Wan bisaka and lindlerloff plus cash for JB love all the rumours lol 😆.

{Ed025's Note - they might as well offer us Ant and Dec RON, if they want to take the piss..

Believable2 0Unbelievable

25 Jun 2024 18:15:01
Both players on £100k+ per week.

Lindelof been beset with injury problems and AWB has also had a few.

Whilst think AWB could be a decent addition I think these players/ transfers are no longer what we are trying to do any more and are trying to get wage bill down by recruiting wisely - on their current wages neither would be a good deal for us.

Is the ndiaye deal complete Interested in broga for £35 million how does that work if we sold DCL for £25 million. Glad I ain't an accountant. Confused is an understatement.

Agree0 0Disagree

26 Jun 2024 07:34:48
Ron I may be wrong but believe any sales (and the total fee for that sale) before 30th June go towards the psr period for 2023/ 24.

However any incomings are amortised over the length of the contract and only a part of it would show up in that period.

So if we sold DCL for £25m then the full £25m less any fees (agent etc. ) would go as profit in that period.

If we bought Broja for £35m (hope not) and gave him a 5 year contract then only £7m would go in that period for his purchase.

Has the potential to be a very good signing this GB, touch of class and outstanding for Sheff Utd when went up, only thing it was championship, think he makes step up with ease.

Best years ahead of him, bags of potential and scoop for sizeable profit. Do for me👍.

Some decent early deals. This new proposed owner seems to know exactly what plans are needed and it's looking good gor the future 🤞.

The step-up between the championship and the premier league is massive isn’t it Mocker.

A bit of concern due to him only scoring 3 in a very poor French league, especially when a 35 year old Aubemayang and 33 year old Lacazette are getting close to 20 goals.

That being said, he can’t be any worse than what we have and at least he is comfortable on the ball and loves taking people on.

Having him in the 10 over doucoure certainly improves the dynamics of the team and gives us more attacking impetus.

Agree1 0Disagree

25 Jun 2024 10:41:48
Yeah it's quite a step BlueNose, some do it with ease let's hope he can.

Definitely not a out and out striker or direct replacement for Dom if does go, he is and could be that missing link we need and slots in nicely in the 10 role, his goal return wasn't too great in France but didn't see him out there TBF.

At the price not ridiculous in today's market and still only 24 could be very clever business.

Agree1 0Disagree

25 Jun 2024 11:30:07
Just what we have been crying out for and nice and earlymfew more gems to come in I reckon.

Agree1 0Disagree

25 Jun 2024 13:21:43
I think it seems as though Dom will be on his way. I wouldn’t be against getting Morris in to replace him. Grafts, physical, puts himself about and is a more natural goal scorer. Only a year older too. Makes perfect sense to me.

Agree0 0Disagree

25 Jun 2024 18:12:10
I liked the look of Morris more when playing behind the striker at Luton. Then again I liked the look of Adebayo more as an attacking threat. I think he would be great for us up front. Suppose it depends if we are interested though.

Eds, can you give us an update on Calvert lewin and potential incomings?

{Ed002's Note - At present Everton have priced him out of a move to Newcastle - they could return with a better offer. Wildcard would be MIlan if Zrkzee heads elsewhere.

Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) Versatile forward who only joined Marseille in the summer of 2023 - but the goals have completely dried up. Everton have enquired after a loan with an option to buy, but the player wants to stay in Marseille, although they are keen to sell him and want their €20M back but will reluctantly accept slightly less - aligning with what they will be spending on his replacement.

Tammy Abraham (S) With JM departed then it is likely TA will as well. Brentford see him as a potential Toney replacement and Aston Villa will almost certainly provide an option. Spurs may turn to him if they lose out on their first choice. Wildcard would be Everton but it would require UEFA oversight and payments spread over a longer period. Will need to prove his fitness after a terrible injury. Roma may offer him back to Chelsea in exchange for Lukaku.}

25 Jun 2024 08:51:25
Thank you Ed that’s great. Are we likely to target a winger?

{Ed002's Note - If DCL stays the Ndiaye can play on the wing. Others looked at:

Yankuba Minteh (RW) Left footed RW will perhaps get another loan at Feyenoord after a very good season. Arne Slot was impressed by him but following him to Liverpool, except as cover, would be a huge step up. Everton and Roma offer options but the price is too high for Everton.
Alex Matos (CM/AM/RW) Having had a very good loan to Huddersfield and has been attracting scouts from Everton - who are also tracking another Huddersfield player, Lille, Fortuna Düsseldorf and PSV at the behest of an ex Chelsea player. Chelsea will likely look to another loan rather than a sale with Bayer Leverkusen keen.
Assane Diao (LW/RW) Interest gone.

Much is still down to departures and has been eased by Jack Harrison.}

25 Jun 2024 15:32:36
That’s great Ed thank you. Hopefully a strong squad at the end of the summer, a very good start already. Add a winger, another centre mid (ndidi) and a forward and only lose Calvert Lewin I think sets us up nicely for a comfortable season and we can then start to build for next year.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely BR, the only greens im interested in at the moment though are the ones on the golf course mate, and the only iron my 7 iron, but i am partial to good pint of Guinness..

I'm sure Marseille will try and recoup most of what they paid for him which seems a lot for a player with his goal record. I'm not convinced personally, he's a championship player.

In reply to Oceandrive re EFC and Villa buying off each other. Think the benefit in those deals is each team sold the other an academy player so all of transfer fee is profit. For the selling team. when you buy another player you can spread the cost over the duration of the contract. So for us. Say we got 9/ 10 million for Dobbin. That’s pure profit for PSR calculations. Then we bought Tim from Villa for similar price on three year contract. So around 3M a year so by selling Dobbin this year for PSR just on those two players EFC can put 6/ 7 M towards PSR. (Depends if he was 9 or 10M to buy) Hope all that makes sense. That’s my understanding of it anyway. Jack.

