I've given it a few hours to avoid a knee jerk reaction and I still can't ever remember being as embarrassed about my club. The manager constantly shaking his head as though none of it is his fault. Another bland, uncreative performance littered with schoolboy errors. William's stupid, (& dangerous) , push on their keeper, the brawl and particularly the reaction of some of the fans, (what a wonderful advert for our club is that moron trying to punch their players whilst holding his kid!? ) , and the shot of Holgate after the final whistle walking round the pitch laughing! It's like our club has been infected with a virus. Sad, sad days at Everton!

1.) 20 Oct 2017 15:26:02
The coward using a kid as a human shield. Dirt bag.

2.) 20 Oct 2017 15:48:02
The coward with the kid has been banned from the club, but what about Williams? nothing?

3.) 20 Oct 2017 22:31:36
Williams was supposed to be captain and lead by example, yet what he done to incite the trouble was embarrassing and ridiculous and he should get a lifetime ban too, that would do us a massive favour.
The attention we are getting from media etc now is not what the PR people would have expected and from the manager and his tactics to the players and piss poor performances right across to the Dad of the Year in the crowd, it is embarrassing to be an Evertonian ATM.
Changes need to be made from boardroom to pitch ASAP.

4.) 22 Oct 2017 10:37:30
Toffee the bloke with the child way out of order and as you say cowardice. On Williams, look at it again, the Goalkeeper quite plainly jumps into him, that's why Williams gave him a shove.

Ed025, I know it's not the most reliable source, but, if the reports in the Mail are true about the way Ossie and Hibbo have been treated by the club, I'm both surprised and angry. These lads have been 2 of our most loyal servants over the years &. whilst I agree that we can't give every former player a backroom job, a bit of decency about informing them and at least giving them a chance to say goodbye to the fans is the very least we could do for 2 of our own. I really hope that someone will come on here and reveal that this was just crappy journalism and that we have actually done things the "Everton way".

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - i would hope so too tezza..

1.) 11 Jun 2016 17:23:41
Their contracts were coming to an end on 30th June, so - especially given their age, their injury record over the past couple of years, and their resulting lack of availability and appearances - it can hardly have been a surprise that they weren't giiven renewed contracts. However, they should, iin all decency, have been informed personally by the club before the retained/ released lists were published. As it stands, the report in the press is just gossip.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 19:35:08
Who says they weren't personally told? I am sure there would've been conversations before now by the various players agents.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 23:06:06
Paper rubbish. Of course there would have been a conversation.

4.) 12 Jun 2016 07:25:57
It's this constant reporting of our club always in the negative that gets my back up.
Both players and agents knew their time at Everton was up, Osman is known to be keen on the media and hibbo has his fish.

5.) 12 Jun 2016 11:02:28
Its absolute rubbish,
was talking to one of the head stewards yesterday and all off the players had a goodbye meal and all 3 of them said goodbye to the staff at finch. they knew months ago. typical national press!

{Ed025's Note - they never let the truth get in the way of a good story ali..

6.) 12 Jun 2016 15:24:14
They should of given the fans a chance to give a goodbye to them then, all three of them great servants to the club.

Well, it looks as though we are safe now & we can all relax a bit! However, that does not disguise the fact that, (a few of the Euro games aside), this has been a really disappointing season. Like many others I've gone from loving RM to hoping we can have somebody else in charge very soon.
This train of thought led me back to the Samuel Eto'o situation. At the time I was really angry & disappointed with the player for the apparent disruption he was causing. On reflection though, I've started to wonder if he could see the problems RM's management was causing. I mean, the guy has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, in the most prestigious tournaments & under the best managers, you cannot deny his pedigree. If, as some people suggest, RM stubbornly refuses to change his tactics this could have led to the big fallout.
More worryingly, how is this going to impact our ability to sign any big name players if the word has got out that RM is a fraud?

I think the same explaination applies to Distan, yes think we all know he has lost 1/2 a yard, but, he is a top pro, first in, last out at training, and I would still take him above alcazas, any day. He too has, to the best of my understanding, been frozen out for expressing his views about Martiez tactical approch. He is a very "little" man, vindictive and arogent, he takes constructive critisiem as a personal attack, and it's time for him to GO.

