Sick of hearing he wasn't brands choice. No one knows really let's be honest, its all speculation. But i 100% think brands is behind this appointment.

Evocallum

1.) 12 Jun 2021 15:51:35
Are you basing that on speculation?

{Ed0666's Note - I’d be flabbergasted if brands didn’t ok Nuno otherwise he’s been undermined.

2.) 12 Jun 2021 16:14:27
Doesn’t seem a Brands type of manager with his style of play or the huge influence of his agent (which will see us miss out on a LOT of good young players because Nuno apparently ignores advice from anyone in regards to signing players except Mendes) .

{Ed0666's Note - you’ll get some great Portuguese youth nino can nurture.

3.) 12 Jun 2021 16:40:15
I’m sure we will, if it means missing out on better youth players who are unfortunate enough to be born in another country, then that’s a shame.

4.) 12 Jun 2021 17:21:50
I honestly can't believe the only players we would ever now buy would be Portugese.

5.) 12 Jun 2021 17:34:13
That’s not the point mate, it’s about who Mendes recommends. Wolves allegedly missed out on some serious talents in Germany and America because Mendes told him to get other players.

6.) 12 Jun 2021 19:39:17
As always, the majority are taking the negatives out of the potential appointment. We could get some great Portuguese talent/ we’ll miss out on talent from other countries. Let’s just see what happens.

7.) 12 Jun 2021 19:43:33
And that's when its up to Brands to show his strength, hopefully.

8.) 13 Jun 2021 08:44:40
Morning guys. I think I’m correct, Mendes is on the board at Wolves, so we may be giving Nuno undue stick regards transfer policy. Rumours are they parted ways due to not being able to meet his ambition, he needed to rebuild again. Last season was poor due to selling key players and losing several key players. They were a match for most teams since coming up. Not my first choice, but think he will do well.

9.) 13 Jun 2021 11:05:28
Portuguese or not, it's not like we have a great track record for signing great young talent from across Europe, so I'm really not sure what the argument about where he gets his young players is coming from.

I.

10.) 13 Jun 2021 17:48:25
Exactly EFCone. Personally I can't wait to get the crop of Portugal coming though. (Hopefully anyway)

11.) 15 Jun 2021 05:51:02
Nuno he ain't as good as people make him out to be, why do you think we got rid of him for. Boring stale football, give it xmas and you will be after big sam.

koulibaly Rumours have come back again as much as id love to see the man at cb with godfrey i can't see it tho. He will have clubs lining up for him

Back for

Arrons koulibaly Godfrey Digne

😍😍.

Evocallum

1.) 25 Mar 2021 15:56:27
Will cost a lot of money for a 29 year old. We have 2 good centre backs, an inconsistently incredible centre back and Holgate. If we are going to get another centre back to play alongside Godfrey I’d want someone a bit younger.

2.) 25 Mar 2021 16:45:47
I like that back four Evocallum mate.

3.) 25 Mar 2021 16:54:35
Swan come on 29 30 in summer same age as vvd age is just a number i'd have him tomorrow he is a machine he is the best around. saprised you would want someone younger when we have godfrey also he might play 3 at the back with wing backs.

4.) 25 Mar 2021 21:21:47
Good shout Ec, hope it’s true.

5.) 25 Mar 2021 22:22:59
Van Dijk would cost a lot more than Koulibaly and is a much better defender. Assuming he comes back from injury the same.

I’d like to have 2 good young centre backs instead of Godfrey and a guy who’d cost a lot of money, be on massive wages and we’d have to replace in 3 years

He’s a good centre back, not a world beater.

6.) 25 Mar 2021 23:40:11
I think that will be the plan for next season, as is the trend for top teams at the moment. Also see them signing a replacement for Delph, Besic, Bolasie, Bernard, Tosin.

My picks for the summer would be break the Bank and go for;
Aaron, Koulibaly, Rabiot, Grealish, aand Mbappe (kidding)

7.) 26 Mar 2021 18:16:49
I'm not saying I'm fussed either way if he comes or not but to say VVd is a better defender is bonkers.
Koulibaly has been one of the best in Europe for the last 5 or 6 years.
VVD has had 1-2 seasons as a world class defender. He may become better than Koulibaly in time but he needs to prove it consistently for a few more years yet.

