Really happy about Papa Gueye signing BN, good player mate.
14 Jul 2026 17:43:13
Can't agree more, GB - even more so now it appears that Idrissa will not be staying.
Big, strong, powerful and can play a bit. I think it is useful that him and Jimmy will be able to rotate quite nice in terms of if one bombs on and the other sits in.
Onwards and upwards, mate!
14 Jul 2026 18:19:07
I think this shows that nobody other than the club really knows who we are going to sign. Do yourselves a favour next time you read Newsnow or any other wild story and have a look at the journalist's profile. That will tell you all you need to know.
14 Jul 2026 19:04:00
Just rumours. Nothing in any press or media. Believe it when or if he signs.
14 Jul 2026 22:25:59
Newsnow. 🤣🤣🤣
14 Jul 2026 22:22:48
When did he sign.
14 Jul 2026 23:54:09
I mean this was rumoured quite heavily during the WC and after their exit, so not sure about NewsNow, like.
I didn't know he hadn't signed. I was in work and read GB's post, and thought he must have.
It does sound a lot like the endings of the Hackney deal though, so wouldn't be surprised if he did come in, and he absolutely stinks of a Moyes signing.
6ft 3 powerhouse for the spine.
Personally I hope we take Inao Oulai away from Fiorentina, but he is 20 so no chance Moyes chooses him.
14 Jul 2026 11:16:27
Just read on the goodish news gossip pages we've agreed a deal with Papa Gueue 28 million, anyone else heard anything or is this just more rubbish.
14 Jul 2026 16:33:03
Nope I've read it loos a goer mate.

Next seasons squad with £100 million to spend this summer + money made from sales. Aimed to keep realistic here but also fill our squad out.
Pickford
Ørjan Nyland - 35 year old Norwegian keeper. Better than Travers or King. Very good WC bar the Bellingham spill. Knows the country after his spells in England. Out of contract so will be cost effective.
Omar El Hilali - 18-25m. 22 year old Moroccan RB for Espanyol. 1 year left on his deal so his fee may have even come down further from our interest last year. Robust and reliable enough to make RB his own for 38 games a season.
Rico Lewis - 25-30m. Rumoured to be surpluse to requirements at City. Can play RB, RWB, Inverted full back or CDM. Great age and good schooling under Pep.
James Hill - 25m. 24 years old Bournemouth CB. Bournemouth bought him for under 2 million from Fleetwood and they like to sell for a profit. Really like this lad and started watching him when they had him filling in at RB. He had a blinder against us last season as well.
JB
Jake O'Brien, Tark & Keane as back ups in that order.
Archie Brown - 12-15m. 24 years old Fenerbahce LB. 6ft 3, big and fast powerful runner. Would offer an out ball to whoever is on our left flank.
Diouf - 20-25m
Myko
Inao Oulai - 25-30m. 20 years old Trabzonspor CDM. Should never be guilty of buying off a WC but this lad looks absolutely tremendous and is exactly the type of player that will have another year of exposure and then double in value and probably sign for a top CL club.
Jimmy
Hackney
Rohl
KDH
Grealish - 15-20m.
George
Ndiaye
Dibling
Kofane - 35-40m. 19 year old Bayer Leverkusen Striker. Replace Barry like it never happened. This lad has everything that you would like Barry to have. Granted, still a gamble but so is anyone that comes in. Just look at Thiago and how well that has aged.
Beto
Total - 210m max.
Sell:
Travers - 5m
Patterson - 8m
Myko - 15-20 m
Tim - 18m
McNeil - 15m
Barry - 30m
Total - 85-96m max
£115m spent. Other than Rico Lewis and Grealish, those players will be on peanuts at their current clubs and wouldn't bring the wages up silly amounts.
Strongest 11:
Pickford
El Hilali/Lewis
Hill
JB
Diouf
Inao Oulai
Jimmy
KDH
Ndiaye
Kofane
Grealish
Subs:
Nyland
Lewis/El Hilali
O'B
Brown
Hackney
Rohl
George
Dibling
Beto
A full bench of decent options and not a 3rd GK in sight. Bliss.
14 Jul 2026 10:11:14
No mention of a manager. 😂😂
14 Jul 2026 11:25:15
Cruel, but true, give him a role upstairs, and a young manager with drive, and the guts to change things when a game plan is not working.
14 Jul 2026 11:35:38
Don't want him upstairs or anywhere near the club. Upstairs doing what exactly?