03 Feb 2015 12:21:49
Now the dust has settled, can somebody explain to me how, (& why), the manic hysteria of "transfer deadline day" came about. I have my suspicions that it is something orchestrated by Sky to boost viewing figures.
Looking at things logically, if you were looking to buy, say, a car, would you wait till the last hour or so before the garage closed for Christmas to go in, test drive & try to organise paperwork & delivery? Of course you wouldn't! You'd do it a week or so beforehand. So why do so many supposedly well run clubs partake in this feeding frenzy?! It's crazy!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - they reckon its the domino effect tezza, waiting for one to go out before one comes in mate..

1.) 03 Feb 2015 13:54:47
Didn't think that today's players ate that much pizza! ;)

{Ed025's Note - love it tezza..

2.) 04 Feb 2015 14:14:48
swan is a liverpool supporter, he hasn't a clue about us blues

{Ed025's Note - i dont think your right beano...he is a moaner..but a blue as well..

3.) 04 Feb 2015 22:03:53
another event created by SS should encourage increased viewing figures truth is FA happens they really is club changing now just moving around players that are on the verge or lacking game time!

4.) 05 Feb 2015 22:25:02
i think its more to do with if a club are looking to off load a player, but no one wants to pay the asking price, waiting till the last min and offering reduced price will gain you the player cheaper, jan sales an all that, last min bargains.

18 Aug 2013 14:31:29
There seems to be a very eerie, "calm before the storm" silence around the transfer market at the moment. However, with Moyes stating Utd are after 2 or 3 players & Wenger being practically forced to buy by the Gooners, I expect there to be a transfer explosion soon.
Whilst I would like to hold on to all our players, (especially Bainsey), I can see Felli leaving us soon. Hopefully BK will play hard ball with any bidders & either a) get top dollar, (£25m?) or a top player swap, (I'd still like to see Rooney back, but I'm ready for all those "not going to happen-get over it" posts).
Interesting times ahead, I think.

Toffee Tezza

1.) I'd like to see Rooney back myself, although I don't see it happening at the moment. But the point to all of this swap talk is if Felli does go then we need a like for like replacement, that is not Rooney so it would be a pointless exercise unless we have serious cash left to go out and raid the market.

2.) If one club bids for felli, we need a second one to push up the price. Manchester United v arsenal I would think

3.) 1. rooney won't be coming ££££££ says it all
2. 23m was his buyout, other clubs obviously don't think fellis is worth that so they won't be paying 25m

Hope it's ok to just check that Ed025 is ok? Not seen anything from him for ages. Missing his humour on the pages!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - hi Tezza. I’m fine mate. Had a lot of issues with gaining access to the site mate and I got frustrated with the club and all the nastiness if I’m honest so I took some time out. But I’m back now mate and looking forward to the new season ahead. Cheers mate..

1.) 22 Jun 2022 21:10:00
Good to hear Ed mate.

thanks GB..

2.) 22 Jun 2022 21:18:50
Good to see you back ed025
Bring on the new season top 4 her we come ?.

{Ed025's Note - that may be stretching it a bit callum but im hoping for a lot better ride than last season mate, cheers..

3.) 22 Jun 2022 21:50:27
Ed 025 good to have you back what's you're thoughts on the rumours that a US consortium are interested in buying everton and if it is true would they look about getting there own manager or keeping frank me personally i think franks done a decent job with the squad that's been available to him my opinion like thanks for reply.

{Ed025's Note - hi Andy. This takeover bid seems to be gaining momentum mate. I don’t think it’s set in stone yet but it is a possibility. If they do take over then I imagine franks job will be under threat. History tells us that new owners have a penchant to bring in their own men but if the consortium is led by kenyon then him and frank will know each other well from his time at Chelsea. But whether that’s a good or a bad thing I don’t really know..

4.) 22 Jun 2022 23:03:58
The other Eds change the locks on you again ‘eh Ed25?

I’m not sure the ride will be much different to last year Ed but if Frank can keep the team spirit we showed at the end of last season then we might edge some of those games we narrowly lost or drew. That would hopefully put us mid table and away from relegation.

