Just watching the 3rd draw and I think that teams in Europe can't play against each other is a load of nonsense.

Unless I'm being Stupid would this solution work?
They draw round 1&2&3 at the same time.

If the teams in Europe get drawn against each other when they enter in round 3 can't they just play their 3rd round game when round 2 is on and then play in round 4 when everyone else does?
Am I missing something and then at least no one gets an advantage?

Sounds very complicated and also I like draw when you don't know who you are getting - drawing 3rd round on day 1 spoils the draw for me.

I don't care who the opposition is, if for example.. Kroupi Jnr from Bournemouth was scoring like this would be raving about him. Let's give Thierno the credit he deserves for how he has started this season.

Four goals, one assist in two games.

Absolutely, three goals, no complaints. It was great to see us doing so much attacking and quick passing. Looking forward to the Bournemouth game.

Looks like we have ed 🤣🤣🤣

He was awesome today. His movement has improved massively, yes, he's a big, clumsy oaf at times, but he's scoring goals, which is his job.

Armstrong, by the way, looks like a £100m player in the making.

I'm not sure what people are judging him on this season, yes, he was horrendous last season, but give the lad credit, he's scoring, that's all you can ask. I remember we used to slate Lukaku for having the touch of an elephant, but Barry is getting better, I don't care what anyone says, but let's hope he can keep it going.

The lad has started well and looks a lot better.

His goal against Palace was going out for a throw in, and 2 goals tonight were 5 yards out and open net; however, his movement to get in the space for both was probably the most promising thing about the goals. The other one he showed good instinct to get the rebound, and the assist was meant for Ndiaye.

There was a moment where he was played in on the edge of their box and 1v1 with the last defender.

He didn't attempt to get at his man and drive in the box, instead he had a tame effort straight at the keeper.

It is much better for us that he is scoring goals, of course, but he has a long way to go before I change my opinion that he is the answer to our no9 problems.

They were shocking tonight, we can't forget that.

He's not on the wing and playing centrally. It's no surprise that if you get in and around the six yard box, you get more goals.

Let's give him credit where it is due but remember it was against a championship side. He said at the start of the season he wanted to work harder and write off last season - looks like he's trying.

Still think we need another striker, RB and LB (and a cover CB if Job goes) . Thought we looked good on the wings and Johnson's pace was blistering.

Do we resign Grealish? I'm not sure.

The lad will never win it. We can find fault when he scores a hat trick. If it was Barry rather than Ndiaye who was through in goal and never even got a shot off, he would be getting even more pelters.

Ndiaye should have scored, and it was poor from him, but nobody calls it Gary Lineker for scoring most of his goals in the six yard box.

I'm still not convinced by Barry, but one thing is certain, he's pushed Beto out from starting. I now pray we sell Beto for what we paid and get another striker in.
God forbid Moyes ever plays 2 up front!
I'd be happy with our preferred choice at rb Guela Doue and a loan striker, maybe Jesus, who is a clinical forward.

Gary Lineker was a top level finisher on a consistent basis.

No one is finding fault and has given him credit for tonight. They just refuse to get carried away when he scores a few tap-ins against a very bad Championship side. It is simply a bit of context.

Moyes out.

No, we just wanted him to change his tactics from the defensive crap we saw last season, and going by the first two games he has. No good debating the reasons, but now we have some exciting young players who can get us off our seats, and, more importantly, win games and long may it continue.

65 million for Jackson to Villa. You’d have to think there’s shenanigans at play. 😂😂😂😂😂

COYB Enjoying us go for it, usually we sit back in these type of games.

Can someone tell me when we last cruised into the 3rd round of the EFL Cup?

26 Aug 2026 22:52:18
It was 1912, I remember it well.

Not sure why the opinion seems to have changed on Munoz.

Works his b******* off. Relentless runner. 8 goals and 14 assists in 70 odd games of PL football. Scored 2 goals for his country at the WC just gone.

Absolute no brainer of a signing, although Doue would be the best business due to his age and overall ability.

I wonder if something has gone on in the background with O'Brien. I can't think of any other reason we would pick Keane ahead of him.

26 Aug 2026 20:37:17
I think he had an opinion.

Probably sulking.

Sunderland now pushing for a deal late in the window for Grealish.

0

26 Aug 2026 20:10:57
I think we are done for this window, doesn't look like we can get the players we want for less than £10m.

26 Aug 2026 20:34:07
No way, mate.

26 Aug 2026 21:23:33
Stop thinking.

26 Aug 2026 19:35:47
Well Delap going to Forest, Jackson to Villa.. Whether we were seriously interested who knows, but the transfer window and these players are passing us by. I'm wondering how much money we really have to spend! Because it appears we can't compete with anyone at the moment!

1

26 Aug 2026 22:34:58
Would you have been happy to pay those fees for them two? I certainly wouldn't!!

26 Aug 2026 19:30:37
If Moyes has not seen that Tarkowski and Keane together is a joke then the season is doomed. Beating Preston may boost their confidence. It will not mean they are good enough for the Premiership - can understand one replacing the other as they did at Burnley but O’Brien or his replacement needs to play when Branthwaite rested or injured.

There was enough evidence to know this last season but as usual Moyes knows best.

He does.
