Hey Eds,

Everything has just gone a little quiet on the Mykolenko front, is there any problems or are we just waiting for the 1st of January to announce the deal?

Merry Christmas everybody, stay safe and have fun.

{Ed002's Note - The transfer window is currently closed so the club will not be making any formal announcement until such things as International clearance has been provided.}

1.) 24 Dec 2021 20:06:56
Jeez!

04 Oct 2020 17:54:36
Everyone seems to have forgotten about Ben Godfrey lol. Are we expecting an imminent announcement?

1.) 04 Oct 2020 19:17:29
Only passed his medical yesterday so in usual Everton fashion expect his signing to be announced mid week.

2.) 04 Oct 2020 19:26:11
Think we have learnt now there is no rushing these announcements with EFC.
He is our player and quality - we only seem to be a right back (as Coleman can’t play all season and Kenny is weak) , keeper and forward short of an excellent team.
Best squad I can remember in years if not decades

Digne, James, Richarlison, DCL, Decore would get in any team in the league - hopefully Allan will be similar but not seen much of him.
Centre backs - we are well covered

Come on Villa!

3.) 04 Oct 2020 19:57:08
Best 'looking' team since the 80'S, Only time will tell however let's enjoy, as we as Evertonians bloody well deserve a bit of 'Fluid easy on the eye footy' 🤩.

4.) 05 Oct 2020 00:22:38
Could Godfrey not do a job at right back as he is supposedly very pacey. Maybe we was thinking that and sell jonjoe? Holgate can play there also.

29 Jan 2020 21:08:12
Do the Eds know if Barcelona might come back with another bid for Richarlison? Any info would be great please.

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps in the summer.}

1.) 29 Jan 2020 21:33:39
Thank you.

2.) 29 Jan 2020 22:28:34
Everton have denied they have received any bids from Barcelona.

3.) 29 Jan 2020 23:20:05
Maybe we’re waiting to see if they offer any players as part of a deal.
As Ed’s have said previously swap deals are very unusual.
However with it being so close to the window closing may be that’s the only way we’d progress on a deal if a player was offered as well as some cash, rakitic anyone?

4.) 30 Jan 2020 10:03:16
No Thanks, rather keep Ricky for the foreseeable future. Isn't Rakitic on something like £200k per week as well? If so it would kill our wage structure even if we could afford it.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 20:14:24
I would guess that if there has been real interest in him from Barca, then he will do what most players do and become as disruptive as possible to force a move. Playing for the likes of Barcelona is an opportunity that doesn't come along too often and you can't blame a player for wanting it. the question is how disruptive? The last thing we want is a miserable player hanging around feeling he is being prevented an opportunity. yes I know he was happy enough to sign a contract with us but remember he already had one at Watford.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think i have ever seen him smile on the pitch degsy.. :)

11 Jul 2019 09:16:51
Diego Costa? So torn on these reports. Are reports true that the deal is moving forward please Eds?

{Ed002's Note - try searching - I have explained the situation..}

1.) 11 Jul 2019 16:34:36
With VAR next season I don’t think he would be playing much and could take that edge he has out of his game then you end up with a older version of Tosun 🤷🏽‍♂️ Think Moshiri should let brands do his job 🤞🏼.

2.) 11 Jul 2019 20:45:55
Hi Ed if rumours are right looks like Lookman and gueye poss going two more out the door yet no transfers in r we leaving it to late do u think there will b some panic signings looks like we not getting neres ow many more will we not get hope marcel and Marco no what they doing thought we would have few more signings by now have u heard of any developments with potential signings yet any good news would b appreciated lol.

{Ed025's Note - the AFCON is having a lot to do with things whitey but there is no need to panic, gueye wont be going anywhere unless we have a replacement nailed on, irons are in fires and we have to trust marcel to get it right, im sure that over the next couple of weeks we will see some exciting activity mate..

3.) 12 Jul 2019 10:51:12
I agree Ed no need to panic about players going out. We don't need to sell to balance the books anymore (thankfully) and can afford to keep our best players. If Gueye went I wouldn't be fussed I'd have the confidence that the right player would be coming in as a replacement.

Just the defence that worries me. The player has already gone out and I really don't think he will be coming back.

{Ed025's Note - i agree chris zouma will be a terrible loss, but as they say they are all just transient employees and will come and go at all clubs mate, its just a matter of getting the right replacement..

