I think the decisions were right to be fair. Blatant penalty for O’Brien. Barry seems to know he want score so has started flinging himself down at any opportunity- possibly kick in leg but wouldn’t be happy if that was against us.

We are toothless up front that’s the problem - Barry is hopeless and is out of his depth - don’t care if he makes runs / tries hard - he never looks like scoring - no other PL club would be happy with him so call it what it is - he is shocking - on a par with Sandro/ Beto / Naisse / Maupay

Garner has gone of the boil. Grealish held it up for too long and needed to speed it up. everyone is marked by the time he releases it- thought he was poor tonight but usually top class

Though defence was solid against a very good team

Said in the chat Dibling / Barry / Alcaraz all Moyes signings - 70 million and offer nothing

Been beaten on all 6 occasions by the top 4 teams - Moyes needs to find a way and that way has to start by getting a front man who can score - same problems year after year (rt back / striker )

I didn't think it was a pen and would be miffed off if it was given against us. but the commentators said on a another day that it would of been given so what are the rules. if your a top 4 club you get them decisions or its just us that gets nothing.

We are already aware of how sh** he is on the right. If you want to play him, play him on the left or 10. He had his first 25+ games for us on the right and was dreadful. Lampard moved him onto the left and his numbers dramatically improved.

You could spot this 11 a mile off though, let’s face it.

I would take Grealish off and rest him for the games that matter.

Not a defeatist by any means but the cards were certainly stacked against us tonight, even more so when you’ve got air heads like O’Brien making decisions like that. The mind boggles.

These will sit and control now, knowing how toothless we are. Game all but over, unless a freak occurrence like an OG or red card.

We all know the clubs situation regarding the loss of players due to African Nations and injuries.
Is there anything in the rules where Armstrong could be recalled to the club at the start of the transfer window and then returned to Preston on the last day of the transfer window.
If it is allowed, both clubs should be happy with the situation, Everton have a player back while others return from injury or African nations and Preston have him for the rest of the season.

Otherwise bring him back when the window opens to stay.

{Ed001's Note - there is nothing to stop it happening. Liverpool a few years back had injuries at right-back, so recalled Ramsay from loan at the beginning of Jan and then sent him back to where he has been again at the end of Jan.}

Our targets should be players like Conor Gallagher, Kobbie Mainoo, Ben White, Dovbyk, Che Adams, Chilwell, These next transfer windows are vital for progression, we need to make difficult decisions on letting players like Patterson, Coleman, McNeill etc go to bring a better level of player to compete for Europe.

Dovbyk does very well to make it into that list but Che Adams? I would rather go and pay Leeds for DCL Domingo.

Roma are searching for a strike and they want to swap someone already in their ranks for Beto. If it was the Dovbyk who was at Girona I could understand it a little bit more but he has been shocking for Roma. He has 9 league goals since 2025 in a far weaker league. He can't run and his finishing is alarming.

Gallagher will move to a team much higher than us, as will probably be the case for Mainoo. No chance Ben White moves and certainly not to us. As for Chilwell, must be about 4 years too late. The lad hasn't managed past 20/25 appearances in a season since 2021.

If this brand new scouting and recruitment team that we have hired comes up with those as their main targets, I will start following the women's team mate.
