This is getting embarrassing under Moyes now aside from the team selections and player decisions and tactics etc we go behind from another corner 🤦🏻 So depressing being an Evertonian.

24 Oct 2026 16:00:06
The first minute summed us up for me.

After 20 seconds we have a throw in by the corner flag, but instead of trying to get the ball in the box, it's played back to Pickford.

Can anyone explain why we set up to counter attack, but never actually counter attack? We are so slow in transition. Then when we are attacked, we're all over the show and out of position, we look like we're overcommited. I don't see how this can logically happen.

24 Oct 2026 13:51:13
So no Jack or JB. Bloody hell.

1

24 Oct 2026 14:38:10
not good.

2

24 Oct 2026 13:31:22
I wonder if Barry has got his mates at the game today.

2

24 Oct 2026 13:47:59
Hope we go at them from the off no sitting back.

23 Oct 2026 16:59:35
Anyone see Moyes' presser? A little worrying, he was pressed on player availability (especially JB) he said they were 'a few things they were dealing with' but refused to comment further.

1

23 Oct 2026 17:41:41
Yeah mate I did I don't reckon JB will start tomorrow mate.

1

24 Oct 2026 10:14:04
Of JB is crocked again, I genuinely think we need to think about cashing in on him soon.

He's with England, under a long contract and young. We'd make a packet.

I've been worried for a while that he might just be one of those players when it comes to being injured.

23 Oct 2026 09:58:36
Big upset tomorrow gooooners 1 Everton 2 just the job, we get at them upset the prima donas and for once VAR and the ref on our side we can do it COYB.

2

23 Oct 2026 10:39:23
Would be nice GB but we don't get at teams, we sit back and let them play.

0

23 Oct 2026 10:44:09
I can see him playing the same XI that started against Chelsea. Sitting back with no ambition and hoping for a 0-0.

1

23 Oct 2026 11:36:18
Would take that Swinners mate.

2

23 Oct 2026 14:13:38
Getting cold feet GB? You normally have us winning 2-0. I think the best we can hope for is a draw but if we put out the starting eleven from last week we will be slaughtered. Time for Moyes to grow a pair and have a go.

1

23 Oct 2026 14:46:38
No mate but the gooooners haven't been firing on all cylinders lately and their defence is weak, I reckon we can nick this one mate.

1

23 Oct 2026 14:47:39
Agree Mike they deserve it after last weeks dross mate.

1

24 Oct 2026 10:15:27
I'm going to go for a sneaky 1-0 win for us. With Barry getting back in on the goals.

0

22 Oct 2026 15:30:07
No Saka for the Gooooners tomorrow hope it helps us hmmmm.

2

22 Oct 2026 20:23:46
Oops Sat of course.

1

22 Oct 2026 21:49:02
Nah they will just play that young lad who mugged us last time.

0

21 Oct 2026 19:12:05
You know for all the moaning on here, it could be worse you could be losing 3-0 away at Como 1907. Oh wait that's. Man United and we think it's all doom and gloom, well there's something to laugh about.

4

21 Oct 2026 19:46:55
Ooops 4-1 at full time,
Keep smiling blues
UTFT.

22 Oct 2026 03:09:54
However you realize what this means? They will be after Branthwaite in January.

22 Oct 2026 02:00:45
Big 6. Spurs, bottom of the league, united, a joke, city, about to be kick out, are neighbours, a defence, you could run a horse cart through.
But then, a corrupt Premier League set on keeping it's cosy cartel in place, on balance, wish they had done one and joined their supper league, then the rest of us might bring our game back to it's true origins.

A game for working class men, not polluted by US, or middle east money.

22 Oct 2026 09:45:33
Perfect post 100%agree.

Couldn't the rest of the league have a vote to get the super league 6 removed there becoming a stain on the once great british game I don't know anyone who enjoys watching the Premier League it's like pulling teeth with all the legal stuff n talks about money.

21 Oct 2026 00:54:13
Makes me laugh when I see discussion about the size and quality of our squad. In my humble opinion we don't have a squad, we have number of players who Moyes has faith in and will use them apart from injury. They include: Pickford, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Maitland-Niles, Garner, Armstrong, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Johnson and Barry. That makes 12 core players that he will use most of the time.