28 Jan 2019 21:53:50
Gana is pushing for a move according to reports, can't blame him this is his chance at a big move. Let's get some fresh blood in. a.

1.) 28 Jan 2019 22:38:42
Yes I saw it on skysports as well mate he's desperate to go to PSG can't blame him at his age but 21 mil u got be having a laugh he be going no where if PSG don't put a realistic offer and an offer that reflects gana true value instead of trying to get him on the cheap.

2.) 28 Jan 2019 23:05:15
Now we know why psg came in with that low bid, no tapping up on their part or at least will not be any more of it.

3.) 29 Jan 2019 09:39:26
Let's face it he won't be the last to go. The way some of the players are playing this season they want out as well.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 10:45:27
The offer for Gaye is an insult, if they offer 30 million then that sounds about right to me.

5.) 29 Jan 2019 14:31:16
Am I missing something here? Yes he works hard, but can’t pass a ball, has no creativity going forward and can’t shoot for toffee. I would think given his age PSG have got it just about right.

I have had a good couple of hours to process my thoughts on today and I feel sorry for Rafa in some repects, he has had a rough ride from day one but I now believe for Rafa and ourselves it is best he leaves, wish him well and put this chapter behind us. How did our club get into this mess?
Eds, do you think more players will be coming in even if/ when Rafa goes? This squad needs to accept a lot of the blame and we definitely need more reinforcements.

{Ed002's Note - The issue is unrelated to players in or out. It is a bigger issue with the club suffereing interfereance. You don't shoot the major for losing a battle. Benitez is a committed coach and a good coach. The decision to join Everton may be a mistake but he will try.}

1.) 15 Jan 2022 20:39:29
Do you think we will ever get our house in order ed?

{Ed002's Note - One day.}

2.) 15 Jan 2022 20:51:20
Under Moshi? Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

3.) 15 Jan 2022 21:31:59
He has had his day he is a dinosaur his methods do not work anymore. Another board mistake, wasting more money, time and further humiliating our club.

4.) 15 Jan 2022 21:50:37
Reading Ed002's comments, maybe I have been wrong in having a pop at BK and his influence. Or taking Ed's comment into account perhaps
BK's experience and advice is being ignored in favour of this interference. All seems to have gone wrong since Moyes left. But it is the players and coaches that have messed up on the pitch.

5.) 15 Jan 2022 21:01:10
Genuine question Ed but how is interference affecting the team on match day?

Surely Rafa picks the team and gives them instructions on tactics?

Or is the interference having an impact on the match day performance?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is a bigger deal than that.}

6.) 15 Jan 2022 22:35:51
I don’t think we will ever find out ducks tbh but in my opinion everyone needs to have a long hard look in the mirror. Some of the decisions at board level have been disastrous, some of the playing decisions- again disastrous. Fan protests (the Arsenal game) was a joke. Banners against the manager before he had even been appointed classless. We need to hit the reset button top to bottom.

12 Jan 2022 18:14:41
People moaning about El Ghazi probably said the same about Townsend, give the club a break and get behind them.

1.) 12 Jan 2022 18:26:39
Kingpin same question to you as GB. Who would El Ghazi be an upgrade for in his position?

2.) 12 Jan 2022 18:47:08
My son is Villa fan (don't ask) so seen a bit of them over last couple years and on his day is good player. Unfortunately that's 1 in 4 games.

3.) 12 Jan 2022 18:52:16
I would play him regardless of his preferred position instead of Iwobi.

4.) 12 Jan 2022 20:05:41
So like Iwobi Ghazi will be a bench sitter - on loan!

5.) 12 Jan 2022 20:24:25
Why all this negative stuff, let’s at least see what the guy can do, talk about cart before the horse blimey.

6.) 12 Jan 2022 21:08:53
We need to improve the bench too. So if he’s a better option to come on than Iwobi then that’s a good thing.

Remember, we are restricted with FFP. Therefore as the saying goes, “You can only make broth with the bones you have got”.

7.) 12 Jan 2022 23:48:53
Respect your opinion Toffee ace. He was a winger at Villa sitting on the bench, why would he come on loan to sit on the bench here, is my point.