Same here Evo, he is the one I want more than the other two, all three would be the icing on the cake.

05 Dec 2019 22:18:01
Can any off the edds tell us a bit about this vitor pereira and is it a good choice never heard much about him?

Evocallum

{Ed002's Note - Vitor Pereira would be the choice of the second and most recent advisor - he is a journeyman coach who might be interested in taking thge job for a year or two - given the first choice isn't. He is coaching a club in China right now - I don't recall which.}

1.) 06 Dec 2019 11:28:37
Who’s the first choice that you mention Ed?

2.) 06 Dec 2019 11:38:18
Shangai current Club.

I would usually say a must win today and the lads should be up for it. But am at a stage now i can't see them being up for after wolves away the first 45 was disgusting getting beat at home 5-2 to watford you would expect a reaction. Spineless bunch of players i'd take a draw today its tha bad.

Evocallum

1.) 28 Nov 2021 13:21:08
I would take a draw and only because I can’t see us getting anything. Iwobi and Rondon both starting. Playing 4-4-1-1. So looks like even Rafa hoping for a draw.
Going to be a long afternoon.

2.) 28 Nov 2021 13:24:58
Rondon and iwobi are pointless. Like being 11 vs 9. From normally having 2x gk on the bench to having 3x strikers, yet play with 1 up top? Gordon should be No.10,with Townsend on right wing. Young Tyler dropped after making his debut, yet reminds me of a Vieira type midfielder. We better get 3 points today or we in for a terrible Xmas and new year.

3.) 28 Nov 2021 13:43:05
Saving are good players for Wednesday? Wait, we got none?

4.) 28 Nov 2021 13:43:57
Let’s see what happens first lads.

Forgot what it feels like to look forward to going the games anymore feels like a convince me self to go. ?? no leader no identity no plan b no subs to call on no fight. Club is on its a**. Massive changes needed.

1.) 24 Nov 2021 14:12:01
Agree.

2.) 25 Nov 2021 00:56:21
Every single one of us knew just how hard this season was going to be with ffp and a poor squad after 5 years of bad management and recruitment.

Changing anything will not help the situation at all. Sacking another manager means compo and new wages plus a different way of playing with the same players.

We have to see if we can scrape some money to get a couple in January but next summer we could get rid of 8 players on high wages and see what we can use for new players.

Gonna be many ups and downs over the next 18 months or so, at least but we have to support the players and manager, whoever it is, and hold on tight to the roller coaster.

If you are just going to keep moaning then jog on and support someone else or stay in the pub and give ya ticket to someone who wants to go.

3.) 25 Nov 2021 10:12:48
We all have a right to voice our opinion, whether that's on here or at the game. It's all about personal opinion, and if I see something I am not happy with then I will have an opinion on it. That is what sites like this are for, to have a debate. So if you don't like reading about people's views good or bad, then don't log on. And as i'm an old bugger I won't be jogging anywhere mate.

4.) 25 Nov 2021 15:32:21
Think I will be moving on from this site and others. It's not about opinions but the hypocrisy of it all.

We can read the posts from the summer and 95% of us were saying we understood the situation, rafa needs time, going to be ups and downs but now we are struggling, everyone is moaning.

Can't understand moaning about a situation you know is happening. like moaning about energy prices going up or fuel costs. You can't change it so you have to deal with it.

5.) 25 Nov 2021 16:10:00
No it’s not. You can change it but you have to get it right. That is we’re we keep ballsing it up right now.
PS. Go on any EFC forum right now and you will see similar comments to here.

6.) 27 Nov 2021 13:45:09
I understand your frustration Geoff but honestly we, as Evertonians have a right to be completely p. ed off with management at Everton.

FFP applies to all clubs but we are probably the worst offenders in the EPL.