{Ed025's Note - that’s what I’m hoping for BR. But we do need some more new faces mate and ones who are grafters with at least a modicum of skill. We are a bit short on that front imo..

5.) 22 Jun 2022 23:06:59
Keep the faith Ed025, always good to have an Evertonian Ed. around, things will get better, it may take some time but we will rise again.

{Ed025's Note - I have just turned 64 Mike and need to see improvement as a matter of urgency mate..?

6.) 23 Jun 2022 14:16:32
Glad to see you back, mate. I'm mid 60's as well so let's hope Frank gets a move on! There's too many things buiding up that I'm wondering if I'll ever see or do again. (behave! ) and us lifting a trophy is on that list!

29 Nov 2020 11:20:41
Hi Ed025,
I've not posted in a while but I'm getting a bit concerned about the fans who seem to be already turning on Carlo! Ok, things are a bit rocky but it's very early days yet. To use an analogy for someone our age, Ed, in my opinion, it's like having pulled Julia Roberts, then thinking of binning her 'cos you think you're in with a chance with Margot Robbie! Dream on!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - i know what you mean tezza but to be fair carlo has made some strange tactical and selection choices, we dont know what goes on behind the scenes and in training of course but some of his decisions are at the least baffling, the omission of gordon, plying iwobi at fullback, sigurdsson captaining the side and a lot of square pegs in round holes, dont get me wrong im delighted that carlo is at our club and his pulling power for us getting class players to sign is brilliant, it has been suggested that he is passing the baton to his son davide and that he is taking more of a back seat role and there is certainly some evidence of that, carlo and dunc are very subdued on the touchline and davide seems to be the vocal one, but how true that is only time will tell mate, after our great start it does seem to be the case that the wheels are coming off a bit and i can see why some of the faithful are concerned, but lets hope with the january window on the horizon that we can strengthen and move forward..

1.) 29 Nov 2020 12:56:42
Fingers crossed! (We should be good at optimism, it's all that's kept us going many a time! )

{Ed025's Note - hasn,t it just mate..

2.) 29 Nov 2020 13:57:48
A bit rocky? We look clueless. Can anyone explain to me why you would think playing a winger at left back would work? It was clear to see after the first ten minutes that we were losing the midfield. But nothing changed why? Lose the midfield and you lose the match.
Sent Gibson to Reading for experience, and all he's done is sit on the subs bench why? It's things like this that are annoying the fans, and history is just that history. Carlo needs to show us he still has it in him, if not move on.

3.) 29 Nov 2020 14:37:26
Ed, Davide is 30 never kicked a ball in anger only knows footy in 'theory' I know a 'shelf stacker' that ticks the same boxes mate, that is apart from one, his dads an ex docker and just sits and swears at the telly these days. 🤣.

{Ed025's Note - mourinho never kicked a ball either 247, and as far as the swearing goes i feel im a match for anyone when we are playing mate.. :)

4.) 29 Nov 2020 14:54:52
In that case Ed, in a swearing first team eleven I reckon I would be club skipper mate 😛.

{Ed025's Note - life president for me 247.. :)

5.) 29 Nov 2020 15:19:23
Lol 😀.

6.) 29 Nov 2020 16:42:29
Think everyone needs to take a step back and relax a bit, yes recent results haven’t been great, we don’t have enough strength in depth to handle any major injuries and it’s shown, by the way people are going on you’d have thought we were in a relegation battle. The fact is Carlo still has a lot of old Silva signings hanging about that aren’t good enough and the team really isn’t truly his own yet. The signings he’s brought in have largely been positive and what he’s got out of DCL so far has been nothing short of inspired. Still think we’re lucky to have him and anyone who thinks different needs to give their head a wobble, we’re in 6th place, better than where I’d expect us to be, our strong start has clearly given our fans a false sense of our current level. I trust we will still come good under Carlo.

7.) 29 Nov 2020 17:31:19
Gibbo, it’s the team selections and shape that is winding everyone up mate. Now as far as I understand it is the manager that decides all that. Yes we’re six, but let’s see where we are end of December. The last six games have been awful, players don’t look fit, don’t look interested. All that is down to the manager. Simple really.

