Just wondering about Smith Rowe of arsenal, scores goals, can play as a winger or number 10, what's the chances of us getting him on loan, arsenal don't want him, I think he would be perfect as a replacement for dacoure, probably way out of our league but dreaming is ok now and again.

18 May 2024 12:35:36
Think be a very good signing BluePasty. He as the graft too. Don't think he would be totally out of our reach as well .

Definitely a case that we need to utilise our 2 loan slots a lot shrewder next season and actually try improve the first 11 with both.

That’s the sort of players we will be looking to bring in, young and hungry.

Agree0 0Disagree

May suit Arsenal to loan him too. Type of deal I can imagine we’d look at and in a position (10) we desperately need.

Not for me gents.

Fantastic player but has a worse injury record than DCL.

3926 minutes played out of a possible 17100, across 5 seasons of football. 322 minutes this season. 161 last season. His best season being 1909.

Wander and Pasko have resigned from their positions in 777.

Agree0 0Disagree

They’re a pair of crooks and should not be anywhere near our club.

{Ed002's Note - It leaves Everton with a huge problem.}

18 May 2024 12:58:02
Have to wonder what Moshiris fascination with 777 was/ is all about.

Does insanity effect all those who do Everton player squad deals.
Ashley Young is to be offered a new contract, are we running a football team, or a home for OAPs?

18 May 2024 10:44:31
He’s been one of our more consistent players this season, and whilst we’d all love to be signing players I believe our financial predicament will prevent this.

If it’s on a relatively lowish wage and allows a youngster to develop alongside him then it makes sense given our situation.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 May 2024 11:29:04
From all accounts he’s been amazing in the dressing room and a real leader, which is what we’ve lacked for years. There’s probably a view to him taking on a coaching role at some point too. It’s one year and it’s cheap and he can play in several positions . I think it’s fair enough. Let’s not forget we’re in real financial trouble.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 May 2024 12:38:28
Yep Swinners. He is experienced and a calming figure, squad player yes, need limit his playing time. Expect a few more Young like signings this summer, free and experienced. Where we are at currently.

Not sure how you follow blues feel but having just watched Jürgen Klopps tribute, he is going to be a big miss to the premiership and football.

Hard to admit but he has done a excellent job across the road and as much as he is annoying with his moaning and antics at times he has been a credit to the league.

We can only hope if and when Sean goes we could fall lucky and find a guy that could build us up like them lot, be very doubtful but can dream, shows how important patience is in football.

{Ed025's Note - i loved his last press conference Mocker, he paid tribute to the city and all the people in it mate, great manager for me as well..

Couldn't care less about him. He's done a good job over the road. Hope slot is a square peg in a round hole. Thought it was really classy of liverpool to announce him while Klopp is taking his last press conference.

As for Klopp he's never shown any respect to us and wouldn't expect or want him to and therefore I ain't got any for him. Just another manager of the enemy.

Agree1 0Disagree

17 May 2024 18:06:46
Nick, I get you don't like Sean and his Dyche all, but he ain't going anywhere mate anytime soon, he has a difficult job to say the least but has achieved his remit and can argue overachieved in the circumstances and PTS deduction (we would be 11th and behind 10th on GD) , he deserves some slack mate cmon. Sean job is to stabilise us for next couple years then the question is worth asking can he take us to the next level, for me he deserves a go if he manages to achieve stability and remain with us for next couple of seasons, this summer again is going to be turmoil and patience is key.

Agree3 0Disagree

17 May 2024 15:02:31
He scored at Brentford GB. So what did they do different to us for him to score? We seem to have a knack of getting rid of players who go onto do better. Do you think our coaching and game plan could be at fault rather than the players?

Agree0 0Disagree

17 May 2024 15:06:49
Agree. But we need to buy a buyer first GB and get whatever money we can.

The difference is they play on the deck and flood the box with players and not hoofed in for 1 striker to wait for the perfect ball. He isn't the answer and will not suit Dyche ball but I do love his shi9housing. Still time for Brentford to make an offer as he did well for them. Guess they want to get the big man's deal done before they make any decisions.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 May 2024 10:44:07
He had enough time and enough minutes to get used to whatever system it is we play, plus numerous training sessions. For whatever reason, him and us just wasn't a good fit so we should cut our losses and get rid.
He has spoken about the way the fans treated him here since he left on loan so I don't expect that he wants to be at the club when the season starts. Let's be honest, he's made a name for himself this season for all the wrong reasons. His social media and the way he conducts himself on the pitch brings unwanted attention, the lad comes across as a bit of a rat. Get what we can for him.

