Have read that Tim Cahill is being offerred an executive position at the club, but don't know when. With Graeme Sharpe on the board I wonder how much influence they would have in new appointments, especially as more in touch with playing than other board members.

Get Brands back to the club,

If desire to have ex employee as manager get Moyes back to bring some stability to the club and return to The Peoples club image.

Brian21

1.) 17 Jan 2022 14:59:03
If Cahill joins the board they would probably be a better side the the first 11.

2.) 17 Jan 2022 14:59:40
It's is mental that brands has been given the boot reportedly because he and Rafa couldn't work together then a few weeks later Rafa gone as well.

3.) 17 Jan 2022 15:25:05
should on the coaching staff showing these lot how to head a ball from a set piece am i right he scored more headers than scoring with his feet throughout his career.

4.) 17 Jan 2022 16:25:19
What's brands actually done since he came in? Fair enough their disagreement may have been the tipping point, but do we actually think he's done well? I know a lot of people will say he never had control due to moshiri and his advisors but brands has to take some blame there. He's sat taking a good pay check for years whilst letting everything go over his head.

{Ed025's Note - fair point cropper..

5.) 17 Jan 2022 17:09:28
Don’t remember hearing a single positive thing on here about Brands in the last year. We can be happy with Rafa leaving without rewriting history. Brands has been culpable for far longer than Rafa was.

{Ed025's Note - all of them have been JB, from the board to the fans and everyone inbetween mate..

6.) 17 Jan 2022 18:03:08
Everton has been a cushy number for Players, Managers and Brands to be honest. Not much responsibility, just expect to do the bare minimum for mid-table mediocrity. The rubbish has only hit the fan because we are close to the relegation positions. The whole attitude at the club from Board members to the tea-lady has to change otherwise we will end up another Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday. I hope someone like Tim Cahill does come in, his type of attitude is what is needed.

7.) 17 Jan 2022 18:13:08
Well I did not type "rubbish" but the word that comes from "Ship High In Transit".

8.) 17 Jan 2022 20:03:36
Brands was never allowed to do his job fully. But on the other hand, he never challenged Moshiri’s decisions so I doubt him returning will change the situation.

We are up a creak without a paddle….

9.) 17 Jan 2022 21:11:18
Our transfer woes started the minute we appointed a DoF in my opinion. Millions upon millions wasted by the two of them. I'd rather we let the manager bring in his own players again, see if it actually works out.

05 Dec 2021 10:10:31
We have read the speculation about Arsenal interest in DCL.
To add to the list Now read that
Rafa is open to letting Pickford leave to Spurs for £30m. Ridiculous low price when the club need money. £50-£60m.

Also the owner interested in Mourinho as manager if Rafa leaves.

Also Everton interested in signing Eden Hazard.

No doubt more speculative stories will emerge. I would think there may be some truth behind the first two stories.

Brian21

1.) 05 Dec 2021 11:14:49
Jose isn't doing well at Roma and is moaning about his lack of squad depth there. I'm sure he'd love to come to Everton to dip his hands into the toolkit of mainly spanners.

2.) 05 Dec 2021 11:41:33
Well if that happens then the man will definitely be living up to his agent Rafa tag.

3.) 05 Dec 2021 12:10:36
Hope rumours are wrong. Pickford is a liability st times but not eorth selling st 30 million. As for moriniho surely its old rumours, hope rafa gets jan transfer window at least, no more big name manager.

4.) 05 Dec 2021 12:20:48
Self perpetuating guff cycle. RIP sports journalism hello agenda blogger.

03 Nov 2021 09:09:24
I've read that big Dunc is shortlisted for the Stockport County job. Whether he has been approached or applied or just press speculation I don't know. Odds 5/ 1 I saw.

Brian21

1.) 03 Nov 2021 21:31:10
Do him good to go on his own.

2.) 04 Nov 2021 12:55:20
I'd like to see him cut his teeth somewhere else, if only to see how he gets on being the man in charge properly. Dunc needs the experience before being considered for the so called 'bigger' jobs. If the rumour is true, I wish him all the best.

10 Jun 2021 16:45:06
I see on Everton rumours now site the club approaching Pelligrini.

Brian21

{Ed025's Note - i really hope not brian..

1.) 10 Jun 2021 17:12:11
Media getting ridiculous now Just waiting for Curbishly Joe Royle and Alex Ferguson to be linked next.

