Silva gone no idea who I would like hopefully board get it correct this time. Ed 02 lot named been mentioned if it was your decision who would you go for.
{Ed002's Note - I would give Moyes a contract to the end of the season and then decide.}
06 Dec 2019 17:45:49
Totally agree Ed that makes so much sense it's a no brainer, If only DM would see it that way mate?
06 Dec 2019 18:43:26
Not for me mate.
06 Dec 2019 19:40:09
Nor me. We should move on from DM.
06 Dec 2019 19:53:49
A definite no for Moyes, he is out of work for a reason, he is rubbish.
{Ed025's Note - there are a lot of good men out of work in this counry imperial...but moyes is not one of them mate..
06 Dec 2019 19:55:47
Interim only otherwise fu** him he is useless long term in fact detrimental, I agree lads .
06 Dec 2019 21:36:12
Moving along.
06 Dec 2019 22:26:54
Sorry Moyes not for me.
07 Dec 2019 01:57:12
If he would come until the end of the season then maybe as, I have to be honest, I'd prefer him to Ferguson, who is completely untried and no-one can tell me what he's done at Everton since he came back
Unfortunately Moyes wants long term commitment from Everton. In layman's terms a big pay-off if he fails - hardly him showing confidence in his ability.
Not interested in filling any more managers retirement kitty. Take the job short term and prove yourself or take a very long walk off a very short pier.
07 Dec 2019 07:08:37
Not a case of faith in his own ability. When it came around, I like millions of others negotiated the best contract I could. We all have a bottom line.
07 Dec 2019 07:12:16
Has Moyes come out and said he wants long term then?
07 Dec 2019 11:12:32
We all have an inflated opinion of ourselves BCT. It doesn't mean that Everton have to be taken in by it
Surely that would be the advice such a knowledgeable person as yourself would be giving Mr Moshiri.
06 Dec 2019 14:36:04
Big Dunc conducted himself well in his press interview True Blue.
06 Dec 2019 15:19:56
Till Sky cut him off so they could cuddle up to Pep.
06 Dec 2019 15:23:05
Had a tear in my eye listening to that GB, love the lad to bits.
Interestingly I heard Howe has said he is embarrassed to be linked with the Everton job.
Not sure how to take that.
06 Dec 2019 15:33:22
I believe he was worried that the teams poor results of late would be blamed on him being distracted by the Everton job interest. Can't blame him for trying to be loyal to his present team.
06 Dec 2019 15:37:11
He certainainly was well chuffed to be taking the reigns for the Chelsea game, not sure either what Howe was getting at.
06 Dec 2019 15:52:52
From what I heard Howe was embarrassed to be linked to another job while his team are on such a long losing streak.
06 Dec 2019 11:35:23
respected paul joyce saying our list of names include;
moyes
pereira
ajax manager
poch
ancelotti
poch been approached according to him, no chance but imagine!
06 Dec 2019 16:01:13
Well we ain't getting 4 of those.
06 Dec 2019 16:39:14
Only need one smit:-)
06 Dec 2019 17:52:28
Yeah and knowing our luck we'll get Pochetino only for VAR to rule it out and replace him with Moyes.
06 Dec 2019 18:04:34
But VAR to apologise when we get Moyes back saying they were wrong.
07 Dec 2019 07:15:49
If that is the list Pochettino (spelling) is a definite no. The other three are possible, in order Moyes, Ancelotti, Pereira. First two out of work, Pereira like Benitez currently employed Chinese Super League till January.
07 Dec 2019 10:13:20
Getting Ancelotti out of Napoli would require some kind of masterstroke and a lot of cash I suspect.
Moyes is done but most are blind to see it. Pochetino wouldn't come and will have bigger offers.
06 Dec 2019 13:27:04
Hope some of these names being mentioned in the Media are true, some very good managers in there.
06 Dec 2019 13:40:43
Am I mentioned GB :-)
06 Dec 2019 14:12:23
Your toooooooo busy this month Nick mate its Christmas.
