How long does it take to get our man ndiaye signed or whatever his name is, thought it was all but done and dusted!

{Ed025's Note - it cant happen until tomorrow Tomtom so as not to fall foul of PSR, i hear the deal is done mate subject to the new owners sanctioning the loan of funds..

Ed002, any inklings on what Dele Ali will do upon the expiration of his contract with Everton? I've heard it mooted that the clauses which would have triggered additional payments to Spurs will remain in place if he signs another contract with Everton as a free agent.

{Ed002's Note - He will stay at Everton and get his fitness back then will look to what his options are. Everton will continue to try and avoid paying Everton any more money - but rejected an opportunity at a cheap and easy solution late last year.}

I’ve heard that another 7 games and I believe it’s £10m payment due as I have heard that’s why the club have said he can continue his rehabilitation at finch farm so the club can monitor his progress and potentially offer him another contract. If this happens hopefully he will rediscover his previous form definitely one to watch.

Ed 02

Is there any interest in Holgate and patterson.

{Ed002's Note - Nathan Patterson (RB) A third party is working on a return to Scotland with Rangers.

Mason Holgate (CB) Available to be sold. No obvious interest.}

Believable0 0Unbelievable

30 Jun 2024 11:54:36
Holgate’s stock has really fallen hasn’t it. Patterson does not seem to have worked out, might be best if he moved on. We would need a new RB.

30 Jun 2024 12:13:32
Thanks Ed 02 for information much appreciated. I agree jb tofee the lad from az alkmaar sugawara be my choice.

{Ed002's Note - Yukinari Sugawara (RB/CB) Southampton are close to an agreement and are awaiting confirmation that a WP will be provided to him. Besiktas, Atalanta and Inter have all a declared interest. Everton and Stuttgart sent scouts on several occasions.}

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Jun 2024 12:58:08
Thanks Ed does that mean walker Peters would move on for them . Think southampton would be getting great singing there. Do you know of any rb Everton interested in and who you think would be good fit.

{Ed002's Note - Yes WP will be departing if all goes to plan.

Ben Johnson (RB) Out of contract in the summer - Feyenoord, Everton and Rangers have declared an interest whilst Ipswich are talking directly to the player. Leeds and Southampton may offer options.

Issa Kabore (RB) Manchester City are open to offers for the player with Everton having a declared interest.}

Issa Kabore would be a very decent addition. Was impressive in a poor Luton squad, believe can also play on the right wing as well as at rightback.

Would be a great signing for saints and terrible on our part to miss out on him. As good defending as he is going forward. Works his bollocks off and being in the last year of his deal, is available for cheap.

Watched him play against Moyes in the europa conference league and he looked the part.

Walks into our side and is a good age too.

Exposure to the Asian market wouldn’t be a bad thing either.

Bretto personally I would like to see Patterson giving a decent run in team as I think he’s got a great future ahead of him as when burst into team he was/ seemed to be a good attacking RB. Then he has had his injuries etc. I think if he can get his injury issues behind him and get some a decent run in team could be a big help and whilst have veterans in Coleman and Young at club he has two very experienced defenders who can help him develop and reach his own potential as Coleman and young seem professional enough to help the younger squad players develop and make competition for starting place. As I players mentioned with there ages would struggle to play every game and as we know older players get the more time needed to recover from injuries long term I think Patterson has the ability to be the RB for us but definitely look at bringing in another RB to compete for ghe position. I hope we try and bring Ben Johnston in on a free transfer as he can play multiple positions and his role will improve the overall team and tactical ability of the team. At moment I believe we could beat the competition to his signature and still only 24 and very experienced player.

Newcastle accept bid from Brighton for Minteh for £33 mil . So unless he turns that down he won’t be coming to us.

I’d rather have the lad from Hull, looks class.

Seems overpriced to me. We should look elsewhere.

29 Jun 2024 23:01:31
Strange one that for Brighton. They seem to be moving away from their model of buying young unknown talented players and improving them to sell on. They bought Pedro from Watford last year for 30mill and now what looks like a fee that's a bit too high for Minteh despite his talent.

Agree1 0Disagree

30 Jun 2024 01:40:59
Also seem/ ed to be trying to buy Dewsbury-Hall who’s worth £40m easy although they offered Moder to reduce the price.

Agree2 0Disagree

30 Jun 2024 17:24:43
Minteh was £7mil last summer, so we should be after another player who is under the radar not £33mil for him, in my humble opinion.

