Congratulations to pickford, now holding the record for the most clean sheets in tournament football, surpassing the great Peter Shilton! . One silver lining out of an awful boring match!

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2024 07:25:47
Yep I fully retract my earlier statement on England and us putting in a good performance after all the negativity.

That was truly awful and so boring to watch.

26 Jun 2024 11:13:46
I even said to the missus before the match it will finish 0.0 to drop trent for Gallagher to me makes no sence trent should be starting rb regardless but i honestly think GS is not only scared to change the team before kick off its the case for late substitutions aswell we could have Holland sunday not going to be easy and after watching us these 3 matches i fancy the dutch to knock us out hope am wrong though.

26 Jun 2024 15:30:26
Agree on Trent at RB Andy, slot Walker in at CB, play stones in midfield if needs be, to would like seen Mainoo start instead of Gallagher.

Palmer strong claims start next game too.

It was all so very pedestrian, Kane doesn't look right to me said this in first game, ideal time to rested him ABIT last night and gave Watkins or Toney a run out.

Holland not been great either and think might suit us as need teams to come at us to try hit them in spaces and counter because it's evident last 3 games we struggle against defensive units and lack that killer pass.

26 Jun 2024 15:59:29
Yeh I think they'll beat us. Unless he's brave enough to make some changes. Can't believe we're here and he still doesn't know his best team. Seems scared to change things too early. Needs to be ruthless! Anthony Gordon on at around 85 mins. What is the point!

26 Jun 2024 02:16:57
Like the direction of our signings. young with potential (and with sell on value. much better than hearing of our links to what are called "fringe players" which means other clubs have beens and rejects.
especially United's!

25 Jun 2024 14:44:42
Hopefully with these new players coming we will change from just 1 striker up front, if DCL does stay he will get the service he has been missing, personally I would let DCL go, last year of his contract we can still get a decent fee for him.

{Ed025's Note - i hope he stays myself GB and signs a new contract..

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Jun 2024 15:05:19
Yep me too Ed. ?.

{Ed025's Note - i just think getting better service and support would really enhance his game Mocker, i think at times last season he was frustrated and disillusioned with the lack of quality around him mate, with the new signings and possibly more to come it might just convince him that the future is blue and that the club is going places...come on Dom...you know it makes sense..

25 Jun 2024 15:39:08
Ancelotti knows his sh#t. Need to play him with a pair, or close attacking midfielder to support, and for God's sake stop gim chasing the channels as takes him away from where he needs to be and is trying to get back to where he should be in the first place. Surely the Attacking Midfielders need to break the line and cross for DCL in the vox where he can terrorise the Centre-backs. If you told him this was the tactic I'm sure he'd sign on again, he wants ambition from the club, as he wants to play the World Cup.

25 Jun 2024 15:24:00
He will go for free next year Ed money is tight and £37 million I would take that mate not his fault but so injury prone.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think we will get anywhere near that sort of money for him GB because of that, thats why i would keep him mate..

25 Jun 2024 17:47:10
The problem with DCL is not how good or bad he is, you just can't trust he won't stay injury free
Just not worth the risk having no striker again . Just sell him and move on.

25 Jun 2024 17:50:29
£25 million was what. Newcastle we’re offering apparently I thought that was good especially if we had Minteh in return, it might not be over yet reports saying the deal could be back on mate.

25 Jun 2024 18:47:33
Where's the £37 million been reported GB?

They were never offering Minteh plus £25million GB was they?

Reports say Newcastle value Minteh at £30 million plus, hence why we walked away

£25 million is a good deal admittedly if doesn't sign contract.

25 Jun 2024 20:19:37
I read that Newcastle walked away because Everton valued DCL at £37 million and Newcastle valued him at £25 million, now reading Newcastle will probably come back for DCL before Sunday, maybe usual paper rubbish eh mate.

25 Jun 2024 21:42:20
Yeah could see and hear it in some of post match interviews with him.

Albeit not an out and out striker he poses a threat to opposition and brilliant at holding up and in air, we definitely were not playing to his strengths last season mate, with decent service he can get us 15 goals if injury free along with quite a few assists and pre assists.

Only concern is the contract, we can't be going into season him not signed up. Let's hope he signs up ed and gets his chance to lead the line in our top drawer stadium.

26 Jun 2024 03:34:23
Never believe what the papers say. If Dom is moving to Newcastle we won't have a clue until the clubs announce it.

