If we continue in this vein of form, towards the last few games could the young Irish lad we signed from Linfield get a go from the bench? He could hardly do any worse than Barry Chuckle.
25 Mar 2026 08:19:02
Probably not no.
24 Mar 2026 06:42:52
Morning, my fellow Evertonians. So over this international break after our cracking demolition of Chelsea. What do we reckon about T Barry and his future with this great club of ours? Do we stuck or twist, as we definitely won't get anything close to the money we shelled out? Does he have a future with our club? Be interested to hear the views of my fellow Evertonians and, in particular, the match going fans that have seen him live.
{Ed025's Note - i know hes still young TB but i just dont see a player there mate, if we could get any sort of money for him i would let him go..
24 Mar 2026 11:09:30
I'd personally loan him out back to Spain, hopefully find some form and we can sell him for a bit more money, we'd get more for Beto than Barry at the moment.
I'd like us to get Richy back, he can play left and right side, plus down the middle and also another striker, but who is anyone's guess, and I'd sell Beto, he's done his best, but going forward we need better.
24 Mar 2026 12:09:48
I'd have Richy back in a heartbeat as well, Bp, but want at least one new striker as well, mate.
24 Mar 2026 12:26:00
I believe Barry started his career as a centre back and someone suggested he move to centre forward. Wonder why?
He needs to be sold or loaned out for next season, where he would play more often and see how much he has developed in the meantime.
An alternative is to get Duncan Ferguson to have time with him.
But as GB says, we still need a new striker and I am not sure Delap would be the answer despite reported interest.
24 Mar 2026 13:24:13
What about Mateta, I know he spat his dummy out, but he's still a player who would make us a lot better, and he's a unit.
24 Mar 2026 13:31:04
They probably moved Barry from centre back to centre forward as he is too much of a p***y to put a tackle in. :0)
24 Mar 2026 14:10:56
Mateta would certainly improve us, mate.
24 Mar 2026 16:56:16
Barry needs gone. He's good at nothing.
Richarlison - loved him, but don't think he's the answer - very patchy goal scoring record.
I don't know the answer and nobody jumps to mind - we need a bit of fortune though in the striker department as have had a lot of misses - Troy Parrott as a punt would be a shout.
Just as important to finally get a Rt back - Ben White may fancy a move and would be an upgrade for sure.
24 Mar 2026 17:58:14
I don't really think we should be going half-arsed when looking for a new striker e.g. Parrott, Pepi or Delap. They will cost anywhere between the 25-35m mark, and I don't think any of them are that good a goal scorer. Plenty of better options in and around that price.
We have seen Delap struggle for Chelsea, and the other two haven't tasted anything like PL level before.
I would rather us really invest in the position to find somebody who can still put in a 7/10 performance for us, even if he doesn't find the onion bag.
50m +
- Samu Aghehowa (Porto)
- Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth)
35-50m
- Fisnik Asllani (Hoffenheim)
- Ange-Yoan Bonny (Inter)
- Jonathan Burkardt (Frankfurt)
- Romulo Cardoso (RBL)
- Georges Mikautadze (Villareal) . Give them Barry back.
Below 35m
- Nikola Krstovic (Atalanta)
- Joaquin Panichelli (Strasbourg)
- Mateo Pellegrino (Parma) .
24 Mar 2026 18:49:36
Think we should loan Barry to get experience and bump up his price as he ain't going to increase his value playing as he does for us.
If he learns to play, give him another try. If we get better, which I hope we do, then sell him to get some money back.
{Ed025's Note - i will buy a ticket for that BR..
24 Mar 2026 20:00:49
There will be some serious money for DM this coming window, think we will see some very good recruits arriving.
24 Mar 2026 20:13:45
Barry and Beto are both similar players, neither are good at holding the ball but prefer to run onto a ball as we saw on Saturday. If we play to their strengths, we get more from them. We also need a striker capable of playing off them and winning the second ball. Should we play the long ball out and look for knock ons?
25 Mar 2026 05:49:43
If another club wants him, and the money is somewhere near the price we paid, then sell him. We all know that as much as like them, and they give everything for the shirt, they are not what we want at this level.
23 Mar 2026 19:10:49
Cheeky bid for Foden anyone?
{Ed025's Note - good player BR but not a fan of his attitude mate, seems a bit of a big time charlie to me..
23 Mar 2026 21:53:04
He is a bad egg Ed. I know some personal insight about him from one of his ex-colleagues. Not a man of integrity, let's just say that.
{Ed025's Note - he comes across like that BN, i seen a video of his mother fighting a while back while at a boxing match...and i suspect the apple does not fall far from the tree mate..
24 Mar 2026 06:46:47
He is a luxury type of player, not sure of his true position.
24 Mar 2026 18:53:49
Didn't realise that, BN. Don't want to upset the apple cart.
22 Mar 2026 14:21:51
Just watched our match again today from yesterday, and we totally outplayed Chelsea attacking from the start. So a big thank you to DM for getting the Team playing so well. Reading he will get some serious cash in the summer transfer window, Everton is now n a very good place. Well chuffed and loving our footy.
22 Mar 2026 15:13:27
3 very good saves from Pickford. We played very well.
