Trump has phoned Infantanno asking for a review of the USA v Belgium score, demanding a replay because the present redult will leave a nasty stain on yhe tournament.

As far as I'm aware we return for pre-season at the end of the week and we have one new face in the squad. Basically we've extended the stay of Rhol and George and unfortunately done the same with Mykolenko, a player I would've been glad to see the back of, as in my opinion he's not even good enough to be used as a back up.
So, as a bare minimum we still need a first choice RB, LB, No6, 2 Strikers and given the issues we've had with Branthwaite probably a decent CB as cover ( possibly Stones if the deal is good for all parties ) .
It will be interesting in the coming weeks to what our recruitment team have up their sleeves.
Unfortunately ( for those of a certain age ) I think Harry Corbett has more up sleeves.
07 Jul 2026 14:27:42
Sorry Shropshire, but I think Harry Corbett's sleeves rotted a long time ago... but, thinking about it, you are still probably right!
07 Jul 2026 15:58:09
We ain't signing any striker while we have the chuckle brothers on the books. Need 1 to be sold at least and what knobhead is gonna buy them.
07 Jul 2026 21:18:49
Makes a lot of sense what you say, Shropshire, in terms of what we need, a RB, as I've said many times before, should have been the priority signing in my opinion.
08 Jul 2026 01:18:22
We needed a right back about 3 seasons ago. Agree, left back is a real issue as well. All well and good getting on Barry and Beto's backs, and I'm not saying I disagree, but although we have better midfielders, the lack of quality full backs is a real stumbling block.
08 Jul 2026 14:31:19
LB not an issue for me, Mykolenko does his job, and the young lad (needs to change his attitude) will come through. Give Mykolenko a Pienaar.
07 Jul 2026 10:22:50
I'm expecting it to go quiet on the transfer front now for a couple of weeks. Got 3 deals done in 2 weeks, the team will need a break before the deadline day rush.
07 Jul 2026 11:43:14
I'm not, I'm expecting more to come in.
07 Jul 2026 12:50:30
It doesn't go quiet and Everton are no slower than any other Club, each have their own criteria and priorities. Us 'experts' are just giving opinions, moans and advice to ourselves. Moyes three or four times, he still doesn't know who I am. ???
07 Jul 2026 13:41:41
Shame that dms, you would soon put him right, mate, I'm sure. ??
07 Jul 2026 16:58:13
A few good chats, especially 100 percent on his way to us, then Ancellotti happened.
07 Jul 2026 10:16:38
I can see Moyes and Everton trying to agree a Liam Delap loan with a £ 20 million obligations to buy. ????
07 Jul 2026 11:43:31
That would be a sensible deal if you ask me.
07 Jul 2026 11:47:47
It looks as though Delap wants to stay and fight for his place.
07 Jul 2026 13:31:48
Music to my ears that Dev.
Lad seems a bit of a tit and looking at his finishing for Chelsea last year, is not what we should be after.
08 Jul 2026 14:32:18
Not just a bit of one.
07 Jul 2026 10:09:05
If we are going for Rico Lewis from City, then, if, as believed, Jack is also signing again, it will be a choice of which player is the best to loan and which to buy. Jack is free next season, but it might be financially better to sign him now and loan Lewis for a season, and all other permutations, as you can’t loan two players from the same team.
Hope that makes sense.

