Reading we are looking to sell Tim in January, would go along with that not good enough unfortunately,

17 Nov 2025 18:38:34
Only if we get a replacement in. We have no one who can sit in front of the back four.
Weirdly enough he did that job well against Fulham and I’m not his biggest fan at all.
17 Nov 2025 19:46:44
Think it would be a mistake. Think he has all the technical qualities to be top quality, just needs a lot of development on the mental aspects, which he needs more top level game time for.
Also, how much will we even get for him? If it's not going to be a good profit, which i doubt it will be, what's the point? He's not on big wages and is valuable depth. Would be a bizarre decision if true.
17 Nov 2025 20:26:28
Bought him for £9 million I think from Villa.
{Ed025's Note - i thought it was a straight swap for Dobbin GB?..
17 Nov 2025 20:50:56
No I think we paid £10m for him and received £10m for Dobbin
As academy outgoings for both teams, it’s listed as pure profit while the outgoing fee’s are listed in installments.
17 Nov 2025 21:06:07
Deal benefitted both clubs for FFP, academy player income being pure profit.
18 Nov 2025 13:07:42
Perhaps it's because they are looking to bring in McTominay? Get him and their could be a reshuffle in midfield, leaving very little playing time if any for Tim.
17 Nov 2025 11:45:40
I see Troy Parrott now being linked with us this morning, think this signing would see our team ‘flying’ up the league table in no time ?.
Agree2
Disagree0
17 Nov 2025 12:12:15
As long as we sign Troy Parrott and not Troy Hawke, although would love to see him as an official greeter at Hill Dickinson.
17 Nov 2025 13:25:40
We'll end up signing John Parrott by an accident.
17 Nov 2025 13:44:34
I think if we sign him, we'll have 'flapped' it once again, and confirmed how caw-ful our striker recruitment team is.
I'm sure he's a decent player, but underwhelmed at every level he played at in England and is only thriving in a league Jozy Altidore and Vincent Janssen were prolific. I know there's exceptions to that rule, and too easy to just dismiss the Eredivisie outright, but if we're hoping to keep hold of our best players, whoever we get up top HAS to be proven quality.
17 Nov 2025 16:22:24
If we get him people will just say he's crap, he's crap' he's crap squawk!
18 Nov 2025 01:56:35
Plenty of other strikers I would rather go after but I think you have been quite harsh on Parrot there.
His spells in the lower English leagues, arguably some of the most physically challenging leagues in the world, were whilst he was a teenager. He wasn't fortunate to blessed with the physical attributes to cope in those leagues whilst he was earning his trade.
His first loan at Millwall he got very unlucky with 2 serious injuries and was recalled in the Jan before going on loan to Ipswich where he was behind our best strikers twin brother Will and Alan Judge.
The following season - 10 goals and 7 assists for MK Dons at 19 isn't too bad.
Fell off when stepping up to the Champ with Preston, only managing 3 for the season but Ched Evans was their starting striker and Parrot was fighting it out for minutes with Liam Delap who only got 1 that season and was one of the most sought after strikers in the league this summer before moving to Chelsea.
He then moved over to Holland and hasn't stopped scoring since. He scored 17 goals for a side that got relegated and then moved to AZ where he has a better record than 1 in 2 for them in the league and in Europe.
Not to mention his recent exploits for the Irish National Side, as recently as this week where he secured them qualification to the World Cup on his own, scoring a brace against Portugal and a hat-trick against Hungary.
The lad has good technique and his movement brilliant. I am sure that Seamus will have his share of input on the move and he doesn't strike me as the sort to keep quiet if he has any concerns that the lad wouldn't be able to hack it at PL level.
I would rather have him than Beto and Barry because he is a natural and instinctive goal scorer but I would want him battling it out with a striker that has been contributing to goals consistently in a better league like a Burkardt, Demirovic, Embolo or Castellanos,
18 Nov 2025 13:10:55
I was joking BN read it again. I have no idea if this lad would improve us or not. Seen many do well in the Championship only to disappear in the Prem. Maybe he would buck the trend, who knows.
18 Nov 2025 16:26:34
That reply was to the post above you Brass. I actually laughed at your joke last night before replying and couldn't understand who could give it a thumbs down tbh mate hahaha.
18 Nov 2025 17:14:22
Soz mate no worries.
20 Nov 2025 11:06:57
That's all very valid, tbf, BlueNose. I'm sure he is a decent player, and no doubt he would be an upgrade on B&B up top, but i still stand by the point that whoever we get Needs to be quality. We can't take another risk on someone who Might work out, but there is mixed evidence on whether they would - plus, he was very highly rated at Tottenham, but they still chose to let him go for pretty cheap. Obviously mistakes can be made, but I trust their judgement of strikers more than I trust our own scouts, and the story of a player who struggles in England, has success abroad, then struggles back in England again is a bit too familiar (Lookman, Sancho, Nelson etc. ) .
Either way, I wouldn't be disappointed if we got him (depending on price) , but i would be worried if he's the only striker we get, and if he got fewer than 10 goals between Jan and the end of the season, I think we might not be seeing Ndiaye or Grealish play for us next season, either.
16 Nov 2025 13:10:51
Vultures are circling for Jimmy Garner. I hope the powers that be have got things sorted.
{Ed025's Note - so do i WT, it will be hell of a blow if he departed mate..

