Well, my fellow Evertonians. I think it's as plain as the nose on your face that Tfg have no plans to relieve Moyes the Messiah of his duties, so let's rejoice, as the 25/26 season will more than likely be our highest place finish in the league under this current incumbent. Moyes is let's keep what we have it could be worse sort of guy. He is rarely the type of manager that will bust a guy to make great strides; just an inch better is progress in his eyes. That kinda manager can never take us back to the days of Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. It should actually now be it's better than nothing or in Latin Aliquid Est Melius Quam Nihil. This man will consider this season a success, job done, judging by his comment in the Spurs game where he actually says we were the better team for the last 20 minutes. Is that the kinda manager we really wanted to lead us into what was meant to be a brave new era with a state of the art new stadium ποΈ generating new income streams that was slowly meant to wake this sleeping giant of a club from its slumber and start the long road back to be an upper middle table side at worst and start pushing on from there to win cups, gain European qualification and, dare I say it, in time even challenge for the league title again? Trust me when I say under this manager the only thing we might win is the EFL Trophy.
If I did not know any better I would believe Moyes was being paid by our neighbours across Stanley Park as was since we have moved grounds to further destabilise us, but no, it's just the only way that dithering Dave knows how to run a club. My optimism for the 26/27 season is already beginning to wane. What say my fellow Evertonians. ππππ
09 Jun 2026 10:35:14
Relentless. Give those Russian bots a run for their money
09 Jun 2026 00:51:05
I'm glad dithering has offered our terrible left back and Keane new contracts because this is the start of his demise. He'll be gone before Christmas, you can count on that.
09 Jun 2026 07:30:40
So we're supposed to get rid of players from our threadbare squad. We can always start the season with 9 players, I suppose. π€·πΌββοΈ
09 Jun 2026 12:42:53
Or we could move on crap players and replace them with better ones. Simple.
09 Jun 2026 15:37:05
Yes. Replace the poor players that cost us goals or missed sitters and replace with those that can defend or those that can put it in the net from 6 yards. Are we truly scared to improve?
09 Jun 2026 16:16:17
So, because we are threadbare, we have to keep s*** players. My God, this club is a laughing stock. The club shop should start selling Prozac.
09 Jun 2026 16:39:52
No, not at all, but you can't ditch players in the hope of getting better ones. We know, all too well, that rarely materialises with our recruitment. Defensively, we weren't that bad, but attacking injuries really hampered us, and don't get me started on our strikers.
08 Jun 2026 20:09:28
I see Spurs are after Hackney now.
08 Jun 2026 21:27:34
No surprise there, same old Neverton dithering in the transfer market again.
08 Jun 2026 23:34:18
Window isn't open. What are you moaning about?
09 Jun 2026 00:15:13
Moaning about, that on the first day the window opens, Hackney will be parading in a Spurs shirt, unless our wonderful recruitment team get their finger out and get it sorted.
09 Jun 2026 01:41:27
Spurs have signed 2 defenders on frees so far, and agreed a Β£60 million pound deal with City for Savinho. I wouldn't have wanted the LB they have got, but Senesi from Bournemouth would have been a belting signing. Did we even try to get him? π€ Probably not, coz we have Tarks and Keane at the back.
09 Jun 2026 02:00:56
The deal should already have been done behind closed doors. First day of the window, he should be seen in our shirt. If we want him, pay the money & get him in before anyone else gets the chance.
We have lost deals in the past arguing over Β£5 million in valuation difference.
Hopefully, TFG are a bit wiser & just go & get the players needed.
This is a massive window for us, whether Moyes is in charge or not. It is a statement of intent. Are we going to become future challengers or are we happy picking up scraps to stay mid table.
UTFT NSNO. π π π
09 Jun 2026 07:42:44
Exactly, we are always acting like a small club. All other small clubs have progressed massively, and we have stood still.
09 Jun 2026 10:19:06
Palace after Hackney now, package put together, no messing, will get the job done.
09 Jun 2026 11:27:50
There appear to be a number of clubs after Hackney now based on reports I have read.
One of them will soon pay 20m for him if that is the fee that Middlesborough want. They won't mess around (as we normally do) for what, by today's standards, is not a large fee for a 23 year old midfielder, irrespective of him only having one year left on his contract.
08 Jun 2026 20:01:05
In reply to Skylarks earlier post, my player would be Howard Kendall.
08 Jun 2026 21:12:11
I wish he was our manager mate.
08 Jun 2026 21:29:20
So do I, mate.
09 Jun 2026 10:05:51
Great man manager who knew how to get the best out of his players without alienating any of them.
