Alrite ed 002 hope you're well mate just wondering what you're foughts on sekou koita from rb salzburg and also is there any truth in everton looking at him on a free transfer any feedback i would be grateful as i havnt heard of him before thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Sekou Koita S/AM) Free Agent who CSKA, Lens and Everton have a declared interest in but Everton will need to check if a Work Permit will be available as it could be difficult to get a Work Permit for the PL. Sunderland remain keen to take him to the Championship. Goal scoring record in Austria has veen very good although that has not been reflected at International level. An unconvincing Beto replacement perhaps.}

Hi Ed,

So he hasn't already signed for Leeds? Just when Google his name Wikipedia has him playing for Leeds United and Mali. šŸ¤·.

No worries ed 002 thank you for feedback me personally if we can ship out maupay keane holgate with there wages and also gomes an alli are gone then i would take him on free transfer if his wage demands are not high as we need to try avoid getting players on high wages in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - If Everton push ahead and sign Sekou Koita he will have the opportunity to replicate his form in Austria, it will be a good thing.}

His record to get on the pitch seems as bad as DCLā€™s, so it must be his replacement. Like for like indeed.

04 Jul 2024 13:16:01
His goals to game ratio for Salzburg is far better than Domā€™s. Look to have different skill sets also.

Agree0 0Disagree

04 Jul 2024 15:51:03
He is playing in Austria so I donā€™t think itā€™s worth comparing the two in terms of goals scored.

Their record of actually making it onto the pitch is worth comparing though and it seems questionable to say the least.

Would much rather us get Che Adams on a free, now that his deal with Wolves looks to have fell through.

41 goals in 164 games for some very poor Southampton teams. Knows the league. Works hard for the shirt. Robust and can play as a target man or up top in a 2.

Not a fantastic player by any means but makes perfect sense to me for what we need and where we are at.

Agree0 0Disagree

04 Jul 2024 17:00:16
Oh good god no way should we be getting Che Adams - heā€™s terrible!

Would rather stick with Beto and chermiti than signing Adams.

Where we are at is building for the future and recruiting young players who we can develop and sell on for a profit - Che Adams in my opinion does not fit in to where we are currently at.

I agree watching Scotland was enough to show how nad he is, he isn't a prem player he is just about championship, we sold a player that was deemed not good enough to Coventry and he scored more goals, enough said.

04 Jul 2024 20:57:38
Strange comments indeed, especially when you consider he has a better goal scoring record than DCL in an arguably much worse team, yet people go on about how we need to keep DCL at all costs.

DCL is probably be off. Despite recent signings, we are still not flush with cash. He is free and would make sense. Signing him doesn't mean getting rid of Beto or Chermiti. He just provides another option and more of a like for like for DCL.

Playing for Scotland against Germany, Hungary and Switzerland is like us playing against City, Villa and Spurs. The team is limited to say the least. He also outscored Simms so not quite sure where you are going with that.

05 Jul 2024 02:48:08
DCL has been average at best since joining club in 2016 for Ā£1.5m ( and you can tell ) . I would happily sell him this summer if can get a fee around the Ā£20m + thatā€™s a great bit of business. As his overall record is poor IMO and lately his injury record is just as bad. I would be in two minds over signing Broja for the quoted fee as he is still recovering from ACL injury and if we end up signing him I will give 100% support hopefully he can rediscover his form from loan spell with Southampton. I would think thelwell would try to negotiate a deal which suits us ( with various add ons rising with set targets/ conditions ) incase he ends up being a nightmare deal. Hopefully Everton will start to more efficient in transfer market as Thelwell seems to work market well and he and Freikland group could be a good partnership in the long term future.

Beto deserves a least another season as he moved to a more competitive league. Also club wasnā€™t in best shape seemed to have steadily improved. He may just need a long run in side. By the looks DCL looks like he is going Beto wonā€™t have that pressure on him being compared and scrutinising reports from media. The potential new attacking additions could bring best out of Beto. Thoughts on Daniel Jebbison rumours as a free agent his salary was rumoured to be approx Ā£4k a week. This could be another potential move with 100% profit if the deal doesnā€™t work out in PL.

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Jul 2024 04:51:01
Jebbison cheap free and injury prone aswell isn't hešŸ¤” still only young though so might be worth a punt if he was to pass a proper medical.

Itā€™s all over the web now, some suggesting itā€™s a done deal on a free transfer. Only 24, scores 36 in 76 for Salzburg. Hampered by injury recently. Interesting one, very unlike us to scout someone less obvious and seems fairly low risk.

I keep changing my mind about what's best to do regarding selling players etc but I think if we are going to sell then we should hit the reset button fully and sell Onana DCL Branthwaite. Make some shrewd signings no idea who and then start a proper rebuild where we can slowly improve each year. I think Dyche is the best chance we have of being able to do that and he woukd be in it for the long haul like moyes was.

03 Jul 2024 19:50:05
Quite simple for me monkeynuts, if they want out and can't commit to us then get the best price possible and let them go!

Ideally like DCL and Jarrod to stay and be bedrocks of the club moving forward, don't realise how lucky they are, we could be at the start of a positive era in the club topped off by a world class stadium in just over a year.

03 Jul 2024 21:04:52
Team needs a strong spine. We have Pickford, Branthwaite and DCL as that spine. Need to do all we can to tie them down, and then build a team around them.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 21:43:14
Completely agree Brassington. Losing just one of these would have a negative affect on the squad. All three will send us down for sure. Branthwaite is not a conversation as heā€™s got about 3 or 4 years left on his contract so if we donā€™t need the money then unplug the phone and take the paper out of the fax machine. DCL needs London fashion week off and heā€™ll be happy to sign and tell Pickford that only Newcastle have shown interest. All three then stay and we win the league.

