23 Apr 2016 21:14:40
we are supposedly interested in Michael Carrick, I didn't hear his name mentioned by a commentator once today.
1.) 24 Apr 2016 01:14:05
Funny.I thought the same about our player McCarthy. Didn't realise he was playing.
08 Jun 2015 19:52:54
Just heard Monaco are after mirallas. Lennon is trying to force a move through and saying he won't play for spurs again and supposedly del boy is on his way back.
1.) 08 Jun 2015 20:40:11
Could live with that Lennon a decent player and Del Boy is s player who I would have back tomorrow think he has the potential to be a class player in the right hands
2.) 08 Jun 2015 20:56:19
I'd be happy with that to be honest.

New name of the stadium isn't great. But it's giving us an extra few quid so not complaining.
1.) 16 May 2025 20:13:52
Were all looking forward to heading down Dickie, right lads and lasses?
2.) 16 May 2025 21:06:23

3.) 16 May 2025 22:12:17

I read recently that because of the 8 points we were deducted last season, it cost us 3 positions in the final league table. This in turn cost us 7.2 million pound as every position higher in the league generates 2.4 million. So with var ultimately making mistakes like yesterday, that potentially cost us an additional 2 points and minus a point for utd. This at the end of the season could potentially cost us millions again. I know we are not the only team who suffer from var, but it is not only the time it takes to make decisions, the fact it keeps making wrong decisions, using wrong video angles, it genuinely could be costing clubs millions of pounds. I think it should be scrapped. I can get over a ref making a mistake or a linesman not giving offside as it happens in real time, but to have all the video angles and still take so long and then come up with the wrong outcome is madness. I can't and won't be convinced that it is not corrupt. At the end of the season if utd finish ahead of us by a point, and it costs us 2.4 million, a letter of apology from the pgmol is not suffice. Its time to scrap it once and for all. People say it takes time for the technology to work its been given long enough and simply does not work.
1.) 23 Feb 2025 12:17:39
The Clubs voted to keep it.
2.) 23 Feb 2025 14:22:05
I know but I don't underatand why. It would be interesting to see if a poll was taken by all premier league managers, who would like to see the back of it, the same with players. And fans, I'd imagine the majority would get rid of it.
{Ed025's Note - well i would vote it out Ray..
3.) 23 Feb 2025 15:45:53
Because your intelligent like me ed.
{Ed025's Note - spot on Ray ?..
4.) 23 Feb 2025 16:43:24
For me it has spoilt the occasion of scoring a goal and celebrating. First thought now after scoring is VAR.
I was in favour of it at the beginning, but now would love to see it scrapped and we just accept refs decisions both good and bad.
5.) 23 Feb 2025 18:28:17
I agree it cost us but on the flip side how many goals have been chalked off for off side that weren't given, like it or not but the refs these days would be useless with out VAR.
6.) 23 Feb 2025 18:32:50
WTF has intelligence got to do with it. Commonsense is the word I would use.
7.) 23 Feb 2025 18:50:38
Let's scrap offsides. Be an interesting experiment ?.
8.) 24 Feb 2025 09:06:12
Why can't VAR be run by AI? You would get the correct decision within minutes, and wouldn't have the ref being swayed by some knobhead on looking at the screen.
9.) 24 Feb 2025 14:46:44
It was Frank Lampards goal at the WC where it really ramped up the call for it - it was needed . But then it was only to be used for things like that . To stop ridiculous goals being given/ not given . That’s what it should be used for and maybe some dodgy tackles and semi automated offsides, everything else it should be scrapped for as it’s causing way too much grief by getting involved in everything! I’d even give in to giving each team 2 VAR calls like tennis if they genuinely think the ref has got it wrong. But it just to damn involved all the time.
10.) 24 Feb 2025 15:29:26
The frustrating thing is the way it is used. Drawing lines for the standing foot should be easy enough and that’s the best way to judge an offside. All this elbow, arms, nose being in front of the attacker just makes a mockery of the offside rule.
In rugby, the TMO can draw something to the ref’s attention. It’s put on the big screen and the ref can request different angles. The ref is in control. They have their microphone on and explain their decision based on the law of the game. It’s simple.
Football seems to misuse it. Decisions are made (sometimes badly) and no reasons given for some decisions where the logic suggests something else. It is just daft. Sometimes they get it right but other times, it is ridiculous.
Where’s the fun in the game when VAR seems to be used by incompetent people to make illogical decisions?

