Leicester City — £17,994,755

18. Brentford — £14,200,387

19. Nottingham Forest — £12,611,429

20. Sunderland — £10,935,938

21. West Bromwich Albion — £10,854,801

22. Watford — £10,492,758

23. Leeds United — £10,297,033

24. Swansea City — £9,107,386

25. Stoke City — £9,107,206

26. Norwich City — £7,448,389

27. Sheffield United — £6,618,375

28. Hull City — £4,422,590

29. Huddersfield Town — £3,849,786

30. Cardiff City — £3,154,601

31. Luton Town — £3,100,000

32. Queens Park Rangers — £2,755,841

33. Ipswich Town — £2,651,429

34. Middlesbrough — £1,941,609

35. Wigan Athletic — £1,510,943

36. Reading — £755,881

37. Blackburn Rovers — £755,062

38. Bolton Wanderers — £755,062

We've spent years hearing about financial sustainability, PSR, points deductions and clubs being punished for relatively small breaches, while this case potentially involves alleged financial advantages on a completely different scale.

Obviously, these are potential calculations and not confirmed amounts that City have been ordered to pay. There would still be major legal questions over whether individual clubs could establish a claim and how any losses would actually be calculated.

But if the alleged breaches are ultimately established and clubs can demonstrate that they suffered financial losses as a consequence, I'd certainly expect the compensation question to become a very interesting part of the aftermath.

And if our potential figure really is £28.9m before interest, you can bet I'd want the club looking very closely at whether we're entitled to every penny.

Wont happen, politics will intervene.

30 Sep 2026 21:15:34
Why are we top of the list again? Other teams would have missed out on more than us.

30 Sep 2026 21:16:57
Wasn't our charge based around a £22million interest payment on the ground due to rising cost because we failed to anticipate Russia invading Ukraine.
Interesting that we were £28 m shy of potential earnings would that have kept us out of FSP?

30 Sep 2026 22:09:23
I also thought investing in infrastructure wasn't taken into account for FFP. I'm probably ignorant of why we were actually done but I'm also sure we complied with everything and didn't try to hide it. However, Chelsea had a fine and City will probably get a slapped wrist. Nearly ruined us but other teams just don't suffer as much.

01 Oct 2026 06:30:56
I read somewhere that we wouldn't be pursuing this. Not sure the reasons why, but I hope it's not a morality point we're trying to make as that bar is very low in this league and football in general.

I'm not surprised though that we are top of missed revenue as we are an ever present club in the PL with the least time spent in European football competitions. So with that revenue factor it makes sense to me.

29 Sep 2026 22:18:38
Just reading the comments on here about Burnley suing us and what might it mean for man city and other clubs suing them.

I'm just thinking outside the box let's say we would've finished higher each season due to city's cheating we would've had extra prize money, does that mean we wouldn't have broken FFP when we did.

Also do we get the extra prize money back that we lost due to points deductions and all the legal fees of the case etc where will it end.
It is going to be a proper clusterf***, when or if this ever gets sorted out.

Agree6 Disagree0

30 Sep 2026 16:49:40
Not gone into great depth looking at all the seasons, but in one of them we finished 5th (one place outside champs league) and in one of them 8th (one place outside Europa League) . Although both precede the period we were charged for both would have involved extra revenue, extra exposure, potential extra sponsorship income so therefore the potential for us to have not broken the rules in the period that we did. The whole thing is a proper car crash and shows what a shambles the Premier League leadership is.
Does highlight the question though.

What is the purpose of the rules? They're supposed to be about sustainability, but Man City have built themselves into a massive club by breaking the rules so are they fit for the claimed purpose? Or does it shine a light on the real truth that the rules are there to stop wealthy people buying clubs and funding them to the extent they might upset the established order. Imagine any other industry/sector where you buy a business but are not allowed to invest enough to make the business successful.

01 Oct 2026 08:22:42
I agree with you TG. The rules only achieve one thing, keeping so called smaller teams in their place.

This is why I have some sympathy for Man City. They have ambitious owners willing to fund their team and having to find ways round rules to be able to do it. I think they are missing a trick though. Rather than trying to defend themselves, they should come out and say the rules prevent equal competition.