Who has apologised for getting us in this situation? Not Moshiri, not the directors, not the managers, not the senior management. Every big business runs with KPI's and one of ours should be compliance with FFP. WE have ignored it, spent half a billion pounds on a weak squad and we couldn't spend last summer because we didn't manage the club properly, left us open to possible points deductions, transfer bans or whatever the EPL wants to throw at us. Are we supposed to sit here and just say 'Oh well - let's not blame anyone let's just deal with it and let it carry on'
Because its still carrying on. We signed Rafa on one of the highest packages in Europe. We won't say how much we paid Rondon who should never have been signed
Yet no one is held accountable? Why is that? Maybe it's because all those responsible are owners or directors

I'm having a rant and I'm not sorry for it. If Moshiri and the others won't apologise then neither will I.

23 Nov 2021 21:01:30
We have a bunch of players who i'd say only 3/ 4 will give it all for the badge the rest are on high wages and we get nothing in return. Been like this since Moyes left. We have lost are identity teams come to goodison and have confidence to win an play football we go to ground and it takes us 70 mins to start playing. The players have a lot to answer for davies iwobi keane gomes delph gylifi and then we put pressure on the likes of gordon who is still learning. We have the likes of josh king on a free and let him go now we have rondon. The club is run by clowns it always has been an money has destroyed us.

Evocallum

1.) 23 Nov 2021 22:34:13
To late now but Moyes would have been an excellent fit.

2.) 24 Nov 2021 07:04:21
When Moyes was mentioned, very few on here wanted him back.

3.) 24 Nov 2021 12:23:58
And rightly so, JB, the man has no class! The fact that a lot of fans wouldn't want him back is all of his own doing, he let the Utd job go to his head the minute he joined them.
But why his name keeps cropping up in posts is beyond me, we already have a manager!
Rafa will steady the ship and move us forward but it will take time. He is paying for bad management that happened before he even threw his name in the hat. I understand the frustration of not using the youth players but that same accusation can be levelled at the four other managers that went before him. We have a squad of frauds, not including a couple of players, that have got other managers sacked. They will continue to put pressure on whoever is in charge as some of them don't belong in the Premier league. Until we clear the decks we will not progress. The PLAYERS are to blame for the mess we find ourselves in just as much as those who have wasted many millions of pounds.
If we keep swapping and changing managers then we will find ourselves out of the top flight for the first time in decades, the lack of stability is killing our club.

4.) 24 Nov 2021 14:56:16
Spot on BP - hopefully get a result against Brentford and then DCL could be back for the Derby and we may all feel a little more positive.

Rafa needs time and he’ll get that - however his insistence with Rondon over some of our youngsters could be his downfall.

5.) 24 Nov 2021 16:38:34
It’s not the players fault. They are being paid above their ability, they are being asked to perform at a level they can’t achieve, and they have signed long contracts so they don’t have to go anywhere.
The blame for this mess is solely down to the owners and their habit for binning managers, and then throwing money at new managers.
No continuity = No progress.

6.) 24 Nov 2021 18:00:40
Sorry, Woburn, but the players have to take blame for some of the performances they have put it. Not just this season, been the same for a few years.
Can't blame then for getting big contracts but we can for lack of commitment and passion most games.

7.) 24 Nov 2021 18:25:44
Perhaps they have just lost interest because they know this manager I won’t be here long enough for them to bother making the effort.
Managers come and go, players see out their contracts.
We’ve been average for so long now even the supporters are starting to except mediocrity.

8.) 24 Nov 2021 20:14:04
Rafa will be here for a while mate. As soon as we get some of our better players back on the pitch I believe we will improve. We just need to ride the ffp storm!

21 Nov 2021 21:26:16
Same bunch of players year after year they are not good enough an never will be worrying times ahead. Feel for rafa has a job that's made to fail. Rafa isn't the issue its the pathetic excuse of footballers on the pitch that's the issue.

Evocallum

1.) 21 Nov 2021 23:10:24
Sadly your right, we have fell hard after many bad decisions, bad buys, bad managers, we are in a mess and face some long hard seasons to fix, we are missing the spine of our team, mina doncuore and dcl, unfortunately without them the rest can't stand up, I hate seeing my club like this but we are in free fall.

2.) 22 Nov 2021 01:08:01
Poor tactics.

