Just back home watching full game back Newcastle v Everton after spending the day watching a non league Team and then a Championship Team game. Non league looked championship and championship non league. Dibling, Armstrong, George on the bench, McNeil in the side (what does he offer) . Where is Aznou?
28 Feb 2026 21:18:44
Correcting myself as I watch Beto's goal down to McNeil.
28 Feb 2026 23:20:42
Beto's goal down to poor goalkeeping.
28 Feb 2026 23:41:11
McNeil's shot initiated goalkeeper's fumble, Beto's reaction = goal.
01 Mar 2026 00:54:59
On his toes, good following up, exactly what we want a striker to do.
01 Mar 2026 08:47:18
It was a mistake by the keeper. Stop trying to make it any more than that. Beto's reaction to the keeper's mistake got him the goal. Next you'll be giving McNeil the assist.
01 Mar 2026 10:44:18
Why are you even arguing over a goal? Nobody's said Beto is Haaland. He scored; it does not say on the score sheet it was a tap-in or a 30-yard worldie, i.e. he was in the right place at the right time. That's what strikers should do, and he did, but he needs to do that every game, not once in a 3 month period.
28 Feb 2026 19:09:54
40 points by the end of Feb not bad for our Manager who knows nothing according to a couple on here.
28 Feb 2026 19:54:05
Great away win. Well done to the lads. Burnley at home next. I'm taking my dad, and it will be our 1st time at Bramley Moor. Hope for an entertaining draw, lol (we never seem to win at home!) .
{Ed025's Note - i hope you have a great time Witty mate..
28 Feb 2026 20:06:22
Cheers, Ed, appreciate that. My dad is 80 now. He had a quadruple bypass a couple of years back, he's doing well now, but I know that he's been longing to go to the new stadium. He's been a Blue all his life and been to some of the great games, including the 66 Cup Final.
We were both really disillusioned by the state of the club from 2017 to probably when Dyche took over. I get people's frustration with some of the results this season, but Rome wasn't built in a day and I think we have a team I'm proud to support and a manager that loves our club.
{Ed025's Note - im sure you will have a great time Witty, the ground is amazing mate..
28 Feb 2026 20:20:17
Hi Witty, please tell your Dad that I was also at the 1966 Cup Final. I hope that your Dad continues to do well. I'm just 86, and OK for an old fart.
28 Feb 2026 21:03:22
I joined up that year, Witty, nearly missed my attestation. ???
01 Mar 2026 06:24:13
Just going to say Utft Coybb.
02 Mar 2026 02:16:07
Brilliant Witty, let's hope you and your Dad are good luck charms and we get the 3pts. Have a great night Coyb!
28 Feb 2026 18:58:57
World class save from Pickers, best I've seen.
28 Feb 2026 19:07:23
That is save of the season. Genuinely incredible.
28 Feb 2026 19:13:10
Agree, GB! Thought Pickford, Branthwaite and N'Diaye were pure class today. Thought Tarks and KDH were good too. Beto had his best game for us and Barry got the winner. Always a tough place to go, with the home crowd, but thought we kept them quiet early on, and then scoring within 2 minutes each time after they equalised kept our amazing away support in fine voice.
UTFT! COYB!
28 Feb 2026 18:56:16
Just read the posts from pre match and it shows why Moyes is in charge and not is. I don't want him long term but 40 points in February is a rare joy lately.
UTFT NSNO IMWT
28 Feb 2026 19:07:56
Yep, all thanks to our illustrious manager. ????
28 Feb 2026 20:27:24
Earlier in the week a couple of posters were suggesting Eddie Howe as a suitable manager for us going forward. A large number of Newcastle supporters are apparently calling for him to be sacked.
28 Feb 2026 20:40:27
Exactly, FG, but they know best. Hmmmm.
28 Feb 2026 23:38:59
Behave, short memories here. What was the score when we played them at home? Good result today, game of two keepers. One was poor and one was brilliant.
01 Mar 2026 00:57:04
But we can all remember we're 8th in the table right?