Believable3 0Unbelievable

23 Jun 2024 22:45:01
Nice one jack, that makes more sense so therefore the Newcastle dcl and mintee deals must be unrelated as they aren’t academy players.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 23:25:35
Not quite Ocean. The academy aspect just means that the money coming in is pure profit. Deals can still be done that are favourable to clubs even if they aren't academy players.

The benefit for clubs would be by selling a player e.g us with Dom, selling him for say £15 million. All of that fee, minus the £1.5 we initially paid for him, will be coming into the club as profit for PSR. Where as signing young Tim on a 3 year deal at £9m would mean the cost would be split over the length of his contract, so much less of hit going against PSR.

The same the other way with Villa. 9m in for Tim and then whatever they sign Dobbin for would be split over his contract length.

Ed's I am not 100% sure if that is how it works so please correct if I am wrong on that.

{Ed001's Note - why would the £1.5m be of any relevance? That is not how it works at all. That will have long been written off over the course of his contract. The stuff that comes out of it is things such as agent fees, the 5% of the transfer fee that goes to the clubs that developed him as a youngster, the 5% that goes to the player, solicitor fees etc. The academy aspect just means a club keeps an extra 5% of the fee that will otherwise go to the club/s whose academy/s the player spent time at.

If it is a recently signed player, who fee is being split for accounting purposes over his contract and still has a couple of years left to be written off, then you would have that to come out of the 'profit'.}

24 Jun 2024 14:55:58
Quite a bit in the press about these 'odd' transfers between Villa and us. Suggesting that we've exploited a loophole.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 12:00:48
ManUre have apparently made a £50 million bid for Onana. I'd happily drive the lad there myself for that fee.

{Ed025's Note - you could take him in your truck WT.. :)

Believable2 0Unbelievable

23 Jun 2024 12:17:22
Really? On one hand we have people literally crying about us possibly selling a player who has 1 year left and doesn't score goals for a massive profit if rumours true at £35m who cost £1.5m
And then a very young player who is 1 year older than Branthwaite and cost £35m is wanted by Arsenal, Chelsea, ManU, Barcelona, Munich etc and the fee is relatively rumoured to only be £50ishM. The kid is clearly not in a team with the good players he makes look good like he does for his country. Must be the players fault.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 12:18:44
Could put all his possessions in the back Ed. do you think it's a genuine offer or just media rubbish?

{Ed025's Note - i think it might be genuine WT, quite a few clubs are interested in him mate...dont ask me why .. :)

23 Jun 2024 12:22:04
I'd want aleast 60 for onnana at minimum chelsea paid that for lavia.

{Ed025's Note - get bretto on our negotiations team.. :)

23 Jun 2024 12:23:09
Excellent news that the Manure are offering over £50 million for Onana and if we can get £37 or near abouts for injury prone DCL that would be great news indeed, keep JB young players coming in will be a new Team when we kick off in the summer, Sean getting deals done early bring it on.

23 Jun 2024 12:31:36
The lad obviously thinks he can do a lot better for himself so let him go. To me he’s just another Paul Pogba. Has talent but very rarely shows it.

Agree3 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 14:05:25
DCL was a more effective player for us than Onana in my opinion FBS. We now we have to sell someone otherwise we’d keep them all. I’d take 50 for Onana.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 14:35:08
And the same suspects crying over Dobbin, . Small and all kinds of long forgottens. Utterly baffling.

23 Jun 2024 14:47:19
I think he’s been very good in euros he’s strong can tackle and a decent passer.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 21:51:12
Having a differing opinion to FBS = crying. Hope Dobbin does well, didn’t see enough from him personally. If we can get good money for Onana, we should take it and secure FFP. Think we’ll struggle to find a number 9 that does the job that Dom’s done for us in difficult circumstances, happy to be proven wrong by Thelwell and co of course.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2024 23:17:28
Spot on FBS. Some go on about how good DCL could be with better players around him but don't apply the same logic to Onana.

I am not too fussed as he clearly wants to go and has high aspirations but the way people talk him down as if he is sh**e is beyond baffling. That being said, I guess football is a game of opinions after all.

Agree1 0Disagree

24 Jun 2024 08:30:47
Say what you see. I see a player with a lot of potential who sadly doesn't always show it.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jun 2024 10:24:40
The lad has undoubted ability, but have to agree he seems more of a Pogba luxury player toe and his heart doesn't seem in it.

He will no doubt go elsewhere and in a possession retaining team and a worker ngolo kante type next to him flourish.

Sadly we simple don't have the calibre of players or style to get the best out of him. A decent profit is not a bad deal, I was actually worried we get our outlay back.

Agree1 0Disagree

24 Jun 2024 10:56:57
I don't think anyone doubt that he has qualities and he could grow into a fantastic player. We are not, unfortunately, in a position to hang on to all of our assets. If we get good bids for any player, we'd have to consider them. If we sell him for more than we purchased him for, you'd have to say that's good business. Hopefully the days of us paying over the odds for ageing players is gone (I know, Ashley Young - but we need some old heads) .

Agree1 0Disagree

22 Jun 2024 18:52:59
Ed02 does beto have any suitors is there chance he goes roma we get Abraham.

{Ed002's Note - Beto (S) Agent has approached Inter and Juventus but they have preferred options for cover. Agent wants him to move on. Goals have dried up completely and Everton will look to a sale to recover at least some funds from the journeyman striker. Could have to settle for a loan initially.}
