Brilliant post that ed 001 me personally as a blue nose he is up there in my view as one of the best players I have seen in Premier League history his goal stats are frightening 192 Premier League goals in 324 appearances could be wrong with that stat so can only apologise but great player and going to be certainly not only a miss but a hard person to replace at Liverpool am just hoping he's forgot his shooting boots this Sunday but hate derby's and tough to call but I reckon be an entertaining match so hope you have a good 1 mate

{Ed001's Note - thank you andy, I hope you enjoy the game but not too much! I will badly miss Salah, very hard to replace a player with that much quality.}

18 Apr 2026 07:49:52
Oh, for a Salah in our team, excellent top class player.

18 Apr 2026 09:48:58
We have McNeil GB.

18 Apr 2026 13:39:08
I know Ron. ?

17 Apr 2026 15:17:56
Full Squad for Sunday's game except Jack, Alcaraz back as well. I can see us winning this COYB.

The more posts I read the more clues I read to believe this is now a grumpy old man's support group.
Are the any contributors under say 40 years old out there, I pick 40 as my lad is 42 and the signs are there already.

Or lady contributors of any age just to see if we're a fair representation of our fans. Could we do a poll Ed 33 just for a laugh I'll let you pick the categories but as a suggestion G.O.M, Ladies, under 40.

{Ed033's Note - Posters can pick voting options for the poll if they want.

I think, in the few seasons before this latest one, we were entitled to be grumpy, Big C. We were so down and almost out. I don't believe it was the norm. Now, however, we are a lot of happy bunnies, mate. ????

17 Apr 2026 00:31:40
Tickled me this, Big. Great post, mate.

17 Apr 2026 00:58:27
I was young when I joined this forum, Big C. Years of neglect and relegation battles have worn me down, and all of a sudden I am a grumpy old man. At Wembley in 1995 I was the age my son is now, and the expectation was great.

Don't blame us, grumpy old men, it's not our fault. It is actually unbelievable that we have managed to live so long, given the tremendous disappointments that we have had to endure.

17 Apr 2026 10:26:42
Stop moaning Big C. ???

17 Apr 2026 10:30:20
I certainly meet the criteria for being grumpy, Big C, but at 39 I hope I'm not considered to fall into the old man category!

17 Apr 2026 10:31:41
Lived this long despite far greater pressure/dangers than supporting Everton boys and girls, fact is Everton over the years has been a joy.

17 Apr 2026 10:38:02
It doesn't matter Ed 33 it was only for a laugh, of course I have no idea how hard it is to make a poll so I appreciate all your hard work for the editing and polls that mean something

Privileged enough to live through the glory years of the 80s makes me well over 40, sadly, but a grumpy old Blue? Never!

{Ed025's Note - that still reminds me of when Grumpy Toffee was still with us Ace. I still think of him at times mate..

17 Apr 2026 20:08:54
He's certainly missed Ed. I often catch myself thinking, I wonder what Grumpy would have thought of this or that

I'm definitely in the grumpy group. Too many years of disappointment and daft decisions from the club. The best spell we've had in the last 30 years corresponded with when I left the city for university and work so the 12 seasons I had a season ticket was mostly relegation battle after relegations battle. I missed the FA cup final as I was on a school trip away.

{Ed025's Note - tough break that BR, hopefully we will see the good times return now mate because i believe we are going places now..

18 Apr 2026 07:51:55
Now you are talking Ed mate Grumpy Toffee is a legend and miss like hell mate

{Ed025's Note - yeah he was good man GB..

18 Apr 2026 08:51:25
It does me too Ed. Very sad when his son posted to inform us all of his passing. That day I changed my Profile from a blue ace of spades to a black one. Not changed it back and have no intention of either. Great poster never forgotten ??

{Ed025's Note - absolutely Ace..

Liverpool’s Recruitment Myths Under the Microscope

I know getting into the top six is pressure, but it's a much better pressure than trying to stay out of the bottom three. ?

Back to consistent top 8 Moyes.

16 Apr 2026 12:03:33
Just hope we can achieve something under Moyes dms.

It's ridiculous to have 'pressure' to break into the breakaway 6 these days. The fact some teams can spend and spend without fear of being penalised (be it due their income is much higher than others because of fanbase, marketing, historic success or infrastructure, or the League's bias to not offer equal punishments to them) is wrong.

Read today that Liverpool are after Ndiaye and Gordon which would cost well over £100m for both. If it was to happen, that would be another huge summer after £450m last summer. Chelsea, Utd and City can all seem to spend whatever they like and others like Newcastle or ourselves are limited by the 'rules'. It's crazy.

Still prefer it to relegation scrap though.