I wonder if we've considered a loan move for Jack Grealish. I think Pep is looking to move him on so maybe a cheeky enquiry?

ManUtd are hoping that PSR will force us to sell Branthwaite on the cheap before Sundays deadline. If there is one club and its ethos I detest, it's them.

26 Jun 2024 08:24:29
He is on about £270k a week mate. Not a chance he is coming to us. McNeil is better anyway.

25 Jun 2024 10:48:22
First, Richard Masters turns the best league in the world, into the Richard Masters handicap league, and now under his protection of the so called 'big six', he is forcing clubs into Arthur Daley type dodgy deals to escape his insane pursuit of clubs outside of the protected 'big six' monopoly group.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2024 19:04:46
It's called PSR. Persecute the smaller riff-raff is his motto.

{Ed025's Note - love it Smit..

25 Jun 2024 08:14:33
Dan Meis appears to have created a Master Piece with BMD. it looks amazing in Mr Drones latest video.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jun 2024 09:20:51
Agree, it's absolutely stunning. I particularly like watching the drone footage when the builders are working on site. Seems every week something new pops up.

25 Jun 2024 13:01:33
Fantastic stadium and at the right time, lookout Premier league we are coming.

25 Jun 2024 13:16:02
It's been the only light in this tunnel for months for me fellas. . . Absolutely magnificent .

25 Jun 2024 22:27:20
Part of me will greatly miss the old lady though. Anyone have an idea when tickets will go on sale for first game of season?

24 Jun 2024 21:19:33
Everton no longer under pressure to sell anyone- Daily Telegraph

Can’t see how this is right/ accurate…. I await Ed02’s damming analysis (which is normally Bob on! )

{Ed002's Note - I understand there is still a little work to do.}

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jun 2024 08:56:48
Anyone fancy a cheeky bid for Beto, Holgate or Maupay? Anyone?

25 Jun 2024 22:27:44
You missed out Keane.

The England Football Team Have Two Problems

24 Jun 2024 07:39:10
{Ed's Note - Shappy has posted a new article entitled, The England Football Team Have Two Problems

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2024 07:50:31
Not read the full post as surely the two problems are Gareth and Southgate?

All these amazing players at his disposal and he manages to get it so wrong.

24 Jun 2024 09:19:02
Yes he gets it wrong so badly everytime, but just imagine what a Pep Giuidiola could do with this bunch and generation of young players and talent, will be interesting to see who the FA appoint after calamity Gareth leaves his post shortly!

24 Jun 2024 09:35:49
Tend to agree, but don't think it's just Gareth, we have had some cracking squad and first 11 over past 30 years but for whatever reason we can't get over the line, definitely a mentality thing.

He is our most successful England manager of recent times, which says alot.

In terms of England and Euro's, I see the negativity sparking us, think we may see a good performance tomorrow and a different England in knockouts.

24 Jun 2024 12:02:51
Sorry your being a bit harsh on GS as he said he hasn't had Kalvin Philips were a Pep has! KP makes a massive difference, just by having his name on the roster has made a significant impact to Peps MC team!

24 Jun 2024 14:17:40
Think that sums up that post as what ed has posted great reading asalways have to agree with dan in my opinion GS sets up negative tactics i don't know what's worse harry kane saying the team don't know how to press or GS saying were missing kalvin Phillips think its laughable we go a goal up and instead of chasing a second goal we sit off and let the opposition attack us same against Croatia in world cup go goal up we panicked an loose and then again against Italy in final go goal up and sit back and loose Luke shaw shoudnt never been called up while injured phil foden shoudnt be on the left and i do like trent and i have no doubt he can play in midfield for liverpool but the way southgate is picking him there i have no idea why southgate has only one tactic we get a goal we put 10 behind ball and if he does get sacked which personally he deserves to the only 2 manager's who would win something for England and this is my opinion so don't shoot me down is kloop or Guardiola 2 top class managers who during games can see what they need change if liverpool or city are struggling southgate can't in tactics and substitutes when needed i think the English managers have all been yes men to the FA but i know if these 2 ever did get appointment they woudnt be puppets for the fa but that's my view.

24 Jun 2024 15:45:06
Now now, Gareth is doing a grand job and long may it continue. I'm sure I speak on behalf of most Scots, we are big Southgate supporters.

24 Jun 2024 17:43:45
Nice to have your backing Scottish, Steve Clark and co certainly had mine last night.

23 Jun 2024 14:49:50
Can I ask ed02 about this strategy Newcastle, Everton, villa and Chelsea are deploying in overpaying for each others players to beat ffp.