Do we reject billionaires whose country 'sport washes' to make it look better or are prepared to turn a blind eye?

Personally I don't care as long as they sort us out, what do other blues think? ??.

{Ed001's Note - would it have to be a country? Ineos is sportswashing just the same as any country, would you include a similar corporation that is trying to hide its sins through sport?}

16 May 2024 07:44:58
Whats people foughts on the current discussion that VAR could be scrapped next season my opinion i would keep it but it needs a proper adjustment the handball rule seriously needs addressing to i think we need referees from abroad cause our current refs all seem to be helping eachother out including stockley park even when they are wrong and then but last why havnt we got ifab i watch la liga takes 7 seconds to show if a player is offside where takes us 5 minutes an a 8 year old is on Microsoft paint drawing offside lines at stockley park 😂.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 08:52:21
I would get rid of it Andy mate or at least put on hold until big improvements are implemented.

Totally taken the joy out of watching the game, human error still talking point and caused more debate and arguments then solved.

As you say the handball rule is subjective and needs looking at big time. Don't like the offside decisions far too marginal imo and needs been some kind of margin of the attackers. Also the time involved to make decisions is a joke, I was all for some kind of appeal system in place for managers or captains to challenge decisions but I guess that would only take a age and stop the flow and enjoyment.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 09:05:41
Football has always and will always be a game of opinions. It does generally get more right but the speed is a major problem. When I watch at home even the so called tight ones, I rarely get the offside wrong and I take a second. Handball rule needs to revert back to it's simple deliberate or not and sack off this no goal nonsense even for accidental handball. I say keep it but simplify it. And the ref should not be overruled unless it's a howler. I like the accuracy of off sides but let the refs do the rest.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 09:51:10
Yeah some good points in you're post mocker but yeah hand ball rule definitely needs adjusting but not sure if you watched the united match last night but how did var not review the tackle on gordan was a blatant penalty and his sock was ripped from that tackle 😂.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 09:56:25
Rugby league has used it perfectly for years proper people in charge of it decision made in seconds problem is footballs run by clowns.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 10:08:02
Its not the technology its the people using it, no consistency. If we stay with it then over time you should be able to use machine learning to populate a large enough data lake for AI to make the decisions based on a set of determined values. This would take all the personal interpretation out of the equation providing greater consistency. Or we could just go back to Referees and assistants making the decision and stop whinging when they get its wrong or seem to be biased towards certain clubs.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 10:35:44
Yeah I did watch Andy mate and watched few times since, like you can't believe it wasn't given and Gordan is right, what is the point of VAR!

Statistically it may be getting more tight decisions correct, but the key static for me is my enjoyment of the game since it has been introduced has gone down. Fact!

The technology is great and there to be used but still doesn't solve the subjective calls and as others have rightly stated other sports use it better and more effectively at pace, it's the inept officials we have nowadays and what seems to be a celebrity culture amongst them.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 14:36:07
Absolutely garbage, get rid of var for good would be my perfect solution.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 15:36:30
Get rid of it. There's no joy in the game anymore. VAR stick their noses into everything. It was brought in to assist refs, not try overrule them. It's the incompetent refs who are in the var room that var was brought in to try improve. And everyone has a different interpretation of fouls, handball etc. Just chick it in the bin.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 15:38:10
I'm all for VAR for catching the off the ball incidents or the foul leading to a goal. As for handball it needs simplifying. Offside by an eyebrow is pathetic and no amount of cameras or techno wizardry can accurately be conclusive. Why not make it over half the body (i. e. two arms and a leg, two legs and an arm, one leg one arm and a head) . Easy to see and will not take such a song and dance to sort out.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 15:57:42
Always thought that with offside Nick. If any part of your body that can score is inside it should stand. simple.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 11:15:52
Let him go asap, he's not good enough for this league. Only thing going for him is that he puts in the effort but shouldn't every player do that anyway? As mentioned above, his control is shocking, he's constantly offside and his shooting is erratic. Cut our losses and grant him his wish immediately. If we sell dcl and are left with him as our main striker then we will be scrapping again at the bottom of the table next season for sure.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 14:21:17
DCL:

Minutes played - 2092
Games completing 60 minutes or more - 24
Goals scored - 7 (2 Penalties)
Big chances created - 4
Big chances missed - 15
Offsides - 23

Beto:

Minutes played - 942
Games completing 60 minutes or more - 9
Goals scored - 3
Big chances created - 3
Big chances missed - 8
Offsides - 10

The lad has never gotten a chance to build up even a slither of confidence and we all know that is what strikers thrive off. He has come to a new league and country, in probably the most high-pressured environment possible, considering all the circus with this club.

