SSN reporting PSG bid 21.5m for Gueye player keen to go personally I don't blame him!

1.) 27 Jan 2019 21:13:22
If the offer was right I would sell if the player wants to go. Seems to low an offer though. Maybe with his age and give us a chance to bring a new midfielder in. A new face may give everyone a lift. I like Gueye and he maybe a player you can get a few years out of like Fernandinho at 34. He’s not a leader though and maybe his replacement might and the balance in midfield could improve. Someone like Doucoure would be advantageous at defending set pieces.

2.) 27 Jan 2019 23:05:35
He’s 29 so £21m is a rubbish offer on market value he is in his prime now.

3.) 27 Jan 2019 23:30:59
Would you bring in a new midfielder now if Gueye went?
Goals is an area to be addressed so I’d move on a striker as we do have Jimmy Mc, Davies and Beni who could step up.

4.) 28 Jan 2019 08:06:17
I can see the logic Southern the problem I can see what striker? Nobody stands out and as we all know January’s not the best time. We don’t want to go out and buy a £20m striker and be same as Tosun. We need top striker and need to pay £60/ 70m. That type of player won’t be available until the summer then we need to convince them we are going somewhere! Easier said than done at the moment.

5.) 28 Jan 2019 11:46:55
Couldn't agree more STB, something I've said before. Posters on here have been crying out for the '20 goals a season man' for a long time. As if such a thing is common everywhere.

Personally I still think our biggest issue is not enough goals/ support from elsewhere.

Bernard, Walcott and to a lesser extent Gomes/ Lookman need to be creating more problems for defenses. With the exception of Richarlison we play like our only plan is to get the ball in the box to a striker. This means defenders can focus on stifling whoever that is, and until the support players get more involved and pose some questions that won't change, no matter who is up front.

Whether that is down to the players or Silva is the question!

6.) 28 Jan 2019 19:28:38
Connor Wickham is back and fit lol.

01 Feb 2018 08:19:01
interesting rumour doing the rounds, According to Calcio Mercato, Everton snubbed a swap proposal from Inter Milan on deadline day, which involved Morgan Schneiderlin and Marcelo Brozovic.

1.) 01 Feb 2018 08:49:51
I'd have taken that all day long.

2.) 01 Feb 2018 15:49:21

3.) 01 Feb 2018 20:14:41
Unless he's the Croatian Schneiderlin.

30 Nov 2017 11:56:01
Find it hard to take some posters snide comments on here although I understand it's a banter site.
Firstly it appears Big Sam is our new permanent manager, that if it true is done!
Hopefully he's the right man to turn our season, however it won't happen overnight.
Let's hope in January Walsh does what he's paid to do and brings some quality fresh talent into the squad!

We had little options available and they've turned to a specialist in reversing our current position.
He has spoken respectfully of the club and it's history and supporters I for one will be right behind him as he is our hope, I understand many peoples resentment and he like many has made a mistake but we all deserve a second chance, it was very costly for him!

We need a win tonight to lift everyone at this great club!

1.) 30 Nov 2017 12:20:50
Good shout mate, we have to live and let live, just get so fed up with some of these snide posts on here mate same as you, i will get behind whoever wants to help our Great Club, end of.

2.) 01 Dec 2017 18:54:32
In my opinion he no more made a mistake than many of us would. If someone approached me while under contract it does not necessarily mean I would not listen to them as indeed he did. Also I would point out I could perhaps be interested in the future but that I and you would have to discuss with my present employers again which is exactly what Sam did and said. It is only the hysteria perpetuated by the media in this Country that fans the fire.

20 Jul 2017 17:56:10
We were linked with Rachid Ghezzal in January I believe he is now a free agent, anyone know if we still have an interest in him?

{Ed002's Note - He has made it clear he has no interest in moving to Everton.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 19:21:22
Reports today Rachid Ghezzal is in talks with Watford.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 19:49:09
He must really dislike Everton if he's interested in Watford rather than us. Good old rumours eh 🤣.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 10:09:25
Contradicts what he said last year then, I remember reading a report that he wanted to join a team playing in Europe, I am sure Watford aren't in Europe!

15 May 2017 15:45:42
Has anyone else seen the leaked pic of the supposed kit with Sportpesa logo?
I do hope its a red herring and not the actual shirt, it looks a training kit!