Is it clever business exploiting a loophole or illegal and could teams face problems down the line?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs are not buying players for more money that they are worth. Newcastle have a legitimate interest in two Everton players. There was a lot of interest in Maatsen and Aston Villa paid what Chelsea wanted, and Broussia Dortmund couldn't, to sign one of their players. Chelsea raised the availability of Omari Kellyman during discussions about another player. It is not a strategy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2024 15:18:10
Conspiracy theorists at it again then.

23 Jun 2024 20:37:56
It's not overpaying but it is unprecedented that 2 clubs like Villa and Everton would strike those deals for so called fringe/ backup players before the 30th June. I'm sure that will be evident when both clubs post their end of year accounts.
2 clubs that notoriously do their first team business later in the window have both managed to sign players despite being up against FFP in this financial year. ?.

{Ed025's Note - and 2 fringe players at that Smit, and both for undisclosed fees, and both clubs having PSR issues... it sounds a bit dodgy to me mate..

23 Jun 2024 20:59:52
You got a suspicious mind Ed mate.

{Ed025's Note - and that’s why I’m a big Elvis fan GB.. ?

23 Jun 2024 22:52:24
Not dodgy Ed just a two finger salute to Masters.

{Ed025's Note - that works for me just as well Smit..

24 Jun 2024 12:09:43
I may be way off and this is purely a bystanders view so don't have a go if wrong but, say 10 mill for each player over 5 years 2 mill a year, so this year 8 mill profit for both clubs shows.

Yes I'm aware contracts may be shorter and amounts different but its Purley a guess. Will probably see more of these fringe player type deals over the teams in prem.

{Ed001's Note - if you sell for 10m you don't get 10m. 5% goes to the player sold. Then there is associated costs such as agent fees, which can be obscene these days. Then there is also 5% split between the clubs where he was developed at youth level. Unless a player came completely through Everton's academy system, you would get less than 9m in total. Probably substantially less with taxes and fees coming out of it.}

24 Jun 2024 19:13:28
Cheers for the extra insight ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. It is easy to forget how much comes out of transfer fees. And often clubs will sell the debt on to get ready cash immediately rather than waiting for payments, so lose a large cut of it. Liverpool did that with the Coutinho money from Barcelona, to allow them to spend that summer, and it is very common for clubs to do that. Otherwise you are getting it in dribs and drabs and it often just gets swallowed up in the normal running costs.}

25 Jun 2024 07:40:51
It is easy to get carried away with the huge numbers My work team invoice 300k a month, can I go out and buy a Rolls Royce? No, with the payments I get that month I can get a Ford Cortina and 20 John player special.
Cash flow comes in so slowly as no one has millions sat in the banks waiting to buy stuff.

23 Jun 2024 14:46:23
£60 million bid for Onana has to be a good deal for Everton surely with FFP only a week away, could bring in many from the lower leagues with that amount.

Agree4 Disagree0

24 Jun 2024 09:32:07
You can't "bring in many from the lower leagues with that amount".

One of our biggest problems to deal with is the mammoth wage bill. It urgently needs reducing. So the player (s) brought in using the funds from Onana would need to be on a lower wage/ lower combined wage than Onana was earning.

Too many people are caught up by the initial transfer fee and neglect to factor in the costs of actually paying wages for (x) amount of years which is the real sustainability issue we find ourselves in.

23 Jun 2024 10:19:44
I've never seen him play, what kind of player is he GB? I'm guessing he's pretty good given your enthusiasm?

23 Jun 2024 12:25:23
He’s quick mate would take him any day, young lad with enthusiasm just what Sean needs to start building a new Team.

23 Jun 2024 12:32:18
I just read he very very quick and is abit like Forrest Gump and doesn't stop running a game against ajax he ran twice as many sprints as anyone else on the pitch, and has a good goal and assist record for his age, I think he would be a fantastic option for us.

23 Jun 2024 12:34:41
Never heard of him?

23 Jun 2024 13:05:17
Has anyone actually seen him play? Quick, young and enthusiastic, haven't we got one of them who we are letting Villa hav.

23 Jun 2024 18:18:21
Hes a centre mid that moved up from CD. Dobbin is a wide forward who would suit a 433 which we aren't ever going to play under Dyche.
Personally I don't think Dobbin is prem standard. Is the Villa guy? Who knows but if he is then we have got the better deal.
