TFG have decided to formally announce that they are now looking to sell Everton football club.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago on here, that process had already begun as the club had been officially listed online on a well renowned investment site I'be been told this morning that the reason for their timing of this announcement this morning is because in light of what I've already previously mentioned they are now confident of a full sale of the club as several parties have come forward with 2 already expressing concrete interest.1 of which is of Middle Eastern interest we shall see!

Yes, we will see Elvis, and hope springs, eternal mate. ;)

The statement from the club says a controlling interest, that's not a full sale just possibly their major shareholders position, whereby they would just be shareholders without influence so that should us and Roma both qualify for Europe in the same competition there will be no conflict. It will also raise some capital for them to fund Roma's new stadium. Just my take on the situation.

I think if the right offer came in then they would sell.

No surprise they didn't spend in the last window and we nearly lost some of our better players in the process Armstrong / Garner Let's get someone who will invest in the team and be hands on ie the Hull owner he attended every interview of new signings and shows passion let's have some!

They're looking to sell the club in what I've been told £800 million - £1billion price being mooted for them to be able to make a tidy profit.

For sale, can't say I'm shocked, . Let's hope we get someone who wants to invest in just us and the future. I think we're quite an attractive option if the price is right! COYB.

So its official. Looks like another winter window will pass us by as the sale is on. Hopefully it all gets wrapped up and we find a buyer who has some sporting ambitions.

Sara linked again.

Thought we should have gone for him in the summer tbh. Would give us a completely different profile and would stop KDH being guaranteed 90 mins every week.

Without wanting to get the broken record out again, we need to be looking at a striker and a left back as a minimum in January. Injuries and suspensions will play their part, and the decent start to the season will only continue with extra numbers in the right position. I'd settle for a couple of loans tbh.

See Troy Parrot did well scoring 4 goals in the internationals, still think he was worth a go with us.

Awful player nowhere near good enough for the Prem. Internationals is totally different.

It's the old argument that you'll never no who's good enough and who isn't and will never no unless they play in the prem they said the same as olly Watkins Ivan toney and the likes in my opinion the Premier League is vastly overrated the quality of players now compared to the 80s 90s and early 00s is nowhere where near the same in 1992 we had a team with the likes of Dave Watson unsworth matterazzi Southall weir jeffers oster ebbrell snodin Beardsley abblett hinchcliff ride rideout and finished 13th that squad in today's prem would finish in the top 4 easy.

Playing well for Betis and scoring goals in La Liga. Can't be that awful can he?

Agree JB.

Bit of a random collection of 90s players there Toffee and half of them didn't even overlap! We signed Oster in 1997, and he was dreadful. Jeffers made his debut in 1997 and had a decent spell then flopped at Arsenal and did not have a decent career.

Matterrazzi signed in 1998, good player for the season we had him but he got sent off every other week even back then and it'd be even more regular in today's game!

John Oster blast from the past! He was crap though.

Think you have some blue tinted glasses on there TL. They wouldn't make top 10 in my opinion. Nice sentiment though.

Agree with you that the game has changed and I put that down to the explosion of money into the game. Now clubs will shop globally and the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton have really good structures in place to make the most of it. The issue remains that the teams with ridiculous revenues are buying up all the talent whether they start them or not.

Parrot would have been worth a shout for me. Is he the next Haarland? Probably not. Is he better than Barry? Possibly. He certainly would have offered something different to Barry and possibly have less medical issues to Balogun.

My opinion.

I mixed jeffers with mo Johnson just looked at the squad we had Martin keown at the back as well barry Horne matt Jackson still that squad today would finish top 4 in today's Premier League the quality of players and style of play is shocking to watch plus it's become a non contact sport throw in the var and it's hard watching 90 mins.

Have Everton played any friendlies over the last few days? I read that was the plan. They are exploring strikers options, eg Charly and Brennan J?

1

02 Oct 2026 12:56:28
Yeah I read that as well mate, hopefully they did.

2

02 Oct 2026 15:52:35
brennan was playing for wales.

02 Oct 2026 18:29:51
Played Blackburn today. Drew 3-3. Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Jonathan Nsangou scored.

02 Oct 2026 21:05:41
Is it just me, or do we seem to play Blackburn in a friendly every season, and we Never win. Always like 3-3 or we lose.

2

03 Oct 2026 00:07:54
Friendlies don't mean much at best of times, especially once the season has started. Just an exercise to keep those not away with their respective nations up to fitness and to break the monotony of training over the 3 weeks without a proper game. The young lad took his goal well after a good run with the ball by Grealish.

Read an article that Jordan Pickford is a target for Bayern Munich hope this is a load of cobblers.

28 Sep 2026 20:18:46
We'd have to sell him for less than we paid Sunderland otherwise the PL will sanction us for making money on the deal 🙄.

28 Sep 2026 20:22:49
Good one mate.

2

28 Sep 2026 23:12:47
Based on the interest rate we are being charged by the Burnley commission, that would put him on around £30m plus £678m so shall we just call it a round £700m for him and we should break even.

26 Sep 2026 14:17:37
Perhaps now given what is going on with City we will win our appeal against paying Burnley anything. Just so it doesn't open a can of worms for City and the Premiership.

6

26 Sep 2026 22:50:49
i don't think the Prem mind opening a can of worms if the only people they fall on are us. Would surprise me if it makes no difference and they got off lighter than we did.

27 Sep 2026 11:06:57
The tricky question comes if there is a large points deduction ( which we all doubt) how many clubs might make claims they were relegated or kept out of Europe due to this. If Burnley win, the ramifications for city are astronomical.

3

27 Sep 2026 16:55:00
Agree EFCONE, the Burnley case is going to be fascinating now. If that stands then it opens the door for teams to claim loss of prize money given where they finished in the league. Loss of earnings for missing out on a place in Europe. It could take years to sort out.
Lawyers all over the country will be rubbing their grubby little hands.

BMD, I really wish I was a grubby Lawyer for a few years on the back of this one ha ha.

If we don't are we going to see an Infantino interpretation of an obscure rule to allow City off with a minor penalty.