8.) 29 Nov 2020 18:54:48
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head Woburn.

The majority of players don’t look interested and not fit either.

Only Allan seemed to be busting a gut on the weekend the rest didn’t seem that bothered.

It’s this apathy that worries me more than anything else - was hoping Carlo would get this sorted but it seems to be coming back in at the club

There’s clearly something not right when players don’t look interested or that they can't put a shift in for 90+ minutes - however this isn’t new we’ve seen it for years - would love to know the root cause - sort that and should improve.

9.) 29 Nov 2020 19:11:45
Ever the optimist Woburn. Yes it is the manager but when half your best players are either injured, suspended or on their backside from flying halfway across the world to play a few internationals with no adequate replacements. what do you expect. Unfortunately we only have the balance when every. and I mean every player is available. He needs more time to address the strength in depth issue which is why I’m happy to give him more time and relax about it all a little.

10.) 29 Nov 2020 19:20:51
I agree wit you Ed 25.

11.) 30 Nov 2020 00:32:53
Gibbo stop exaggerating half our best players out? One or two, just like every other club.
We have good young players, and he won’t play them why? We’ve seen a few of them already, and they have performed well.
We don’t even have midweek games to worry about so why do we always look tired?

12.) 30 Nov 2020 01:11:17
Gibbo - if we are going to have to wait for when every and you mean when every player is available for the team to have balance then we will be waiting for ever. No team ever has everyone available - that ;s why they have squads. Yes, the attraction of CA, will get us better players every close season and the squad will strengthen due to him but he needs to develop the players he has, especially the youngsters like he did with DCL
I think we lost it in the team and the subs we named. Lossl, Mina, Delph, Sigardson, Gomez, Bernard and Tosun
Bit irrelevant but why wasn't Olsen named over Lossl
We then start with 2 totally untried wing backs in Iwobi and Davies. The experiment failed and we didn't have the replacements in the subs to change it. Delph isn't a wing back and no-one on the right. Dacoure wasn't the answer, Godfrey either
3 centre backs in the team plus Mina as a sub. Kenny would have given us better flexibility. Why wasn't Nkounku named in the team and move Iwobi over to the left where he had had one of his better games the week before?
Why name both Gomez and Siggy as subs. They are both lacking pace at the moment and don't play well in the same team. Replacing one of them with Gordon (what has he done wrong? ) would have given us more options
Bernard and Tosun haven't done much this season - Gordon and/ or Simms surely deserve a try out
As I said earlier this week the youngsters are being ignored and I don't know why.

13.) 30 Nov 2020 13:24:25
👏👏👏 well said bw.

05 Oct 2019 18:17:10
Hi Ed025. Not posted for ages but here's my take on things as an Evertonian for over 50 years.
I am so underwhelmed with Silva it's frightening. IMO, he is the most charisma free manager we've had since Mike Walker, (I thought Koeman was bad but. jeez! )
I honestly don't know who we could attract now. I'd never have believed I would say this but Rafa would be a massive step up! Wouldn't mind either Dyche or Howe either.
I was so disappointed when Moyes left in the manner he did I could never have seen me minding if he came back. But now I think back to his tenure and the players we had. I know how good the current squad is on paper, but I cannot see players that epitomised the true Everton spirit like Moye's sides did!
Who have we got now that pulled on the shirt with the pride of the likes of Cahill, Osman, Howard, Pienaar, Hibbert, Baines, (know he's still here! ) , Campbell etc.
I am so ashamed to say I've got to the stage of hardly being upset when we lose!
That is NOT me! This is NOT the Everton I know and love!
Something has to change. & very much sooner rather than later!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - nice to hear from you tezza, i really dont know where we go from here mate and there are so many questions to be answered, do we give silva more time or do we pull the plug now?, is it the manager or is it the players?, if he does go who do we get to replace him?, im so disillusioned that at times i just cant be arsed with this rabble...and that lot across the park winning every game does,nt help..