28 Feb 2026 18:07:49
Really good game today Beto stood out, all the goals were good and a world class save from Pickers, looking better for Europe now.
28 Feb 2026 17:55:31
Been saying it for years that Pickford is the most underated keeper (by other clubs and pundits) that i have ever known.
We as a club owe that lad so much.
28 Feb 2026 21:01:05
Exactly Bob, that is why he is England's number one goalkeeper by far and nobody else in touching distance of him.
28 Feb 2026 17:52:36
Pickford Just gets better as he gets older. I know he tends to leather the ball down the pitch but surely this is something he told to do as he keeps doing it. But his saves recently have been superb.
28 Feb 2026 17:09:05
Have to say watched the match on tv, thought beto was really good today, except the one on one which could of cost us, but it didn't, thought second half mcneil and adrissa seem to just be jogging around but they dug in and we got 3 points the big 40 has been achieved, happy days.
28 Feb 2026 17:31:23
I think Beto's shot against the bar wouldn't have stood anyway. VAR would have said the ball was out of play leading up to the goal (which it clearly was) . The team dug in well, but I'm still scratching my head at McNeil playing for as long as he did.
Apart from the shot which Beto followed up, all I saw McNeil do was lose possession constantly, and he looked out of breath after 15 minutes. But it was a decent game. I thought Illiman was Man of the Match by a long way.
28 Feb 2026 17:49:23
Pickford's save in injury time was out of this world. Where would we have been without him over the years? Another 3 points gained because of his brilliance.
28 Feb 2026 17:58:57
He won us 2pts with that save. The more you see it, the more impressive it is.
28 Feb 2026 18:03:36
Just saw the goals. Are we genuinely going to give Barry credit for that last goal? It looked like he fell over, it hit him and went in. Beto reacted well for his goal, and Branthwaite had no right squeezing one in from that angle! Pickford was world class again.
It took two deflections to beat him, and that save in injury time was something else indeed. Just wished we'd do this at home and win some games in front of a full stadium.
28 Feb 2026 18:32:32
Agree, Pickford's save in injury time was brilliant. Good win today. COYB.
28 Feb 2026 18:33:36
The ball hit Barry last, and went in the net, so yeah, it is his goal. If he hadn't been there, we wouldn't have scored the winner. According to the Sky Sports panel, if it hadn't gone in, it would have been a penalty. We all know he's crap, but having a pop when he scores a winning goal is a bit much.
28 Feb 2026 21:05:02
Wasn't meaning it as an insult to the lad. Thought his goal against Villa was class, but this one, he (and we) got a bit lucky. It struck the back of his leg as he was on the floor.
They all count, but it didn't feel like he intended it. If he did that r often instead of his real attempts, he could get to double figures this season.
28 Feb 2026 23:49:08
I couldn't care less where the ball hits him as long as it goes in the net. If he hadn't been pushed to the ground, he would probably have tapped it into the net. Definitely a penalty if he didn't make contact with the ball.
01 Mar 2026 15:12:20
It definitely hit him on the backside before going in. But he reacted faster than Hall, and if it didn't go in off Barry, we would've had a penalty, as he was pushed and half wrestled, causing him to fall.
28 Feb 2026 17:07:23
So many of these posts aged well ??? love it. This is why we're football fans and Moyes is an actual qualified football manager. Set up for a 0-0 my ***
40 points in February with something to fight for UTFT ??.
28 Feb 2026 17:18:49
I agree. We moan when we lose and love them when we win. If you want bad nerves, you definitely need to support Everton.
{Ed025's Note - i actually enjoyed the game BP, we played well but think we were a bit negative second half...a bit like me mate.. :)
28 Feb 2026 17:49:33
Delighted with the win. Delighted we have reached 40 points. I feel like Moyes will now be praised for the crap selection. Too many times, his selection has resulted in disaster (mostly at home) . Why can we only win on the road? I just wish he'd kept us in a cup so we had silverware to play for.