3.) 22 Nov 2021 09:42:41
Apart from Sam I can’t think of one manager the supporters weren’t happy with when we recruited them.
Yes the board got it wrong, but at the time they and us the supporters thought they had got it right.
They gave each manager money to spend. As it turns out they made poor choices. But again at the time many thought they were making the right choices.
We will probably find that when the new grounds built that it’s actually the wrong way around, so will need to be knocked down and built again. But we all love the idea of a new ground, don’t we?

4.) 22 Nov 2021 10:53:19
I think you will find that there were plenty that weren't happy with Silva or RK becoming our manager.
Apart from recruitment, our biggest problem has been hiring managers, giving them plenty of cash to spend, and then sacking them when things start to go wrong.
As fans, most were calling for managers to be sacked when the shtf. Are we going to do the same with rafa? Bearing in mind he has inherited this mess and has had less to spend than those that came before him. The players have been stealing a living for too long, that's where the changes need to take place.
We wanted someone to come in and buy the club. We got it. We wanted this person to have long arms and deep pockets. We got it. We wanted a brand new stadium. We're getting it. We want a team of players that show pride when crossing the white line, to show us that they're committed to the cause. Sadly, that's when they let us down.
FM has made mistakes but what can we do? We have to ride the rough times to get back on an even keel no matter how annoying that is.

5.) 22 Nov 2021 15:10:40
Well that's not what I recall BP, people on here were foaming at the idea of getting RK, and as for Silva he was lauded as the best young manager in the league by our supporters.

6.) 22 Nov 2021 16:02:59
BB, there were a few that didn't care for either. It happens every time we get a new manager, some are happy and some not so much.

08 Nov 2021 17:48:21
Still baffles me these refs are still making the wrong calls evan tho they have video evidence of the situation ?? its comical.

Evocallum

1.) 08 Nov 2021 19:31:18
It is true the keeper touched the ball first, but he brought Ricarlison down. The NBC telecast shows multiple views. From behind, the view the referee watched, it was inconclusive at worst. From the opposite view Lloris went for the legs.

It was a penalty and should have been a red card.

2.) 08 Nov 2021 21:47:27
Slo Mo shows he made contact with Richies foot before the ball. But it is what it is, we should be use to crap decisions by now. I still haven’t got over the Hamilton one against the reds. ?.

3.) 09 Nov 2021 08:02:03
Personally I didn't and still don't think it was a pen, but it is a very close call. However once the decision was made, I just can't see that it was a clear and obvious error, so shouldn't have been over turned, that's the bit I don't understand.

4.) 09 Nov 2021 12:30:15
What about the clear and obvious error afterwards given Spurs the ball when Richie got straight up + was still with the ball and had scoring opportunity when penalty awarded.

5.) 09 Nov 2021 15:21:34
Think the ref was ok - should have let play go on to see if Richarlison scored then give penalty but I think he was very confident it was a pen. After VAR it should have been a drop ball at edge of box so doubt it would have come to much.
Definitely a red card also
Frustrating match and ref got a hard deal - doubt there would have been a huge outcry if oen counted and it was a matter of millimetres.

6.) 09 Nov 2021 18:28:34
Referee was rubbish and I’m all for Allan getting in his face. It’s about bloody time one of our players reminded them that there’s two teams on the pitch. We have been far to passive, time to fight back.

7.) 10 Nov 2021 14:46:40
Do you remember Peter Reid never gave refs a minute, any more anyone can think of, as said rind ref 2 teams in the game and should keep them on their toes, because they get too much protection for getting decisions wrong and not for correct one, of refs where miked up and like rugby and cricket then you would really see how incompetent they are.

Said this loads ed the manager keeps getting the stick but the players are the same bunch for years. All spineless no heart no fight they don't deserve go wear rhe shirt. They can't do the basics right they have a lot to answer for yet we blame the manager.

Evocallum

{Ed025's Note - the players atre a disgrace callum, no heart no fight and no bottle, rafa is doing himself no favours though mate by not changing things and his stubbornness may end up costing him his job, even though i dont think changing the manager is the answer..

I can't remember the last time we dominated a game. a lot will say man united away but them i'd say we lost 2 points because davies didn't do the basics an shoot to make it 1-2. this squad lacks in a-lot of things but the basics for football players on high way should be simple. Can i just say also alex iwobi is the worst player i have ever seen play professional football the fella who scouted him needs to be sacked.
