I'll take Moyes football over the last several years. Played half a good season under Ancelotti but other than that, the last 10+ years has been hard to watch and enjoy.

12 Oct 2026 10:16:55
What and this isn't hard to watch?
12 Oct 2026 10:59:47
The bar has been set verry low, we have hsd some shocking managers over the past 10 years and the football has been dreadful but to say the football we are watching at the moment is good to watch is some statement, i think moyes has done a good job with what we have but his team selections are still baffling.
But i think he is the best option until we have new owners.
12 Oct 2026 13:26:28
Ive watched every game. We are much easier on the eye than anytime in the last 6 seasons. Is it great? If we had put 2 or 3 more in the net then? Yeah itd be great. This inability to bury our numerous chances is already a sore point. It'll significantly damage our potential. And this is not DMs fault. Luckily the goons whos at fault have decided that its time to follow the stated script defined by the late 02.
We are now for sale. Unbeaten and seemingly in far better shape than the summer would have us believe. After witnessing the Big S and SD Rafa Frank tripe, i'm definitely entertained and matchdays are full of expectations. Yet in isolation the moaning on here is in full effect. Probably why I maybe popin once a week instead of multiple times a day as in the past.
12 Oct 2026 15:50:56
Stating the bloody obvious is not moaning, we are slightly better than we were but as has been mentioned the bar has been set very low. Unbeaten but have only won two games from those six, with harder games coming up. Early days yet so let's see where we are by the end of the year. More wins than draws hopefully.
12 Oct 2026 18:43:07
Of course it's not, some seem to think they know better mate.
12 Oct 2026 00:15:07
Barry's endeavour and chasing lost causes I admire, and after missing 3 massive chances he didn't hide away and got his goal, and it was the hardest chance of the three, pretty much sums up his season really, he is getting into the right positions all the time but jeez his finishing is abysmal, the Premier League is cut throat and ruthless and you never get an easy ride in any game where 3 points are guaranteed so how many BIG CHANCES has this guy missed, we should of been out of sight yet again and this has happened in a few games if it wasn't for his misses, we should be sitting on about 15 points right now, the one from 3 yards out is unforgivable, as for the defence we have been pretty solid but AMN you have to look at yourself for both goals conceded.
First he has loads of time to find a blue shirt and fluffs it and Mia kicks it, the second one is ridiculous, you tried to do a stupid back heel instead of putting the ball into row Z. Whilst we are still unbeaten that felt like a defeat.

Big Dunc worked one on one with DCL & that's when he produced his best scoring stats for us. Maybe Moyes should ring the big fella & ask him if he'll coach our strikers.
Barry gets into all the right areas but squanders too many opportunities. Give him one on one sessions with Dunc & see if it works.
UTFT NSNO ? ? ?.
12 Oct 2026 08:04:15
Barry is terrible what's the point of scoring one and missing 6 that's like a keeper saving one but conceding 6 and people saying he is a good keeper he has no idea what he is doing just runs about like headless chicken kicking thin air most times. Sunday league quality he is.
{Ed025's Note - i think you are bigging him up too much there Dino..
12 Oct 2026 10:23:04
Can you imagine how many more points we'd have with a decent striker?
12 Oct 2026 11:05:44
DCL scoring spree was more to do with Ancelloti telling him to hit everything first time in the box and giving him confidence to do so. DCL has actually been quoted with saying this. Nothing to do with Ferguson.
12 Oct 2026 13:51:03
Dont get the obsession with ferguson.
12 Oct 2026 15:25:37
I'm quite sure DCL also referenced and credited Ferguson as well in a couple of interviews, BR. He was certainly getting one-to-one coaching from him that season.
12 Oct 2026 15:59:41
Barry's goal per game ratio is roughly the same as Ferguson's but he hasn't got an Everton tattoo and doesn't go round the pitch chinning people so he is garbage.
12 Oct 2026 21:03:46
Reg, Ancelotti told DCL to stay in and around the box, and to stop wasting energy chasing lost causes. Our striker now is expected to chase everything and run himself into the ground?♂️.
11 Oct 2026 17:35:14
I know he tries and keeps getting in the positions to score plus he is are only experienced striker but how many points is he going to cost us this season. AMN should of done better for both of there goals as well and to predictable going down the left all time.
Garner and KDH Corners were poor as well. thought Hackney and dibling looked positive when they came on. Bring on chelski.

