Same old story Moyes playing 3 centre backs and O'Brien isn't even one of them brennans offerd nothing since he arrived yet gets the nod in front of George and Tyler every game the enthusiasm gets absorbed by his team selection it ruins it all the time just got to hull and my excitement has dipped straight away.

To be fair, what other option does he have for left back?
I agree with the sentiments on Johnson though, I was hoping he'd be benched.
11 Oct 2026 13:12:26
AMN can play there and Rohl or garner right back keep jarrad our best centre back in his correct position.
11 Oct 2026 13:13:06
Maitland Niles done a few stints at left back earlier in his career.
Then you play Obrien at RB as moyes has done most games in his second tenure.
Keane will cost us at least 1 goal today, always does. And then he also starts our 3rd best RW wide option which would be agreed by 99% of the football world.
Dino.
11 Oct 2026 13:22:07
Exactly dino he has swapped McNeil for Johnson in every shape of the word won't drop him them 2 young wingers confidence will be on the floor soon enough and Jake O'Brien must be thinking what the f*** is going on here the same centre backs pairing that conceded 2 goals a game last season
Hope I'm proven wrong but we need to score 3 today to stand any chance of winning.
11 Oct 2026 13:33:37
Haha i meant Dinosaur but can see the confusion.
Just the standard for me in which you wait all week for the game, excited, and then excitement is destroyed by a team sheet before a ball is kicked.
11 Oct 2026 13:49:22
Jesus what are you on, wait till after the game before you throw your toys out of your prams and to hate a manager that's unbeaten shows the mentality of your comments.
If we lose then have your say, and for all of you stuck record of kean will be this and that, he's not let us down in god knows how many games lately.
11 Oct 2026 16:06:21
Well we haven't lost yet but it could be so much better. Yes Barry scored but he was back to his best at missed chances and sulking.
99.99% of our attacking play goes through Graelish. Johnson apart from the disallowed goal was a non-entity and even when George came on nothing much changed.
If Moyes keeps the same defense next week we will get hammered.
11 Oct 2026 18:39:14
Could go unbeaten all season and still finish bottom ten when your manager prioritises 0-0 over winning a game.
So yes i hate him because i believe football is entertainment. wouldn't mind one bit if we was hamstrung and had no options but he has two of the most exciting young English wingers at his disposal and refuses to play them.
He also knows the goal conceding record with Michael Keane, 2 again today.

Given the way EFC, Have been treated by the corrupt Premier League, I have serious reservation, about their good faith in their intentions to do a tougher due diligence investigation of any knew potential owners.
Not that I want the process to be strung out, I want this shower gone, but another groupe coming in to exploit us for a quick profit, is the last thing we need.

Don't forget they are leaving after building a brand new stadium andwe are now in a far better place now than a couple of years and thanks to TFG, we are now a very attractive Club for potential investors mate.
10 Oct 2026 17:56:32
Look they saw the opportunity to buy a club in turmoil at a good price. They have improved us on and off the pitch and have stabilised our debt. Yes they will make a nice bit of money out of it, but that is because we are a much better proposition for investment.
When they sell I will say thanks and good luck.
10 Oct 2026 20:25:52
Why should we worry about them getting a good return on their investment? The have steadied the club financially anat we should be grateful for that.
What we need is new owners that are around for the long run and want to run a successful club and are prepared to give the manager the funds and backing for that to happen.
The new owners also need to be good business people who will not run foul of regulations.
If the Friedkin Group can give us that type of new owner then they should have our thanks and best wishes.
11 Oct 2026 01:38:37
TFG did not build the stadium, it was almost complete before they arrived on the seen. They came in for one thing only, to make a quick big profit. They did not pay off the debts of the previous ownership, they restructured it, as for their new sponsorship deals, compared to the deals of clubs of comparable size, their deals are small beer, and on the subject of beer, the price of food and drink at HD, is rip off city.
Yes we are in a more stable environment, I just hope whoever buys them out, sees us as more than a business opertunity.
11 Oct 2026 11:32:47
All investors see opportunity to make a few quid, some right tripe posted on here.

11 Oct 2026 12:41:30
Yeah!!
09 Oct 2026 09:53:50
Ed25. Public statements are usually far from the full story.
So, reading between the lines, what is your take, on the statement just put out by the TFG.
This organisation have seemed more than willing to put their full weight behind Roma, but taken a holly different attitude towards EFC, So please, what's the real story, in your view.
{Ed025's Note - I think we are the poor relations when it comes to FSG AB. They have been fine but if they can’t take us forward then it’s best if they move on mate..