1.) 05 Oct 2019 18:54:35
There are quality players at the Club. In everything the buck stops at the top. Out of every Manager we have had, what the heck does this one bring, please tell me, what is on his CV. Many of us on these forums are KOS's but with experience. Would Silva even get through the sift stage in any normal employment scenario. It is incredibly frustrating.

2.) 05 Oct 2019 19:03:47
It’s true Tezza, for the first time in over 50 years I just can’t be bothered one way or another.
I have no emotion left, it’s been killed in me. 😢.

3.) 05 Oct 2019 19:10:09
My take is he has to go 4 games lost on the run and every game he used the same tactics and had no plan B. after every defeat he says the same boring stuff sack him tonight and bring Rafa in.

4.) 05 Oct 2019 20:14:34
Same here, just waiting today for it to go wrong.
We need to get a unified, passionate and hard working squad back at this brilliant club.
We had the spirit and belief with the Moyes era, not by any means saying he should come back but that's the sort of passion and hard working attitude we need back.
This is killing me watching this lack lustre garbage.

5.) 05 Oct 2019 23:46:15
Benitez is the best there is out there, with a reasonable chance of coming to us that is. He is not the manager he was though, but the best we can realistically hope for I think. Silva must go. He was a gamble and has shown glimpses of what he is capable of, but I'm afraid he has also shown us what he is not capable of! Please no to Moyes. He did a good job at steadying the ship in very tough times, but he is a huge step backwards. There is nobody else that I think we could realistically expect to come to the club and take us forward, only more gambles.

Those calling for Unsworth to be given another shot cannot be serious, surely? He is at his level with the U23's and should stay there. Arteta is a huge gamble and would he even come to us?

We are in a hell of a pickle aren't we?!

6.) 07 Oct 2019 09:54:17
why delay the inevitable of sacking silva? does anyone see this man as the future of everton football club? if not pull the plug now.

Totally agree with Ed 025 on this! I'm ashamed to say that I've got to the "not bothered" stage. The whole Premier League is a sham with most teams just making up numbers. That doesn't excuse the state of our club though. I will always be Everton, but deary me, they're not making it easy!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - I have fallen out of love with football Tezza and especially with Everton I’m afraid. I have served a 64 year sentence and the grief they give me is getting too much mate. I still love the club as it’s in my blood but I have run out of excuses and will no longer defend them..

Hope not, Tadpole. I watch an awful lot of Juve on BT Sport and do enjoy watching them, they have some truly world class players - unfortunately, Sturaro isn't one of them. Very average midfielder who only makes a few cameo appearences from the bench. Now, if the rumours had been for Mario Mandzukic, that would be a different matter.!

Me too, Ed. He's been immense for Naopli this season and considering he is officially a winger he's played the lead striker role brilliantly. Great striker of the ball, top finisher and has a terrific workrate. Would be a dream signing for us if it came off!

I'm with you on this one now, Ed025. He seems like a really decent guy, the way he is with the kids and that lady at Southampton last season, but his work rate is awful! I've watched a lot of Juventus matches this season and someone should show Rom the videos of the tracking back and tackling that really top rate strikers like Dybala and Mandzukic do. They work for the team, not themselves. If Rom did this I'd be devastated to lose him, but he doesn't, so why not cash in now?

Toffee Tezza

{Ed025's Note - i have been a backer of him since he came tezza but i just want it to end now mate, lets get the deal done so that we can get his replacement and move on i say..

Going out for a pint last night and seeing all the obnoxious, noisy, paralytic England fans inside and outside the pubs reminded me why I'm not bothered at all if England don't progress in any tournaments!

Toffee Tezza

{Ed0666's Note - I think there’s many fans that feel the same way. For me I also growing up in the 70’s and 80’s there was a big racist element supporting England which stopped a lot of budding non Caucasian fans like myself from following the national team. I particularly remember a couple of incidents that happened to me that left a sour taste in the mouth which consequently prohibited me from being a supporter. Unfortunately I’ve heard this story too many times from black and Asian fellas.

Two names from Serie A that I'd like to see with us - Atalanta's Luis Muriel, Columbian striker (James or Yerri to put in a word? ) or Torino's Andrea Belotti. Torino look in big relegation trouble so he might want out!