16 Apr 2026 12:37:54
And then reading Liverpool have to sell before they buy.

16 Apr 2026 15:36:37
Chelsea are the major culprits in this scandal, over a billion spent in the last couple of seasons.

17 Apr 2026 00:34:51
Thankfully Ndiaye seems a lad that is guided by principles and morals. Not a chance he does us dirty like Barmby.

15 Apr 2026 13:45:34
Remember going to the Spurs night game in 85, I was living and working in London at the time and took my then girlfriend to the game (she supported the Hammers). Got the train to Seven Sisters and walked to the ground with the Spurs fans keeping pretty quiet.

Crammed in a corner of the ground with the rest of the blues fans, Andy Gray scored we all went mad and she fainted. It was pretty crammed in there, no seats back then. Anyway picked her up and she was passed overhead by all the lads (some enjoying it a little too much) to the front where they opened the gate (we were caged in back then), I followed her and they took us around the ground to the first aid room which was on the side of the ground full of Spurs fans.

She went into the first aid room and I was told to wait outside. Half time came and I was surrounded by very angry Spurs fans. I learned that night I could do a passable feckin s*** in a cockney accent, and that they really didn't like scousers.

So with my scarf tied around my waist I managed to survive half time. As the second half starts she is allowed out so I started to go back into the ground. I was stopped by a copper who asked where I was going and as soon as he heard my accent said no chance, and we got thrown out the ground.
Missed the rest of the game and the win. Never took her to another game after that. And that is why I hope they get relegated ?.

15 Apr 2026 15:33:54
Would be nice to see us do it on our last game, mate.

16 Apr 2026 12:23:57
Nice story BMD. I went to Salford Tech. and on 3rd February 1960 going to get the bus I met up with a college mate who was from Crewe. He said that Crewe were playing Spurs that evening at White Hall Lane in a cup replay and would I like to join him going to the game. So with only the small amount of money we had in our pockets, we hitch-hiked down to London, watched Spurs win 13-2, and hitch-hiked home. Must have been totally mad in those days.

I kept my mouth shut, since we were probably the only Crewe supporters in the ground, and let my friend do the talking. Even though they were winning so heavily they were a nasty bunch, taking every opportunity to ridicule little Crewe who had held them to a draw the previous week. Only consolation for me was the Llewellyn, who used to play for Everton, scored for Crewe.
If they had known that I was a scouser then God knows what treatment I would have got.

15 Apr 2026 13:50:51
This weekend seems a very good time to be playing Liverpool, with them now dumped out of the Champions League this week and also several first Team players out, we have a full Team bar Jack and playing well, so come on you Blues. It has to be a 2-0 for us.

{Ed025's Note - both teams will be up for this one GB, i expect a really feisty affair mate but im hoping for win and a good performance of course..

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Apr 2026 15:13:01
Hope it will be feisty, mate, and a real Derby, they are in a bad place at the moment, hope we batter them.

{Ed025's Note - so do i mate but i dont want to put the mockers on us.. :)

15 Apr 2026 16:12:20
What I meant to do yesterday was put an impassioned plea out to all my fellow contributors to please not make any predictions on either the score or the result in fear of jinxing everything. You write them off at your peril; they’ll be hurting and there’s no better way to get their own fans behind them than to go all out against us. So, with that said, I’m too late.

I love your positivity, GB, but there are times when you just need to cross everything, peep through your fingers and pray for a clean sheet and anything else is a bonus. I feel sick already. I envisage my high heart rate warning go off regularly throughout the game. I’d like to take comfort in one of those blue doughnuts, but the sugar high would tip me over the edge.
COYB UTFT.

{Ed025's Note - well im making no predictions Big C..

15 Apr 2026 16:21:24
Those times are behind, Big C. We are the in-form team, mate. They will not be relishing playing us one bit. A win for us, it has to be.

15 Apr 2026 20:56:44
I reckon they may have got a reaction from their players, so it will be a tough game. No predictions here - just hoping for a win.

15 Apr 2026 22:57:30
I remember when we were the in-form team and above them under Moyes previously. I think we were unbeaten in 8 with 5 wins and they had only won 2.

They spanked us 3-0 and Gerrard got all 3 hahah.

16 Apr 2026 18:38:45
Think this could be a dangerous time to play them. I'll be in a pub watching and probably the only Toffee ha ha. I'd take a win of any kind.

{Ed025's Note - i will take anything bar a loss BB..

16 Apr 2026 20:03:28
Form goes out the window regarding the Merseyside Derby. We have enough to cause them problems. Tight game. Hoping to scrape to victory by 1 goal.

{Ed025's Note - that works for me Dentie..

Exactly TA, and that's all we ask for consistency.