16 Nov 2025 14:47:54
Do not want to lose him.
16 Nov 2025 17:55:32
Why anyone would want Ndiaye gone is beyond me Strewth.
16 Nov 2025 17:59:06
Don't worry, it's inevitable that other teams want our best players and the press make a field day of it. The only reason that we will sell is if it makes economic sense and it will not be in this January unless the offer is too good to turn down.
16 Nov 2025 18:19:40
And Garner excellent player Strewth.
18 Nov 2025 07:53:05
I read we have an option of another year on his co tract, so unless everton want to sell there's no worry.
15 Nov 2025 22:01:30
Reading that we had scouts in Dublin watching the ROI striker Parrott, Scored 2, 23 y/o previously at spurs no playing in Greece.

16 Nov 2025 01:11:15
He plays for Az Alkmaar Big C and has 6 in 7 for them this season.
Remember hearing about this lad under Mourinho, who actually gave him his debut at Spurs.
16 Nov 2025 18:55:58
Hope we don't get snookered.
16 Nov 2025 19:07:08
Cheers BN I knew it was a weird sounding team name with a Z involved so guessed at Greece ??.
13 Nov 2025 11:46:12
Myles Lewis-Skelly from Arsenal getting linked again with us, Myko contract ending soon I believe, not seen MLS play is he any good.