14 Jul 2026 13:04:51
Making brews and feather dusting, Skylark!
14 Jul 2026 13:29:47
I don't think there will be any change of manager, despite your wishful thinking, Skylark!
14 Jul 2026 14:41:17
Unfortunately, I agree, mate, probably just another season gone by, and we will stay stuck in the mud, with more money lost, no trophy and mid table mediocrity, but at least we aren't fighting relegation, and Sir Moyes will get a chance of going upstairs, and keep poking his nose in where it's not wanted.
14 Jul 2026 14:51:53
Moyes will be Scotland manager when he leaves here.
14 Jul 2026 16:22:58
Poor Scotland, got to feel for them.
14 Jul 2026 17:21:29
Just got to try and be optimistic, mate. If we can bring in better quality players, we might see a difference in the way the team plays. If not, and we do bring quality in, but DM doesn't do anything with them, then you will get your wish before Christmas, I reckon.
{Ed025's Note - i have already posted my letter to Santa BP.. :)
14 Jul 2026 22:59:59
£30m for Barry.. What foolish club would pay around that for him.. Oh, wait..
14 Jul 2026 23:17:18
😂😂😂 ed25 😂 could be premature that mate!
{Ed025's Note - i put that request in as well mate.. :)
13 Jul 2026 17:45:59
Imagine that, Villa are losing a leftback as PSG have met the release clause and they already identified a replacement.
13 Jul 2026 18:54:42
It worries me to hear Newcastle and Villa are selling players, given how they have had success over the last few seasons. I hope it's not PSR related, otherwise we are all doomed except the breakaway 6.
Come on HD Stadium.. rake in the money.
13 Jul 2026 20:00:39
My only hope, BR, is that there are no changes to their revenue stream, whereas with us we have big changes with the stadium move. I'm hoping that might offer us a bit of a leg up on money matters.
13 Jul 2026 23:07:31
Agreed, Ace. It would seem pointless to rebuild and end up selling anyone worthwhile to stay afloat.
The footballing landscape is changing and I wonder where we will be in 5-10 years time.
To be fair, I worry where we will be at the end of the upcoming season, so it's pretty pointless looking 5 years up the road.
14 Jul 2026 09:25:51
Football is going to hell in a handcart. It's all about who has the most money and who are allowed to spend it. It's rigged so that those with the most now will be the only ones to have it for the next 25 or more years.
Newcastle owners are among the richest in the world, but can't spend it due to PSR in case they go bust. The powers that be are determined to keep the same at the top table and are terrified of another Man City coming along.
13 Jul 2026 13:52:08
Everton’s pursuit of a new right-back is more likely to be concluded closer to deadline day (Tuesday, September 1) than the start of the season, according to journalist Paul Bradshaw, who reports the club are playing the long game in the hope of striking a cheaper deal for Guela Doue.
I really hope this is just paper talk. What say my fellow Evertonians?
13 Jul 2026 15:04:13
Many factors, Toff. I'm sure there're a few irons in the fire. I guess we need to trim the squad and the wage bill as much as anything else. Get Patterson and McNeil gone for a start. More we recoup, more likely we are to get a premium right back. Suppose players like Doue are also holding out to see who comes in for them.
13 Jul 2026 15:11:14
I can't believe, given the fact we've needed a right back for six windows, that we have not got one already. It should have been our first signing. What a joke.
13 Jul 2026 15:18:18
Totally agree, Swinners, trouble is, teams probably realise how desperate we are for one and start loading the fee.
We cannot start another season with a makeshift RB otherwise we will soon be found out yet again.
13 Jul 2026 17:43:58
We need to bring in a rightnack consultant, I've heard we are interviewing end of August.
13 Jul 2026 19:39:51
Sounds to me like we have identified a number of RBs, Doue is our preference, but we believe we are being asked to pay over the odds - we are therefore trying to hold out for a lower free knowing there are other cheaper options still available. For me that sounds like sensible recruitment.
14 Jul 2026 08:04:50
You can't force clubs to sell you their players, and you can't have a pop at the club if they won't pay more than what they believe the player is worth. I mean, look at the Dibling transfer. People still moaning about that one and have written the poor lad off based on it.
Need to sit back and wait and see what happens. Football is a business now, and despite people thinking we can sign this player or that player, that is not how it works anymore.
