Moyes has been really impressed with Aznou in training apparently, yet still the lad doesn't get a look in?

There's a cracking leftback playing for Preston I've started watching there games because of Armstrong they also have this right forward goes by the name of Lewis dobbin knows were the onion bag is the leftback is called Thierry small wonder who scouted them players they've got Preston up to 4th.

06 Nov 2025 17:41:07
Tbf Dobbin is going to be like a discount Philogene, solid championship player who won’t make it in the premier league.

Small doesn’t play every game for Preston and left us because he believed at 16 he should be starting ahead of Leighton Baines and Lucas Digne.

06 Nov 2025 19:55:57
I imagine it was quite the opposite and more likely that he thought there was no chance he would get game time ahead of two of the best full backs in the league at the time but had enough confidence to go and try his luck at another PL team. Fair play to having the minerals I say.

06 Nov 2025 21:02:03
Nearly every report from the time, because we wanted to keep him, was that he had told the club he should be our first choice left back and they said no. So he left.

06 Nov 2025 21:12:01
Digne didn't want to go nor did Richarlison for that matter, tend to forget that.

06 Nov 2025 07:40:42
Pickford. Garner O'brien Keane myko Dibling KDH. Rolh Grealish. , Alcaraz , , ndiaye. That would be my starting 11 for Saturday if all fit need a win before the international break but so do Fulham I'm going for a 2.1 win but other than Barry or beto up front i think we all know what the starting 11 will be.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2025 11:35:54
Yep good starting 11,but Barry will be there I’m sure of it,2-0 for me mate.

06 Nov 2025 16:11:17
Moyes has shown no indication that he is going to change anything. I expect the same starting eleven as the last game. Please David surprise me!

Just been reading Stuart mcCalls take on Harrison Armstrong, he said he's better than he envisage, he's maturity is like a young jagelka, spelling sorry, how well he's liked in the dressing room, and goes on about what he does that doesn't get noticed which you wouldn't expect for someone his age, so much praise for the kid, I think we may have a star in the making with this kid.

05 Nov 2025 15:59:02
Him and Rohl in the engine room would give us a lot of dynamism Pasty. I would take both of them in the middle for us now, the way that we are playing atm mate.

05 Nov 2025 16:34:43
Good pairing that both good.

05 Nov 2025 18:58:12
And Dyche played him on the wing.

06 Nov 2025 14:00:54
moyes will hold him back if he cancels loan in january, hel sit on the bench for 8 weeks til he becomes prem ready.

05 Nov 2025 12:34:51
Don't rate either of our two strikers but agree with Swan Barry has to start over Beto and hopefully get his mojo going and score a few goals, nothing will change till the window opens in Jan but he has to have a run of games, now prove me right fella and start scoring against Fulham on Sat.

Away from the striker debate for a second

Why did we chase Tyler Dibling just to bring on McNeil? Our side already lacks pace and I'm aware Dibling is not really fast, but he has quick feet, McNeil has the speed of the average premier league centre back from like 2007, he's so slow. He's a one trick pony and he's as good as he's ever going to be.

Did Moyes sign Dibling, see him in training and go "oh no what have I done"? I don't get it. He needs game time, he has a lot of potential, he can play on the right or behind the striker, but he's being left on the bench. Did the club sign him against Moyes' wishes?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2025 22:16:43
What's his trick?

04 Nov 2025 22:28:01
It is a bit baffling. When you look at some of the players signed for far less by teams like Sunderland that are having an impact, it seems that we’ve panic bought a couple of players for big money.

04 Nov 2025 23:13:52
I hope not JB.

It doesn’t make sense to me. £90m+ on Beto, Barry and Dibling. The world has gone mad.

If Dibling and Barry come good, I’ll happily eat my words. So far, it’s looked concerning how little impact they have or why Moyes doesn’t play them. Who else could we have bought for that much?

05 Nov 2025 10:19:08
Not sure how anyone can knock a young kid that has hardly had a look in since he came here. I know all the "experts" out there will say I saw him play half a game and he was crap. Come on half a game. Like Alcaraz, Rohl and Aznou he has gardly had a look in.
Now that would be understandable if the team was playing well but their not, and it's even more mystifying given the positions these players can cover are where we are weakest.
Moyes stated that he brought McNeil on because he has been really good in training.

What are we running a school team here? McNeil is slow and very limited in what he can do, no amount of training is going to change that now.
As for the Beto/ Barry debate. If we have to continue playing one of them because that is our tactic, then it has to be Barry. Give the lad a run of games and see how he goes. Or change our tactic and use the talent you do have more efficiently.

05 Nov 2025 10:30:31
Barry, Dibling, Aznou. Moyes must have had a say in all of them (it is part of his stipulation) . Even with new finance savvy owners we didn't have money to burn on potential. Potential comes once you have an established deliverable squad surely. I don't get it.

05 Nov 2025 16:21:59
It is quite ridiculous tbh Brass. The amount of players you hear of that are "good in training", not even just in football but other sports, sparring in boxing for example and then it comes to performing under the pressure/ lights and they go within themselves and look like a different player.

