Is it only me but I really think we are going to have the best window in years, it’s really started well and looks like it can only get better, chuffed with what Dm has brought in so far.

05 Jul 2026 21:24:44
Well, we have 2 in from last year, one brand new, so we are only really one up. Really hoping for a quality rb and a player that could cover lb. Really want a decent striker and someone to replace Gueye.

05 Jul 2026 22:50:57
No, we're 2 up, a loan turned into a permanent contract.

05 Jul 2026 23:26:34
Yes, a good start, now let's see a right-back and striker.

{Ed025's Note - lets not paint the Mona Lisa with watercolours, we have 1 player more than we finished last season so poorly with...and he has never played at this level, so lets not get carried away just yet..

06 Jul 2026 07:51:58
Bunkers, I meant numbers wise.

06 Jul 2026 09:32:25
I'm sure you said the same about the last summer window, GB! I hope you are right though; we need a run of luck after the last few seasons.

And it's definitely one addition from last year. I'm not counting George or Rohl as they have already warmed our bench for a large part of last season.

06 Jul 2026 12:29:49
Spot on there Ed.

06 Jul 2026 14:17:20
Every pre-season, BR2526.

05 Jul 2026 17:35:12
76,000 tickets sold for the Super 6 at Hill Dicky this weekend, and just confirmed again for next year. Lionesses few months ago, and Eng v Fiji Rugby Union next weekend. Our Stadium will be in so much revenue.

05 Jul 2026 18:03:03
And this is before concerts get added to the calendar too. Add tours and other events and we will be in a strong spending position in a year or two.

05 Jul 2026 18:38:30
I'm just hoping to get tickets for Lille preseason friendly.

Any idea when tickets go on sale?

It'll be nice to see how much these extra events generate for us. If we can also sign half the Chinese team and push short sales in the Far East, that would be useful.

05 Jul 2026 19:00:04
I actually think that nationality will be a major consideration for transfers now. Son at Spurs was a megastar in Korea. A few Japanese players that would improve our squad and make good business sense.

05 Jul 2026 19:33:59
A decent American player would be financially savvy also.

05 Jul 2026 20:14:08
If you get the US striker, he's immune from red cards too. Bonus.

05 Jul 2026 20:26:05
A Russian would be good as well.

05 Jul 2026 22:08:35
Yes GB, the Russian and Mykolenko would get on like a house on fire.

05 Jul 2026 21:28:50
Moyes likes to play slowly sideways and backwards. He won't play anyone who's Russian, GB.

05 Jul 2026 12:09:40
McNeil for either of w/hams full backs, that a deal I could live with.

Hi all hope everyone has had a good weekend and everyone is all safe just a question for Ed 001 or any of the gang on here what's you're foughts on this psr and opinions on clubs spending big like man city buying anderson for 116 million yet there is 115 charges and still no verdict man United spending big yet they are apparently in debt Tottenham are apparently on verge signing tonali for 100 mil and another 85 mil on fernandes from West ham yet Aston villa might have sell Rogers to meet psr requirements and Newcastle with tonali also hull sold 2 there players otherwise they would been hit with a breach just madness but hope youse all have a good Sunday and PS I like evertons new home kit as well in my opinion UTFT

{Ed001's Note - it is SCR now isn't it? And debt doesn't factor into it any more, it is all about revenue. Easiest way to think about it is to look at it that for every 100 quid the club earns it can spend 85 (I think it is 85% in the Prem off the top of my head, it is a lower amount in European competition) on players salaries, transfer fees and agent fees. So the enormous debt Man Utd and Spurs are carrying does not factor into it, which is also good for Everton, who also have a large debt due to the new stadium.

Man City is a different thing, but they have a whole group of clubs who can feed them players to sell, which is how they can spend. The 115 (it is actually a lot more than that now) charges is something that is dragging on and is really frustrating and that is down to the Prem and FA simply being weak. It really should be sorted by now.}

Brilliant insight as always ed 001 thank you for feedback mate and i never have been able to do percentages including in school ??

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. At least you went to school, I was never much good at actually getting there!}

05 Jul 2026 14:20:13
All you had to do was read and listen as ED001 obviously did. People are still burbling on about PSR all over the sites. Spurs are spending big because their income is growing (Stadium) as will ours but patience needed.

05 Jul 2026 14:29:20
I'm fed up with PSR, SCR or any of the other rules that have been brought in Andy. For me, it's just widened the gap between those with huge incomes and those without, and it will only accelerate it.

There was an article by Kieran Maguire (think that's his name - some football finance expert) who said Villa, Newcastle and the likes of ourselves will continue to need to sell players to not be done for overspending.

City, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs do not need to worry about it. They can keep buying players for stupid amounts and if they flop, the cost is absorbed by their revenue - lots of it is down to merchandise and events based. He specifically cited city and Chelsea who never had the issues others have nowadays - plus we know there have been dodgy dealings by both. These clubs were bought by billionaires who were allowed to invest regardless, without constraints, which has put them where they are now and the current rules mean no one else can do the same.

I'd like to see something introduced which closed the gap between the richest and poorest prem teams but such a commercial driven industry (that football has become) will not let that happen. They reference teams like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford all doing well but I am not convinced that will last. Villa have bucked the trend but are falling foul of UEFA fines each year and still hovering round PSR/SCR limits.

Anyone else who does well then gets their best players bought up by one of the breakaway 6 who can simply afford to put them on the bench week in; week out if they want to.

City were nobody 20 years ago. They spent money, like Chelsea, which would have likely resulted in multiple points deductions if today's rules were applied. When they have been found out, Chelsea were given a slap on the wrist and a pointless fine - I reckon City will get the same. I don't care what they say about Chelsea abiding by rules and being under new ownership, a points deduction should have been applied for consistency if they have done it to us and Forest. It's an absolute farce.

Sometime in the 2030s there will be a breakaway Euro Super League like they tried to start a few years ago. It'll be sooner if the FA or League try to punish any of the breakaway six.

As for the debt side of things, that's a whole other issue with the modern game.

I don't know what the solution is but the current one doesn't work for me. I'm assuming many supporters outside the breakaway six would agree but then again, maybe many of them enjoy the current system where most competitions will be won by one or more of six teams with their best players being snapped up by them also.

05 Jul 2026 11:47:38
Tell you what, I would go all out for that Orlando Gill.

Can't work out how he is 26 and only played 50 odd career games thought but he is some keeper.

Plays for San Lorenzo so would be available for very cheap.

I would rather have him read to step in/challenge Pickford than Travers or King.

05 Jul 2026 13:02:42
Certainly a talented keeper, BN. About the only player in that team that can be proud of what happened last night.

05 Jul 2026 11:37:50
Taking oblong over a rb I can only assume he is still playing at the World Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2026 12:57:26
Let's hope he is in good shape.

05 Jul 2026 15:48:25
I need to lose some weight from my fat fingers.

05 Jul 2026 10:43:11
The decline of unstructured street football hinders overall youth player development. By losing jumpers for goalposts children miss out on critical hours of daily autonomous decision-making and creative problem-solving that structured coaching environments simply cannot replicate.
I am calling for the parents and government to bring this back and make street football a thing again, because if we don’t, football will continue to decline. We aren’t producing the players we used to and it sucks.

The players are like robots now, no skill, no style, no chip on their shoulders.
When Rooney was 16 he was tougher than a lot of men. These 16 year olds now are soft as butter, more like 11 year olds than 16. Street football would toughen them up.
I coach 14 year olds that can’t do keepy ups and have never played headers and volleys. That surely can’t be right.
We need to find a way to get kids playing again.

{Ed025's Note - im with you Dino..

Agree3 Disagree0

05 Jul 2026 12:01:37
Could be something in that Dino.
They're coached to death from 6 years old.
Sometimes think we'd be better off scouting non league teams for raw talent and then putting them in the u21s to see who progresses.

05 Jul 2026 13:01:02
A lot of kids these days are glued to phones and technology. When I was a lad I was out playing football for 2-3 hours most evenings. You don't see stuff like this anymore.

05 Jul 2026 18:30:00
I remember at the infants/junior school. We were all football mad and if we couldn't get hold of a football, we used a tennis ball in the yard. Learn to control, pass and shoot with a tennis ball, then it gives you great control of a proper football.

05 Jul 2026 10:16:15
Thought we may have gone for Trossard, seems like a Moyes signing.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jul 2026 10:50:43
He is a good player, and would've been happy with him, however, I hope this means Jack is coming back.

05 Jul 2026 09:12:08
Morning everybody, just like to say nice to see young blood coming in for the midfield and wide positions. Hopefully we finally get a right back who is a right back, but my concern is while we would have most positions covered we won't win anything with those 2 up front.

17 goals between them; we were one of the least potent teams last year, and that won't change until we replace that pair up front. We have the tools to provide for clinical strikers, but I doubt either of them come in that catergory.

05 Jul 2026 12:45:15
I see we are meant to have submitted a formal bid for Italian RB Bellanova.
Anyone got any knowledge of him? Glad to see us going in for proper RB at least, if report is correct.

05 Jul 2026 14:24:38
Good defensively and can also get forward, as played WB. He is a lot better than what we have.

05 Jul 2026 14:43:06
Sounds ideal!

04 Jul 2026 22:59:58
Female commentators 'This hasn't been a 3-0 game' result 3-0.

05 Jul 2026 14:17:14
Not sure what you are getting at dms.

I assume they mean there should have been either more goals than three or it was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested.

Which game was it?