06 Dec 2019 16:12:35
Oh yes I forgot. I have to get the sleigh out and cleaned up, get Rudolph and his mates spruced up, pack the presents and then be on my way. I will pop down your chimney so leave a few carrots and a mince pie will you. Hopefully by then we are mid table :-)
06 Dec 2019 16:44:50
I wish this Christmas to get out the bottom three.
06 Dec 2019 13:23:16
Anyone fancy a punt on Gerrard? To become Everton manager?
06 Dec 2019 14:21:30
Yep I reckon I could get him between the uprights.
06 Dec 2019 16:14:46
Now that would be something to see. Kopites would be throwing themselves in the Mersey lol.
06 Dec 2019 12:55:48
Is Victor Periera the board STILL playing fantasy football. Or have they done due diligence on this one. Don't know enough but looks like another Silva clone!
We need a coach with personality, unlike the recent incumbents who all had personality bypasses. They all came across poorly in press conferences and it must rub off on the players.
The next one has got to be able to organize the defense its not rocket science. He has to be tactically adept and have more than 1 plan. He must be able to inspire the team and pick them up after setbacks make them believe again.
I know we have a lack of creative midfielders, but we have to be able to give the opposition different problems. Not just playing cross field crab like football until the press us and we loose possession.
06 Dec 2019 13:31:07
Doesn't take prisoners judging by his profile.
06 Dec 2019 13:34:44
Some of these lads need a bit of Arthurs Itis in the hip to stop them swivelling sideways and lock them forward.
06 Dec 2019 12:45:37
SSN saying we have a short list of 4 for the Managers job, really pleased that the Club are prepared to take a little time with this and not just put the first one in, going to be an interesting time in the next few days, looking forward to Duncs press conference and especially to tomorrows game.
06 Dec 2019 13:12:28
I hope Moyes is the 5th!
06 Dec 2019 13:39:10
105 Nick mate.
06 Dec 2019 11:15:48
1st time poster so go easy on me. Regarding DF. Yes he was a great player for us. Legend, not so sure as I think he could of done more while playing for us. Although you can't deny his love for the club. If you look at his body language over the last few games you can see he's as annoyed as we all are at what we're seeing. I don't think he's had or been allowed to have much say on team selection or tactics. I think the last few managers have veen stubborn with their selection. DF will hopefully instill a bit of passion and fight into the team that's been sadly missing for sometime now. He might only be in charge for a couple of games so while he's in the seat let's get behind him, you never know he just might be decent at it. Overt to you Dunc.
06 Dec 2019 11:59:57
Unfortunately he is limited to what players are available due to injuries so i am afraid it will be the same squad with possible one or two changes, and maybe a different formation.
06 Dec 2019 08:41:18
Clubs an embarrassment, making silva wait in finch farm for ten hours? not right at all, farhad moshiri holding a meeting with the players? why? that should be brands. its a mess why employ a director of football if you're not going to let him do the job.
06 Dec 2019 09:44:39
I do wonder if under our 'new' model the Manager has a say in the players brought in or is given the Players and told sort it out. Preference if you must have a DoF is that the Manager (who after all should know his idea of players needed to fit his preferred system) has the major say in incomings.
06 Dec 2019 10:55:57
WBlue - why shouldn’t the guy who pays the wages of these dross individuals be allowed to have a meeting with them?
06 Dec 2019 11:09:08
The messing yesterday made us look pathetic again. I cannot see any reason why it took all day to sack him.
06 Dec 2019 12:31:03
Who said it took all day to sack him? I imagine there would have been several discussions taking place and I’m sure silva would have been given an opportunity to say how he’d turn things around, all these things take time.
06 Dec 2019 14:12:20
your owner can tqalk to the players yeah no worries its his club, he shouldn't be the one discussing footballing matters with them though, it should be, wait for it, your director of football!