08 Jun 2026 15:14:42
Great news to see that Mykolenko has signed a 3 year deal. What a start to the window. Onwards an upwards!
08 Jun 2026 15:52:52
After 143 appearances, 4 goals and 3 assists later, three years seems a long time for someone I'd hoped we were looking to upgrade..
08 Jun 2026 16:35:45
I wouldn't mind if he was a back up, but he's not, is he. There's no way he would sign a 3 year deal thinking he was going to be second choice.
08 Jun 2026 16:46:27
Wish that would have been Ndiaye.
08 Jun 2026 17:20:05
Pathetic, no ambition, filled with dread already. My god, why can't this club move forward? What start to summer!
08 Jun 2026 18:29:28
Such news can only be treated with disbelief and sarcasm BN.
I'd have shown him the door as he's not even good enough to be a back up and hasn't improved at all during his time with us. He's just a liability.
So Mr Negativity strikes even before the window opens. Doesn't fill me with confidence. I didn't mind how Moyes left us first time round, as I thought his race was run. Obviously he showed a lack of respect for the club but that happens in football, but I don't think I can forgive him for the way he cost the club European football with our capitulation at the end of the season that was caused solely by his inept management.
I usually look forward to the transfer window, but I await this one with trepidation. He has too much influence at the club and whoever gave him the final say on signings needs their head examined.
08 Jun 2026 18:53:44
What a great post Shropshire, at one time we had Kenwright holding us back, now we have Moyes, who is like a bad smell that just won't go away.
08 Jun 2026 19:04:45
Mykolenko and Keane both signing just shows a huge lack of ambition and hope to me. Both are garbage and before anyone says Keane was one of our better players last season, what about all the other seasons he's been here.
I never wanted Moyes back and with him in charge we will have a team all near or over 30 and the football will be dire.
08 Jun 2026 22:45:48
Spot on, everyone.
It just beggars belief that we can all see it, but the powers that be can't.
Hopefully, they have signed him on so we can recoup some of the 20ish million we spent on him.
I have heard he has suitors in Italy and Germany.
If we flipped him for 15/20m in a few weeks, I think we would all doff our caps to "the best in class".
08 Jun 2026 23:20:49
Yep they know nothing about football.
09 Jun 2026 00:19:18
Nice thought, but our recruitment team could not find their own ass, with two hands, and a map.
09 Jun 2026 03:11:46
@dms tell us what the majority of us evertonians can't see in relation to Keane and Mykolenko. Why do you think so highly of them? Tell us what we're missing instead of your sly digs at the posters in this thread. Share some of your wealth of 'football knowledge' and help educate us.
IMO they are squad players at best, Mykolenko's faults and limitations have been explained on here many times over the past few years, as have Keane's. But no one has explained what I am not seeing. So hopefully you can educate me and I, along with others will be delighted that they have signed new contracts.
08 Jun 2026 14:11:29
Any news on a right back? The most important position this summer.
08 Jun 2026 19:03:13
Yes. We don't need one, we are going to go with a back three. Tarks-Keane-Micky. O'Nrien and Branthwaite subs. π
08 Jun 2026 19:21:52
Totally agree, Payner, and we have needed one for quite somewhile now. Missed the boat last close season, and we were consequently left without a proper one for the whole season. Trouble is, every club will know we are desperate in the RB position and look to have us over on transfer fee.
08 Jun 2026 20:24:48
Well, we did have one just that Moyes wouldn't play him. π€·ββοΈ
08 Jun 2026 21:15:16
Hahahaha, BMD.
That first post did make me laugh.
But all jokes aside, Mykolenko is probably a better player in a back 3 than he is as a left back. He's easily improved on as a left back, but doesn't look like our recruitment team think the same. But then they've failed to get us a right back for years now.
08 Jun 2026 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Davey Sulls has posted a new article entitled, Iraola Expectations and Liverpool Squad Priorities
08 Jun 2026 14:16:52
Wan Bassaka seems to be the one in pole position on the rumour sites.
08 Jun 2026 06:54:58
Bit of fun
If you could have just one Everton player who could play for ever in the team, who would you pick?
Mine would be Dixie Dean.
{Ed025's Note - Bob Latchford..
08 Jun 2026 07:41:11
Neville Southall.
08 Jun 2026 09:01:52
Tricky Trevor Steven.
08 Jun 2026 09:34:29
Kanchelskis.
08 Jun 2026 09:41:29
Alan Ball.
{Ed025's Note - great shout that Shropshire..
08 Jun 2026 10:22:23
Easy. The Golden Vision best player I've ever seen in a blue shirt.
08 Jun 2026 10:38:21
Alex Nyarko for me.