Two of the current big 5 are Chelsea and Man City and neither of those teams have ever been viewed as successful prior to having owners willing to throw their money at the team to forcefully generate that success. Without teams like them willing to circumnavigate the rules, we'd end up like the La Liga with only 2 teams capable of winning.

02 Oct 2026 09:20:43
That's not the half of it they would also need to pay between 5 and 8% per month interest on top. Not too sure what the interest rate we had to pay Burnley but the compensation wasn't the 38m it was something like 23m.

Even worse though ours went back a couple of years, they'll have 17 years worth of interest.

The EPL will not relegate or give a point deduction to city. They are going to give a fine and transfer ban. But the club will be given the green light to sue them. Which will take years. Complete farse.

29 Sep 2026 20:41:00
Chelsea were only fined with no points deduction based on the new owners being open and admitting the problems made by the previous owners.
On that basis if the Arabs sell City to new owners (maybe a new Arab consortium) who then admit all of the points made against the old owners will that give the League a way to replicate the Chelsea deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2026 22:10:01
The issue with this scenario Mike is that Chelsea should never have been let off.

We can talk about city and what might happen but Chelsea should have been dealt with properly.

As a result, I still think that City will be treated leniently. Only thing going against them is the press have got on board for this one. They won't get off as easy but I doubt it will be Scot-free.

30 Sep 2026 00:56:38
Yes I agree BR but they were let off. So as I say if City end up by being owned by someone else could the same scenario apply.
I know this is just speculation but Ed001 is it legally possible for the Premier League to order the City owners to sell the club.

If they did that they could argue that they have punished the owners and then treat the club like they treated Chelsea?

30 Sep 2026 12:14:50
I don't think so Mike on the basis that Chelsea weren't dealt with before the new owners took charge.
Also TFG weren't responsible for the Burnley situation but have to pay the full penalty so there's that to consider too.

30 Sep 2026 14:22:55
I believe Everton will win their appeal.

30 Sep 2026 21:59:24
Sorry if I over simplify this but I'm very confused with City's treatment.

City broke rules. Hid the facts. Owners denied it all. Found guilty. Punishment to be decided.

Chelsea broke rules. Hid the facts. New owners self report. Found guilty. Pitiful fine.

How did Chelsea get off so lightly when Forest, Leicester and ourselves all complied with investigations? Points deductions for one breach each but Chelsea had 74 and got nowhere near as much.

The excuse of 'self reporting' should mean nothing as they would have been found out eventually and they are as bad as City by hiding it.

If City are dealt with properly, is there any chance of reopening Chelsea's case?

01 Oct 2026 17:58:10
I could be wrong, and appreciate it's a little ridiculous. But I think the difference with Chelsea is they didn't breach and wouldn't have breached the ffp limit, so they were not punished as an ffp breach.

29 Sep 2026 20:27:15
As a sidenote, will the sponsors, business entities and agents and other parties who did business the MC fraud the band from the Premier League?

29 Sep 2026 20:31:50
Banned not ban. Darn voice to text?

29 Sep 2026 22:11:08
I'd like to see the owners banned. They knew what they were doing.

30 Sep 2026 12:11:02
Yes, they were laughing up their sleeves all this time; it's easy to imagine.
Let's face it, the city owners have created a mess, and it has now been proven that they are a bunch of 'intentional miscreants' on a grand scale. 'Are' is the keyword here: some kind of second chance would be an insult to clubs that feel that the points won from them by city, were decisive in their relegation, costing millions of pounds.

Likewise, with teams challenging for silverware.
They have an entitled arrogance too, denying everything and holding back information vital to the investigation; surely that should add to any punishment etc.

02 Oct 2026 14:04:44
City are as guilty as sin, so if the premiershiphave have any hope of restoring their credibility, they must face the services there sanction.

29 Sep 2026 18:37:24
Norgaard back in full training. Hopefully be a huge boost to the first team squad.

Signing of the window for me Gents.

30 Sep 2026 11:42:40
Is it possible City could resign from the Premium League before any punishment handed out? Therefore avoiding any points deduction penalty or demotion. They then buy their way in to the Saudi Pro League, until such time as when Euro Super League is established, and they then join that.

{Ed025's Note - i cant see that as an option myself mate..