06 Dec 2019 15:27:06
If I was the owner I would be giving them a right mouthful. Then I would have a word with the director of football and tell him to start doing his Effin job properly or he will be following Marco.
06 Dec 2019 16:12:16
Would you prefer we sacked him and had him replaced in hours like Spurs did to Poch? 🤷🏻♂️
I don’t think there is a right or wrong way to sack someone.
06 Dec 2019 08:36:13
Who do we realistically think the next manager will be?
I've read some Mad suggestions of Pochachinno and Simionne (spelling) . really? We have no chance getting them, none, nada, zilch.
Is Benetiz realistic?
Dyche or Howe? In comfy jobs at mo.
Moyes?
Ferguson (beyond caretaker role)
Arteta?
Chap from Argentina?
Or anyone else?
🤷♂️🤷♂️.
06 Dec 2019 09:03:16
Rafa for me mate.
06 Dec 2019 09:42:45
You've missed this new Vitor Pieria guy. I've never even heard of him and he's had teams relegated so it sounds like he is the front runner.
06 Dec 2019 09:58:43
Ha ha ha he sounds perfect FatChris
I wouldn't mind old Rafa either. Think will be Moyes though, which isn't ideal but could be worse.
06 Dec 2019 11:09:03
We looked at him but went with Martinez
Did well at Porto winning titles did well at Olympiacos winning the double won SIPG their first Chinese super league title
But yes was relegated with Munich
So he’s been a winner and has tasted the tough side of relegation, let’s hope he learnt from that if he’s appointed and get behind him rather than start the negativity before he or whoever else is appointed
And this weekend come on Dunc and the boys!
06 Dec 2019 11:12:24
Why is Moshiri attracted to miserable Portugese managers? At least on Saturday Duncan will be lovely on the bench, would love him to do really well. Mind if he won every game in December Moshiri would still want a failed portugese manager I reckon.
06 Dec 2019 13:43:29
A bit speculative that DC. Mind you at least you would have another manager to dislike lol.
06 Dec 2019 14:05:01
If we win Saturday Sam Allardyce will try and take credit for it. Lol.
06 Dec 2019 14:25:13
Didn't do bad in his one half season SIG.
06 Dec 2019 16:05:06
If you consider 4 shots on target in half a season as not too bad.
06 Dec 2019 06:57:18
Cant believe some are happy with Dunc being in charge and calling him a legend I get it some on here are younger than me and don't remember the older players but for me he isn't a legend and should have gone with Silva and the rest of the backroom coaching staff I am amazed with the way this club is being ran at the moment I really do give up we might as well put them in charge of the country they would fit in well.
06 Dec 2019 09:14:21
DF, was the only thing we had to hold on to in his day really I suppose.
However 'caretaker' manager is what he is atm
I'm not going to nail my colours to the mast just yet, I just hope we get a new boss that can separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of 'Value to EFC' for the future.
06 Dec 2019 09:16:42
Think its a age thing Skylark. I grew up watching Everton in the 90's and early 2000's. We weren't winning leagues then buddy, nearly every year was a relegation fight.
The only good thing about being a blue at that time was Duncan Ferguson. that's why I love him, still do and if I found in bed with my wife I will tuck him in and get him coco.
That being said, it was a bitter pill to take when we traveled 6 hours to watch Everton away at Charlton and he gets sent off for punching someone.
Never know, could gets us on a winning run in December (I am allowed to dream! )
06 Dec 2019 11:14:25
He is there for a few weeks so let's back him and try to get this team three points on Saturday, we the fans have our part to play.
06 Dec 2019 13:29:07
We'll get enthusiasm and passion with Big Dunc, however as for any long term stand in I can't see it working.
For me the only choice is Rafa. He can steady the ship and knows how to win with half decent players, that we do still have, regardless of some of the results.
Although I'm not displeased with the sacking of Silva, I do have some sympathy as far as the terrible run of injuries we have had.