13 Nov 2025 13:33:44
Very good player got a few Red cards last season playing LB as his natural position is midfield. Arsenal were short with LB's last season and he stepped in when asked. Are we after signing him or loaning him GB??.
13 Nov 2025 14:32:41
I saw this yesterday GB but thought it was a pipe dream mate. The lad is top quality. His position from the youth is actually in midfield but Mikel used him at LB and sometimes RB last season.
Head and shoulders above Myko.
13 Nov 2025 17:04:26
I think it was to sign him mate.
13 Nov 2025 17:15:39
Really Can't see that being cheap but would definitely sign him if possible.
13 Nov 2025 17:23:20
It will be a loan if it happens.
13 Nov 2025 17:53:39
He will do, different class to Mykolenko.
14 Nov 2025 17:43:58
Definitely a quality player, but absolutely no chance we get him, and he wouldn't make sense in our team.
He's a CM playing left back, so he constantly looks to drift into the middle. We need a LB who can overlap and give Grealish another option when he holds the ball up, not another player moving into the middle and into the same space as KDH and Garner.
Don't get me wrong, he would be a huge quality improvement on Mykolenko, but we can't just buy players because they're good without thinking of how they fit in the system - that's how we ended up in the situation we were in under Koeman and beyond, and why United have been so bad for 10 years.
14 Nov 2025 23:43:42
What system?
We didn't end up in the situation by buying quality players that didn't work in a system that we never even had. We ended up in the situation by buying sh**e players that can't even get into their own sides, that became cast offs on over inflated wages and drained us dry whilst turning in lacklustre performances. Other than that we turned down multiple opportunities to buy quality players and instead took risks to appease friends of an owner that has zero clue about running a football club.
I would prefer us to come up with a system in the first place or buy quality players to help progress the team forward. We certainly shouldn't turn down a player based on the fact that he might not suit a player that may not even be here next season.
You are right though, zero chance we get him.
16 Nov 2025 19:00:36
Not sure what our plan is to be honest. We recruited Dibling, Aznou, Rohl who have hardly played, Alacaraz who has limited playing time and Barry who is evidently not ready. All this is long term recruitment I guess, presumably being pushed by the new club management/recruitment team and obviously not in Moyes short term plans.
You can then add Armstrong and maybe another to the long term list. Maybe we can now focus on the short term needs and we all know what positions need strengthening. Hopefully so do the recruitment team with Moyes in agreement so he will use them right away. Fed up with this "not ready" bull-sh*t.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Mike, concentrate on today because tomorrow may never come..
12 Nov 2025 13:31:58
Reading that Wolves want Dwight McNeil in January come and get him.

12 Nov 2025 17:40:42
Bye bye ?.
13 Nov 2025 07:22:34
You say that but when illiman is away we I'll need him unless we by someone else.
13 Nov 2025 17:52:56
Or maybe play Dibling BP. Hopefully Moyes remembers we still have him.
14 Nov 2025 12:32:32
Sell him, replace him with someone better. Repeat for a few others.
12 Nov 2025 10:09:42
We are getting Zirkzee in January 100% true. You heard it from Big Reg first lads.

12 Nov 2025 11:29:16
Wow that’s some news mate.
12 Nov 2025 15:34:40
Would sooner stick with B and B than waste paying money for a loan or permanent deal for him. I might be wrong and he is just needs a club that's suits him but i don't rate him.
12 Nov 2025 18:49:00
The issue is that we need a 9 and he is more of a 10 than he is a 9. He actually has ability and knits things together quite well. If we do bring him in, he needs to play where KDH does and that simply won't happen as Moyes loves him.
That being said, I would much rather have him in the 9 than either of the lads that we have.
12 Nov 2025 18:54:18
Richy could do the job BN.
12 Nov 2025 21:07:52
Could certainly do a job GB. He definitely improves us but I think it would depend on the price that Spurs set mate. He is soon to be 29. I don't think he has improved as a player since he was at us, so may have reached his ceiling.
13 Nov 2025 17:55:05
He will be great for us, just the type we need, if it happens ?.
11 Nov 2025 15:21:48
DJU not for sale in January apparently according to his manager they are keeping him till summer. So to me that means your paying a fortune to sign him in January and it said bayern Munich have been monitoring him aswell as us.