Big respect for Jags at the end of last night's match on tnt sports. Asking how Salah got man of the match if he only touched the ball 7 times. Ally mc cost gave it to him saying he didn't have a great game but deserved it because he scored and crossed a ball in. Absolute nonsense. Then he went in to say if Liverpool weren't winning Braithwaite would have got it. Fair play Jags,
1.) 13 Feb 2025 19:23:40
McCoist probably thinks Salah is Scottish.
2.) 14 Feb 2025 02:51:03
Scouse Sal-aah!
04 Feb 2025 09:16:17
Disappointed that we couldn't get in a decent striker like everyone i'm sure. But the positive spin i'm putting on it is, o'brien is only starting to play, garner, tim
and chermitti coming back into the equation are almost like new signings. Well that's the way I'm trying to take the positive from it.
1.) 04 Feb 2025 18:36:45
That’s a good positive to take blueray.
06 Jul 2021 18:53:42
Anyone know when the new home jersey is going to be released.
1.) 07 Jul 2021 12:08:31
After we've had a bad start to the season😂.
18 Dec 2019 08:05:54
He has been in charge for little over a week and has changed a team with no confidence to a team that don't stop fighting for each other. Picked up 4 points along the way with only 30% possession. He can only work with what he has and at the moment there are a few crucial injury problems as well.
24 Dec 2018 09:45:55
skylark and dark clouds. fair enough you both have your opinions as we all do but it seems like you both want us to do bad so you can come on here and moan and give out. the whole i told you so brigade.
10 Sep 2018 19:49:03
nbtb i think if i remember corectly you said you are irish like myself. i think sometimes we might take it to heart when people write of mc carthy or slag of coleman because of this. but i am with you 100% on this one. mc carthy is one of the only players we have that literally put their bodies on the line week in and week out for us. mc carthy unfortunately has become so injury prone its a shame because for me, he was a starter every week for his grit and determination alone.
20 May 2018 21:23:02
He doesn't have to sell them all to one person. There might be a few people willing to buy some of his shares. Fingers crossed.
19 May 2018 22:02:06
Everton made an approach for silva which wad rejected by silva but we still have to pay comoensation after he was sacked? Yet moyes admitted he was approached by alex ferguson directlyly who said he wanted moyes as his replacement and yet we don't get compensation. I know moyes let his contract wind down but surely i must be missing something here? We made an offer which was rejected. Our manager was argubly tapped up yet and yet we are offering compensation?
18 May 2025 21:38:40
Nice post GB. Grumpy was a great character on here.
{Ed025's Note - hes sorely missed Ray..
12 Apr 2025 18:31:40
All out celebrating pal.
06 Apr 2025 10:45:08
We haven't seen enough of broja either ed.
{Ed025's Note - i have Ray, enough to know that his injury record and lack of goals makes him one to give back, he never impressed me much at Chelsea or saints either mate..
26 Feb 2025 21:29:20
Agreed. Never looked forward to matches. Sit back and soak up pressure hoping not to concede. Now at least we are having a go and playing decent football again.
25 Feb 2025 08:25:38
A former referee, can't remember which one, came out and said both challenges were reds. Dalots for just lashing out and kicking not going for the ball, and the second is just obvious. Then he wouldn't have been on the pitch to equalise. Reminds me of the on Ayew fouled Gordan a couple of years back when we beat Palace. ayew should have been sent off, var said no and 2 mins later he went up the pitch and scored.