2.) 10 Jun 2021 17:32:24

What is everyone's thoughts on the absence of Sigurdison this season had on the performances . His delivery from set pieces has been missed but would we still be in this situation if he had been available.?

Brian21

1.) 30 Apr 2022 20:06:14
What does it matter?
He wasn’t available, we are in this position, irrelevant to speculate if would have been different with him available.

2.) 30 Apr 2022 20:16:13
Digne went and we dropped to bits. Also failure to shore up the RB position.

3.) 30 Apr 2022 20:16:16
Possibly not. He also provided goals,

4.) 30 Apr 2022 22:32:16
Sorry but neither would have made much difference. Micky is doing really well and Siggy was poor even when he was picked.

This is directed at any playing staff who may read these pages.
If Everton FC are relegated from the Premiership at the end of this season, make a note that your lack of effort has contributed to it. When you drive round in you Lamborghini, top of the range Range Rovers, Rolls Royces etc, picking up tens of thousands pounds per week in wages, please spare a thought for those non playing staff at Everton who may loose their jobs, have no option to sign on the dole. Notice is said 'picking' when it should be earning.
To Pickford and Godfrey, not always to blame for the situation, but having been relegated with previous clubs, surely you don't want a repeat on your cv as you have many playing days ahead of you.

To Michael Keene, Dominic Calvert Lewin, you are or were England international players, get a grip of yourselves and pull your fingers out and do the job for what you are well paid for. That is stop mistakes at the back and score goals at the front.

To Alex Iwobi, show us all a performance so we can understand why the club paid over 30m for your services from Arsenal.

To Mason Holgate you have too many mistakes in your play and commit too many fouls. You need to improve your on field discipline and concentration. You are young enough to get to the England squad if you take notice.

To Richarlison and Gordon, thanks for all your efforts, pity your team mates don't do the same. Let's see some goals from open play.

To Sigurdsonn, you have not played this season. If you have received your contracted wages during this period would you not regain some respect by making a donation to the club charity.

To Deli Ali, why not ask yourself why you are no longer in the England squad, and not a first choice team player.

To Frank Lampard, you say a lot about what you see in training. Why not base your selection on what you see on the pitch in games, ie if not performing drop them. The fans can see it why can't you.

You all have some of the most knowledgable and supportive fans in the Country and it's time you repaid them for that support. Always remember never take out more than you put in.

BRIAN21 what a great post.

3.) 08 Apr 2022 17:34:45
I vote Brian does the pre match gee up in the changing room.

4.) 08 Apr 2022 22:04:05
Look at where Newcastle are now. Couple of quid wisely spent and 9 points clear of us. Oh to swap their 3 months for our 4 years.

5.) 09 Apr 2022 09:49:53
Newcastle hired correctly in Eddie Howe and he’s an Everton fan . He done wonders with Bournemouth and I’m certain he’ll do the same with Newcastle.

{Ed001's Note - wonders? You mean like when he put Burnley into near-bankruptcy leaving Dyche to pick up the pieces and rescue the club from going into administration? Or when he spent Bournemouth into a black hole financially that should have, by the Championship's own rules, seen them docked points, but they failed to act. The guy is a cheque book manager, nothing wonderous about what he did, he bought his way into the Prem and spent ridiculous amounts of money to go back down again twice. And it is him who jumped ship on Burnley as he said it was "too far north" for him. Amazing how that doesn't seem to be a problem at Newcastle with their huge funds.}

6.) 09 Apr 2022 10:21:38
The guys doing very well ED001 and yes he done wonders at Bournemouth. No one would have predicted Bournemouth to play in the premiership let alone stay there for 4,5 years. He’s now starting to have the similar success at Newcastle. Managers spend money mate look at our past 5 lol, at least his teams play for him and do something. If he’s a ‘cheque book manager’ then we should have got him a few year back rather than waste hundreds of millions on a load of crap.

{Ed001's Note - no one would have predicted? Utter nonsense, anyone that knew the game knew their Russian oligarch would fund their stay after he spent ridiculous sums to get them up the first time and then spent heavily again when they got relegated. Similar success at Newcastle? You mean they can't defend and are wasting lots of money on players they don't actually need while ignoring the huge gaps in their squad? And, if you knew anything about him, rather than this ludicrous fantasy you have built up in your head, you would know that even he admits he is so bad in the transfer market that he actually abdicated all responsibility for transfer for Bournemouth.}

7.) 09 Apr 2022 11:23:54
You don’t like Eddy Howe then Ed001.
No fantasy in my head my friend just a difference of opinion that’s all. You’ve only got to listen to the people around him to realise he does a good job as a manager. He’s been brought in as Newcastle manager and has had a positive effect, he’s doing what they’re paying him to do which you can hardly say about our past two managers.