{Ed007's Note - efckit

1.) 15 May 2017 16:20:30
seen that it's definitely the training kit.

2.) 15 May 2017 16:21:22
Looks more like a training type shirt that.

3.) 15 May 2017 16:34:09
yes strange because the teaser on the website looks to be a lighter blue.

4.) 15 May 2017 17:43:31
To me it looks like the training top for next year guess we will find out tommorrow for sure.

01 Nov 2021 21:27:23
Godfrey bottled a tackle then!
Luckily we got away with it, what's happened to that lad!

{Ed0666's Note - he signed for Everton ?

1.) 01 Nov 2021 22:11:24
Don’t think he has fully recovered from C.V. mate. Last season he was our fittest player. Tonight he looked gassed after an hour.

{Ed025's Note - he has been awful woburn, long covid?, benefit of the doubt...but for how long?..

2.) 01 Nov 2021 22:19:08
Don’t know Ed. But before he got it he was superb and had energy to burn. Looked gassed by the hour and his concentration levels were poor. Can’t just be a dip in form mate.

{Ed025's Note - he was excellent last season woburn so thats why im giving him some slack, but there has to be some improvement mate..

3.) 01 Nov 2021 22:36:49
Something has hit him hard. This C.V. is serious rubbish if you are one of the unlucky ones. Next door neighbour fit as a fiddle but obviously a vulnerability somewhere. Oxygen dependent at the moment, scan showed blackened lungs, that is how bad it is. So yeah Godfrey may well be back to soon.

4.) 01 Nov 2021 21:33:36
I really need ed0666 ?.

{Ed0666's Note - get in line mate there’s a host of people seeking my services

17 Oct 2021 20:50:37
Hearing the booing at the final whistle made me think that fans expectations are not really incorrect and that the booing should be aimed at the hierarchy that have made so many bad decisions over the past few years that have put us in this position, DOF's that I can see little improvement from constant manager changes and constantly funding the purchase of sub standard players.
Two key players missing today would have been a different game but no strength in depth again, no youngsters seemingly not worth the risk of playing when so called seniors were so poor!

1.) 17 Oct 2021 22:01:40
Not sure why but as usual a couple of good games most fans have us as world beaters, also we more than any know how a moyes team works, so rafa had to go with experience over youth, we got beat by a set piece that where bad at defending, against a team who ain't to bad at them, can't see what anyone sees in iwobi guys useless Gordon should have started, but I don't pick the team, we spent just under 2 mill and are in a financial mess, with our 2 best players missing, rafa has his work cut out but he needs time to sort this mess out not boos.

2.) 18 Oct 2021 09:32:25
I think the booing was because everyone could see certain players were giving nothing, and all they wanted was to see changes being made. Now if those changes don't work then fine, but at least you have tried. Yesterday we had two players (we all know who they were) who contributed absolutely nothing. Yes we had young players on the bench, but if nothing else they would have brought a bit of energy into the game.

3.) 18 Oct 2021 12:35:33
we are similar to hammers, but they had their best 11 out we didnt, i think we will improve.

23 Sep 2021 09:32:14
BBC sport football website has a video Rodriguez best premier league moments, it lasts 38 seconds!

1.) 23 Sep 2021 11:36:43
And it includes the intro.

2.) 23 Sep 2021 19:46:22
Still it's 38 times longer than Iwobi's.

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..

22 Sep 2021 09:33:44
I was at the game last night and won't go on about individual performances but it was not good!
However my real issue is our lack of young player development, I see Citeh and Liverpool playing young academy players apart from Anthony Gordon who had a decent game nothing and I felt sorry for Simms sitting on the bench watching Rondon labour with no result for 90 mins!

1.) 22 Sep 2021 09:51:43
Yeah I felt sorry for Simms as well. If he didn't get a game yesterday when will he get a game? Personally I thought Rondon was awful, not that he did anything bad, apart from sky it about 10 yards over the bar from 4 or 5 yards, but just that he did nothing. He wasn't involved in the game at all. He's to slow and cumbersome, if he's not match fit then fine, but to be that unfit he shouldn't be playing.