8.) 13 Jan 2022 03:51:05
DCL, Richarlison, Gray, Townsend, Gordon, Rondon, Dobbin, Simms and Iwobi
That’s 9 players although you could argue Iwobi doesn’t count so that’s 8
If we play 4 at the back plus 2 defensive mid fielders there’s 4 places available
If we play 5 at the back plus 2 defensive mid fielders there’s only 3 spots available
If you said DCL is fit and therefore he takes one of the places there’s even more limited spaces available
Why do we need El Ghazzi to further exacerbate the problem? The only ones he might be considered better than is Iwobi or Rondon 1 (although El Ghazzi isn’t a centre forward – mind you neither is Rondon) . Don’t we need strengthening at CB or DM or CF more?

29 Dec 2021 11:19:57
I have heard a bit of negativity about Newcastle requesting our match to be postponed? Why?
People saying they have done it to get injured players back and get new signings in.
That is exactly what we was saying when we was complaining about the Premier league being unfair when they rejected our appeal, of course Newcestle are going to act in their own best interests, they are fighting for their lives.
I am not saying this is everyone's opinion on here and I understand the frustration of another postponement but honestly you can't blame them of the FA, rant over! Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.

1.) 29 Dec 2021 11:56:05
Most teams are fielding academy players to carry on so its as if those said teams are being punished by not being able to play because of the likes of Newcastle. Doesn't wash with me I'm afraid. So them canceling games because they are fighting relagation is ok? Because basically that's what your saying!

2.) 29 Dec 2021 12:00:42
Agree KD, any half decent owner would do exactly the same mate.

3.) 29 Dec 2021 12:13:40
Lancer that is not what I am saying at saying at all.
I am saying you can't blame them for acting in their best interests like we did when we was in the exact same position.
Why wasn't there the same negativity when the Leicester match was called off?
Because Newcastle now have their best two players injured and we fancied our chances more. Plus they have millions waiting for them to spend, yes it is unfortunate for us Newcastle will probably be a lot stronger when we do play them, but that is not their fault.

{Ed025's Note - they are playing the game duaney...just like us..

4.) 29 Dec 2021 12:21:21
And its not the PL fault they have a disconnect with the youth team and the 1st team.

5.) 29 Dec 2021 13:44:28
It depends on how many players Newcastle had available. I don't know so can't comment but unless their situation was the same as ours you can't say they did the same as us. We had 11 available outfield players including 5 under the age of 20. So we would have been left with a subs bench of 2 keepers and a 1 outfield player. Is that how many players Newcastle had available?

If they have enough players to field a 11 and subs bench and bailed because their 2 best players were injured then I'm sorry there's no getting away from it, that's cheating. And it is in no way shape or form what we did.

{Ed002's Note - The guidance is 14 of the named 25 including at least one GK.}

6.) 29 Dec 2021 14:06:24
Presume you think our children should have played against Burnley then Lancer? Or are you suggesting it should be one rule for us and another for other clubs?

7.) 29 Dec 2021 14:31:04
That i can't defend however it was rectified quickly thereafter.

8.) 29 Dec 2021 14:51:46
Its just an opinion guys but just think clubs need to be more transparent when requesting cancellations not just Newcastle i mean all. The FA should also investigate the reasons why and look more closely at registered players that can play.

9.) 29 Dec 2021 15:44:41
The last post I agree with Lancer, it is the lack of transparency that frustrates fans. I think it the premier league and both clubs come out with a joint statement so all fans know everybody is on board with the decision that would make it easier for fans to accept.

{Ed002's Note - Why on earth would the Premier League and clubs do that? The guidance is clear.}

10.) 29 Dec 2021 16:15:37
Ed i agree the guidance is clear but doesn't mean that clubs are following the guidance.

11.) 29 Dec 2021 16:18:58
I know the guidance is their but as we have seen today fans are split whether clubs are playing the system a little bit, not saying my idea was a good one lol. But I think more transparency would stop fans getting suspicious.

12.) 29 Dec 2021 17:59:27
It’s done it’s happened some you will benefit in others you won’t, let’s just get behind the team that eventually does take the field in 2022, all our moaning ain’t going to change anything now.

13.) 29 Dec 2021 22:54:17
Not sure why teams bother with under 23s and under 18 set ups if these players can’t be filling the gaps in squads to allow games to go ahead?

All these postponed games are getting ridiculous now - when are they going to get fitted in?

14.) 30 Dec 2021 09:26:31
Does anyone else find this a little silly?

We were in the same situation a week or two ago… no one complained then - why are people complaining now when the show is on the other foot?

Just very strange in my opinion.