It works the other way as well, where players train within themselves and then turn it on when it matters.

Forming an opinion on Dibling when he has played 4 minutes away at Liverpool, 9 minutes in a cagey 1-1 with West Ham, a half against Palace where literally the whole side, bar Pickford turned in their worst half of the season and then 4 minutes in a buried game away at City, is absolutely madness to me.

Very much the same with Aznou who hasn't even played a single minute.

Sure it could be said that they mustn't be good enough if Moyes isn't picking them but how many times have we seen it before where players can't get a look in and then under a different manager they are in the side week in week out.

I don't have to see Dibling play another minute of football again to know that he is 10 times the footballer than Dwight McNeil is. The lad could be a very good player for us but his confidence must be taking an absolute battering, which is always worse for a player in a forward position as rhythm and confidence is what they thrive off.

If the plan was never to play him, then we should have sent him straight back out on loan to a Leeds or a Brentford to carry on with his progression.

05 Nov 2025 18:38:29
Exactly BN. Young players need support from their manager, ours seem to be being ignored.

04 Nov 2025 19:48:21
And there was me thinking a point away to a 4th place Sunderland wasn't too bad a result!
It's like we're in a crisis whenever I read on here. Moyes out before Xmas and all that is rubbish.
The 3 teams we lost against are unfortunately better than us. City, Liverpool and Spurs. We drew West Ham, Villa and Sunderland and beat Palace and Wolves. Definite reality check needed.

It will take more than one window, DM's not going anywhere (unfortunately for those who still hate on the guy) and he's working with what we have and what we had to spend in the one window so far. By the looks of it he's got it wrong with Barry but he was a big factor on why Jack moved to us.
3 points against Fulham's a must and I'm personally confident we'll get them.

Agree4 Disagree1

04 Nov 2025 20:08:00
With you on that 3 points it has to be mate.

04 Nov 2025 20:45:35
We also lost to Leeds

We’ve had 2 good performances all season, Brighton and Wolves and even against Wolves we had to hang on for dear life.

04 Nov 2025 22:30:10
We lost to Leeds after another shocking VAR call. We outplayed Villa. We could easily have a few more points on the board. There are still flashes of good play, but we look shaky at the back, and then there’s the obvious striker issue.

05 Nov 2025 10:29:40
People forgetting the Wolves disaster. What was it was said at the start of the season? We won't win the league but this team is good enough to win a cup. Really.
We are a one dimensional team, we rely totally on our two wide players, and when they are taken out of the equation as against Spurs, we have nothing.

Saying we were unlucky against Leeds and out played Villa doesn't hide the fact that Palace should and could have taken us apart, but we had a little luck in that one.
Based on this why people think we will just roll over Fulham I find baffling. They are a decent team and have a very good manager.

04 Nov 2025 17:57:11
So Swan you are vehemently against trying out any youngsters in place of our dynamic duo Beto and Barry, what is your suggestion to how we can change our front line with what we have available, Ndiaye, Alcaraz have been shot down so interested who you would pick mate.

Agree7 Disagree4

04 Nov 2025 18:59:21
Never said they were dynamic, they are the only 2 strikers we have. No one in the league plays with either really short strikers or really un-athletic centre backs. So physically you have to match them.

Barry is a better footballer than Beto, he has no confidence, play him until January then get someone better, that simple. Even if his ability to control a ball means Ndiaye and Grealish have more space.

I also would start Alcaraz because he doesn’t leave the striker isolated, he will go up with them.

04 Nov 2025 19:05:24
It's not Swan's job to pick the team, it's Moyes's, only he hasn't got the balls to do it. He is a one trick pony. You can go on all you want about playing a youngster up front but Davey isn't the man to try something new.

04 Nov 2025 19:26:09
I would go with that Swan we simply have to change something before we get to the transfer window, but it needs to done pronto mate.

04 Nov 2025 19:55:18
I’m all for Barry getting the nod for at least the next few games.

Barring that bad miss (and it was a shocker) he did ok. Taking him off instead of letting him make up for his error isn’t going to get him into any kind of form.

04 Nov 2025 20:47:39
I think a problem Barry has is he’s going to suffer a lot from people who will just never rate him because of a bad first impression.

Not comparing the 2, just saying, there are Everton fans who never liked Lukaku the moment he signed and even to this day will insist he was garbage despite his goals.

Barry must start and stay on until he’s knackered or injured. He’s got a higher ceiling than Beto and is already a better footballer. He missed a good chance, it happens, the lad has no confidence.

04 Nov 2025 22:31:04
When he plays well, we’ll rate him.

05 Nov 2025 10:32:49
Everton supporters "give youth a chance" a little while later "he's crap we need experienced players" what are the club doing?

05 Nov 2025 18:07:25
He’s crap full stop. Nothing to do with age.

05 Nov 2025 18:40:50
Baffling ?.

06 Nov 2025 07:33:26
It’s not Brass. I’m not calling for his head or making any bold statements. He has been crap so far this season, as has Beto. When you spend 30+ million on a striker, you should expect h to be able to string his boots up.