11 Oct 2026 18:23:34
Yep agree 100% mate.
11 Oct 2026 18:35:08
Can improve finishing with repetition. Personally don't think positioning is coachable to the same degree
Barry will continue to miss chances, but you can't deny he's scoring at a good rate. We are Everton, we are without top strikers.
Lad has 6 goals already this season, wasn't our top scorer last campaign 10 or something?
He's frustrating and its always the sitter missed we remember, but the lad gets in the spots. i think he's getting better personally but do understand the frustration amongst fans. Not convinced we'll go and replace with someone who scores more.
{Ed025's Note - sometimes we just have to admit that a player is totally crap PB, him and Brennan certainly fit into that category mate im afraid..
11 Oct 2026 18:48:02
I get your point PB but we really should have been out of sight first half, I'm happy with fifth spot but we could be so much better mate with a half decent finisher.
11 Oct 2026 19:48:30
I agree with you both he's not as good as i'd want as my striker in a perfect world
But you see the one £45m delap missed today? He's got 1 this season.
Brobbey at Sunderland everyone raving about has less than barry in similar appearances over his 2 seasons
Solanke got his 1st yday of the season 13 goals in 48 apps playing for spurrs
DCL used to miss guilt edged chances too, but he was more polished in open play
Strikers that score and look good in general play are just a rare commodity these days. I was going to say unless spend big, but Spurs and United can't find one either. We were so spoilt by Lukaku and even then a fair few fans didn't rate him!
12 Oct 2026 10:25:18
PB, that's a very sensible post ?.
12 Oct 2026 12:01:20
Think we are forgetting strikers miss a lot of chances, even the 1 from a couple yards out. I rememeber Ronaldo missing from that range so it happens, the lads only 23 he's scoring but he's still struggling with certain things, I was never his biggest fan, but he's improving and has goals, all those saying he's terrible are clueless, look at the teams in the prem, see how many goals there strikers have and see where barry is, I think becasue he still makes the big errors is a simple situation it makes him look a lot worse, but as any striker in the prem they miss more than they score unless your halland, he's a young player with a lot going on and i'm starting to see improvement, if he was just stood there offering nothing I could understand some of the comments, but rash comments because the result didn't go our way just gets on my tits and makes you all sound like your a teenager having a strop, the reason we didn't win was becasue of AMN end of, he made 2 huge mistakes that cost us the game, never mind weather barry missed easy chances we had score 2 goals that should of been enough, a lot of player yesterday weren't up to the task, so don't just blame barry becasue its and easy, look at 75 % of te team that players poorly.
12 Oct 2026 17:27:27
He is seemingly getting better, BP, but that doesn't make him immune from criticism. The two goals we conceded were poor and came from mistakes by AMN, as you point out. But Barry could have had the game out of sight for us. It's right to point that out as well as the defending for the two we gave away.
He's doing better than we all probably thought he would but I still want us to sign a striker that can come into the team immediately and give Barry time off the bench. He's not good enough to lead the line right now.
11 Oct 2026 16:17:32
It all starts from team selection, get it wrong and you are up against it from the start, we are still unbeaten which in one positive to take from the game but for me we should be beating hull, moyes won't change, we have talked about it over and over and it won't be le last time,