01 Jul 2024 04:47:44
Hopefully with our relationship improved with Leeds we can look to sign Willy Gnoto ( fee approx £20m ) and winger from Hull in a deal supposedly around £15m being reported. As we all know we have the imminent departure of Onana in excess of £50m + fee with numerous clubs showing interest in him. Can explore options in free transfer market ie Ben Johnston and Ndidi ( should be two deals to pursue) and Onana sale towards a new No9 Would like to see a loan deal for Lukaku/ Richarlson availability as I think would both be upgrades on DCL.

29 Jun 2024 13:56:49
Ed I'm seeing lots of other teams linked to minteh, have we completely walked away now? He seemed to favour a move to us but all links gone very quiet. I saw we were linked with the kid from hull, are we targeting two wingers in this window?

{Ed002's Note - Yankuba Minteh (RW) Left footed RW will perhaps get another loan at Feyenoord after a very good season. Arne Slot was impressed by him but following him to Liverpool, except as cover, would be a huge step up. Lyon had a ridiculous €40M offer accepted but the player is not interested. Everton, Marseille, Dortmund, Brighton and Roma offer options although Everton see the cost as far too high and are unwilling to get involved with a straight swap for Calvert-Lewin. Marseille would like to include Matteo Guendouzi in any deal.

Everton have an interest in two Hull youngsters.}

Believable1 0Unbelievable

29 Jun 2024 15:19:27
Reading that DCL can’t agree terms with Newcastle at the mo, and he is also linked with West Ham and Brentford, Newcastle keen to do do a deal still got time.

Spot on mocker think its about time everton looked into the championship and league 1 i think if braithwaite does leave i would like see greaves from hull or ronnie edwards from Peterborough as his replacement in my opinion.

Agree1 0Disagree

29 Jun 2024 18:27:38
Yep Andy I'd go along with that pal, the young lad at Peterborough Ronnie not seen enough of him to say could step straight up, but by all reports a solid performer and 1 for future with slow bed in.

Philogene saw a bit of him and Greaves watching Championship games, both are great players, Philogene oozes class. Definitely excited about the youth we are looking at, just get them over the line please, obvious to say mate but the Stadium is a huge selling point to any young player, imagine just starting out thinking that could be home ground for next decade. Definitely slot more upbeat Andy lad, just hope Sean gets the chance to prove what a good manager he really is.

No disrespect to Feynoord and Dutch football but it’s a big leap to performing in Holland top flight and being able to perform to EPL level and consistently as we have all seen top players from Europe have come to PL and failed who have been proven players that huge potential on his shoulders and Newcastle’s valuation of player IMO he has a lot of pressure on him before his career in England has really started. And the Media will be ready to slaughter this young lad if he can’t adjust to Life in England and PL IMO think at the fee NUFC wanted we have dodged a bullet if the fee was a lot lower& even rising with add ons ie performance, goals, assists etc than would of said let’s take a gamble as the young lad from Hull City available for approx £15m and I really like that Wilifred Gnoto from Leeds both young quick wingers with a lot of ability and a eye for goal and ability to create chances and can both switch wings and give us more options tactically in final 3rd initial lay out probably looking at approx £25m and then performance related add ons in there respective deals.

Godfrey gone for 10 million. Not bad business.

{Ed025's Note - not bad at all Smit, things are starting to fall into place mate, i hear (courtesy of ED002) that the transfer of Ndiaye is done, it cant go through until monday though so as not to complicate problems, this is of course subject to the new owner providing the money for the loan i must stress..

29 Jun 2024 11:05:23
Wow. I thought Godfrey was a future captain after his first season. Don't know what happened to him but 3 yrs on the bench and ends up with champions league football? What a world we live in 😂.

{Ed025's Note - i think long covid had a lot to do with his demise Pauly, i wish the lad well though as he never let us down when called upon mate..

Club messed him around with various managers. We’ve messed a lot of young players around in the 10 years save for DCL and Branthwaite.

Agree0 0Disagree

01 Jul 2024 08:33:35
Everton in past under different managers have signed young talent and just been messed around as for Godfrey he had a great start to his career at Everton until he had that serious injury and numerous managers. You can’t blame the lad for rejecting extension and opting to see his future options. I wish him all the success and best of luck in his next chapter of his career as he has always shown professionalism. In his case as can play various positions hasn’t helped his opportunities to cement a starting place in his preferred position as CB.