11 Nov 2025 15:48:11
I reckon we will go for Toney mate.
{Ed025's Note - i really cant see it GB..
11 Nov 2025 16:12:58
I think TFG will go all out to build the Team in Jan mate, we are a striker short of being able to challenge the so called top six mate.
11 Nov 2025 16:39:17
Probably just strengthening their position Ron. Those Danish clubs cannot afford to turn down PL money for their players. He was rumoured to be available for around 15/17.5 million in the summer. That will naturally go up due to his continued brilliant form. Add the Jan tax and I think they would buckle at anything around 25/30 mill mark.
If we could recoup some of that by shifting Beto, I think it would represent good business.
No doubting this lads talent and finishing ability. Although he hasn't played football anywhere near PL level, he has scored everywhere he has played and more recently is showing it on the European stage.
36 goals in 69 League games.
3 goals in 5 in Domestic Cup games.
3 goals in 6 CL games.
5 goals in 16 Europa games.
5 goals in 3 Europa Conf games.
11 Nov 2025 19:57:06
Fingers crossed BN ? do we lose ndiaye and idrissa in jan aswell? A pal of mine said Sunderland could lose possibly 9 players to African nations cup.
11 Nov 2025 22:12:21
Unfortunately we do mate yes. When you consider the drop off from our starting 11 to our bench, it doesn't fill me with much confidence Ron. Hopefully Rohl gets up to speed by the. Personally, I think he looks a very capable player and one that can fill the void.
As for Ndiaye, we would have all hoped that young Dibling could do the same but he hasn't even had the minutes to prove that to us at this stage.
12 Nov 2025 00:56:25
We are more than a striker away from challenging the top 6.
Still need a right back, left back and defensive midfielder.
12 Nov 2025 18:49:52
Agree with you there Swan.
15 Nov 2025 11:22:23
Definitely, swan, although we need to fill those positions that you mentioned, I think a CF is the most pressing. It won't get us into the top 6 but, if we recruit someone who can put the ball into the net, it will certainly keep us away from the dog fight at the bottom.
09 Nov 2025 17:29:26
I have seen a number of articles stating that we’re in talks for Kubo, D’ju and Richarlison.
Kubo when googled show spurs willing to pay £60 million for him.
D’ju I believe will be off to the ACON.
Richarlison is reportedly very interested in returning to Everton.

09 Nov 2025 17:58:52
Hope that’s true mate, Richy would be a game changer for us mate.
10 Nov 2025 01:48:27
Dju is not going to AFCON mate. He is too busy and coming to us.
10 Nov 2025 01:48:37
Scored again today btw.
10 Nov 2025 14:02:53
Too busy?
10 Nov 2025 17:37:45
Too busy coming to us*.
10 Nov 2025 20:14:40
Dju would be worth taking a punt on. 18 goals already and great season last season. Need to get deal done now for him so he's officially our players in january. But we will dithering and a team like Brighton or Bournemouth will steal a march on us.
11 Nov 2025 14:57:08
Didn’t dither with Ndiaye, KDH, or Grealish mate, can’t see a problem with Everton bringing in players in Jan.
05 Nov 2025 22:10:32
Any news on Ndiaye’s injury?
{Ed025's Note - according to Moyes its not very serious at all BR..

06 Nov 2025 11:32:43
Reading they took him off because of cramp.
06 Nov 2025 16:01:52
He should not be having cramp that is so severe that he needs to come off. He needs plenty of fluids, potassium and magnesium glycinate. I've always had my doubts about the clubs medical staff.
06 Nov 2025 21:19:00
Just thankful he’s not out injured. Lose him and we’ve lost one major goal threat….
01 Nov 2025 14:28:14
Several sites claiming we've looked at a deal for Jackson in January. Now I know everyone knows we're desperate for a striker, but this has to be nonsense. If Bayern did terminate his deal, reckon Chelsea would be chuffed, they've missed a number 9 this season.
{Ed025's Note - im not his biggest fan to be honest JB, better than what we have but a terrible attitude problem mate..

01 Nov 2025 15:42:32
£70 million being quoted mate.
{Ed025's Note - shove it for me GB, a lot better out there for that sort of money mate..
01 Nov 2025 15:52:47
He’s another clumsy striker who misses easy chances and can’t hold the ball up
So he’d fit in I guess.
01 Nov 2025 16:52:22
Agree there Ed mate, I think Toney would improve us no end and at £40 million a bargain lol.
02 Nov 2025 14:08:03
£70m for Jackson, that’s madness. Think of the quality of striker you could get for that.
06 Nov 2025 03:07:21
Well we paid almost 60m pounds for the two B's who play 90 minutes plus overtime between the two of them. Maybe we should have paid that amount for one decent player.
06 Nov 2025 14:02:22
the barry money should of went on igamane at rangers!
