It seems David Moyes don't trust Any other players in my team.

It seems David Moyes don't trust Any other players in my team.
03 Nov 2025 11:34:42
Don't really tend to look too far ahead but I can see our midfield looking a lot different next year with two rangey and athletic all-rounders in there, in Rohl and Armstrong.
That will give us some much needed energy and bite.
2 new full backs should be a priority along with a no9 and then we can kick on somewhat, until then, it looks like it is going to be the same old turgid displays.
03 Nov 2025 15:10:21
Never going to get all what we needed in the first window, if we can get a decent Striker Toney would be massive for us and a couple of fullbacks in January top 10 or even Europe maybe possible this season.
03 Nov 2025 18:12:43
With Moyes only having signed a short contract and believe that would be up at the end of next season would you want him recruiting in the summer window?
Unless he signs an extension we’ll be in the same old scenario of having a new manager join and not having the players they want and then having to start another rebuild.
Hopefully the new owners recruit players for the team and not solely ones the manager wants.
03 Nov 2025 10:55:31
Obviously hope for a win tonight, but got a feeling of a draw. Everton's motivated just to get 3 points tonight. Sunderland's motivation is 3 points gets them back to 2nd place I think. If we don't get 3 points then it's a serious concern, strikers not scoring and defence leaking goals which we all know.
I watched the Bournemouth players yesterday and they looked full of running and not tired out after 90 minutes where some of ours look tired after 60 minutes. So there's a fitness issue.
I worked out the average age of Everton's starting 11 was 28.5 years, with 5 players being 30 or over and Gardner the youngest at 24 years. Surely there's a need to get younger players into the team and not be sat on the bench, loaned out to other clubs or sold. But if not good enough then selling the obvious option.
We talk about needing a few transfer windows to get the squad we need, but in a few windows, there's 5 players approaching mid thirties who will need replacing or coming to end of careers.
We've got Beto who at 27 years, should be the finished article but as we know is far far from it and obviously needs replacing unless a sudden improvement is shown.
Our defence has saved us over the last few years but the cracks are starting to show, the absence of Branthwaite obviously hasn't helped.
So it's going to be a long journey and settle for mid table finish and a Wembley finish in the FA cup
As regards getting into Europe we haven't got the squad depth in my opinion to deal with that at present.

Confident of a win today. Think we will win comfortably as well. 2-0.
02 Nov 2025 15:21:27
I assume you’re a City fan, wrong site mate, Everton play tomorrow ?.
02 Nov 2025 15:38:34
We more chance of winning today than tomorrow.
02 Nov 2025 18:05:26
That’s the spirit skylark! I was expecting you to say we’ve more chance later this month once Moyes is asked. Suggesting we could win under this regime is a positive step. I call that progress….
02 Nov 2025 18:15:40
Sorry but Moyes isn't progress in my eyes. But what do I know,
02 Nov 2025 20:15:48
Now-now Skylark… let’s not slip into old habits. Remember, in Davey we trust and all that.
03 Nov 2025 02:48:01
Davey isn't long term, i think we all know that.
We needed a manager to hit the ground running, who knew the club and could transition us into our new home.
Let's get this season and maybe next under our belts and then see who's available. Until then, yes IMWT
NSNO UTFT IMWT.
03 Nov 2025 09:08:00
I like Moyes and wanted him back, at least for the short term. He just is so infuriating in as much as he is so one track with his tactics. Hopefully he will try something new today. A win will be so beneficial to players and supporters alike, we all need a lift in our spirits.
{Ed025's Note - another loss Mike and people will start asking questions mate..
03 Nov 2025 11:04:46
Sunderland at home and if we lose people will be asking questions. Don't mean to be insulting but sounds like one of our beloved politicians talking. The players 'will' give of their best, all the players. Nobody is going to roll over for us. Sorry about the Politician thing.
{Ed025's Note - its actually Sunderland away mate..
03 Nov 2025 12:43:23
Missed out their.