Roma are crap can't even win serie a need someone who gets their priorities right saying that the Premier League hasn't got a very good rep at the moment with all the cheating n the likes with manc corrupt var n referees.
09 Oct 2026 18:43:19
Top of the table and in the CL. Far from crap.
I think the PL could survive just fine without City. They don't even fill their stadium.
09 Oct 2026 23:25:51
Then can sell it to Man Utd for 500 million of the 1 billion fine.
09 Oct 2026 23:31:17
If City go down then a bunch of their fans will just start supporting Arsenal.
10 Oct 2026 06:35:19
Jb I've looked at their history only won scudetta 3 times in their history last time was 2000 so 26 years ago1 euro conference title 5 years ago even West ham n Crystal Palace have won since and a couple of cups so they have far less honours than us when you think of Italian football the 2 milan teams juventus and napoli are the ones I remember the only thing roma are famous for are it's hooligans remember when they came to merseyside and attacked and severely injured a Liverpool fan.
10 Oct 2026 09:18:38
Fair enough, they fall short of the obvious big guns. Not crap now though are they? They have a realistic chance of challenging for the title this season. Anyway, we want owners that will prioritise us.
10 Oct 2026 10:52:49
Looking into the proposed sale and why TFG have picked Roma over us, one thing seems to keep being said and that is winning things with (at least domestically) with Roma is loads cheaper to do than in England due to the competitiveness of our league.
I can't say if TFG ever meant to keep Everton beyond the short term, or whether they just wanted to "flip" the club and make a quick profit. What I can't argue with is that it is loads cheaper to do well in Serie A than the PL.
10 Oct 2026 13:06:11
I guess having the "big six" in the PL and not being a part of it could be a factor? Yet Roma is one of the seven sisters' clubs (Sette Sorelle) . The main 3, being Juve AC Milan and Inter, and, interestingly, Roma, have been seriously opposed to any breakaway league, apparently.
I agree with the above post about it being easier and cheaper to get success at present.
10 Oct 2026 16:11:55
100 percent profit for two years is bloody good going.
09 Oct 2026 09:13:49
Hey Ed what's your thoughts on the Everton take over mate.
{Ed025's Note - as long as we get decent owners I’m not really bothered to be honest GB. If TFG are not fully committed then they should leave as soon as possible for me mate..

09 Oct 2026 18:14:13
Yep for sure, one thing we are in a much better place now then when they took us over mate.
09 Oct 2026 12:00:38
So the Friedkins have put us up for sale which, let's face it is no surprise to anyone.
They've done a great job since taking over in giving us some stability and getting us through to moving into the new Stadium but it was clearly their only brief when taking over the club.
Hopefully, we can now get someone in to take us forward and invest further into developing revenue streams and the playing squad. I've got nothing negative over what they've done or in them selling the club. This isn't Everton when Bill sold it to Farhad or when Farhad sold it to the Friedkins.
Bring it on!

Club being valued at between £800 million an and £1 billion, nice little profit for TFG.
09 Oct 2026 12:50:24
Should be enough to pay for a new stadium for Roma!
09 Oct 2026 14:29:37
We've all spoken about Moyes being an interim fix, who has provided some much needed stability at the club, but isn't the long term solution to the progression we need.
That is exactly how I see TFG as well.
09 Oct 2026 08:46:12
Just catching up on a lot of the chat. i'm in a dull place at the minute. Have been put at risk of redundancy and my life feels like its turned upside down. Makes me realise what's important in life. Football is a way out and we've been doing alright. Hoping it continues.

Take it easy mate, life does throw the odd curve ball, but your in safe hands here. as for Everton it's like being strapped to a roller coaster sometimes but hay that's why we're Evertonians.
09 Oct 2026 10:15:01
Hang in there BlueDev. I've been there mate and it's hard to believe at the minute but things can and do get better. Try and stay positive and good luck mate.
09 Oct 2026 10:40:27
Same as what Reg said above Dev, it feels like its never going to end, but things quickly change for the better.
Keep your chin up mate.
09 Oct 2026 10:50:28
Hope you're okay dev mate just take it day by day and things will get better chin up matey.
09 Oct 2026 10:57:30
Keep chatting on here mate, it will put a smile on your face all the best for the future buddy.
09 Oct 2026 10:58:57
Best of luck turning things round Dev, hope a win on Sunday cheers you up.
09 Oct 2026 11:00:42
Been there in that same dull place, Dev, and right now you must feel totally despondent, mate.
Keep that chin up because these things will always have a turnaround of some sort; that's a promise.
09 Oct 2026 11:11:54
Keep safe Dev - Supportin EFC is probably not in any self help book ?? - see we are for sale (again)
More important things than football though pal - keep your head up - don't suppose you can play left back can you?
09 Oct 2026 11:55:13
Ride the wave, mate, you will get through this. Life is full of challenges for us to navigate and, once it's over, you will be stronger for the experience. Keep your chin up, pal.
09 Oct 2026 13:31:06
Wow what a great bunch you are. Thanks lads.
09 Oct 2026 13:34:22
I've been through redundancy myself, and you do come out the other side. It's horrible when you're in it and if it does happen to you, one thing that helped me massively was getting clued up on what I was actually entitled to. It takes a bit of the fear away when you know where you stand.
There's loads of support out there on benefits, grants, even help with things like clothing costs and I used it all when was out of work. If you go on the gov site and search "online checker for benefits after being made redundant", it brings up everything.
If you've got creditors you may stress about, speak to them early. They can freeze interest and give you breathing space. But honestly, they're not the priority, your main bills come first.
I know it's a football forum and we all argue about daft stuff, but real life things like this don't come with instructions. No one teaches you how to deal with this stuff so if this helps mate, it's worth saying.
09 Oct 2026 19:26:52
Good luck with the job situation Blue dev. I was lucky had several jobs then with the same company for 30 years. However my Dad was made redundant twice and it was no fun for the whole family.
It was what drove me to go to Salford Tech. and get a degree in Chemistry. I was determined to have a qualification to fall back on if I ended up in the same situation.
08 Oct 2026 22:02:31
Other than Myko we've got a pretty much full squad i think.
I hope Moyes doesn't go too safe and put one of our CB as a FB.
But if he does i reckon he will go with OBrien to RB and Maitland-Niles at LB.
Our strength is in midfield, think Garner at LB whilst Myko is injured, hard running and tackling, cracking player i'd reckon he'd be an excellent captain one day. Massively digressed there ha ha
Anyhow
What's your starting 11 for next game?
Im going with
Pickford
Maitland-Niles
Tarks
Branthwaite
Garner
Norgaard
Hackney
Grealish
KDH
Dibbling
Barry.