In noway shape or form do we play to his strengths. The one time we put the ball into him (lovely ball from Garner) he buries it. The occasional times we put him in behind (Doncaster and Newcastle) and he bursts through, using his power and finishes.

Its absolutely baffling how Dom gets given the benefit of the doubt (rightly so btw) about how terrible we are, how little chances we create for him and how he is up there fighting on his own but then those same benefits are not gifted to Beto.

Is Dom a better player, undisputedly so. However, Dom went 19 games without scoring a goal and it was everyone else's fault but his. He has played more than double the game time, got more consistent runs in the team and only scored double the goals Beto has with penalties.

Yes, it was the Italian league but go and look at the goals Beto was scoring for Udinese. He doesn't look like a player who can't score goals to me. Give him time, build his confidence and ultimately, actually give him minutes and he could easily be a 10+ goals striker a season.

The rubbish this man gets is criminal when you can clearly see he tries his best for the shirt, especially when the same cannot be said about others that actually play.

{Ed025's Note - i suppose its how you view things BN, for me Beto is useless mate, very strong and powerful but hes in the wrong sport for me, cant lead the line and is very poor in the air for me, no composure in front of goal and deceptively slow, just my opinion of course..

Agree0 0Disagree

16 May 2024 15:06:51
By no means do I think he has delivered for us Ed. I think he has been a disappointment but I do think there is an awful lot of context to that disappointment.

It is strange, due to his build and presence, but holding the ball up is not his game. He is slow off the mark but once he gets going he is a hard man to stop.

I think the chances he has missed this season are poor but I think his confidence was decimated from the introduction to life at us. I think he has been criminally mis-managed by Dyche and any chance of him getting going has been non-existent.

I know it is only Doncaster but fans were excited by what he showed in that game. It is extremely unfortunate that Dom decided to be fit for the first time in what felt like forever, which then limited him to a few 5/ 10 minute spells off the bench, where ultimately his confidence eroded by the week.

Personally I think the lad would work best with a partner. It seems absolutely baffling to me that we have one of the best strikers in the league for winning the ball in the air and winning knockdowns or flick ons and then we have Beto, who thrives off being played in behind. How many times has Dyche tried them together, I think I can recall once!

The way I think about new signings has taken a different view now Ed. I will gladly admit that I thought Mykolenko and McNeil were absolutely garbage, even though, like Beto, they both worked their bollocks off. There is no question that they have improved since getting that first stint under their belt. Don't get me wrong they are both still very limited players but they have been important players for us this season for sure. I just feel that Beto could turn out that way for us to, if he was actually given the opportunity.

We shelled out 26 million on him and after this season, I doubt we would get anywhere near that back. Taking that into account, we may as well either give him a chance to prove his worth and/ or increase his value or loan him out back to an Italian club to do the same. I think selling him, is terrible business given our situation.

{Ed025's Note - if we could get our money back i would take him to his new club by wheelbarrow BN, not a fan at all mate but respect your opinion..

Agree0 0Disagree

Totally agree with ed025 on everything he said at the end of BN's 1st post. It's about opinions and I've formed mine by watching him play in a blue shirt. For me, he is not, and probably never will be, at premier league standard.
Let's forget about Doncaster as they are not in the same league. He did do well that game but the fact that he has never replicated that game speaks volumes. That is probably his level in this country. Remember his miss against them as well? It sticks in the mind because it nearly went for a throw in!
I'll take your word on the amount of times he has been offside but also remember the times he's in an offside position that breaks up our rhythm and play because he can't receive a pass or the ref will blow.
Blaming the manager is a tough one as, if he trains like he plays, I wouldn't be playing him either.
I don't think confidence is the problem, BN, I honestly don't believe he has the ability to play at this level.
I don't see many people being horrible about him, everyone who doesn't share your opinion have said the same sort of things, tries hard but. Hardly criminal mate, it's just an opinion!