{Ed025's Note - yeah i second that Sean..

If they want 40 million and we want 37 million.
I would take them up on it tbh.

One is injury prone and as we all know, the body only declines the older you get. The other is 19 and has attributes that we severely lack. He also seems hungry to prove himself in the league and favours a move to us which can only be a good thing.

Having Ndiaye and him in the front 4 would change the dynamics of this side dramatically.

Interesting times ahead if true GB.

Agree3 0Disagree

28 Jun 2024 13:13:42
Really really chuffed with the transfers so far, hope this one can be done aswell, as much as i like DCL through no fault of his own he is too injury prone we simply cannot afford the same thing to happen this coming season, Sean must have a couple lined up so I leave it to him mate.

Agree1 0Disagree

28 Jun 2024 16:16:27
I get that dcl was out for quite a while but I don't really want to jump on the injury prone wagon. I honestly believe he was mismanaged from the moment Carlos left until Dyche rocked up. Other managers staked their tenure on him and brought him back too early on several occasions because we didn't have any threat up front. It's not right but understandable considering how trigger happy our owner has been. Dyche didn't rush him after taking the hot seat and got nearly 40 games out of him last season. That, to me, doesn't suggest the lad is injury prone at all, it proves he can get on the pitch and close to full fitness for the majority of the season.
Scoring goals is another thing all together and he hasn't been doing that as much as we would like. Some of that is down to quality of delivery into the box, some of it down to tactical decisions. Dyche likes his cf to work the channels whereas CA made him stay in the box which, ultimately, seen him score more goals in a season than he had before. I wouldn't sell him yet, his work rate and hold up play is good and if we play to his strengths I think we can get a decent return out of him each season.

28 Jun 2024 16:57:37
Bluenose, I got pissed off at your comment about "the body declines the older you get", and then I just got back from 18 holes of golf and I'm knackered. But I am 84! You are right we need some younger, faster and hungry players, we have enough Young types.

Agree3 0Disagree

29 Jun 2024 08:41:46
BM fair play to you mate at 84 playing 18 I'm 51 and need a new spine after just 9.

Agree1 0Disagree

29 Jun 2024 10:29:55
Keep DCL if he signs a contract as the players we are looking to bring in fit with his play.
Stick him in the box, feed him and he’ll score goals.

Stop using him as a lone striker to hold up the ball, it doesn’t work.

We’ve accepted a bid from Atalanta for Ben Godfrey, in excess of £10m.

27 Jun 2024 11:23:13
Ndidi that should say.

27 Jun 2024 11:23:47
Think a few seem to be falling foul of the name Ndidi and Ndiaye and confusing themselves over 2 separate stories. It's definitely amused me this morning (slow work day I admit)

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Jun 2024 11:32:10
Would prefer Ndidi over Ndiaye personally.

{Ed002's Note - Why not sell Onana and have both. Stanger thins have happened.}

Agree1 0Disagree

27 Jun 2024 11:40:01
True Ed002, but personally I'm not convinced that Ndiaye will be much of an improvement, especially for the feeling quoted in the media.
With regards to Onana, I think selling him makes sense for the club.

{Ed002's Note - It was a disaster for both Marseille and Ndiaye as the goals dried up completely. He wanted the move but others didn't, so everyone hopes it works out.}

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Jun 2024 12:33:27
Think that's the intention with getting Ndidi in early and if we can with Onana still at Euro's.

Expect Onana to go once Euros finish and Ndidi is a more than adequate replacement on a free is a no brainer, which may free up some extra funds to address forward line.

In terms of Ndiaye I am very happy for us to sign, has a touch of class, didn't see enough of him in France but played out of position, his stats could been better but fact played 33 games suggest his actually performances weren't too shabby, he was definitely 1 of the stand out players in championship and think he can quite easily step up for us, remember he ain't a out and out striker and will be ideal as a Attacking midfielder working off DCL. Well that's my opinion and hope anyway chaps.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Jun 2024 19:30:46
He may be on a free but could well demand a high wage, something we are trying to move away from surely.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Jun 2024 19:42:38
He can demand what he wants Harlex, doesn't mean we after succumb to it does it.

Hopefully they will have a budget in place and cut our cloth accordingly, if the figures work then go for it.

Be very surprised if we actually got him and looking increasingly likely we won't tbf.

28 Jun 2024 09:29:24
Then we more than likely won’t get him.