Buy Lewis, he has a future, loan Grealish, then get him for nothing or look for a younger version.
07 Jul 2026 12:55:53
For me, Jack is a good person and not too shabby a person, but when he has the ball, we have to position and play to his pace, and he can't shoot. Yes, I would prefer a loan, but we need to persuade him, his agent, and City to be realistic on wages.
07 Jul 2026 06:16:09
Iliman Ndiaye never really pulled up any trees or really enhanced his reputation on the world stage this World Cup. Let's see what he and his agents' stance is now about wanting to leave and text himself on a bigger stage with Champions League football. It's good that he has that ambition. It's more the way you go about it when choosing to court the press.
07 Jul 2026 11:40:53
If Ndiaye left and we got Bowen, then I would not be too upset about that.
06 Jul 2026 21:26:36
I think, hope that next season will see different approach. The younger midfield/attacking players we now have is positive.
I don't think Gueye will sign for some reason. And I think McNeil will go to West Ham.
But that still leaves us with
Tim
Garner
KDH
Hackney
Rohl
Armstrong
Alcaraz
Ndiaye
George
And hopefully Grealish
That's much stronger than we've had for fair few years.
06 Jul 2026 22:50:50
Agreed, bb. It was always going to be a steady rebuild. Last pre-season had a lot of players out of contract, so it seemed a case of just getting bodies through the door. I think this year we look to be adding quality, and in a timely fashion.
I can see DMc and Alcaraz leaving this summer. Hopefully we won't be pressured into letting our better players go.
We really need a rb and a forward in as soon as. Hopefully the recruitment team will earn their coin for once.
07 Jul 2026 03:30:05
McNeil definitely out, hopefully a make weight in a deal for Noble. Charlie never really got the chance & will probably leave. Gana will go, Tim will go & hopefully Barry will go.
N'diyae & Branthwaite are key to pushing on next year & hopefully they will remain.
A few decent signings in Hackney, George & Merlin. Definitely need a right back, a striker & in an ideal world, a left back too.
A good start in the window though & feeling very positive so far.

07 Jul 2026 10:44:17
I'm hoping you mean Bowen, Welsh?
08 Jul 2026 12:23:35
Hahahaha. I do mean Bowen, although Noble would probably do more than our current crop.
06 Jul 2026 19:17:24
Ok so I'm being greedy, but I just don't see George and Rohl as new signings. Yes I know officially they are but it doesn't feel like they are.
Hackney is a good signing but now we need a right back and a striker.
Hopefully some of the young lads who got splinters in there arses will get the chance to step up next season as well.
06 Jul 2026 20:07:31
I said the same, mate.
06 Jul 2026 22:26:30
If they played for us last season, they aren't new signings in my eyes, they are re-signed players.
Club needs to get a RB in asap. That will kick start my positivity.
06 Jul 2026 18:47:46
Ed25, do you have Troy Deeneys address, only I have several large portions of humble pie to deliver to the man, but he seems to have gone missing.
{Ed025's Note - he has crawled back under his rock i believe AB..
07 Jul 2026 03:13:27
Think I heard him say on Talksport that he now lives in New York. Although I don't usually understand much he says, so maybe it was White or Jordan said he lives in NY.
06 Jul 2026 18:01:16
How much legs has the rumour were going in for one or two Japanese players that have just played in the World Cup? Anyone know anymore about them as players? Short on info and knowledge. Thanks.
06 Jul 2026 19:58:58
Regardless if they are any good or not, the commercial prospects would be huge.
06 Jul 2026 22:29:59
Think we still need to buy quality BMD. Remember when we bought Li Tie and Li Weifeng? They hardly made us a fortune in Chinese revenue..
06 Jul 2026 22:53:17
They have got to be of Premiership quality or what's the point of assigning them a squad number? If they are worse than what we currently have, then it's a waste of a squad position.
07 Jul 2026 00:49:47
I like the Japanese. You will never get on shirking on commitment to the cause that is for sure.
Not sure I would move for the striker Ueda, as he will be over 30m and I think there are better out there. That being said, I wouldn't be gutted if we did get him, as he is better than the Chuckle Brothers.
If I could have one from their side, it would be Sano. The lad never stops, and he would be the engine in the middle that can replace Gana.
I would also take that Maeda as he works his arse off too and has a great ability to win the ball back in dangerous areas due to his pressing ability. He has great movement and loves to run in behind with his pace, and will keep doing it due to his top drawer stamina.
He seems to pop up in big moments, having scored in World Cups, Champions League games and Old Firm derbies aplenty. He can play across the entire front line too, and would suit Moyes to the ground with his overall work rate.
I think he only has 1 year left on his deal too, so would be available for a modest fee.
Nakamura had a good WC, and he is actually a clever footballer, but is similar to Grealish in the sense that he doesn't have top level pace. He does have great agility and can thread through balls very well.

You forget, boys, our new owners are looking to make money, and the Japanese market is huge. As fans we want the best players, but billionaires want what makes them the most money.