03 Nov 2025 13:44:12
Funny old game isn't it. We were in the sh*t when Moyes came in. he did so well that it didn't look like we'd been in trouble by end of season. Stabilised things, got positivity back around the club going into new stadium. Some of the signings are projects (Aznou, Barry) which was an interesting approach when we needed depth but it's hardly like it's been a horrendous start to the season. We're two full backs and a CF away from being a very decent side. couldn't change it all overnight but maybe the aforementioned two will solve two of the problems?
Truly amazed that fans are calling for another manager's head.
It's been one of our biggest issues for a decade and now we've got someone with his head screwed on that's made a solid, if unspectacular, start and loads of people are at it again. Try and be positive, support the team and the manager and just maybe recognise that relentless fan negativity has been a significant contributory factor to an awful decade.
02 Nov 2025 14:27:51
I keep sitting back for a few weeks, reading people's comments and assessing where we are as a club.
Yes, the last few weeks haven't been great.
There is no disgrace in losing 2-0 away to a Haaland inspired City, we had chances to get something out of the game. and I'll come back to that.
The Spurs game was the perfect storm of everything going wrong. that can happen to any team against anyone, it doesn't make it any less painful though.
That brings us to the issues.
Yes we need a little more cover in the full back positions but with Garner more than capable of cover both fullback positions maybe we need to look at a loan signing in January to cover RB or LB and let Garner concentrate on covering 1 position till the summer.
As for the Striker situation, it is a real problem. We can argue about the scouting system all day long but the fact of the matter is £50m worth of strikers just aren't doing the business. Barry is forgivable at the moment, he is young needs to settle etc.
I can't believe how much Beto seems to have gone backwards, for all his faults he seemed to always be happy to bust a gut for us. That seems to have disappeared of late.
We have to remember though, we have had one transfer window and the small matter of settling into a new stadium to deal with.
We can't fix every issue in one window, let's hope we get it right and bring in the right striker in January. My dream scenario would be Beto leaving and Richy and Toney in. we can dream but that won't happen lol.
My last point is when Branthwaite is back or we do move O'brien to CB, why are people talking about either of them partnering Tarks? He has made clumsy/ bad mistakes in so many games, he hasn't been punished everytime but Keane has looked so much better. He deserves his run in the team.
Things aren't perfect but there has been improvements, let's stay patient and I am sure we will be climbing the table again soon.
02 Nov 2025 15:22:45
When Branthwaite is back, or, hopefully, when O’Brien gets moved to the middle, I absolutely agree he should be next to Keane. Tarkowski has been a fantastic signing and I hope it’s just bad form, because at his best, he’s better than Keane, but not this season.
03 Nov 2025 06:30:15
Great post Duaney, good to read some sensible balanced views. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
03 Nov 2025 11:06:48
No it took centuries, HSR2 will take longer though.
02 Nov 2025 11:15:04
Good morning fellow evertonians I used to be toffebwoy1 but had to get a new username what are we all thinking for the match against Sunderland I really don't think they are unbeatable but can see moyes f#######g it up again if I am honest he is so reluctant to try something else in the attacking areas of the pitch B&B have not clicked so far and he clearly does not trust or rate our under 21 so what's the answer I welcome your views fellow blues UTFT.
{Ed025's Note - im hoping for at least a draw TB, i dont think we will change our approach even though i think we should because Davey is set in stone..
02 Nov 2025 12:19:38
A draw is the least we want, 3 points for me tomorrow anyone can beat anyone.
02 Nov 2025 12:36:08
Sunderland's bubble has to burst sometime and why not by us. They are not prolific scorers and, even our shaky defence might just hold them. A draw definitely, but with some innovation by Moyes, a win.
02 Nov 2025 13:04:09
As long as we can score a few, we should be alright. I’m going 1-2 to us.
02 Nov 2025 13:24:22
Depends if we use our tactic of sitting back and letting them dictate the game. I would like to see:
Grealish and Ndiaye out wide and Alcaraz playing a false 9.
Have KDH Rohl Gana in midfield and put Garner at right back.
Move O'Brien into centre of defence for Tarks.
Won't happen I know but it would be worth a shot.
02 Nov 2025 13:48:32
I think we’ll get a win tomorrow. 3-1. Ndayie to score.
02 Nov 2025 14:50:41
I like that JB.