2.) 22 Sep 2021 10:09:21
He's come from 3rd rate football in the middle east to the premier league, but seriously this club of ours is showing so many signs of mismanagement, and too many bad judgement calls regarding recruitment! which again makes me ask the question about Brands contribution? If Moise Kean is an example then the whole thing is a farce!

3.) 22 Sep 2021 11:14:22
Good post Wakka. Did you see the looks on Bill Kenwright when Sky put the camera on him. Could have turned milk sour.

4.) 22 Sep 2021 11:27:42
I think he is unfit. I think Rafa is getting him match fit.
He’s a decent player actually when fit - I think he’ll get 10+ Goals this season.

5.) 22 Sep 2021 12:14:00
I agree Sobs Bill K is unfit, but 10 goals a season. ??.

6.) 22 Sep 2021 14:57:51
Rondo is clearly not fit but did work hard so at least he's got a decent work ethic.

7.) 22 Sep 2021 16:26:49
Very funny lhrblue - I’d love to see Kenrights celebration if he scored 1 mind.
I think he’s a top bloke myself and think he’s been a true blue - maybe he’s a bit out his depth but I don’t think we can knock him.

8.) 22 Sep 2021 17:48:05
Rondon is the wrong side of 30, there’s a reason he went to play in a weak league.

9.) 22 Sep 2021 19:57:06
Please don't compare us to city and Liverpool. We are nowhere near their quality and squad. It's easy to throw a few in when you have the quality they have.
We just aren't in a position to blood them as the majority of our squad players are terrible.
Iwobi had most fooled for a couple of games but now he's back to being dreadful.
Anyone who watched us last season knows Davies and Gomes can't be played together and neither can Godfrey and Holgate.

01 Sep 2021 09:34:45
If Rafa took this job knowing that many Evertonians were anti him, and knowing the financial state of the club, then you must admire the mettle of this man, his passion and determination to succeed against the odds, perhaps he will be the best signing the club has made this year!

1.) 01 Sep 2021 11:07:20
Pretty sure he would have known exactly where the club stood before taking the job. But then it's not like clubs were queuing up to employ him either. Think both club and manager got a good deal.

Spot on Ed025 a few small minded so called fans need to support the man in the chair not try and upset the team.

Maybe the anti Rafa brigade will start to notice he's getting a tune out of players that have been poor in the past!
He will need time to change it to how he wants so let's remain patient and see how things transpire!

JB not really but it shows the gap between the elite top 4 and the rest when it comes to buying and selling.

Issue is two players with values £30m no one wants to buy! But they have skills that the team needs above that of other players, we seem unable to bring better quality in so it seems the club is at a standstill in respect to incoming players!
I would question what Brands is currently bring to the table was he not behind the signing of Kean?

The squad strength is not Rafa's fault however he would have been aware of it before taking the job.
The blame game is unimportant given our current predicament, however Rafa does need to rethink his tactics and maybe some of his playing choices.
I was always told the definition of madness was to continue doing something the same, but expecting a different result!
Rondon is just not up to it, yesterday his positional sense was poor and even with the extra pressure in the second half we created little!
Two youngsters and Tosun on the bench! c'mon we have to take that risk sooner rather than later!

{Ed025's Note - he does not think simms or dobbin are to to it wakka, but surely they would be more effective than rondon mate who offers nothing, at least the would give us enthusiasm..

By the very fact we have fallen foul of FFP then the Board must take the blame, poor management of the clubs business, they are also the ones that recruit the manager and sanction player purchases!
All those BK haters that criticised in the Moyes era need to look again and realise that wishing for a wealthy owner may not always be the best answer!

Moyes did bring us stability, he also brought in a lot of players better than we currently have and all with very limited funds available!
Look at the money this club has squandered since Moyes departed, it would have been interesting to see where he could have taken us then?

Good post Ant, difficult to disagree with it, however we wanted a rich owner and have one but what is most disappointing in him is that with his experience at Arsenal he has made so many bad appointments and let managers waste millions on poor players that have not been fully fit and constantly are injured, many that are just NOT good enough, we have paid to much for them and are then stuck with them weighing down our wage bill.
First Walsh now Brands neither seem to have brought anything to the club in terms of young player development, and lastly our U23's is not providing any real talent to step up to the first team!