The rest: O'Brien, Hackney, Norgaard, Rohl, Alcaraz, George, Dibbling, Graham, Travers and King he either uses as substitutes, gives short cameo appearances or uses them only if one of the core players is injured.

If he does use them it is often not at their favorite position, for example O'Brien at right-back not at center-back. He either thinks that they are too young, not ready or not good enough or cannot defend.

Consequentially the opposing Manager knows exactly what he will face, knows most of the attacking play will go through Grealish and will know for certain that we will lack speed and will be set up defensively.

Going forward nothing will change, we will be safe from relegation but the question will always be "what if, Moyes had given some of fringe players a chance? ".

21 Oct 2026 07:51:57
Agree completely- we all know the result against Arsenal will be a loss. He has an awful record against top 6 sides- doesn't attack and we are just sitting ducks.

He needs to be gone ASAP.

2

21 Oct 2026 07:57:55
Your a bundle of laughs Sobs mate.

3

21 Oct 2026 08:50:10
Never know he might surprise us and play five centre backs. Go 5-4-1. 90mins of solid defending 0-0 draw and everyone is happy. Apparently.

0

21 Oct 2026 10:20:11
If we beat or notch up a draw against Arsenal, he will feel totally vindicated, and so on, and the question marks are stored away. We all know this.
The gunners don't do 'draws' atm, and they have only lost one right now; otherwise, they would be on a par with the ''cheats''.

If we do lose to them, I for one won't be shocked, but if they beat the drum and go down fighting, plus Moyes tries some out-of-the-box ideas for a change, then I will at least have a bit of reassurance.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - we need to see what side he puts out Rus, if im honest i dont think there will be much change from last week...but i live in hope mate..

2

21 Oct 2026 10:31:24
20 visits to the Emirates and we have won one game. I'm with Sobs on this one.

0

21 Oct 2026 16:35:55
Bundle of laughs GB - just google his record against top 6 - it's awful.
I can come on here like you and say we will win 3-1 3-0 2-0 every week but it's just never going to happen.

Wish I could think this way but I've literally had enough - Sunderland Brighton palace Forest etc all in Europe - look at us - why are we always so hopeless year in year out.

0

21 Oct 2026 17:37:01
I know light hearted gaff till the weekend, sitting ducks I bet we quackered mate.

1

21 Oct 2026 21:41:35
Completely agree Mike - he's so predictable, both in the lineup and tactics, that basically ANY team with any tactical nouse can pull us apart.

The fact that every other team has been able to make chances against Chelsea, except us, is a testament to how easy we are to nullify.

0

21 Oct 2026 22:18:45
No bother GB - I'm just so annoyed as you can tell - but I'll cheer up mate - I hoping Barry bangs one in - then does his celebration as if he hadn't just missed 13 sitters - that always makes me laugh- have a good weekend 👍.

Who is the good players we have because I think we have 3/4 and rest are crap and we have no options up front who you want to play a kid who isn't good enough or a midfielder out of position or you want to play George up front because I will tell you he is bloody useless up there and he is useless as a winger never ever beats a player he isn't a great player.

Moyes doing best he can with a joke squad be careful what you wish for because another manager couldn't survive with the squad Moyes has been given this season. I was his biggest critic but not this season I manage u16s and I wouldn't like to be in the position Moyes has been left in this year he is pulling a truck up hill this season.

1

20 Oct 2026 17:16:20
Another deluded so called fan who thinks we should have 11 world class players, win every game because we have a new shiny stadium.

Let's see where we end up.

3

20 Oct 2026 20:04:46
You been on the sauce Dino mate.

2

20 Oct 2026 20:41:27
His best is not good enough.

0

20 Oct 2026 22:53:16
The investment from TFG this year has been crap. We all know this and also know the areas (centre forwards & full backs) that we're weak.

But we also know the management issues as well: too defensive, not even trying to find an alternative solution upfront, and no proper rotation either. Those ones are on DM.