02 Nov 2025 15:23:51
I think we lose tomorrow, they have a good defence, a good few athletes in their team and a very underrated Xhaka who will dictate everything.
I want us to win, but can’t see anything but a comfortable Sunderland win. Unless Moyes makes some changes.
02 Nov 2025 22:33:56
Unfortunately can’t see Moyes changing much and due to that can’t see us getting anything from the game.
Not sure what he’s doing but persisting with his lineups and tactics the way he is isn’t going to miraculously change results for us.
From starting the season with promise it just all appears to have gone stale - early days i know but Moyes appears to be reverting to how he was towards end of time with us.
Will be interesting to see how things pan out as the new owners won’t be swayed by sentiment they want results and performances.
03 Nov 2025 04:38:07
I would take that Moyes. Consistent top 10.
02 Nov 2025 07:39:02

01 Nov 2025 19:26:44
See Spurs are taking throw ins a lot quicker tonight for some reason?♂️.
01 Nov 2025 19:36:18
Losing 3-0 to this team is an embarrassment, they are shocking.
02 Nov 2025 11:27:51
Agreed. We lost because we can't defend corners and we can't score goals, it's not rocket science and if we continue playing the same way we will lose again when we should have won or at least got a draw.
02 Nov 2025 11:28:11
Chelsea keeper came for every ball, didn’t miss a thing. People saying we got beat by a really good side might want to have a rethink now.
02 Nov 2025 12:02:41
It's simple, we lost because of moyes.
02 Nov 2025 13:47:11
You’re right, that is a very simplistic view.
02 Nov 2025 14:53:18
Spot on Skylark.
02 Nov 2025 22:00:35
Yeah, as just points out, that's the simplistic view of someone who openly dislikes the manager. Of course, he has to shoulder the blame as much as those who didn't defend corners (two of which were almost identical but caused mayhem in our box) as well as forwards who can't find the onion bag. That pesky Davey Moyes eh.
03 Nov 2025 10:58:08
Last time I looked he was the manager. He has the power to change the way we are playing, be that subs or tactics. So yes the result is down to the manager.
01 Nov 2025 16:31:35
Getting dragged into a fight at the moment results against us. DM and his staff need to do some serious thinking about where our goals are going to come from, Jan cannot come soon enough.
01 Nov 2025 17:48:12
And people said all we needed was Richarlison to get into Europe ?.
01 Nov 2025 17:56:32
Just don't understand the hype with richarlison. Maybe someone could enlighten me/ maybe i need specsavers but he just seems theatrical and spends a lot of the time on the floor.
01 Nov 2025 19:13:23
Yes he goes down too easy, but have you forgotten the rest already?
01 Nov 2025 19:23:13
He would be a massive asset to the Team, I for one hope we can get him in Jan excellent player.
01 Nov 2025 19:28:15
Watching him now, nowhere near the player we had and certainly not a 9. But Spurs haven't given him anything to go for in this game. N Jackson scored for Bayern.
01 Nov 2025 19:36:58
He’s lost a yard of pace, always injured, no confidence.
He’s not the player he was, that’s apparent for anyone who’s watched him since he left us.
01 Nov 2025 20:48:53
For me we need to have a good look at Dju for january window. Quick, strong and knows where the net is. Surely can't be any worse than our current front 2.
02 Nov 2025 11:19:22
Not what all the pundits were saying at the beginning the season, he was getting all the plaudits. I wouldn’t be surprised if his yard of pace returned in a blue shirt.
02 Nov 2025 12:08:05
He more than likely regrets joining spurs, haven’t we been here before;)
02 Nov 2025 12:21:26
Agree JB this heart in not at Spurs c'mon home Richy.
02 Nov 2025 13:27:20
Not really convinced that this is the direction we should be going. Watched him in the second half yesterday, and he got bullied by the Chelsea defenders. Lacks a bit of pace now too. Has to be better players out there for the price.
02 Nov 2025 22:02:18
Can't see it being anything other than a loan move, if we even did go. down that road, BB. At this moment, I'd take that but only because I'd have more faith for. him to grab a few goals than I do with our current crop of forwards right now.