15.) 30 Dec 2021 12:42:30
It worked in our favour when we couldn't field a team without a goalkeeper playing outfield so we just have to bite the bullet when another team get a game cancelled with us.
Newcastle might be missing two of their better players but that's the way it is, the extra time will help us get some 1st team players back from injury too.

16 Dec 2021 09:02:17
Just seen the rumours about the Ukrainian and French full backs, these are the sort of lower risk signings we need, looks like we are using our scouting network for once and not advisors signing over rated players on huge contracts.
Hope these rumours are true.

1.) 16 Dec 2021 10:45:55
Rumoured that earlier this week and got the usual sarky comments from some, good luck mate.

2.) 16 Dec 2021 11:16:49
Agree KPD - we need to move away from the big named players coming to the end of their time in the game looking at one more payday from us.

However until we start signing the likes of the players mentioned it’s only rumours.

Genuinely hope we start to recruit players who want to come to us to improve both us and themselves rather than those just wanting to improve their bank balances!

3.) 16 Dec 2021 11:17:52
Some still don't get it that this is a rumour site :-)

4.) 16 Dec 2021 12:43:33
Lower risk? If the rumours are true it’s a 20mill deal. Also the fact that we have one of the best left backs around already and have been desperate for a new right back makes this even more ridiculous.

If we do sign him then Digne is more than likely being sold in Jan.

5.) 16 Dec 2021 13:45:31
With his age £20m can be an investment, plus transfer fees are not the major issue, it is the wage bill.
Lucas Digne can be great but also he has a calamitous own goal or red card in him and I am pretty sure he will be out of the door if the rumours are to be believed.
And on that note, if any player wants out because he isn't getting pampered and getting all his own way they are welcome to join players like Moise Kean and get out of our club.

6.) 16 Dec 2021 13:52:45
It looks like that's the case anyway, Sir Loin. There seems to be a story in the press every day highlighting the fact that Digne and Rafa have had a falling out. If that is the case, a LB is more of a priority than a RB as we have only Godfrey as backup right now. We can only hope that the club will address the right back situation in the same window.

7.) 16 Dec 2021 13:59:24
The way this clubs being run we will probably loan Digne out to a club playing in the Champions League. Also what message is this sending to Nkounkou? Will we have another young promising left back leave the club.
At the moment we have approximately thirty U23 players in the squad, with another five out on loan. Now as a law of averages you would expect at least two to three players to come through. Yet to date we haven’t seen any, and just sitting on the bench doesn’t really count.
First team squad we have three keepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders and seven forwards.

8.) 16 Dec 2021 16:25:05
Bob, I'm not sure if Nkounkou has any sort of release clause in his loan contract so I'm guessing he is with Standard until the summer. If Digne has kicked his last ball for us then we need a replacement in the next window. We can't afford to go into the new year without full back cover on either side. Whichever way you look at it, Nkounkou will be cover next season, to start with, for whoever is in the LB position.

12 Sep 2021 12:36:37
Just wondering if the Eds know how Everton are planning on using Ellis Simms this season.
I come across a lot of Blackpool fans at work and they raved about him last season, asking if he would go back on loan this season. Obviously I am not in the know??. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

{Ed025's Note - with the recruitment of rondon im not sure he will get much of a shot just yet duaney, maybe a spot on the bench here and there or in the league cup but he is one for the future mate..

1.) 13 Sep 2021 00:47:21
Yes, but only if he has signed a contract extension, as I understand it, he is in the final year of his present deal.

This is the sort of player we need, young, hungry already his club's captain. Lead them to the most clean sheets.
We keep screaming out to make signings like this then moan when we do.

My word! Let's write off a young left back who will reduce the average age of the squad and save us a lot on wages, helping ffp before he has kicked a ball.
Let's ask Liverpool for James Milner, give him a huge fat last pay day and have that will solve all our problems.

{Ed0666's Note - Like Millie would play for Everton ?

If he can't do it in the French league, playing for a team head and shoulders above the rest we may be stuck with him till his contract runs down.

Ed I know you said unlikely but if a new striker came in, do you think. it would most likely be Milik? Or is that just paper talk?

{Ed002's Note - Milik would be an option but there are talks going on about him with Fiorentina. Space and money could be an issue.}

We sold Pienaar for £2m before we lost him for nothing. Then we signed him for £3m after a successful loan spell when he had a couple of years left on his Spurs' contract.
