We are very short of goals - here is my thought - sign some one who scores goals - he's got 4 in 35 games - is that a step up from Beto?

It's going to cost money but surely it's number one priority - otherwise we are just in for another boring season with no goals

Ali seems to have sorted his head out - if he stays fit I'm hoping he could be a surprise.

His stats for his position are actually quite good, he is available on a free and 27, he is a very good player, linked with higher level teams less than 18 months ago.

Think your confusing him.

We can't address all positions at once and I personally am happy with the direction we are moving and speed and timings on our deals.

Patience. We are at the start of a rebuild.

Not negative just realistic. Free agents don’t come cheap, and at a time when pressure is on to reduce the wage bill I struggle to understand why we would blow a wad on another “freebie”.
And before you say we wouldn’t do that, we are paying Harrison 90k a week, so maybe we haven’t cut our cloth just yet.

I get your concerns Harlex, but a "freebie" is clearly a cheaper alternative to throwing a big transfer at someone as well.

If they improve us then that should be the concern, we have shifted a few on high wages and we don't know what any potential signings salaries are, you would hope they have learnt their lesson as a club. I personally didn't want Harrison back as hoped we may have been able to attract somebody different, 90k is steep but no loan fee and can send back at anytime I believe. We will just need see where we are come end of window pal, we will like we are moving in the right direction to me and like the lot of the names we are linked to. All opinions pal.

Got to say that after all the stresses of the past few seasons that I'm starting to feel pretty optimistic about next season.

Reality seems to be being addressed with the finances. Getting signings in early in time for pre season instead of the usual EFC deadline day stuff has got to be a positive. It would be kamikaze financial management if at least a few of the saleable assets don't get moved on soon, so I am sure deals are almost done. Everton have sold great players in the past and the club has moved on. The fans and the club are a constant.

The other big boost I felt this week was driving down Boundary Street towards BMD. I hadn't seen the new ground close up for a few months other than online. To say it is epic is an understatement. Can't wait.

I even said to the missus before the match it will finish 0.0 to drop trent for Gallagher to me makes no sence trent should be starting rb regardless but i honestly think GS is not only scared to change the team before kick off its the case for late substitutions aswell we could have Holland sunday not going to be easy and after watching us these 3 matches i fancy the dutch to knock us out hope am wrong though.

Agree on Trent at RB Andy, slot Walker in at CB, play stones in midfield if needs be, to would like seen Mainoo start instead of Gallagher.

It was all so very pedestrian, Kane doesn't look right to me said this in first game, ideal time to rested him ABIT last night and gave Watkins or Toney a run out.

Holland not been great either and think might suit us as need teams to come at us to try hit them in spaces and counter because it's evident last 3 games we struggle against defensive units and lack that killer pass.

Hopefully with these new players coming we will change from just 1 striker up front, if DCL does stay he will get the service he has been missing, personally I would let DCL go, last year of his contract we can still get a decent fee for him.

Need to play him with a pair, or close attacking midfielder to support, and for God's sake stop gim chasing the channels as takes him away from where he needs to be and is trying to get back to where he should be in the first place. Surely the Attacking Midfielders need to break the line and cross for DCL in the vox where he can terrorise the Centre-backs. If you told him this was the tactic I'm sure he'd sign on again, he wants ambition from the club, as he wants to play the World Cup.

I read that Newcastle walked away because Everton valued DCL at £37 million and Newcastle valued him at £25 million, now reading Newcastle will probably come back for DCL before Sunday, maybe usual paper rubbish eh mate.

Yeah could see and hear it in some of post match interviews with him.

Albeit not an out and out striker he poses a threat to opposition and brilliant at holding up and in air, we definitely were not playing to his strengths last season mate, with decent service he can get us 15 goals if injury free along with quite a few assists and pre assists.

Only concern is the contract, we can't be going into season him not signed up. Let's hope he signs up ed and gets his chance to lead the line in our top drawer stadium.