13 Jul 2026 13:51:03.
I hope this is just paper talk. In my humble opinion this is the position should have been either recruited first or at least after we acquired Hackney. This position is stopping us from progressing as a balanced team. We can't keep looking to be a top eight team but playing a defender in the fullbacks positions.
What say my fellow?
Everton’s pursuit of a new right-back is more likely to be concluded closer to deadline day (Tuesday September 1) than the start of the season, according to journalist Paul Bradshaw, who reports the club are playing the long game in the hope of striking a cheaper deal for Guela Doue.
13 Jul 2026 13:00:17
Lucas Digne £10m release clause, go and get him back.
13 Jul 2026 15:12:28
How old is he? He was good for us, but is he that much better than Mykolenko!! The Club are not concerned about left back, besides, what do we do with Aznou?
13 Jul 2026 15:51:46
He is 32, soon to be 33.
Is he much better than Mykolenko? Well, he is playing in a WC for France (arguably the best team in the world) , and they are on course to lift the trophy.
He won the Europa League with Villa last year.
He has won leagues and cups in multiple European leagues.
Mykolenko, 1 assist last year. Digne, 7 and in 1000 less minutes of football.
Yes, I would say it is safe to say that he is better than Mykolenko.
Give me Baines over Mykolenko now, never mind Digne.
13 Jul 2026 18:39:22
Baines wasn't that good a lb, he was more a wb, and had Peanuts in front of him. Together they sewed up the left, I could have watched those two all day and night. What about Aznou.
13 Jul 2026 21:31:45
Possibly the boldest statement ever made on here to say Baines isn't that good of a LB.
Opinions, I'm sure, but one I have to completely disagree with. LB was one of the best left back the Premier League has seen.
13 Jul 2026 22:32:02
Digne is a much better fullback than Myko without a shadow of a doubt. I wouldn't bring him back, but he is a far superior player.
As for Baines not being a very good left back, really? The lad was awesome, and would have had plenty more caps if it wasn't for Ashley Cole being around at the same time. A combination of a lack of confidence in his own ability and shyness held him back in his first season, but he excelled once settled in.
I think Dibbling could be similar to Baines in that department, and I'm hoping he has bedded in properly now. A full pre-season should stand him in good stead. I've seen a few pics from training, and he is smiling a lot more than he has since he came. Hopefully that's a good sign.
13 Jul 2026 23:15:01
Not even going to reply to the Baines comment but yes, them two together were magnificent.
I can't comment on Aznou as we have seen so little in an Everton shirt. But I would play him in pre-season, and if he is better than Myko and Moyes still doesn't pick him, Moyes should get the sack.
I think Mykolenko is terrible though. I think he is stealing a living and should be nowhere near a PL team that has aspirations of competing for trophies or European positions.
Second those thoughts on Dibling BP. I don't think I have wanted a player to succeed at us quite like him. I remember my Dad & Brother slating Jimmy when he first came in, but I had watched him a lot at Forest, seen his IQ of the game and ability to be comfortable in most/all scenarios on a football pitch, hence why he finds it so easy to play multiple positions.
Hopefully he stays. Wouldn't be surprised if someone came in for him.
14 Jul 2026 12:33:54
Baines wasn't that good a left back. Do you really think that dms?
Baines was an outstanding left back, not a wing back. Unfortunately for him, but probably to our benefit, Baines played at the same time as Ashley Cole. Otherwise he would've had many more caps for England and may well have had his head turned for a team winning trophies.
As for opinions on Mykolenko or Digne.
Give me Digne every day of the week and twice on a Sunday over Mykolenko. I'm still waiting on someone telling me what they see in Mykolenko. He and the lack of a right back are the positions in our team that are the easiest to strengthen.
I don't know what's happening with Aznou, but if he's no better than Mykolenko then loan or sell him and get an improved left back.
13 Jul 2026 12:45:58
Hi everyone new on here. Any news on Grealish and the right back situation? I'd love us to sign Djed Spence but I can dream, but what a player, just what we need.
13 Jul 2026 14:45:00
Won't be any news now, until September 1st.
13 Jul 2026 08:54:51
Still see Gana Gueye is on the player photos. They have added in Hackney, so looks as though he possibly will be staying.
13 Jul 2026 11:38:24
Probably doesn't mean anything knowing Everton, use an old photo and Photoshop in Hackney, I can do that easily.
13 Jul 2026 13:37:53
The photo of Hackney is new. They have added into the first team player profile pics. Gana is still there, but not an Everton player technically.