{Ed001's Note - so we should all listen to his mates then? And what positive effect has he had rather than it being down to being able to spend enormous sums and being rid of the prick who used to own them?}

8.) 09 Apr 2022 14:01:50
No I actually let his performance as a manager do the talking Ed001, he’s done very well at Bournemouth (however much he’s spent) and has started very well at Newcastle too.

{Ed001's Note - if you are not taking into account how much they spend, then how can you judge how well they have done? If your managers hadn't spent hundreds of millions, instead they spent nothing, then you would think they had done not so bad.}

04 Apr 2022 15:57:50
It's not a good signal to the players to see the managers head drop when things go wrong. He's got to keep his chin up and urge them on.

Second half we had a corner on the right. Centre backs went up and what did they do, they took a short corner, played back to the corner taker who then crossed. Flagged for being offside. Schoolboys perform better. Think it was Kenny and Grey dealing with it. No excuse.

1.) 04 Apr 2022 16:53:49
Grandson's Team played an unbeaten one on Sunday. They (unbeaten one) were/ are a good footballing side and remained unbeaten because Teams were afraid to run them down. Sunday they got beat by an equally good footballing side but one that was also prepared to run the opposition down denying them space. Everton have some good players but refuse to put the effort in on game day.

{Ed025's Note - can you ferry them down to turf moor on Wednesday DFS? And tell them to bring their boots..

2.) 04 Apr 2022 18:26:15
As you know Ed025 once they reach 7 years old many fall off scouts radar. As for Turf Moor, Grandson turned to the darkside couple of days after walking out with Jags against Young Boys, so no chance.

{Ed025's Note - pity that mate..

3.) 04 Apr 2022 20:55:03
Cities full of red and blue under same roof LOL, why we need these forums!

01 Feb 2022 14:19:10
Quite confident the doom and gloom is a thing of the past.
As Mr Moshiri has said he has to be more patient and asks for the fans to be likewise.

I also hope we see a different display from Michael Keene if and when selected, and if the new signings hit the ground running Goodison will be rocking again.

Remember Frank Lampard knows the way to Wembley.

Can only get better but may be some hiccups along the way.

Brian21

1.) 01 Feb 2022 19:11:11
Michael Keane needs binning off.

2.) 01 Feb 2022 19:46:49
Agree he is atrocious.

3.) 01 Feb 2022 21:03:19
Hope we never see Keane again.

18 Jan 2022 18:14:40
Why not make another attempt for Graham Potter with bringing his DOF with him.

Brian21

{Ed025's Note - hes already ruled himself out im afraid brian..

1.) 18 Jan 2022 18:24:10
No means no.

2.) 18 Jan 2022 18:41:29
And when my ex wife said it she meant it!

{Ed025's Note - love it nick..

3.) 18 Jan 2022 22:07:00
Mine takes no notice when I say it! Nor my Kids and Grand Kids.

4.) 19 Jan 2022 00:29:13
Of course Potter has said no publicly. He has to. Might be a different question if we officially approached him.

Ed, would he have wanted to leave if we had a different manager? Didn’t he sign a new contract last year so he must have been happy at that point.

Brian21

{Ed025's Note - im not sure to be honest brian, but if a player..any player, does not want to play for the club there is nothing we can do, they are just transient employees in the end and we take the money and reinvest it for someone who does mate..

My view is that if all these commentators / pundits were so knowledgable about the game, why didn’t they take up coaching or managerial positions. Or is it an easier lifestyle for them.

Was only thinking while watching last nights match if Everton had midfielders like Souness, Toy Keane and Peter Ried in their prime playing today how different it would be.

Brown shoes agree exactly, that’s where most of the problems started when they sold Lukaku and not bringing in a quality replacement.

Dan, fully agree.
I wonder if DCL has already been affected by the press linking him to various clubs in the summer, but need to keep the best players.
Priority is to advance up the league, but the FA Cup draw has been kind so far for the club and Frank certainly knows his way to Wembley, so fingers crossed if it could happen.

All the above post speak well in support of Bill. I must add that as far as I am aware he has always whenever possible tried to support his selected manager in the transfer market. Hope he’s around for a long time. Perhaps something at the new ground could be named after him in recognition of his work for the club.