11 Oct 2026 16:25:08
Plays for a draw so its mission accomplished for him.
11 Oct 2026 16:31:40
What utter rubbish the players let him down not the tactics wake up.
11 Oct 2026 16:38:00
He chooses the team mate.
11 Oct 2026 16:38:09
He picked the players? I think you are in the minority pasty.
11 Oct 2026 16:40:04
Have to agree Bluepasty, Barry the biggest of all should have had at least a hat trick, AMN and Tarks were poor as well, the players definitely let DM down.
11 Oct 2026 16:40:12
That's the first goals they have conceded at home isn't it? Barry should have put us out of sight, if he finished some of those chances we would have won comfortably. Two mistakes cost us goals.
Here's a breakdown of the game stats
We had 65% possession.
15 shots, 7 on target.
6 big chances missed.
Accurate passes 511, with 86.9% accuracy.
Hull only bettered us at corners and cards. So, on reflection, that team selection should have won that game, especially if we didn't make 2 costly defensive errors and if Barry could finish his dinner. He scored the hardest one of the lot!
11 Oct 2026 16:47:25
Maybe he shouldn't have started with Barry then and picked the players in the correct position along the back 4.
11 Oct 2026 16:57:47
Picks the team and the tactics plays for a draw every away game.
11 Oct 2026 17:00:34
Defence let us down as well as Barry, better 2nd half.
11 Oct 2026 17:18:35
It was ANM who made mistakes that lead to goals, I think everyone would have started with him. Barry is our only forward and should have buried Hull himself today. It wasn't on the team selection, as the stats show, it was down to individual errors and poor finishing that cost us 2 points.
11 Oct 2026 17:24:21
I can see both sides to the argument. Moyes is too pragmatic and constantly gives the opposition too much respect. But the chances were there today to score at least 5 goals. Poor selection? Maybe. But we only have one striker so it's him or nothing.
But we could have picked better players around him and we didn't. So I wouldn't disagree with anyone who said he picks a team that won't lose rather than a team that's set up to attack and possibly win.
It's what you get with Moyes. He's not changing but right now given the state of the squad size I'm prepared to put up with it.
Ironically this is my pragmatic view whilst criticising the pragmatic tactics.
11 Oct 2026 17:27:56
Different striker playing up front today and we win 4 or 5 2 guy is a disgrace of a footballer.
11 Oct 2026 17:46:51
Why didn't he just pick someone else to play up front, he playes defenders out of there natural position.
{Ed025's Note - any half decent forward would have got a hattrick for us today Skylark..
11 Oct 2026 18:43:28
Like who? It's easy being a manager from the sofa! JB can play the left back role competently and had a decent game, he was the only one out of his natural position.
Again, the team selected created enough to win the game, we bossed possession, had a good passing accuracy percentage and had more shots on and off target. It was silly mistakes at the back (by a player in his natural position) and poor finishing that cost us the full 3 points. You would have a stronger argument if we created nothing but that wasn't the case today. We should have won against a team that others have struggled against in their own gaff so far this season.
11 Oct 2026 16:15:58
A lot of focus will be on Barry's misses. AMN at fault for both goals though, had to deal with both of those situations better.

and George.
Keane over Obrien even worse for me.
Manager will never change. Hate him.
11 Oct 2026 13:53:52
Sorry but Johnson has done a lot since he came in, he has missed at least two sitters and he was offside for Barry's second goal. Apart from that he has done very little to justify a regular starting place.
We can only hope Moyes can see the big picture.
O'Brien will be off, somehow Moyes sees him as a fourth option at center-back.
Let's hope that we sneak a win, although set up for a draw. The substitutions will be critical, hopefully not left too late to make an impact.
11 Oct 2026 12:51:02
Same old story Moyes playing 3 centre backs and O'Brien isn't even one of them brennans offerd nothing since he arrived yet gets the nod in front of George and Tyler every game the enthusiasm gets absorbed by his team selection it ruins it all the time just got to hull and my excitement has dipped straight away.

11 Oct 2026 12:58:37
To be fair, what other option does he have for left back?
I agree with the sentiments on Johnson though, I was hoping he'd be benched.
11 Oct 2026 13:12:26
AMN can play there and Rohl or garner right back keep jarrad our best centre back in his correct position.
11 Oct 2026 13:13:06
Maitland Niles done a few stints at left back earlier in his career.
Then you play Obrien at RB as moyes has done most games in his second tenure.
Keane will cost us at least 1 goal today, always does. And then he also starts our 3rd best RW wide option which would be agreed by 99% of the football world.
Dino.
11 Oct 2026 13:22:07
Exactly dino he has swapped McNeil for Johnson in every shape of the word won't drop him them 2 young wingers confidence will be on the floor soon enough and Jake O'Brien must be thinking what the f*** is going on here the same centre backs pairing that conceded 2 goals a game last season
Hope I'm proven wrong but we need to score 3 today to stand any chance of winning.
11 Oct 2026 13:33:37
Haha i meant Dinosaur but can see the confusion.
Just the standard for me in which you wait all week for the game, excited, and then excitement is destroyed by a team sheet before a ball is kicked.
11 Oct 2026 13:49:22
Jesus what are you on, wait till after the game before you throw your toys out of your prams and to hate a manager that's unbeaten shows the mentality of your comments.
If we lose then have your say, and for all of you stuck record of kean will be this and that, he's not let us down in god knows how many games lately.
11 Oct 2026 16:06:21
Well we haven't lost yet but it could be so much better. Yes Barry scored but he was back to his best at missed chances and sulking.
99.99% of our attacking play goes through Graelish. Johnson apart from the disallowed goal was a non-entity and even when George came on nothing much changed.
If Moyes keeps the same defense next week we will get hammered.
11 Oct 2026 18:39:14
Could go unbeaten all season and still finish bottom ten when your manager prioritises 0-0 over winning a game.
So yes i hate him because i believe football is entertainment. wouldn't mind one bit if we was hamstrung and had no options but he has two of the most exciting young English wingers at his disposal and refuses to play them.
He also knows the goal conceding record with Michael Keane, 2 again today.