08 Jun 2026 10:39:37
Southall said. Ball said. Dixie (we could have done with him in recent seasons) said.
If I had to pick someone new, I'd go with Cahill. The guy popped up everywhere and contributed to goals.
08 Jun 2026 11:35:13
Rooney, or Baines.
08 Jun 2026 12:20:31
In terms of players that would come into this team and have an immediate impact, based on my 30 years of watching Everton, it would be Rooney, Lukaku, Cahill or Kanchelskis.
08 Jun 2026 11:06:44
The things I remember from my first game Ed, which was on a very sunny day were firstly how big the stadium was, then how green the pitch was and then how red Alan Ball's hair was and how white his boots were!
The complete midfield player for me. I was only a kid, but I remember crying when he left.
{Ed025's Note - i cant remember if i seen him play Shropshire but my dad and mates who were older were gutted when he left mate..
08 Jun 2026 13:28:12
I think we're a similar age Ed and I can only remember Bally, Gordon West, Brian Labone and Ray Wilson from the side simply because of the World Cup. But Bally really stood out. He would be priceless today.
{Ed025's Note - i would agree Shropshire mate..
08 Jun 2026 14:30:50
Alan Ball. Even in his older days, he ran rings round me at Blackpool. So gifted.
08 Jun 2026 17:30:19
For me, Kevin Sheedy - was just my favourite player to watch as a kid, and I would leave to relive that memory.
08 Jun 2026 19:41:25
So many brilliant players have been mentioned here, what we would give to have just one player with the same ability as any of those now.
08 Jun 2026 19:57:22
Kevin Sheedy.
08 Jun 2026 20:29:23
When Alex Young got the ball, you could feel the crowd swell, you could taste the anticipation. The guy was our motto, an absolute genius. Was eventually replaced by some ginger kid from Blackpool and he wasnβt bad either. π
08 Jun 2026 21:18:26
What about the guy that came on the pitch and asked Nyarko to swap shirts and let him play, BN? Surely, as drunk as he looked that day, he could've given more than Alex haha.
08 Jun 2026 23:26:32
Latchford, Trevor Steven, Alan Ball (the original engine) .
07 Jun 2026 17:25:36
Maybe we should have a look at a few players from Bodo Glimt, the left winger Hauge and centre forward Hoge. They have a right back, can't remember his name, who reminds me of Coleman and Berg. In centre midfield, reminds me of Peter Reid, always looking for the ball and moving it quickly, has a look of Thomas Brolin who played for Leeds.
Surely it wouldn't take massive amounts to get these players in, and all international for Denmark and Sweden. May get a look at them in the World Cup; they were great in the Champions League β just ask City and Inter, also beat Atletico Madrid away.
07 Jun 2026 19:40:09
Who is the manager there???
08 Jun 2026 03:33:31
Kjetil Knutsen.
08 Jun 2026 10:23:41
He would suit us.
08 Jun 2026 11:14:33
After our last seven games of the season, I'd take Ted Lasso or Mike Bassett..
Things can't continue as they are or we will see a change of manager pretty soon.
07 Jun 2026 13:45:11
If we buy Grealish then we will definitely need an overlapping left back, otherwise we will have zero pace on that wing. Jack likes to play at his own pace and thatβs not going to change. I would imagine Moyes wants him for all the fouls he wins.
Tactic next season, give it to Jack, get a foul and load the box. Manβs a tactical genius.
07 Jun 2026 14:09:41
Really hope we get Jack, very good gifted player. We missed him in our last few games for sure.
07 Jun 2026 15:17:11
But don't need him on the wing. GB would be better playing behind the striker. Need pace out wide and Jack is smart enough to play as a 10.
07 Jun 2026 16:07:11
Hope we don't get him, too much baggage and injury prone, a bit too old and for me hasn't exactly set the world a light, rather we looked at someone young.
07 Jun 2026 23:21:26
Plays at own pace, affects whole team (give it to Jack) . Holds ball up.
08 Jun 2026 11:15:41
He might have the brains to play 10, but our manager won't do it. He's more likely to play him at LB or RW.
08 Jun 2026 12:20:43
Providing the finances are right then it's a transfer we have to make. Holds the ball up, provides assists and draws plenty of fouls. We missed him from the minute he was out injured. Wouldn't class him as injury prone and, having just turned 30 not so long ago, don't see how some can say that is too old? Gets mentioned plenty of times in these pages, players are fitter than they have ever been these days. We can get a few seasons out of him no problem so I, for one, would like to see this deal made asap.
08 Jun 2026 17:03:12
Loan yes buy no. Leopards don't change their spots, mate.