Feels mad to have 3 players in when deadline day is nowhere near in sight. Don't know how much we have to spend but we could be about to miss a trick on the two lads from Hull. Ipswich are in talks to sign them both according to ssn.
We have been linked with them for a while and, although I haven't got a clue how good they are, they both play in positions that we could do with strengthening. Any of the eds know if we have any concrete interest in Greaves and Philogene? Or have Ipswich now become favourites to sign them? Cheers in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Everton have to be very careful about their spending and will need to sell to raise funds.}

03 Jul 2024 15:17:22
This is the worry. Hope we don't miss out.

Sell Onana, get these 2 in, another loan in and be quite happy.

Are we talking 1 big sell Ed IE Onana Ā£40-50million, Calvert Lewin Ā£25million + to address issue or more work required?

{Ed002's Note - Everton have huge financial issues still, so they need to be careful in the marketplace.}

03 Jul 2024 17:27:08
I imagine we need to do more than sell Onana if we wish to buy players.

Lille have a considerable sell-on clause. I think it may be as high as 30%. I think we bought him for Ā£33 million, so if we were to sell him for around Ā£50 million then it would represent little to no profit.

Dobbin and Tim cancel each other out.

Godfrey fetched us around Ā£10m.

Ndayie cost around Ā£17m.

Seems there is work to do.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 17:33:25
Cheers Ed002. I should have said I'm expecting Onana to go very soon, hopefully it won't mean we have to sell him an JB this window as well, to free up some funds. Haven't a clue if only selling one of them will help in all honesty.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 20:50:25
Blue nose I may be wrong but I'm sure that the sell on would only be on the profit if as u say we paid 33m and get 50 mil that would be 17 mil profit 30% to lille would be 5.4m so leave us approx 11.6m obviously minus other costs so a little profit hopefully.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 21:09:05
Surly after paying the 5.4m that would leave us with 44.6m?

Agree1 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 21:57:07
You could be right there James mate. Let us hope that is the case anyway. I guess 30% is a bit steep as a sell-on fee alone.

Always said GB Sean deserves a fair go at this, I believe he is a very good manager and needs give him some backing and time to try turn us around, he is doing this and next season I'd hope he finds a style that attracts us fans and beds in some youth, mid table finish, no doom and gloom then get in the new stadium, maybe attract some decent next level players and go from there. Slow process but realistic aim.

To be honest it wouldnā€™t surprise me if the manager is changed when the new owners get a chance. SD is the right manager to keep us up but thereā€™ll be question marks on whether heā€™s the one to take us forward.

I suppose we will get an indication soon if we find out that theyā€™re looking to renew his current contract. Iā€™ve not heard or read anything about that which I would expect to have by now.

Personally I would describe his tactics as survival based and pragmatic. It must be said that he has done a fantastic job at this given the circumstances but the actual football is very underwhelming. Problem is I donā€™t see SD changing this and think the new owners will want to see more.

{Ed002's Note - The potential new owner has been taking advice on the matter.}

Expect SD to be given a chance. If things are not going well by Christmas and the takeover is complete, also expect a change.
Whatever we think as fans, SD is not a worldwide 'name' in football and does not attract the attention that a billionaire owner will seek for his new investment. He hired Mourinho at Roma, that should tell us something about the type of profile he'd seek long term.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 18:27:44
Tuchel is overrated for me and very arrogant with it. fairshout he won the French league with PSG which i could do. he did nothing at Chelsea and came 3rd with bayern. would cost a fortune when we came to sack him. give SD a chance for now COYB šŸ‘.

Ive been critical of Dacha a lot at times last season, as I think we all have, and I even wanted him gone at one point, but in retrospect - he has done a decent job and i'd like to see him stay for another season. I think he brings much needed stability and has steadied a very very listless ship as well as bringing very calm leadership during a very turbulent season. Hopefully things will start to settle down now and the new owners will put us on a firmer financial footing.

Agree1 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 21:34:46
Seriously, and I have no problem with SD, but there is no way on earth that the new owners will be happy with the brand of football that has been used past 18 months going into the 25/ 26 season in BMD. They will want a show that befits the new stadium and will be planning in advance to provide that.

From Goodison to BMD is a huge keep of elevation. The Manager needs to elevate his style of football or be left behind.

{Ed025's Note - my take is that SD will be given the new talent and given until christmas to see how things go, if things improve results wise and entertainment wise then he may well be kept on, if not i fear he will be gone, its a tough call for the new owners and as grateful as we all are to Sean for keeping us up i think we all agree that the standard of football was really poor, new and better players may change that of course and thats why i think he may be given a shot, but the new owners have an investment to protect and getting to BMD unscathed will be a massive part of that with all the lucrative things that brings...its a massive call..

03 Jul 2024 12:06:35
Of course the rumours say he wants to leave, why would anyone want to stay at lil ol' Everton when the giant that is Manchester United wants you? Being open to a move is very different from actively pushing for it. If he stays I don't think we'll have any issues with his professionalism.

Agree1 0Disagree

03 Jul 2024 13:48:58
The lad can have his pick of clubs so why would he want to go to Utd when there will be better options for him? There will be plenty of upheaval at Utd during the coming season, their manager will be gone as soon as results don't go their way, he was lucky nobody wanted his job this summer or he'd be looking for a new one right now. Their derisory offer suggests they haven't got the cash to spend on him, they tried to get him on the cheap with a take it or leave it offer. Hopefully we leave it and see who else is serious about buying him. If no good offers come in then we get to keep him for another season so we win either way.
Reports of him wanting out may or may not be true. Regardless, he has struck me as nothing but professional so I don't expect JB to down tools just to get a move. Time will tell I suppose.