1

21 Oct 2026 00:21:35
The owners & DoF failed to get positions filled whilst selling the likes of Beto. The manager has used some baffling tactics & has failed to utilise the quality we have.
Playing the likes of Brennan Johnson above Dibling & George seems strange. Bringing on Noorgard instead of Hackney against Chelsea was almost a head scratch moment. The season has been littered with strange decisions & wasted point opportunities.

UTFT NSNO 💙 💙 💙.

21 Oct 2026 08:46:38
Norgard looked awful. miles off the pace and obviously not fit.
Moyes has lost the plot!

1

21 Oct 2026 08:57:26
Spent 63m, brought in 91.5m from sales. So not really investing are they.

21 Oct 2026 10:40:35
I think I read that George never ever beats a player in the OP? Well you must be asleep for most of the time he's on the pitch. I'd avoid absolutes, they end up mugging you off.
Stats show he's completed 7 successful dribbles this season in the league.

1

21 Oct 2026 21:47:49
We don't have 20 world class players, but Pickford, O'Brien, Branthwaite, Garner, Armstrong, KDH, Hackney, Grealish, George - all genuinely good players. Add on prospects like Dibling, Aznou, Rohl - it's pretty shallow, but the best squad we've had in over a decade, in my opinion.

Yes, there is some rubbish in there, too, but any manager with anything about them could get something from this squad. I genuinely think 6th or 7th would be ambitious, but feasible - but i suspect we'll grind our way to 15th and act like it was a success.

Everton Need Stability Under Moyes

20 Oct 2026 07:39:02
{Ed's Note - Big C has posted a new article entitled, Everton Need Stability Under Moyes

1

20 Oct 2026 09:50:00
I disagree with pretty much all of that Big C.

Its a smallish squad but we don't have Europe and we haven't had any major injuries yet. Moyes has constantly in all of his years being our manager played for draws and crossed his fingers for wins. It's who he is and I accept that and after the last few years of fighting relegation, I will accept his final, fingers crossed, season of cowardice.

However, I can't wait to see the back of him. Someone needs to explain to me why he has chosen not to play George and Hayden from the start of games, why Dibbling is being completely overlooked after now looking like a proper dangerous EPL player, why Charly is not played or brought on in games, why he thinks 4 CB's on the pitch against Ipswich at home is acceptable. Why, in his own rant, he prioritises "staying in the league" over winning a trophy.

Anyway, I'll calm down in a few days and settle into my seat and accept the lame mediocrity until my suffering is over in May. Everything crossed.

20 Oct 2026 11:44:41
Brilliant assessment couldn't agree more blueJohn.

2

20 Oct 2026 15:20:09
Im in your camp Big C. Weve lost 1 game, not 4 or 5 on the bounce. Lots to be positive about. Our best start to a season in donkeys years. I'd even go as far as to say that by losing, we've ended the "unbeaten" run expectations, and got that monkey off our backs.

Let's get a sense of realism back and get behind the lads. Good article Big C.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - Big C and John both submitted great posts even though they had different views, both had good takes on the situation, it just shows you how split the supporters are and there are a lot of glass half full and glass half empty views, myself i see this as a bit of a slog of a season coming up especially if we fail to strengthen in the January window which with the owners wanting to sell looks very unlikely, there are quite a few teams who are worse than us but if we get injuries and suspensions that would be a major concern to me, but it is what it is i suppose..

1

20 Oct 2026 15:25:12
Just need to beat Arsenal now.

0

20 Oct 2026 16:32:42
I'm genuinely not having a go at Big C here. It's my view and is built on a bit of anger and frustration. Big C put his point over superbly well, I just see it from a different perspective. I even accept Moyes as our manager (for the remainder of the season) .

I wish he would have been braver as a manager in all of his career. If he had he would have won a couple of trophies and might even have kept his job at United. However, as Steven Naismith said about Moyes, he sets the teams up to not lose rather than play to win.

Realism is knowing we have a good squad even if a bit thin which is good enough to compete. Defeatism however, is what many on here and our manager are using to excuse bad decisions. I'm waiting for the knife at a gunfight comment any match now!