22 Mar 2026 15:48:48
Yep, whole team are playing well. Well chuffed with all the lads, that was some game.
22 Mar 2026 20:34:47
I hope we start to click now; we've a couple of important games coming up. Win those and we are likely in Europe next season. What competition depends on Roma and whether we have declared that thing you need to declare to prevent one owner of two teams in the same comp.
22 Mar 2026 14:03:28
Would anyone here take Estupinian the left back who used to be at Brighton? From memory he was very good and doesn’t appear to be getting much game time at AC Milan. Got to be an upgrade on Mykolenko?
22 Mar 2026 16:58:39
He was one of the best full backs in the league a few seasons ago, then fell away, picked up a few injuries. Could do a lot worse.
23 Mar 2026 05:46:10
We have an 'upgrade' on Mykolenko in Aznou, although for me he is more of a lwb.
22 Mar 2026 11:26:19
Interesting how the season has progressed. Many times during the first half of the season we have allowed the opposition to dominate possession for the first half of the game, showing more respect to the opposition than was deserved, leading to lost points at home. Since we reached sufficient points and presumably safety, we have been more aggressive from the start and the team seems to have more belief in themselves and has flourished especially yesterday.
I believe that Moyes is learning, not being afraid to lose and he and the team are beginning to realize that we have a core of some very good players and that we can attack well as well as defend.
Yes, we have positions that need addressing like striker and full-backs but continue to have the self-belief and the game tactics that we showed yesterday and we can get points from any team and Europe is within our reach.
22 Mar 2026 12:17:12
Agree, it was nice to see the team pressing high up the pitch, putting the pressure on them, and it nearly paid off when Beto had a chance. Hopefully, this continues in all our remaining home games now.
22 Mar 2026 18:14:21
He's just pragmatic, which has served us well since he arrived. No one wants the regular battle at the bottom. Will it ever win us something? Doubt it.
Much thanks to him, though, for steering us clear of the worry of relegation.
22 Mar 2026 18:38:02
He won WHU a European title. He's pragmatic, but with a decent summer recruitment, I feel he could win us a cup next year.
22 Mar 2026 20:36:05
Would like to see that, PHH.
Pickford alone deserves to win something with us.
23 Mar 2026 03:35:27
If we lose our next two games, Moyes for the sack, & the players are s****. The joys of being an Evertonian. 😂
We are two seasons & maybe four players away from a team that can challenge for the top five.
Moyes has brought stability, & his first priority was progress. I think we all agree he's ticked both boxes. Let's see how he's backed in the summer & judge him at the end of next season.
UTFT NSNO IMWT.
23 Mar 2026 08:28:50
Feels to me like this game was a complete shift in attitude. We have been cautious all season, always fearful of being sucked into that relegation tussle in what is a very congested mid-table.
Moyes, for the first time I've heard this season, actually said we are now definitely targeting Europe, and we played like that.
When we went 1-0 up, we kept going for it and showed that we can push harder without leaving ourselves vulnerable at the back.
Gueye seems like a player reborn playing alongside Garner. He is so much intent on getting the ball forward, which seems like such a small change, but for me that's the change that affects everything.

22 Mar 2026 19:33:33
Top notch as always, BN. Enjoyable read, and plenty of valid points, mate.
I'd say McNeil has looked more like the player he was in previous seasons in the last few games. I really believe his drop off in form was due to the serious illness his Mrs. was going through. Hopefully she is healthier now and he can kick on from here. We need them all to continue to up their game and grind out the results that can propel us into Europe.
23 Mar 2026 13:50:04
Cheers, BP.
Fingers crossed it is behind them, mate. Can't be easy to deal with. Hopefully, the improvement in his form allows us to recoup the transfer fee we spent on him, as I would still like to see him moved on, and get somebody in with more footballing ability. If only we could clone Ndiaye, hey mate.
22 Mar 2026 00:24:29
I mean how bad was that performance? Just couldn't get going, sloppy passes and out muscled many times off the ball. But enough about Chelsea.
Beto getting a brace I totally didn't expect to see especially after witnessing a lot of his play early on in the game which was poor. He is good at 1v1 normally and for the first goal it showed. He got lucky with his second goal but we'll take it regardless. Garner's through ball was absolutely sublime for the first goal. James Garner totally deserves his recent England call up as he's been arguably our best player this season.
Jordan Pickford made some spectacular saves to keep the clean sheet alive and refused to be beaten.
All the players deserve some praise for the performance and they stuck to the game plan. It could possibly be seem the best performance this season maybe? It was certainly a very good result for us. Back down to 8th after the Brentford v Leeds draw after going 7th earlier on but still in with a good chance to push for Europe. Hopefully we can finish in those places and strengthen the squad come the summer. We still have something to play for and Moyes wants it as much as the fans.
22 Mar 2026 00:19:56.
Beto played well, and not just his goals, by contrast Barry was dreadful, just wondered around, no tackles, no purposeful running, almost an air of disinterest, and that is exactly the same as his "contribution" against Arsenal, had we left Beto on think we might have come away with a point.
So if we are going to move one of our strikers in the summer, for me Barry would be first out the door.
22 Mar 2026 10:08:07
Makes you wonder why he bothered bringing him on.
